Orion is one lucky werewolf. He’s handsome, sexy; his career is soaring, and he has more financial security than he’s ever known traveling the world performing his music. He loves the stage, and his fans adore him. Life is good. He should be ecstatic. But he’s not. Loneliness grates. The one thing he doesn’t have is the acceptance of the love of his life, his best friend, Bastien.
Bastien Valadon is an Elite vampire operative who thrives on the adventurous and dangerous life of a Torian. That is until he realizes the charming and seductive werewolf, Orion, makes him feel more alive than any mission he’s ever completed. Long ago, he gave up his title and status as a vampire aristocrat to serve High Lord Valadon in New York. There was only one He has to produce an heir. Now he must choose where his loyalty truly lies - with his lineage or with the one he loves.
This edition contains the bonus story, Deals with Devils, which takes place between Book 2—Veil of Mists and Book 3—Veil of Darkness.
Diana Marik is the award-winning author of the romantic urban fantasy series, The Seven Deadly Veils. She grew up in New York City and has her MA in English literature from Hofstra University. A history buff, Diana loves discovering museums in whatever city she happens to be visiting. Her favorite spots to visit are in the American Southwest, but she considers New Orleans her home away from home.
Book 6 of The Seven Deadly Veils series focuses on best friends, Orion – werewolf, sexy, superstar singer, and one of House Valadon’s trusted allies -- and Bastien (Bas for short) – elite Torian Guard for House Valadon and former member of the vampire aristocracy in Europe as Sebastien de Rosemont, a life he abandoned when he left his family in Paris to join High Lord Valadon’s Court in America. As we’ve seen in the previous books, Orion and Bas are very close and have been dancing around being more than friends. Their attraction to each other and their chemistry is off the charts. Their sex appeal is so hot – and so are all of the innuendos, including the ones involving Bastien’s old friend, Jules, who we meet in this book along with his friend Elan. But can a werewolf and a vampire find their happily ever after when there are those who would go to extremes to make sure that doesn’t happen? Orion and Bas must decide what they both really want and must fight their enemies to get it. Be prepared for lots of steam, laughs, fun, and anxious moments and a section that broke my heart. We are also treated to a couple of brief appearances by Remare and Miranda, who I so love. All in all, another fantastic story in Ms. Marik’s Veilverse. I’m getting anxious because this is book 6, which means we may be coming to the end of the series very soon. I really don’t want it to end – it’s one of my favorite vampire series.
This was certainly a spicy romance. Seeing how Bas and Orion grow closer as their friendship turns into a much deeper romance was exciting to see. Orion is a character you just want to wrap your arms around and the songs he composes for his love were heartwarming. No wonder Bas nicknames him his Starfire. And Bas shows his courage when he is forced to make life-altering decisions under the worst possible circumstances.
Another character I found charismatic was the enigmatic Jules. What a fun character. You could feel his intense desire for Orion, but represses it out of loyalty to Bas. With each chapter we found out more and more about him and I certainly hope Marik gives him his own book.
Veil of Orion was my first read in this series and by this author. I think it works fine as a standalone read, but it really whet my appetite to go back and read the rest of the series. A werewolf superstar singer and an elite vampire have been friends for a long time, but could there be more? Many challenges stand in their way from their own uncertainties to outsider disapproval to a 'little' obligation for the vampire, Bastien, to sire an heir. There is action, intrigue, angst, some humor, and plenty of steamy scenes. In the end, will Bastien choose love, or will his duty to House Valadon prevail?

I love this series! I love the character build-up and the stories are always fabulous! Bas and Orion's story is heartbreaking at times and I could feel Orion's desperation in his longing for Bas. The passion between them was amazing!
But, let's talk about Jules.... I am so intrigued by him and want to read his story! This Vamp has some serious moves (wink wink).
I really love this author's writing style and hope that more and more people read her books! I can't wait to read the next book in the series, I've already downloaded it!!!!

Orion’s star is rising, and he has realized his dream of singing at Royal Albert Hall in London but the dream that is still evading him is the one where Bastien (Bas) an elite Torian soldier will be willing to take the next step in taking their relationship from friend to lovers. The heat between the two is fierce but Bas worries that Orion would lose half his fans if it was revealed he had a male lover.
Well, Bas tried but his desire for Orion became too much to ignore and Orion’s second dream has come true. They are enjoying time together in Paris until they must travel to visit Bas’s family, something Orion is not thrilled about. Bas’s father treats Orion with kindness but mommy dearest doesn’t even try to hide her distaste for him and her hatred for werewolves. As if Bas’s mom isn’t bad enough to deal with his sister from Hell Isabelle comes and she doesn’t hide her hatred for Orion or her brother.
Isabelle has plans for Orion which include hiring an assassin. Her plans to destroy Orion will also cause extreme anguish for Bas, a win win. Trying to make the best out of a bad situation Bas and Orion try to ignore the hatred and fcus on their love, easier said than done when the woman Bas once loved makes an appearance. The only person aside from Bas that gives Orion a sense of security is Bas’s childhood friend Jules who doesn’t hide his lust for Orion.
Is a lasting relationship possible for a werewolf and a vampire, one will live forever, and one will age and die just one more reason Bas was afraid of allowing his feelings for Orion to grow fearing he will one day lose him and was pretty sure he would not survive it.
Amazing, six full novels, one novella and Ms. Marik is still able to surprise me, didn’t think it was possible, she proved me wrong. Surprises, secrets, violence, sex, amazing characters, well that covers everything I could want from a paranormal romance.
I loved this book! This is the first book I've read by this author, but I need to go back and read the rest of this series. Not doing so it out of the question. The chemistry between Bas and Orion was scorching! It wasn't a question of if there would be more between them, but when. I just loved their relationship. They were already such good friends and had a close bond, but it was clear both wanted more were just nervous about ruining the friendship they had. Orion is a werewolf and a talented singer with a soaring career. Bastian is a vampire and an elite Torian Guard for House Valadon. But as much as they want each other, some big obstacles are thrown in their way and Bas has some life-altering choices to make. This story was exciting, adventurous, and sexy. And even unexpected at times. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't wait to read the other books (and I hope Jules will get his own book!). 5 stars.
Bastien and Orion were enchanting in this suspenseful novel as they are on assignment in France. Family tensions run high as Bas brings Orion home to his aristocratic family, some of whom don't approve of Orion and make life difficult for Bas.
Bas has always put loyalty to House Valadon first and his love for Orion is tested as his father makes him an offer that has him questioning his priorities.
Danger lurks closer than either Bas or Orion suspects and it's good they have a friend in the charismatic Jules, who finds Orion intriguing and desires him maybe more than he should. Loyalty and love are prevalent throughout the novel as our heroes try to navigate the waters of their passion. Looking forward to Marik's next novel and hope to see more of Jules, who deserves his own book.
This story has action, intrigue, and plenty of great chemistry. Bas and Orion have a ton of obstacles to work through (it's not easy for a werewolf and a vampire to be together in the world of the novel, for a variety of reasons). Watching their story unfold can be exciting, surprising, hot, and occasionally, a bit confusing, but overall, it's a heck of a ride. While the main relationship stands alone, this is part of a series, so you might be interested in checking out earlier books as well.

This story has action and sizzling chemistry. Bastien and Orion have many obstacles to work through to love each other. Although their friendship was strong, both wanted more but hesitated to ruin what they had.
Orion is a werewolf and a singer, his career taking off. Bastian is a vampire, part of the elite dangerous Torian Guard for House Valadon. When he gave up his aristocratic title to serve High Lord Valadon, he had one stipulated requirement. Now he must produce an heir. Will he choose to follow his lineage? Or will he choose the werewolf he loves?
I loved Veil of Orion by Diana Marik. It's the sixth book in The Seven Deadly Veils series. I loved Bastian and Orion. They were perfect together and had some hot scenes. I also loved the side characters like Jules, Miranda, and Remare so much that I can't wait to start reading the series from the beginning since I came into this series at the sixth book. I also enjoyed the bonus short story at the end that takes place between book two and book three.

I`m not one to read vampire books and I had a bit of trouble reading this one. Hence the 4 stars only. Not sure it was a vampire book at all. Maybe you can make up your own mind with the book. The story did flow from the start to the finish. The characters worked well together. I`m not sure I can recommend the book for others that are over the age of 18+ I`m still on the fence with this book.

An enjoyable read. This is book six in this Seven Deadly Veils series and my first. This is a new author for me and I am looking forward to read more. The story flows well, the characters are interesting and fit well together.
Diana Marik is a new author to me. And I wasn’t disappointed. Veil of Orion had great plot, interesting narrative arc and multi-dimensional characters.

I love the happenings of this world. Even without reading every book before this one I could still follow along. I love the journey to their love and watching them finally get their HEA. There are a few questions I have left. Like what happens to Caleb once he grows up? Especially with what happened at the end. Did Miranda and Bas truly make up how is that gonna work. The writing was great, the smexy was HAWT and the side characters were great. I hope V gets his story. I’m no an MMM reader but I found myself hoping he would be able to be with Bas and Orion. Wonder who his love would be
This is the 6th book of Seven Deadly Veils Series. We Bas who once on top and now a Elite Torian Guard. We have Starfire (Orion) the talent singer wolf.Things are not all they seem in Sebastien family. Who wants Orion dead may be closer then you think. This story takes us on wonderful journey of good and bad. This was wonderful characters written within this story.Love the steamy and hot Orion and the scenes with his love Bas. Highly recommend this book and series if you love vampires and Wolves
Orion and Bas' love story ignites in this book. We see how their friendship matures into a full out romance where each is forced to realize the repercussions of being together may have long lasting results. Ms. Marik really turns up the heat in this book showing us the unbridled passion between the two. Be prepared for some shocking and unexpected scenes. I'm hoping Marik gives newcomer Jules his own book. He is definitely a fascinating and intriguing character, one I hope to see more of.

Veil of Orion by Diana Marik is the sixth book in her Seven Deadly Veils series. Once again this author treats us to the machinations of evil vampires who are outsmarted by the good guys and gals. There's plenty of action in this story as well as intricate plots and intrigue. I really enjoyed it.
