This was an enjoyable read. One night Elizabeth is out with her friend. They are at a strip club and she meets Danny. Elizabeth needs to keep her life private due to who she is. As the book goes on we find out Danny isn't everything he pretends to be. Thankfully after everything comes out they are able to fix their relationship and get a happy ending.

D.H. Gibbs has written a 5-star book. Elizabeth and her friend Aubrey have gone out to a strip club to take Aubrey's mind off her break-up and this is where Elizabeth meets Danny. Danny is one of the strippers and he is outside when Elizabeth and Aubrey leave the club. While they are waiting for their cab, Aubrey gets sick. Danny asks if she needs any help with her? She tells him no, he then asks how she is going to get her inside once they get home? He helps to get Aubrey in the cab and then gets in to and goes with Elizabeth to help get Aubrey in the house. After Elizabeth gets Aubrey taken care of, she goes to deal with Danny. Things get heated and they spend the night together. Danny is gone when Aubrey wakes Elizabeth up the next morning. Elizabeth and Aubery are at Elizabeth's mom's house for Sunday brunch and Elizabeth is not happy when her ex-boyfriend Charles shows up. Things do not go well with him. He tells her he thinks that she meant for the break-up to be real. She tells him that she was serious about the break-up, she doesn't want anything more to do with him. He is about to hit her when one of her mom's servants comes in to save her. Danny is at Cotton Industries doing some work on the wires for the servers when he runs into problems. After he speaks to Mr. Wesley, the person who called him and telling him that he was lied to about what needed to be done, the contract needed to be reworked. Elizabeth is informed about this and she calls for the contractor's from Neoken Computing to come to her office. She is shocked to find Danny coming into her office. Danny tells her what is going on with the wiring to her servers and what it would cost to complete the job. After a few days, they start seeing each other. Things go fine until something is said and Danny walks away form her. They get back together and again things are fine until somehow the press finds out who Danny really is and he thinks that Elizabeth told them. Again Danny walks away from her. This time things are bad for Elizabeth, Charles has a video of her and Danny and he is using it to get what he wants. Elizabeth finds out who put Charles up to the blackmail and she has to go along with it until she can prove it.
Will Elizabeth get to keep her company? Can she give Danny a second chance?
Can Danny prove to Elizabeth how sorry he is and get a second chance with her?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

This book is really nice, sweet, and sexy. The action happens fast, at first; then the main story comes into play. It is fairly predictable, but I enjoyed it much more than I first expected. I only gave it four stars bc the sexy times started fairly hot, but then I was really eating more explicit writing on the “finish”, if you know what I mean. But, in this time of crisis, it was a welcome break from plot lines that involve a lot of suffering before the main characters “get together”. The main character is a young woman from a prominent family who is still trying to make her name known as good enough to control her family’s company; the sexy love interest is attempting to do the very opposite and make his own way NOT using the family name. Attraction and eventually love ensue, with an abusive ex factoring in before they find a way to “find” their own balance with their lives. The only thing I would ask for is somewhat hotter sex scenes, and some reciprocal action from her to him (wink.wink, if you know what I mean) but I was very pleasantly surprised with the book and it is a great read. I received a free copy in exchange for the review, but it is definitely worth buying for the young, romantic, type.

When Lizzy and her best friend Aubrey go to a strip club to have fun, Danny’s dance leaves them begging for more. When their taxi arrives, Danny assists Lizzy by carrying an unconscious Aubrey to the spare bedroom. Sizzling sparks fly between Lizzy and Danny. After a night of passion, Lizzy and Danny can’t stop thinking about each other. As they get to know each other better, secrets and skeletons remain hidden. Will Lizzy be able to keep the family business from the clutches of sniveling cowards and opportunists, Will Danny be able to face and be honest with his past, or everything crumble and rip Lizzy and Danny apart?

I found this book to be an entertaining read. Ms. Gibbs drew me in and kept me enraptured from the beginning. I found Fireflies & Strippers to be a fun and enjoyable read. The characters were real and engaging while the plot was engrossing and consistently developing. There may be some triggers in this story. I highly recommend this book to those 18+ due to violence and sexual scenes. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is the story of Elizabeth and Danny. Elizabeth is the CEO of their family business and Danny is a part-time stripper but also has his own venture. Elizabeth is walking on egg shells with her board because one false move and she knows that board will take her off as CEO and will just be a figurehead of the company. Danny, being a part-time stripper and someone who was supposed to be not within Elizabeth's circle, has his own secret to with regards to his family. This is the reason why they can't be open with their relationship. Outings, misunderstandings and schemes happened and soon enough, their positions were compromised. I like the characters. Elizabeth seemed weak at first but her strength really stood out in the end. Danny had his own faults, being quick to judge but soon realized his mistake. I just wish there was more of them in the end. All in all this is a light read, a nice love story that will leave you feeling good. I am looking forward to reading Aubrey's story. Aubrey is Elizabeth's loyal best friend.

Man i loved this book. You get the world classed drama of dealing with a crazy Ex, a one night stand that isn't. a BFF who's going thru a break up, and trying to keep the company's reputation intact. Lets not forget about the blackmail. Elizabeth comes face to face with her one night stand when a problem arise at work while Danny is working on the wiring for their servers. When the problem is more than was originally stated in the contract it needed to be rework. thus his meeting with the CEO Elizabeth. Their attraction is still there but so is some underhanded stuff going on behind the scene. When something is said Danny walks away but they get back together. When the press gets involved he walks away again. This is when then blackmail comes in from the dirt bag Ex. I did mention drama. you will love this book.

Danny is a stripper and meets Elizabeth one night when she is at the strip club enjoying a night on the town with a girlfriend. Liz comes off as a stick in the mud at first but things heat up quickly with Danny. Danny is not who he seems at first and has a reputable day job which is where he bumps into Liz again. The mystery around Danny's background is a bit transparent in the plot but I enjoyed his character. Liz is the target of the board of directors of her family company. I liked the fact that Liz and Danny ultimately end up on even ground and she stands up for herself and doesn't allow a bunch of old men to push her around and Danny helps her. A very enjoyable afternoon read with plenty of steam.

This story about Elizabeth Calhoun, heir to Cotton Industries who goes out to a stripper club to console her friend, Aubrey's break up with her ex. and who hooks up for a one night stand with Danny who moonlights as a stripper, was a delightful story to read. Elizabeth is thrown into a loop when Danny shows up at her company because she drawn to Danny, but to see Danny she has to keep it secret. Elizabeth's mom wants her to settle down with Charles a man she chose and is engaged to.. Elizabeth because of her position is worried about propriety while Danny is estrange from his prominent family..Torn between both her mother wishes and her heart desires, what will she choose? The characters were very likable and the chemistry simmering in this romantic story that was very enjoyable to read and review via booksprout.

Elizabeth is known as The Princess of Cotton having to maintain a certain image because the media is always hounding her and there are people in her company trying to squeeze her out because she is a woman. While a night out with her friend at a strip club she finds herself at the end of the night needing Danny's (a stripper) help with her drunken friend. An argument at the end of the night turns to passion, but Elizabeth wakes up alone. Then fate steps in and brings them together and they decide to secretly see each other. But how long can secrets remain secrets. I really enjoyed this book. There was a manipulative ex, backstabers, secrets, lies, blackmail and love. My favorite part was when she had to face the board members that were trying to push her out of her CEO position. Can't wait to read Aubrey's story next.

This book is an interesting twist on Austen’s Pride & Prejudice!
I sincerely love the fact that Elizabeth has taken over her family’s company and is fighting tooth and nail to keep it. Danny is definitely an interesting and complicated character. I love that he stayed true to himself. The chemistry between them was great! Although, at first, I had a hard time believing that prom and proper Elizabeth would jump into a “situation” with Danny as quickly as she did.
I liked the friendship between Elizabeth and Aubrey, and I’m looking forward to Aubrey’s book. The relationship between Danny and Thea was completely adorable!
I’m over the moon at how Mrs. Calhoun handled Charles at the end!

This is Book 1 in the Reckless Billionaire Romance Series and my first read by this author, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. I quite enjoyed the storyline and the characters. It is a steamy, angsty romance between Elizabeth and Danny. What starts out as a one night of passion turns into something more. It is a love story with combustible attraction, frustrating moments, family dynamics, danger and violence, twists and turns. Overall, it has the perfect amount of everything - sexual tension and chemistry, action and drama, engaging secondary characters, and a happy ending. A great start to the series.

Fireflies and strippers ARC review-
A fast paced steamy hot romance, forbidden and dangerous in the best way possible . A few editing issues, which occasionally made the reading less smooth. I did wonder if I had inadvertently skip a few pages when the scenes changed and; I couldn’t immediately account for how we arrived to the scene unfolding in the new chapter. It was later explained but left me feeling disjointed. However, the story is a lovely romance with a strong female character allowing her male counterpart room to grow. Overall , I enjoyed the story. I feel certain the next book about these characters will add depths and allow me to feel a little more connected to their lives.

This book was a awesome and fun read. I loved all the aspects of the book. I loved that it felt like a Romeo and Juliet novel. I loved that it was a sort of war about going with you heart versus going with your proper family ties. I felt the author gave everyone a huge surprise about who Danny really was. Liz always walked too on the tight rope of life. She needed to let lose and be free sometimes. I'm really glad she had family and friends she thought who didn't have her back. It showed that family feelings were first and not always the proper southern way is the only way.

Enter in a stripper named Danny who is not all that he seems! Hot sex, blackmail, assault, being CEO and possibly Love have made a seemingly ordinary life anything but. Can Elizabeth fight for what she wants and find happiness?

She wants to be successful but has her hands full as the Board of Director’s are full of the good old boys that think men run the world and make the rules and women should be at home watching the kids! She goes with a friend to a strip club to relax and sees Danny stripping! They get together but he has secrets that he keeps to himself. She’s at work and to her shock Danny walks in asking about a contract with his tech company! They get to talk but what will happen if the Board finds out about them?

I loved reading this book from a new author to me.
I loved the chemistry between Elizabeth and Danny but she fights against a relationship with him as she thinks he is a stripper. The board of her family business are just waiting to remove her from the company.
Danny is keeping a big secret from her but will it make a difference when she finds out.
So much drama with plenty of emotion but can they fight for the love when her abusive ex gets in the way.
A must read. Looking forward to reading Aubreys book.

A well written story about 2 people that fight for what they want against pressures from society and other conniving people. I LOVE THIS STORY! With aspects that are very relatable, I was hooked from the first chapter. From personal insecurities to horrible ex's, I couldn't put this book down, I felt for the leading lady. I don't relate to high society, but I could feel how she felt and the pressures she was under. That is a sign of a great author!

I can't wait to read the next book!

Elizabeth will do anything to keep her dad's memory alive by making the family business profitable. Meeting and taking a stripper home is not part of that plan. Danny is not Lizzy expects a stripper to be when he walks into her office to demand an update to the contract work his IT company is doing. Keeping secrets is the norm for Lizzy and Danny but when those secrets are exposed will the Princess get her King?

This was a fun story and I really enjoyed the characters. It follows the pretty standard format; a couple of rich girls go out for a wild night and end up being helped by a stripper and the least unlikely of the friends ends up falling in bed with him. Their paths cross down the road and they have a connection that pulls them together. Of course it has it's ups and downs, some drama but it has a HEA. The story is going to continue with Aubrey's journey to find love, so while this is a complete story, we get to continue on with the characters in future stories.

This is the first time I reading a book by D.H.Gibbs and I am finding it to be a very enjoyable book. Ms. Gibbs has a way of describe exactly what she wants her reader to see and feel. Like the pain and anguish both the main characters feel about their lives, their families and the companie, that influenced the decision they have to make. This book is a must read book for your summer reading, while sitting by the pool, collecting rays.

What started out as nothing but fun, turned into an entire book!  If you think this story is the typical stripper and the rich girl, you are sorely mistaken. It is so much more. There are various threads weaving throughout and they are all written very well. 

This book was sweet, sexy and contains some awesome female empowerment.

This is a unique and interesting story with drama and humor and fun. The drama hits hard in places and keeps you on your toes. I like Elizabeth a lot for her strength and her drive. I like Danny for his snark and his fun. The secondary characters are important and have pivotal roles in the story. Itbis a quiet little story that packs a heavy punch.

I was swept into the lives of the people from the first. Maybe because I'd been to strip clubs on male dancer night.The story reads quickly but it covers all the bases. It isn't rushed, the characters are well rounded, the world is rich and contemporary, and the story of Danny and Liz is captivating.

Wow I enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and engaging with undeniable chemistry between the couple which made for a great storyline that kept me entertained throughout the pages.
