Best friends Bunbun and Bonbon go hunting for some luck in this young graphic novel. A bad-luck day turns into an epic quest in the second book in this graphic novel series starring a chipper young bunny and a fancy talking candy.

Did someone say unicorn? When Bunbun and Bonbon are having a bad day, they consult Scout Von Fluffington (a fox) for advice. In this new graphic from Jess Keating, they will also meet Tom, the Duck, and Rosie Stardrop Sparklepants. She will not only take them for a ride, but also teaches them to count their blessings to chase off the gloomies. As with the first installment, the illustrations are super cute and engaging. I hope we get to see more Bunbun & Bonbon.
Thank you to Graphix and Edelweiss+ for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.
It is a very silly book. It is so funny. Bunbun & Bonbon hopes to find there good luck. There are three books in this series RN this is the second book.......There is nothing else I hope you find your luck in this book.
In this graphic novel Bunbun and Bonbon realize they are having a bad luck day. They want to get their luck back so they ask their friend Scout von Fluffington the fox for help. He suggests they set a trap to catch their luck. Bunbun and Bonbon do not catch their luck but they do catch a duck. Tom the duck suggests that they float on cool water. This does not get their luck back either and they fall over a waterfall. They then meet Rosie Stardrop Sparklepants the unicorn who teaches them that as long as you can find a reason to smile luck is never far away. In the end Bunbun and Bonbon ride away on Ms. Sparklepants back and realize that they found their luck. This book was not my favorite. I liked the colorful illustrations but I did not feel like there was much plot or character development throughout the book. I would likely not use this book in my classroom as I think there are better examples of graphic novels. If I did have this book in my classroom I would have it in a classroom library so children who were interested in it could look at it on their own.
I loved book #2 in the Bunbun & Bonbon series. In this edition, our two favorite characters have had one mishap after another. They then determine that they must have lost their luck and head off on a search to find it. They encounter friendly neighbor after neighbor, to no avail. It's only when they find a unicorn ("The luckiest animal in the world!") that they realize their good luck has been there all along.
This graphic novel series is so happy and colorful. Its simple language and short speech bubbles are the perfect fit for early readers (K-2) looking to navigate their first chapter book. Great add for classroom libraries and nighttime reading.
Thanks to the author, Scholastic and Edelweiss for an early copy to review.
When Bunbun and Bonbon hit a streak of bad things happening to them, they start to worry that they've lost their luck and go on a hunt to find it again.
I like that the solution to the bad day is something that really does help you get into a better mental state, thinking of things that you are grateful for. The artwork is cute, and the quest is more silly than serious. Hand this to beginning readers looking for a silly read with a touch of cute and unicorns.
Notes on content: The characters fall down a waterfall at one point but end up fine.
Once again, the child I'm reading this with has given it "5 stars" in the journal we're recording her reads in. Actually, she added to the rating - so it has a "5 Stars +1000". Personally, i'm still not as totally convinced, so I'm giving it like.. a 4.5
I loved all the added characters in this book, if nothing but for their ridiculous and lengthy names that made my friend squint and laugh when she read them. This series is definitely a fun one for the timid "learning-to-read-ers", and it just keeps getting more wacky and fun! And now there's a unicorn! What could possibly be next?
Bunny and Bonbon are having a bad day and so they conclude that their good luck ran out. How can they get their good luck back again? They hatch humorous plans to do so and it all ends up in a pretty fantastic way with a unicorn to boot.
The illustrations and colors are so cute in this graphic novel. With a bunny, a bonbon, bright pastel-ish colors and a unicorn added on, what is there not to like?
Can the Bunbun & Bonbon books get cuter and melt your heart and make you find your own luck? Yes, yes, they can. This book is delightful, magical - and also honest about the unlucky times and sad feelings. I literally cannot wait to read it aloud - and share it with young people. A perfect book for your Elephant & Piggie fans eager for more stories of adventure and friendship.
Bunbun is a bunny, and Bonbon is a bonbon, and they are best friends that have adventures together. When Bunbun can’t catch donuts, they decide they’ve lost their luck and go searching for it. They meet a fox, a duck, and a unicorn, and realize luck=happiness=friendship. Obviously an adorable book. Like a graphic reader, with slightly harder words. 62 pages. This is going to hop off the shelves.
More sweet sparkly fun. In volume 2, Bunbun and Bonbon are having an unlucky day. Their luck has run off and they are trying to find it and trap it. They enlist the help of friends Tom the Duck and Scout von Fluffington but it isn’t until the luckiest creature ever shows up that things turn around.
Another great buddy-duo graphic novel, great for fans of Narwhal and Jelly or the more recent Pizza and Taco. After so many instances where nothing goes right, they realize that maybe they lost their luck somewhere and need to find it.
Cute book and a good early reader addition. The story for this one is actually better than the first in the series in my view and does a better job at conveying a little bit of a moral lesson. Super cute illustrations of course.
Bunbun and Bonbon have lost their luck. Will they be able to get it back? They ask their friends Scout Von Fluffington, Tom the duck, and Rosie Stardrop Sparhlepants the unicorn for help. Is there a good-luck trap and a waterfall involved? Read the story to find out!
Early reader graphic novel - perfect for my visual learner who is having a really hard time with reading. Bonus that the message was better than expected.
My 9 year old son read this (and the first in the series) and immediately passed both on to me! We both thought it was very cute! The illustrations are adorable and the story is both sweet and funny!
This was super cute. All the characters were very expressive and fun while looking for their luck. The names got me rolling. This was a very pleasant read!
