Almost Perfect

Kaia

I can't date a player.
Not my own choice, but one my overprotective, overbearing, NHL playing brothers decided for me.
It wasn't worth the stress, so I stayed away.
Except for one night.
In my defense, I had no idea that the guy I kissed in the dark was a Lion—a player for my school's rival ice hockey team.
After that, I vowed to stay away.
Only, fate had other ideas and had us going to the same college where Maddoc Dass made it his mission to irritate the life out of me.
But, I wouldn’t stand for it, or his obnoxious, cheating ass.
When our best friends demanded we get along, I slowly realized that not everything was as I'd thought.
There was a lot more to Maddoc Dass than I’d ever known.
Was discovering who he was off the ice worth the risk?

Maddoc

Pissing off Kaia Levine was my mission.
Seeing her cheeks flush with anger, and her temper making her eyes blaze was a job well done.
I knew messing with her was a risk. Her brothers were weirdly overprotective and sent out warnings to all us players that in no uncertain circumstances were we to go near their baby sister.
Yeah, that didn't work for me.
Was I crazy? Yeah
But was she worth it?
Definitely.
I had to prove that night we met in person wasn't a mistake.
I just had to find a way to do it.
When that opportunity presented itself, I played it like the sharpest blade on the ice.
And hell was it fantastic.
I only hoped that when Kaia found out why, she didn't hate me all over again.

Almost Perfect is a 112k word standalone, hot, sweet, heartwarming romance novel, and is strictly for mature readers.
There are scenes that include fighting, swearing, and immature personalities.
No cheating, and guaranteed HEA.

More than Almost Perfect

I can’t express how great this book is. I'm a reader not a writer.
I love the dynamic of their relationship and how they seemed to grow even closer, and that's just the friendship between Daria and Kaia.

Kaia and Maddoc are a league of their own ❤ Cupcake and her Donut, *sigh*

This book was full of banter, page turning events and a whole lot of love (when they accepted it)

What a great story. Kaia's brothers are professional hockey players, so she has stayed away from hockey players. They are overly protective of her and would scare away any male she would try to date. Her friend talks her into going to a party where she learns that the captain of the hockey team has his eye set on her. When the lights intentionally go out she ducks into a closet to avoid him. The closet is occupied by Maddoc who slipped in there to make a phone call. They kiss and the sparks fly. She doesn't know who he is but he knows her. They go to the same college and her torments her. I enjoyed the witty banter and the playfulness between these two. It is great when Maddoc stands up to her brothers. I am definitely going to read more from Dawn Doyle.

Nice story

I enjoyed reading this book about hockey and it's players, girlfriends, and love. Kaia was a cute character who's brothers were totally over protective. The only thing I was disappointed in was Kaia's parents always talking about her brothers and never asking about her, yet at the end they are part of this big production that felt self-serving to me, despite Mad setting it up. Why was that point not fleshed out?

I’m holding off on my review until I finish the book but I’m struggling. The storyline is fine but the main character is in college and obsessed with the Backstreet Boys...I’m having a hard time with this. It’s 2020 not 2000. What college girls are listening to and raving about their “sexy lyrics”? It’s not just one or two references so it keeps making me laugh.

So many clichés. The misunderstanding, the lack of communication, the "secret" with the potential to ruin everything...all came together brilliantly to tell a really entertaining story. Where can I get me a Maddox of my own?

Oh my godddd

This story was so stinking cute!!! Maddoc Dass is such a perfect man and I hate that he has raised the bar for every other book boyfriend on the planet!!! No one else will ever be as good as he is !!!

Nice

Wasn't sure I'd like this as it started out. The guys were so disrespectful of girls. I liked his humour and it grew on me but I could see how it affected her. This is a really sweet story full of surprises. I usually read rock and roll cause I love music and my family is musical so it was a surprise to have it in here too. Too bad it never showed Maddoc's parents. They were never there. Also her parents should have had more interesting in their daughter. Great ending but would love to see the challenges of school ending and dealing with fans or a persistent female.

Good YA book. Sweet and full of college drama

I like the main character guy, he was a sweet almost perfect man, I didn't so much like the way the main lead female character was portrait so much. I like strong, take action female characters. I loved the ending. It kind of made up for the reat of the books theme that i wasnt 100% happy with. I'm not much into weak female characters and she just didn't do it for me but aside from that I love the side characters and the MUSIC!!!

It was really sweet and aaalmost perfect - but for the final "twist" aka conflict between the main characters.. that was really lame.
