Dragon Point #7

Dragon Mage

Rate this book
"The end is nigh!" according to the media, which is fascinated by the four cloaked figures riding out of the desert. A headline that's about as believable as the existence of dragons.

Truth or hoax? Daphne isn't paying much attention because she's busy geeking out over the awesome relics that just came into her museum. She's giddy at the prospect of getting to see them up close, until she drops one.

In her defense, she was attacked...by a guy made of smoke. Things might have turned out really bad if she'd not been rescued by a stranger.

A man who is also a dragon.

Yup. Dragon. It turns out they are real and super hot. Azrael is also domineering and dangerous with the most toe-curling embrace.

But passion will have to wait. Azrael needs Daphne to help him save the world. With two of the seven seals broken, they will have to work fast before a monster is released from its prison.

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

An amphora is broken, four ominous riders appear in the desert and the dragons are convinced the end of the world is nigh. A new chapter in the Dragon Point series opens and I was excited to see where it would lead.
Dragon Mage is the seventh book in the series that works best in order though this book could be considered standalone since it starts a new series arc with all new leads and conflict.

Daphne is a museum curator who is a little lonely and something of a happy go lucky geek. She stumbles into and out of trouble mostly by chance. She easily slips into lust and then deeper attraction to the mysterious magic-wielding tough guy Azrael.
Azrael is the one with the big backstory and is suspected by the dragons as being one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse when he and others of his kind suddenly appear and ride out of the desert only to disappear into the world once again. Azrael is on a mission that has been a few thousand years in the making. He is out to stop a djinn-like race from being the real instigators of the apocalypse and he has sacrificed much to stop them. Now, he’s as anachronistic as the amphora and needs help navigating the modern world and he has chosen Daphne as his guide.
The Silvergrace dragons are never far away and don’t know exactly what is going on, but they know enough to support Daphne and Azrael- wanted or not. Where they appear, mayhem and hijinks seem to follow. I love that Elsie and Babbette are back.
Dragon Mage has some exciting moments, some snappy dialogue, and some searing hot sexy times, but it still had a sluggish feeling since it is starting a new series plot and has to introduce the newcomers and the new danger to the world. I like where it seems to be going, but did get distracted. Perhaps it was the romance element that only moderately interested me. I liked learning about Azrael’s type and the new enemy, but felt the romance was just there. The dragons in a scene livened things up nicely. I’ll watch to see where it goes from here after those tantalizing hints were left at the end.

Chandra Skye continues to narrate well and engaged me as a listener. A few of her male voices were very similar which was tough since they were all new to me and I had trouble sorting them at times.

All in all, it was an entertaining, quick listen and the humor was a great add to the action and spicy romance. Those who enjoy lighter paranormal romance should give this series a go.

My thanks to Tantor Audio for the opportunity to listen to the book in exchange for an honest review.

A Helping Hand!!!

Daphne , an archeologist who didn't have time to listen to rumors especially those about the existence of Dragons. All she care about was the relics that were coming to her museum. She couldn't contain her excitement, she was dying to see them up close. She got her change but she dropped one after getting attacked by something/someone.

Her attacker didn't get to cause any damage cause she was saved by a handsome as sin stranger. Who turned out to be a Dragon shifter in desperate need of her help in saving the world.

Azrael, a Dragon shifter who'd volunteered to go into hibernation only to awaken to the fact that there's a change of a great evil being unleashed unto the world. They needed to work together to stop the evildoers.

Loved how Daphne wasn't too impressed with those from the past, she found them to be rude and arrogant. Yet she was intrigued by Azrael who turned out to be more than beneath the eyes. As they got to know each other, they discovered that there was a deep connection between them.

It was great to catch up with the Silvergraces and their extended family. I'm looking forward to Babette getting her own story soon-ish ;).

DRAGON MAGE is the seventh installment in Eve Langlais'  DRAGON POINT  series. It was humorous, action-packed, enthralling and captivating. Eve Langlais had me on the edge of my seat. 5++++

I wish for the next book to be done now!!!

Darn it my wish didn’t work. Oh well settle in and let me tell you a story. Well not really but I’ll tell you I absolutely loved this story. I can’t wait for the next book! This was Daphne and Azrael’s story. Daphne a museum curator just got in some new fascinating artifacts. When a smoky man shows up she thinks she’s dreaming then a sexy man shows up to save her. What’s a girl to do well try to get some nookie of course but even in her dream she can’t get any. Azrael has been trapped for three thousand years, when the enemy is finally sent free so is he and the last of the dragon mages. When he sees the little human arguing with the Shaitan he thinks she’s either brave or dumb. When he finds he can’t easily let the human go he confused. When all heck break loose he will have to decide, save the girl or save the world. Can he do both? Can he trust the silver dragons to help? Can Daphne survive long enough to find love and maybe some nookie?

I love these books! They're super fun and with a guaranteed HEA for the couple. It's easy reading but also full of humour, excitement, adventure and also smart, brave heroines and their deliciously alpha heroes. Highly recommend this series from Eve!

fantastically creative storytelling

I’m dead. Just completely dead. I thought the previous book, Demon Walking, was my favorite, but this book definitely just tied. There was so much action, unexpected twists, fantastically creative storytelling, and characters that I completely adore. I could not put this book down, I was completely sucked in. I literally laughed out loud at times, my husband looking at me like I’m crazy. Fabulous job, Mrs. Langlais. I hate that I have to wait 6 months for the next book.

A wish

Daphne was trying to put a display together of artifacts. Smoke enters the room and turns into a man. Another man comes and fights with the first. A bottle breaks and now there are two made of smoke, but they escape. Daphne has an obsession with dragons. Little does she know she is about to meet two of them. Azrael has been released from his prison three thousand years later. All because an artifact got broken and a genie escaped. Now he needs to find a way to either contain they or destroy them. Then he rescues Daphne and now he is torn between what has to be done and what he wants. Can they stop the genies from taking over the planet? Will Azrael and Daphne get a chance to find love? Come on in and find out.

I took major two things away from this book – first, I made a horrible mistake because I’m going to have to wait months for the next book in the series, and two, smurfs are apparently real! But really, I loved that this series has a bit of an edge, a bite to it, and that grows with each book. Azrael and Daphne are thrown together, literally, and never really separate once that happens. Sometimes that is his choice, others it is hers, but they connect, and continue to grow closer throughout the book. Their mismatched communication brings some laughs, and their attraction certainly brings some heat. The suspenseful part for them is over for now, but the story arc is just getting started!

Really good book! I always enjoy the humor written into this author's books. This one didn't make me laugh quite as much as some of her others, but I still found a few funny scenes. It's not often you get to read a book that references the Smurfs. haha.

Azrael is just trying to save the world. Daphne is just trying to save the relics from her museum. I hadn't read any of the other dragon books in this series. I could tell that the side characters were from other books, but I didn't feel anything detracted from me enjoying the story.

I would definitely recommend. Now I need to read some of the other dragon stories. :)

Dragon Mage

This latest book in the series is exciting and filled with action and a few light hearted moments. This author 's imagination is beyond brilliant. In this story Daphne works in a museum that has obtained an ancient artifact which when cracked released ancient evil beings who want to destroy and take over the world. Then Azrael , who is an ancient 3000 yr old dragon mage, comes to her rescue and her life will never be the same again. A great book.

Eve does it again. You think the story is going one way and suddenly she dreams up an new scenario.

The action, adventure and crazy characters are all top notch, as always.

Add in a wish or two, an explanation that smurfs are real and a bit of word play with the names and you have a brilliant tale with a perfect HEA.

Good Story!!

Well this was certainly a good one. Azrael and Daphne worked together well. I’m glad they found the love they were missing. Boy 2 more stories left in the series which means all this needs to be settled. Babette and Jeebrelle coming up but the real story is with Maalik. Can’t wait for her to have her chance at happines as well as him. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

I read this on a whim. Not any of the others. I liked the MCs but the other characters were super annoying. The premise of the story was actually pretty decent. And I enjoyed how the story unfolded albeit rather short.

Ooh, what an interesting twist in the overall storyline. Yet also with the idea of the Apocalypse! But there are so many stories left in this series. I can't wait for Babbette's.

Not my favorite of the series but it was a nice change. Wish it was longer as I didn't really 'feel' the love between the two MCs by the end.
