Against All Odds
Before Jess leaves Wildcat in Summerlin, Texas, he receives a wire from United States Marshal Frank Reedy. He is assigned to hunt down the vicious outlaw, Pearly Bullock, and deliver him to Stratton, Texas…alive. The fact that Shadow stays with him when he leaves Summerlin is a clue as to how hard the assignment is going to be.
As unhappy as he is with the idea of bringing Bullock in alive, things become worse when every bounty hunter finds out the reward is twenty-five thousand dollars. Every gunslinger and bounty hunter worth his salt begins hunting for Bullock, getting in Jess’s way at every turn.
His job of getting Pearly back to Stratton alive becomes a difficult task, but he finds help in another gunslinger turned bounty hunter. They team up, but as things get worse, Jess begins to wonder if he should just shoot Pearly himself and be done with it.
As they make their way to Stratton, they run into one problem after another, leaving a trail of dead bodies behind them. Jess begins to worry more about whether or not he’ll get to Stratton alive, much less get Pearly there.

Pretty good story about Jess taking a prisoner, alive for hanging, back to Stratton, TX. With the high bounty on the prisoner's hear, there are many along the way trying to take the prisoner away from Jess to claim the bounty as their own.

As good as it gets!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was the best of the 85 I've read so far. Don't want the series to end. Love that Shadow.

Well here we are again folks on the trail 👣searching for Pearly Bullock who raped and strangled a daughter of Senator Mark Lusk, a powerful man from Washington, DC with powerful friends. Among his powerful friends is Senator John Thibadough who knows U.S.Marshal Frank Reedy who knows Jess Williams. That's why Jess is now U.S.Marshal
for this important assignment.
Jess and Ace Yardley who partnered with Jess and Shadow are on a life threatening trip back to Stratton, Texas WHERE Pearly Bullock will be strangled/hung with Senator Lusk pulling the REVENGE lever for his murdered daughter..what a HELL of away to leave this world, such as it is.
Jess, Ace, Shadow faced death the whole entire trip. Jess almost a gun fight..can't live forever..the
only reason that happened because of the stress he was under..Death is Death no way around it, when your time comes, you deal with it. Jess's good nature is shown again when he rescued the young girl who was being raped by one of the cow paddies another time he meets and old legend who folks thought had died ten years ago.
His name was Oden Bayley, Mountain Man, whom Jess have him two thousand dollars so that he can live the remainder of his life in Mexico..Jess is a millionaire who does good with his !money 💰💰thats why he continues to do better than most in with his quest of providing dirt blankets for those horrible men and women who commit horrendous acts toward their fellow human beings.
Guess what folks, Ace Yardley is now residing in Stratton, in a three bedroom, three baths on the same lake Jess's home is. Jess split the Twenty five thousand dollars that he received FOR delivering Pearly Bullock as requested by Frank Reedy.
He's retired and HAPPY ☺ and we need to shake his hand and pinch his cheek because he spent his part of the money for a roof over his head...smart
move. A place he can call his OWN..yes sir HIS own HOME.

RJT has penned the eighty-fifth novel in the Jess Williams Series. In this episode JW is tasked to return the murderer of a Senators daughter alive. The reward is $25k. JW acquires a partner who is also a bounty hunter. The two locate the man and begin to deliver the prisoner alive so the young girl he murdered can be hung by her father. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS (1577)

Senator's Request
A Senator personally requests that Jess bring in the man who raped and murdered his daughter. He wants him brought in alive so that he can personally do the hanging. When other bounty hunters learn about the large reward, it creates a dangerous operation for Jess to accomplish. Another suspense filled Western from Thomas. Looking forward to reading number fifty-six. I highly recommend this author.

One of the Best yet.
Great story of Jess having to catch a real bad man and take him back to Stanton to hang. He killed a U.S. Senator daughter and he wanted t pull the lever to avenge his daughter murder. Many people were trying to collect the $25,000 reward.

Great book
This was one of the best of the series in my humble opinion. After 85 books you get to the point that you can tell pretty much what is going to happen next and you really get to know the characters .
