HOT forbidden love story.
Shelly is the new training officer at the station she is beautiful & all the guys are go struck. Gary is asked to help demonstrate in the first session immediately there is an instant connection between them. They are both attracted to each other but there is a no fraternisation rule within the station so have to keep things professional between them. No matter how much they try the sexual chemistry is so intense they can't help but give in having the amazing hot sex. They tell each other they love them but then Shelly finds somethings out something knowing it will ruin everything she suddenly quits work & leaves without telling anybody. Gary is distraught not knowing what he did wrong & has no way of finding her falling into depression just existing not living until three years later when he is offered the job as Chief at another station. He accepts straight away wanting to put everything behind him ready for a fresh start but then he knocked for six when he is introduced to the training officer at the station. This book is fantastic it's full of hot sex, lots of emotions, definately recommend this.

Shelley is a broken woman after a tragedy that caused her to lose the love of her life and she also lost her job. She has a new job and a new start.
Gary is one of her co workers the first man she has found attractive since her lost and they both are part of a firefighter crew. Gary also has the hots for her. Gary is a veteran and he has the loner thing to him also like Shelley so they are somewhat alike in that way. They both have an attraction but working together and the no fraternizing rule.
These two can’t take their hands off one another which causes some consequences and Shelley runs away and poor Gary is so heartbroken, they both are but Shelley thinks that by doing this she is in some way protecting him. This story I could not put down because I just had to know what would occur with these two.

Shelley is starting over and meets Gary, who is part of her new firefighter crew. Sparks fly and even though they are not allowed to date, they can’t resist. Shelley ends up pregnant and runs. Now that her daughter is asking questions about her father, is it time that she told Gary the truth? Fast-paced read with lots of emotion. The characters have lots of depth and the story is entertaining. I liked it.

Sexy firefighter and a forbidden work romance.
Slow Burn by Bella Winters is the third stand alone book in the series (including the introductory prequel book). You can read each separately and the order doesn’t really matter except the prequel.
Gary is one of the senior firefighters in the department. He’s focused on his job and sometimes takes risks if it means saving someone else. He’s well respected at the station and has a very active life outside of work (bowling, softball, martial arts, poker) but mostly hangs out with the guys he works with.
Shelly is bored as the stations new trainer. She’s a real looker which several of the men don’t fail to notice. Only Gary catches her eye but there is a strict policy against fraternization and anyone caught breaking it risks loosing their job. Even though the attraction is mutual Shelly is determined not to give in.
Gary doesn’t mind taking risks and eventually Shelly does give in. Things seem to be going great until one day Shelly just up and disappears. Will Gary chase her, will he find her? And will he forgive her if he does?
This was a fast read. Great for a couple hours of downtime. The characters are engaging and entertaining. Shelly did tend to change her mind a lot. I’m glad she was able to find her way to an actual HEA.

I thought this was a well written book. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline there were times I found myself yelling at Shelly and Gary because they frustrated me to know end at times. I did enjoy it and am waiting patiently for the next book in the series.

My overall rating is 4.5, but as Goodreads doesn't permit a half, I rounded up. This is a short steamy story about a trainer and a senior firefighter that shouldn’t get together as they may lose their job. Gary is the senior firefighter and has always obeyed the rules; however, as everyone has noticed the new trainer is HOT. Shelly is the new trainer is somewhat bored but knows that is what her job is, unfortunately, she takes notice of Gary, but knows the rules and will not jeopardize her job/career for any man including Gary. Well they both fall under temptation and now he is stuck trying to find her as she ran off not giving him an explanation. Will he chase after her? If he does, will he forgive her? Can they make this work? Well you know Bella gives us a happily ever after, but the way she intrigues you is fascinating. As I mentioned it is a short story, but well worth the sit down, just make sure you are alone with a fan upfront as it gets HOT!

Gary is a firefighter and Shelly is the new trainer brought into the station. Sparks fly between them but they both know its against the rules to act on their attraction. Shelly got her job on falsified paperwork because of a relationship with a firefighter at her previous job the lost life during a fire which result in her job. So she really can't risk her job this time around. However they tempt fate by trying to be friends and the more they hang out the harder it is to stay platonic. Soon they are sneaking around to be together. When Shelly discovers that she is pregnant she knows that she has to leave because she won't destroy Gary's life so she waits until he leaves and plans her getaway. Will she ever come clean with Gary as to why she left? Can he forgive her?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is a really good book. Shelly and Gary are are such great characters and they have such an awesome story. It's more of a faster paced book, which I like. I really got into the story quickly and felt myself feeling happy and frustrated right along with the characters. Oh, and you know those adult scenes that we all like reading, they are hot! This is the third book in the series but I didn't find that I was confused about anything. I am going to read the first two because I really dislike starting in the middle of a series but I still loved this book and the way it was set up. I am interested in either being a firefighter or volunteer firefighter and I have always loved fire so I always find myself gravitating towards books with firefighters in them, not to mention the muscles. But I really enjoyed this book and recommend giving it a try and can't wait to read more from Bella Winters!

This is romance story about Gary, a firefighter who falls hard and fast for a new co-worker, Shelly. Their is a rule that co-workers can not have relationships and Gary and Shelly fight their undeniable attraction to one another until it comes to a beautiful and steamy time. They are both blissfully happy but they stop right away and just spend time together as friends as neither wants to lose their job! This forbidden love becomes a relationship in secret until one day Shelly just up and disappears as her past is still heavy on her heart. Gary takes it pretty hard and several years later he decides to take a promotion at another station in a new state just to start over. I enjoyed how their journey ends... Very slow and simmering chemistry ready to erupt with the right spark
Slow Burn is a good solid story with interesting and well developed characters. There is definite sizzling chemistry between the main characters even though they are not supposed to be "getting to know" each other because of rules at work. But as we all know some rules are just meant to be broken when it comes to affairs of the heart. But there are consequences to pay that will come back later on in even more surprising ways.

Gary & Shelly work in the same firehouse when fireworks go off between them! I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two & their story. There’s lots of back & forth with a policy at the station they don’t want to break as well as Shelly leaving & eventually fate brings them back together. This book shows you that true love will break you if you loose it but give you hope to find that lover again!

Bella Winters delivers another top notch read with Slow Burn. The storyline is amazingly good; the characters are well developed; the plot twists and turns are quite ingenious; and the long road to the HEA is worth every step. Slow Burn is a well written book that definitely belongs on your TBR list today. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and found it to be an excellent read!) ❤️❤️

This is a forbidden love story between two people in a secret relationship who are falling for each other. The writing is good and the story is filled with drama, steam, heartbreak, secrets and a perfect ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Such chemistry together their story is lovely, passionate and romantic BUT fate dictates a surprise for Shelly so she goes away. Oh my heart broke for Gary and yes the tissues came out. He never once gave up trying to find her and once he does...wow, I cried buckets, so moving. A beautiful, moving story.

I had high hopes for this book as it was one of my first firefighter stories. There was great potential, but something didn't click for me. I am not sure if it was the main characters low self esteem or the quick exit on her part. I finished and don't think I will visit any of the other stories in this series. I have read other books by this author and have loved them w/ a 5 star rating. As I said, it maybe that I am not into the firefighter storyline.

I had high hopes from the description of the book. Will I was enjoying the characters I found the book to wordy and drug out. It was repetitive in places and lack of communication between the tree main characters had me wanting to bang my head against the wall.

This could have been a good read however I think the author went into too much sexual detail and too often. I'm not a prude but I would like to leave something to the imagination.

A rollercoaster of feelings.
This has all the action and romance with angst rolled into it. I loved this book. It is the first time I've read this author's work and I will be getting more of her stories in the future.
