If you’re still comfortable casually dating then you aren’t ready for this book. You know the wobbly table you’ve got? Put this book under the short leg to steady that wobble. Set it on a shelf, bury it in your closet, use it as a coaster. But keep it around for that moment when you realize that you want a relationship, for the day you realize that you’ve been ready for a relationship for a long time, but you keep selecting partners who aren’t. Keep it for the day you’re horrified to discover that your relationship behaviors and patterns (the only ones you know) are hurting you instead of helping you. Then, go grab this book from under the wobbly table, pull it down from the shelf, take last night’s half-full water glass off of it. Now you are ready. Because this book is for women who are ready to have a committed relationship with an available partner.
I think it was a great book, I definitely would have loved to read it when I was living like the title. I could relate so much of this book in my past. I am so grateful I figured out so much of this and feel I have a successful marriage and tools from all I learned by doing things wrong before and in my first marriage. Removing alcohol from my life was most definitely one of the most important steps for me. Heidi was someone I found on Instagram and we live in the same state, so I bought this because really I wanted to hear more of her story and I’m glad I did. But I’m sure it can be helpful those who need help to do the work she goes over in the book.
