The Haunting of Goldville Cemetery
Old man Paul never saw it coming. The cemetery caretaker mysteriously vanished, never to be seen again.
Becca, her husband and sons are thrilled to move into their new house. But the shack at the edge of their property leaves Becca feeling unsettled. When she investigates, voices are heard but no one is there. A cold hand grips hers, leaving Becca running in fear.
When her sons defy orders to stay away from the shack, the evil is unleashed. For Becca's youngest son has taken something that belongs only to the dead; and they want it back. I enjoyed this book from the very beginning. The action and paranormal mystery was continuous and I did not lose interest. It was not overloaded with boring details that take away from the story.

Short ghost story decently written. Some of the phrasing and some of the layout - in particular every time someone SCREAMED it was just like that - it was a bit irksome.

Not that great. I wouldn't call it a horror story. More like a ghost story. Mostly for teens or as a campfire round reader. Pretty short for anyone to actually buy. I suppose if you're a hardcore Carrie Bates fan you'd spend the money, but it would need to be doubled in length and include the family being haunted a LOT more for me to buy this.

Not too bad!
A short story with a prologue and epilogue was something of a first for me. That said, it did help to flesh out what was, in effect, a simple and rather skimpy short tale. I've read a lot worse.

A young family move into a house that has a cemetery near it. One night the boys, aged 7 to 9, visit the cemetery. One boy finds "treasure" which wakens a ghost. A loving family working together help a ghost to rest.

I really enjoyed this book not scary at all.but told the story from a family point of view. Especially from the children.

Simple story
I liked it. The author put together a simple little short story about love and respect. It is a quick read and I highly recommend it.

It was scary but not gory. A nice clean cut book. You don’t run a cross meny any more. A joy to read.

I liked the story slot.the characters were great. A good lesson learned. Boys will be boys.the story could have been longer keep up the good work.

A haunted graveyard, yes. But, also a heartwarming story of a family on how they handle their children and the ghost.
