Nick has been working as a museum designer for the past 16 years. He has always been a storyteller, whether as a child, filling sketchbooks with quirky characters, or as a designer displaying a collection of ancient artifacts. Either way he has always found drawing the best way to communicate his ideas and has a mad passion for illustration.

His love of childrens' books has been with him all his life and he is now relishing the fact of working with two publishers, creating a couple of contrasting books for younger children. Nick lives near York with his wife and two children and when he isn't drawing, he is out riding bikes and spending time with his family.

Weasel, agent Weasel here to save the day with his magical fox dance. :P

This was such a delightful and funny read about WI6 (yes really) and Agent Weasel who works there and gets a new job! The foxes are up to something bad and it is up to Agent Weasel to find out what is going on and to fix it.

I have to say that at times it felt more like a book 2 or 3 in a series. But from what I can find this is truly book 1. But at other times, confusingly, I was wondering why everyone was so hyped about this guy. I mean he busts his disguise/hideout in just mere minutes after the foxes appear, he cannot battle unless he gets his weasel dance activated, he gets captured easily. You would think a top agent would have more brains and more understanding of how to do things. He was an idiot at times..

But I did love this weasel. I loved that he was a weasel, because while I can name various foxes, cats, mice, and other animals, I just cannot think of a book with a weasel as the main lead. I loved that he is a superspy and that he gets cases like this. Exciting cases. Oh, and I love that, despite blundering through things, he still does his best and has some brilliant ideas (like when they found out why Von Fluff was so angry he had a magnificent plan to make her happy again, which is wonderful). And come on, his dancing was pretty hypnotising and awesome. And deadly... I guess. :P

I loved the case and I loved seeing what the foxes were up to, in the end I hadn't even expected that, but I can imagine she became grumpy, I would have become grumpy to. No worries, I won't shave any badgers bottoms if I get grumpy.

I am so happy with Vic and Viv and I hope that they will get a prominent role in the next books because I just love the twins(? I am thinking they are giving their build/looks/names).
I also loved Doorkins, one wouldn't expect it but this is one brave mouse and I loved how well he works together with Weasel. Plus their friendship was just the sweetest (like for instance instead of complaining about the horrible singing Weasel did once a week he just put a sock over his ears because he knows Weasel loves singing).
Then there are various other characters. Like H the Hedgehog. The stag beetles. Agent Mole. Oh, and we cannot forget Muriel the moth! I never thought I would see a moth being used as a messenger.

The book is also heavily illustrated and I can only say that I am an absolute fan of them. Their style just fitted with this spy + humour book perfectly.

All in all, I want the second book, and I want it now. I want to see what is next in line for our superspy and what kind of animals he will meet this time.

If you go down to the woods today you’re in for a terrible surprise…you’ll find badgers without furry bottoms, rabbits with itchy problems, voles without holes and some very naughty foxes.

The inhabitants of United Woodlands are being terrorised and all evidence and paws point to the Fiendish Fox Gang (the FFG for short). In a secret hideout deep underground lives the infamous leader of the gang and she plans on ruining the autumn fair and squashing everyone and everything that’s there!

It’s up to Agent Weasel and his sidekick Doorkins to put a stop to the Fiendish Fox Gang’s evil deeds…

A very funny animal caper full of mishaps, close shaves and a lot of thoughts about pudding. Agent Weasel is great character. He is a bit of a calamitous spy and his penchant for not playing by the rules often lands him into a spot of bother. He has a bit of a record for not being the most successful of spies and before he and Doorkins even begin any proper spying duties they find their stakeout picnic interrupted and are caught by members of the FFG. Never mind, it’s nothing a weasel war dance won’t be able to solve - this is what happens when Agent Weasel senses danger or feels threatened. This is the kind of madness and mayhem that readers can expect from Agent Weasel and a host of other animals, including evil foxes, an elite-homing moth, a pair of Special Ops stag beetles and a secret agent mole that needs guarding rounding the clock.

Themes of friendship and teamwork are a feature of the read. Agent Weasel and Doorkins have a lovely friendship, they are always there for each other…just. And whilst Agent Weasel might not be the brightest spy he always has ideas of one sort or another and with the other animals always there to help out there is a chance that the plans may be a success.

The plot will quickly grab the attention of readers and with chapters that end on cliff-hangers there will be a desire to always read a little bit more. Throughout the book there are black and white illustrations that are excellent. Ooh, and there’s also a map at the start - I love a good map!

Ever wondered who keeps the woods same? Keeps those fiendish foxes at bay? Well it's WI6 of course!

This was a really fun read, its easy to forget to read silly books from time to time, and this one was fun and made me laugh, which I think is all we really need at the moment! I enjoyed the twists and turns, not being able to predict where the story was going until it was almost the end! The langauge was hilariously descriptive and although the story lacks any form of depth, who needs it?

I really enjoyed this simply because it was short, fun and easy to read. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read about spies!

I can't give this a star rating. If I did it would be either 1 or 2 and that's not fair as I'm not the intended audience for this. I only read it to fulfil a reading challenge (shadow on the cover).

I wish more books for children were as beautifully illustrated as this! The characters, the action and the settings are all drawn so wonderfully. It's a great book for kids ready for a proper book, but still wanting lots of illustrations.

However, there is toilet humour aplenty and lots of name-calling, which will of course make kids giggle, but I would have loved for more creative ways of getting laughs that aren't rude. But apart from that it's great fun, with lush illustrations and nice friendships. I particularly liked that two of the baddies were befriended and joined the team. And that little soldier stagbeetle was so cute!!
