Who said school was good for you! Leaving school has never been a problem for Quinn Garrett. Every day the bell rings and he walks out the school gate.
Today there are a few things in his way.
Like dragons and fairies and zombies.
Oh, and a fire breathing tiger that might really be his best friend, but definitely wants to eat him.
Now Quinn has to battle his way through the school, from classroom to dangerous classroom.
He's determined. He's clueless. He's really hungry. What could go wrong?
Writing is one of those things that I have always done. I vividly remember spending most of an English exam writing a complicated adventure story as the answer to an exam question. I passed the exam, either because of, or despite the answer.
I tend to write the story that comes to mind, regardless of genre.
I read this to my kids 11, 9 and 6 and we all loved it! Rodney Strong has mastered the child's voice and this story elicits laughs and interest from all ages in all the right places. My six-year old was so inspired that she started writing her own version of Escape from School. How awesome is that! This is a fabulous book to get into your school library, for teachers to read to their classes to inspire creative writing, and parents and kids to enjoy at home together. We look forward to reading Karmartha next.
