Dragons, pirates, magic and deceit. Thac is no place for the faint of heart...

Grand Choosing: Kortiama longs to prove herself at the Day of Choosing. Yet that day will hold more for her than she ever bargained for, if she manages to survive.

Price of Honor: Seishin never expected to fall in love, nor that his love would hold a dark secret. The Pirate Coast is a dangerous place, one which might hold the key to his future, if it doesn't kill him first.

Art of the Steal: Where did the enigmatic Donatello come from? Where did he learn to be a thief, artist, and swordsman? Who is the mysterious woman who broke his heart?

Fortune Tellers: Fran was not always blind, nor was she always a druid. It all came down to a fateful day and a run in with a certain blonde-haired, violet-eyed fortune teller.

Battle of Fish Eye Cove: Outnumbered two to one, Ves and Ruka engage in a desperate battle with a flight of evil dragons. Can the two dragon girls escape their deadly fate?

These and other thrilling tales are included here in this fantastic anthology from the world of Thac...

The stories were great. Loved everyone of them. Read it in one day. From the first to last story, they were wonderfully written. The characters and worldbuilding were great.

Thac, an island in the Arithar World. The stories in this anthology are centered around the island, in a world of magic and fantasy, with several clans battling each other for power - written by different authors. Some are honorable, some are not.
A fantasy world with lots of interesting characters, all at the verge of a new challenge in their lives.
The different authors bring different aspects into this world.which makes this anthology more interesting.

This was a good collection of stories from an assortment of writers. As with most collections some stories were better, some not up to the standard set by the others. All were worth reading. Sometimes it was very difficult to track the action - the who, what, when and where plus how that tied into the previous story could be lost.

Some of the stories were connected to each other, some were standalone. There were dragons, and mages; spiritblades and heroes. Probably something for everyone across this collection.

I freely admit that I downloaded Tales from Thac: A Collection of Short Stories and Novellas because Shannon Pemrick’s name was splashed in large letters on its cover as a contributor. Sure enough, her story, Grand Choosing, was wonderful, and worth the price by itself, but I’ve also enjoyed the others that I’ve read so far. For “a relatively small isle in the larger world of Arinthar”, Thrac is a pretty amazing place with its ties to a Mad Emperor, Elf/Human Wars and Thrall Masters. Also a pretty darn good setting for a talented group of authors to be set free in. And so, no surprise, this collection is highly recommended.

A collection of stories from various authors. At the beginning, there are several stories about a particular pirate captain. These stories are exceptional in that the dovetail so nicely. The last story is a wonderful story about dragons. A delightful read from beginning to end.

I usually enjoy fantasy stories... this one not so much. It is a collection of short stories that started out really interesting... I thought it was all one story written by different authors. If that was the case.. the story line got lost somewhere and they lose the reader along with it. I just got frustrated after about the 50% mark trying to make heads or tails of what the heck I was reading and if it was even the same story anymore. I just gave up on trying to make sense of any of it and powered thru it. Not really getting any enjoyment from it. I will say some of the later stories briefly intrigued me and raised my interest back up in the story again only to be lost again by the next authors story. I have to say I dearly hope I never come across a story like this again... If I do it will be an auto DNF. I will not waste my time on a story like this again.

Included in these stories: Pirates, witches, magic, dragons, shapeshifters and druids. A baby is hidden until she is of age to be trained to become the leader of the pirates. But an uncle will try to stop her. And then she finds the love of her life but in order to save the pirates she is in charge of she must leave him to die. A shapeshifter steals a magical artifact, and then it is stolen from her. But while attempting to get it back she activates it and becomes a powerful but blind seer. These are just several of the stories in this book. Even though they seem complete they are prequels to longer stories about these characters. This is a collection of fantasy stories in a shared world. Moreover, several of them share the same heroine. Since each story was written by a different author, they did a really nice job to making them into a cohesive story. The stories were well written and fun to read, with several interesting characters, as well as a good bit action, mystery and humor. Overall, a fun set of tales which provided a nice weekend of entertainment.

Highly recommended.

I know nothing about the world of Thac but I was captivated by these stories and definitely want to read more. The stories are by different authors but the writing consistently good to excellent. The characters are interesting and engaging; the world involves pirates, people with magical talents; and the stories run the gamut from adventure through coming of age and romance. – The book is listed as "teen and young adult" but I'm a LOT older than that and enjoyed it. But, it is suitable for younger readers as well.

Tales from Thac

An anthology of stories and novellas set in Thrac giving us a much broader vista to other books in the series
. These stories intertwine and introduce a much broader perspective to the other books in the series and a greater understanding of the motivations behind various factions encountered. Avery welcome addition to the mainstream books.

A diverse group of stories from Thac.

This collection contains some excellent tales of pirates, dragons, humans and other inhabitants of the land of Thac and environs of Ravenford.

I did receive an ARC of this book from the authors. This in no way influenced my rating.

Do dragons have feelings

The first two books are very slow paced and were difficult to keep !y attention. The third story was much better and much more interesting, keeping my attention.

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

Fantasy tales set in a pirate empire. They don't start out all that fantastical, but soon enough we get there.

The piracy stuff was a nice change from the usual.

Tales from Thac

A great collection of tales of the land of Thac. Thac is the land where the Heroes of Ravenford is set. These tales give more color and depth to the magic of that realm.

All things considered this was a series of different stories so a little bit of everything to sink your teeth into. What ever your genre may be this might be right up your alley. Semi fast read.
