Elizabeth thought obtaining an annulment from Wade would end her problems after he left Wyoming for Montana.
Wade’s anger about his banishment from the family ranch, the annulment, and being sent to Montana grows until he decides he wants his wife and his saloon girl love.
Mason loved Elizabeth from the moment he met her. Can offering her his name to protect her from Wade be the answer to his heart’s desire?
Mason may have to fight for her, fight her beliefs and fears, fight those who are underhand and corrupt and fight for the life he wants, but I am so glad Mason finally gets his girl! We have already met Mason and Elizabeth, but they got off to a rocky start when they met, before his heart was broken as she fulfilled her mail order bride promise and married Wade. They both finally get their HEA, it is the one Mason dreamed of and the one Elizabeth never dared to hope for. A sweet historical romance which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
Elizabeth was just plain dense. In Grace and Clay’s story towards the end, Elizabeth was receiving letters from Mason and they made her blush and smile. Now, she acts like he looks at her as a burden? Then when he shows her nothing but his care and protection, she convinces herself she will have the marriage annulled in a month and flee somewhere?
Sorry, but this just was not enjoyable. A few typos and name/relationship changes.
This was such a great book. Marianne Spitzer always writes wonderful stories and this is no exception. The characters in her books always seems so real. I loved the plot of this book and it also continues the story that was started in the book, A Bride for Clay. I highly recommend this book.
Elizabeth, the mail order bride from #2, has now had her marriage to Wade annulled. She still lives with his family. But then, they get word that he's headed home to claim her. Everyone is worried so Clay hatches a plan. Mason was starting to fall for Elizabeth until her found out she was to be Wade's bride. Back in Chicago, he receives a telegram from his friend. Elizabeth is in danger. Can he protect her? Mason offers to have them wed by proxy so she can travel to him under his name. Can he convince her that he wants their marriage to be permanent? Will she ever be safe from Wade? Will she ever have a family of her own? This is a clean, sweet romance. I liked that Elizabeth got her own story after all the hurt she endured in #2 (A Bride for Clay) and it was nice reading about Mason again.
Wow, it was amazing how the story line started out with something that could have ended badly. Then took a turn for an adventure to happen. Once in Chicago and settling in, only to have an evil, vindictive woman try to put the screws to the couple, then how they managed to get around her theatrics. To going back home after drama over an ex, the wicked woman, to a loving family and a glorious future together. I can see several more books coming right behind this one. Can't wait to see if I am right!
This is Elizabeth and Mason's story. It is a sweet story with great character development. Elizabeth grew up in an orphanage and just when she thought she had found a forever family, things fell apart and her life was in danger. Mason married her by proxy to keep her safe and they found their HEA. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
This is a well written short story about marrying by proxy and finding the love you've always dreamed of. The plot and the characters were well thought out too. True love did not come easy for Mason and Elizabeth, but they come through trial and trouble to reap love and happiness.
Mason- currently working in Chicago and is a friend of Clay Bride for Clay) Elizabeth - was married to Wade, Clay's brother and the marriage was annulled. I enjoyed reading this engaging story that is well written and Ties in with an other past story it was great to read/see Elizabeth's story. Their story has a wonderfully sweet HEA!
She went to marry one man and ended up with another
She got a annulment with the first one and married the second for protection from the first one, the second one convinced her that he loved her and to stay married
Elizabeth feels insecure where her place in the world should be so does not believe that Mason wants to marry him for love. Forces try to separate them. - Babs
