On his last mission, an artery shot nearly killed him. Now Zenko Marks, and the man who owns his heart, Shaun Jacobson have been sent Stateside to recover.
Hearts, flowers, and happy ever afters... right? Snort... nope... bullets, guns, and a terrorist where they least expect it is more their style.
Annabella Stone and Bella Stone are the alter egos of a wife and mom, who was lucky enough to find happy ever after with her own personal hero.
Annabella loves to write Military Romance and Romantic Suspense where warriors love harder when bullets fly. She believes in love at first sight and wants everyone to have the happy ever they deserve. Even if they have to dodge bullets and fight with everything that they are to get it.
Born and raised in Ireland, Annabella has a Grá for a good story and the breakfast blaa, but funnily enough, prefers Jack Daniels to Irish whiskey. Having lived across 7 countries and 3 continents over the last thirty years, she loves to explore new places and cultures. In her world, coffee is king, and she is 100% sure it deserves it's own food group.
Annabella is owned by a pack of malamutes, whom she loves to both work and show. If you can't find her at the computer writing, chances are she and her woofers have escaped to enjoy at day at a dog show, or they are on a mountain trail with the dryland rig or the sled, depending on the time of year.
Annabella's motto is "Live life like a malamute who found the gate open, but take the time to enjoy the sights while you're running."
Overall book rating: 3 Stars Audio book: n/a Book Cover: 3 Stars MC1: Zenko Marks MC2: Shaun Jacobson
This book is marked as .5 but I really think it must be marked as a 1.5.... It's a bit confusing to read as a .5 and you are suppose to know what's going on...... but, that said I liked this little bit extra behind the scene. And I really enjoyed that hospital escape scene
After being seriously hurt on his last mission, Zenko is sent home stateside to recuperate with his partner Shaun. What was supposed to be relaxation turns into so much more when the pair find themselves with a shooter on the roof across the street from the market they are shopping in. In true alpha fashion both men put their lives on the line to protect the innocent. Can these boys ever relax? With characters the reader fell in love with in the books that came before this is an awesome shirt. Annabella Stone always takes her readers on a wild ride and NEVER disappoints.
Always fun with Zenko but here there is a shooter killing anyone at random and the conversation with everyone else took forever. How many people are shot as the worked there way to the kill shot?! Really!! I thought Drax's mother was there to baby Zenko after he was shot but she was in know in the picture and Zenko knew nothing about D's family. You gotta keep the story straight..
This picks up just after Zenco is out of surgery and recovering. Patient he is not ! In more ways than one. I enjoyed this read, there is some action in a tense situation but various people pull together to get a reasonable outcome. It is a great addition to this series and answers a question or two. Flow and pace are steady and it has some wonderful characters.
I love this series. Zenko is stubborn and funny. Shaun is laid back and relaxed. They are perfect for each other. Good story but I want to know why there was a shoot out. Also more about the town with the different former military men. Can’t wait for more I hope it’s soon.

Again, good series and characters but the verbiage is oddly stilted and the phraseology is very strange; written in many ways as if the character(s) was not a native English speaker/American, and yet said character(s) are both.
Thanks Annabella (Author) for letting us know what happening to the two characters, Zenko & Shaw after they ended up in hospital. Its always good when an author finishes off a story with some finer details, so much Obliged.
I love Zenko and Shaw’s boring every day life. They are adorable! I love them stepping up when needed. I loved the addition of Charlie and Jack. And the little extra help from another team we’ve met before! Must read after Zenko’s book!
This is not a standalone story. I picked it up free and while it was okay, I was certainly lost. I might have liked it more if I had read this series in order.
Great fast paced, action filled, intense, quick read. Zenko and Shaun stumble onto a deadly situation and they're the only ones available to shut it down
Can’t get enough of Red Squadron. I continue to be amazed at how well this author has synced the storyline throughout Panthers/Ghost/Red Squadron.
In this short we have an active shooter in the small town Shaun and Zenko have chosen for their R&R. With the help of few veterans Shaun and Zenko are able to take out the shooter. Of those veterans are members of Lynx (Fritz’s old team).
If you’re looking for an action packed, quick lunchtime read, I’d suggest this book.
An action packed novella featuring Shaun and Zenko, after they are released (escaped) from the hospital after Zen's shooting. They are recovering in Southern California and head into town for a shopping trip for coffee, when all hell breaks loose.
Loved catching up with Shaun and Zen and seeing a few others. Not sure how I missed this when it came out but I am so looking forward to catching up on this whole series.
