What started as an assignment became more than Lily could have ever hoped for...
Lily Salomé has encountered more challenges than the average twenty-four year old. After a horrendous crash killed her parents, an abusive relationship was all she needed to calcify her broken heart to stone. So when Lily’s boss comes to her with a challenge most girls would balk at, she knows there isn’t much left in this world to be afraid of.
The target: Jonas Crane, a brooding business mogul who hasn't smiled once since his divorce. Dark, dangerous and mouthwatering, Crane has written a book about life in the fast lane and with the recent publicity, Lily's boss wants the rights. Problem is, Crane won't return a phone call, let alone agree to a meeting. But if a pretty publishing assistant happens to run into him at the Waldorf, with a business card and a smile...what could go wrong?
A lot, it seems. Lily thinks she's going to the Waldorf to meet a rich jerk, or worse, a playboy, but the truth is way more challenging. Jonas Crane is smart, engaging...and devastatingly out of her league.
Amélie S. Duncan writes contemporary, erotic romances. Her inspiration comes from many sources including her life experiences and travels. She lives on the West Coast of the United States with her husband.
☆ I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆
Tiger Lily is author Amelie S. Duncan’s second book release since her debut and it was a definite step up.
I really admired the relationship between Lily and Jonas as they don’t have an insta-love bond or scenario and have to build their repertoire from the ground up.
Seeing as Lily harbors an array of mental and emotional trauma as well as abuse; and Jonas simply does not want another long-term relationship, with a failed married and teenage son in tow, their journey is strictly at first is very casual, only sexual with Jonas calling the shots.
But with Jonas being a powerful business mogul and Lily forced to engage with Jonas to ensure publishing rights to his life novel, Lily must do whatever it takes to not only take her career to the next level…but not lose her heart in the process.
#Loved this steamy, mesmerizing novel of self-perseverance and going the distance! Can’t wait for bk2!
It seems to me that Amélie S. Duncan has participated in the same writer's workshop that E.L. James, Sylvia Day, Sylvain Reynard and probably many more has participated. The workshop was probably named "How to write an erotica novel to grown up Twilight fans." This story had all the same key elements - vulnerable and timid girl meets domineering and devastatingly handsome older man.
Lily, our slightly overweight, coy girl is working in small publishing house and her boss sends her on a mission - she needs to go an woo a new author to their house. And of course she meets him almost on her knees, since she dropped her handbag just before Jonas arrived and the bag fell before his feet.
Well, anyway, there is instalust, of course and there is an doushbag ex boyfriend, of course, and expensive gifts and porn-flick-worthy sex scenes. Lily needs constant human touch and Jonas needs somebody to lead and they both know Shakespeare creations by heart and everything they do together is extremely arousing for them both.
And of course at the end of this book Lily has violent encounter with her ex and decides that she wants more from Jonas than just companionship, so she brakes up their agreement, which brings Jonas' ex wife at once to Lily, to find out, why Lily gave Jonas up.
Everything in this book is over the top and everything is sickly-sweet. Not good read at all.
A free copy of this ebook was provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, NetGalley!
Well, I'm not going to rate this because, clearly, I'm not the right kind of readership for this romance novel.
I'll do my best to explain why...
Well, overall, the book was not my kind of romance but I would totally recommend it for fans of books like Bared to you or for anyone who likes the the trope young, innocent and hardworking girl falls for dangerous older man- who, hey!, also happes to be a mysterious billionaire".
If that's your choice of romance, then this is totally for you!
With a sensitive and insightful writing style, the author delivers a story that is easy to delight the senses. It's so engaging I couldn't / didn't want to stop reading. One day. That's all it took. To read it and to fall in love. It immediately appealed to me the premise of a fake encounter between a sweet, honest, hard working woman and an elusive, striking business man who's about to publish a book. Lily is insecure because of a very bad relationship that seeps venom into her present. I appreciated knowing her well before her attempt at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel to engage Jonas Crane in a conversation that could land her a contract with the publishing house where she works. She tries and fails miserably. Or does she?
It really felt more real and meaningful when they meet in that accidental way that soon becomes hypnotic thanks to the intense presence of the man. Thankfully, they have true conversations between magnetic attraction and heart-pumping full of longing.
Honestly, I was intrigued and aroused by how the relationship develops. First, both characters have an interesting background, they exchange beautiful quotes and their dialogues weave a grabbing sense of belonging between them. Also, the chemistry is utterly seductive. When Jonas proposes an agreement to ease their solitude, it feels both as exhilarating and bewildering to Lily as for the reader.
The words are able to create a beautiful intimacy that pulses with sensuality, though there is also a touching sense of understanding and a sweetness that Jonas shows towards Lily. She's in dire need of affection and he proves he can be a gentle and passionate lover even though there are no promises of a future together.
It gave me a pang of sadness that Jonas wouldn't consider having anything serious because everything that transpired between them felt overwhelmingly intimate, intense and deep. The talks, the emotions, the need, including how commanding though irresistibly sensitive and caring Jonas is every moment he spends with Lily, made me sigh for him to realize Lily is perfect for him and they both need each other.
Eventually, I think Jonas becomes overpowering as the relationship progressesm and Lily is too emotional which I understood better as things from her past traumas get clearer. I really, really felt sorry for her. She was so helpless against so much cruelty. She might seem weak and needy but I see her as endearing and then the pieces of the puzzle come together and you see why she craves touch and reassurance. She even marathons Star Trek episodes and is a Star Wars fan. You just have to love her :o)
And the last scenes were so powerful! So full of pain and despair that my heart went out to her. When she was suffering from very hard blows and all her insecurities came crashing down on her, she just denied herself any consolation. It was heartbreaking. Oh, now I need to read part 2 because I have to know if this girl gets the happiness she so deserves. And that hot, hot Jonas too!
I love a good erotic romance and what Amelie S Duncan has done is write a good erotic romance. The sex is hot and the hero, Jonas Crane is even hotter. Everything about Jonas works for me. He's mature, he's sexy, powerful, knows what he wants and super confident.
Lily, on the other hand, is young, inexperienced and very immature. She's also somewhat selfish in that she wants everything she wants but she doesn't understand giving, compromise and sacrifice. She enters into a relationship with Jonas that she does not understand and she finds herself chaffing at the rules that are set out by that relationship. She grates at me many a time, but I forgive her because of her age and immaturity, mostly I forgive her and keep reading because I adore Jonas.
Let me try to describe Jonas to you. He's rich, powerful, a total alpha male who knows what he wants and sets out to get it by any means possible. He's a very take charge kind of guy and I love that in a hero. I read this story entirely because of Jonas and I will keep reading because of him. For some reason, he pushes all the right buttons for me, which makes him super sexy. There are some scenes in the story with Jonas that take my breath away and leave me panting for more. Just more of Jonas.
I'm looking forward to the next few parts of the story to find out how Lily and Jonas' relationship develops.
I was left feeling satisfied even though the story ended with a slight cliffhanger to it. But it was expected since this is only Part one of this gripping series. The characters, Lily Salomé and Jonas Crane have a unexpected yet interesting connection when they first meet each other. Lily had set out to make contact with him for the publishing company she works for but Jonas becomes intrigued by how genuine she seems as a person. Jonas has the right mix of confidence, a caring heart and alpha male sexiness. The proposition between Jonas and Lily makes the storyline take readers on an exciting and captivating direction. Looking forward to what is next in the Tiger Lily Series. Check this one out for an entertaining and mature read.
My full blogging review will be posted during the blog tour here: BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com
Tiger Lily is the first book in a trilogy by Amelie S. Duncan. She introduces us to Lily, a beautiful young lady who is learning her way in the world. Plagued by insecurities, recovering from a broken engagement while coming to terms with the death of her parents, we meet her at her most vulnerable point. Curvaceous, witty and wounded, I fell for her instantly, as did Jonas. He is a hardened business mogul who wants all of the benefits of a relationship without having to deal with any of the complications emotions bring to the table. The storytelling is first rate but I also enjoyed the way both the main and supporting characters are given true depth. I was left feeling as if I knew a good deal about everybody but still wanted to know more. The plot twists were well conceived and I could not wait to get my hands on the second book. The Devil rates this book worthy of 4 pitchforks.
***I received this book for an honest review via NetGalley***
My, my, my! Where do I begin? Amelie S Duncan did a perfect job with Tiger Lily! I could not put this book down for the life of me! The writing was splendid! I was so engrossed and whisked away into the story! I didn't want to put the book down to go to bed! I just had to know what was going to happen with Jonas and Lily!!! And then, I completed book 1 and was left immediately wanting book 2!
This billionaire romance had some similarities but never did I feel like it was cookie cutter! It was unique and beautifully written. Oh and the sex is so HOT!!! I even began praying to the book boyfriend Gods for my very own Jonas! I can't wait to get my hands on book 2! Excellent job Ms Duncan!
This was a pretty short read, not sure what to say. To add to the summary, it’s about a woman who is dealing with her self-image as a result of her previous relationship. She ends up in a relationship of sorts, a “companion” for Jonas Crane, just days after meeting him. She deals with the after effects of her previous relationship throughout the book. I think this book takes place over a period of more the 2 weeks, so thats why it was a quick read, but I liked it enough to want to read the next book 👍 The unique aspect I found was Jonas’s relationship with his ex, that was a little different. I’m not sure what to say about that, but by the end of the book I found I didn’t mind her 😂 I mean if I were Lily, I’d be a little more jealous, but to each their own 🤷♀️ It honestly got more interesting and at the same time more emotional towards the end. So it’s on to the next one!

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading an ARC Copy of ‘TIGER LILY’(via:BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):
Tiger Lily is the first novel of the Tiger Lily Series by author Amélie S. Duncan. I was given the opportunity the read and review a copy of this captivating contemporary romance about a young lady by the name of Lily Salomé and a successful business mogul by the name of Jonas Crane. Readers will get to enjoy the story in the main character Lily's P.O.V(point of view).
When Lily Salomé is given the opportunity to make an important contact with a potential client for her boss and friend Chief Editor Gregor Worton, she nervously jumps at the opportunity. She holds the simple title of assistant to the Chief Editor and is ready to try to lure the rich and successful Jonas Crane to sign up with Arch Limited Publishing but has no idea of how she will do it. Her boss seems to think that she is the perfect person to make contact with Jonas to consider Arch Limited for his upcoming book but when Lily comes face to face with the mogul, she realizes she may be in over her head. This may very well be an impossible task since she seems to get tongued-tied and flushed when she tries to mutter a word to the handsome man. How will she pull this off?
The rich business mogul Jonas Crane is recently separated from his wife and has a teenaged son in New York but business has kept him flying between there and Texas. He's tall, very attractive with his chiseled good looks, confident ways and hard to resist successful reputation. Everything about this man is alluring and sexy but when he comes across a seemingly sweet and unique young lady named Lily, he takes notice quickly. Something about her attracts him to her. What he likes the most is that she doesn't seem desperate to impress him, Lily seems like a genuinely good person and the more they talk, the more they begin to realize how much they have in common. Jonas doesn't want a relationship but when he propositions Lily about a possible companionship, this is all he seems to be seeking right now. But will this be able to work and satisfy them both or is it destined to fail?
Someone from Lily's past is determined to become a part of her life again. Also, the heartache she carries for her parents who were killed in a terrible car accident still lingers. Will Jonas be able to open up completely to Lily? Will Lily ever be able to move forward or will the past always control her life? There are plenty of romantic, steamy moments and Jonas is very attentive, caring, and plays the hot alpha-male when the situation calls for one. I have to say I do recommend this one for your reading pleasure. I will definitely be looking forward to Part 2 of the Tiger Lily Series. Keep in mind that this is Part 1 of Jonas and Lily's story and will continue when Part 2 comes out soon so expect a little bit of a cliffhanger feel to it. But do trust that it is worth reading and checking out this new series.
My star rating for TIGER LILY is: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. :)

Ah, I wish I remembered a lot more of this novel. If it's forgettable, it shows how much impact it had on you.
I expected a lot from a woman working confidently and successfully in the publishing field to meet an elusive billionaire/writer to ask questions.
And also reveal some dark truths about him. If it's a bonus of course.
But I get none of that.
In fact I barely enjoy any aspects of her work life, I mostly see her being bullied for her body size, her endless lusting for the said elusive writer, and just some constant flashbacks.
No proper resolve, not many good moments, endless lust, oye...it needed a lot of work to capture my attention and make me love this novel.
Which was none here. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Sigh...another disappointing read for the drawing board.
OUR HERO is a rather odd man in my book, but a very open-minded one given his relationship with his ex-wife. At 37 years old, he's a good decade and more older than our heroine but I have always liked an older man story. Except, I didn't feel close to Jonas at all throughout the whole story, and certainly not the kind of book boyfriend I would voluntarily keep. Jonas is elusive, and I can't put my finger on it but there's something about him I cannot relate to or like. Jonas likes control, and he's also rather good at it, seeing as how he's quite the celebrity in his line of work. He first encounters our heroine over drinks, where she tries to coax him to sign under her publishing company. This is the first time I meet an alpha character who appreciates yoga, he's like 45% hippie. Rather odd combination. Anyways, I didn't quite like him throwing the word 'because I'm your friend' at Lily so often when his actions proves that she means more than just a fuck buddy. It was utterly gratifying to see him grovel a little.
OUR HEROINE is weak, in my opinion. I like strong characters and throughout the three books, she's either crying or falling apart. I'm not blaming her, because being a victim of abuse (her ex-fiance will play the bad guy here), it's not easy to cope with reality. I suppose that's the reason why the author placed Jonas and his more than nosy ex-wife in to the picture. Dani, the ex-wife was a little smothering and annoying with her kindness, mainly because I don't like it when people butt into my business. But, seeing how weak Lily is I guess she needed them. What I would have loved was to see Lily push Jonas more, because she did sometimes in the story and that's the only few moments we get to see what Jonas is really thinking behind his cool facade.
OVERALL if I had to be honest, I wouldn't say it was captivating or dramatic. It dealt more with Lily as the victim of abuse, and her struggles to overcome the pain, fear and at the same time opening up to a man who likes to dominate everything around him. Lily hasn't relied on anyone but herself all these years since her parent's death so it's understandable she finds it hard to adjust to a man like Jonas. Would I ever attempt this again? Probably not.
It's so stupid. The hero and heroine both suffer from dysmorphic personality disorder. She's the girl who saves herself for marriage, but she's ready to lay this guy after one dinner. Then she's blowing him the next day and agreeing to be his friends with benefits girl after he tells her he will consider letting her publishing house publish his book. The sweet girl is a ho for the right price.
Then he's supposed to be all alpha male, but practices yoga with the woman he recently divorced. Oh, and tells his exwife all about his new booty call. It's cool, because they are swingers.
Anyone else feel 50 shades of stupid hobag yet?
Oh, and she's so DUMB. He ex hits her, but she is the one dumb enough to go with him. Then she whines that he hit her--again! Stupid. I hate dumb heroines.

It took me so long to read this book and it is only 168 pages long!!! The writing is fine but
There is nothing new or original to this story It can be summed up in the same old formula - Alpha, Controlling Billionaire who doesn't want a relationship but wants a companionship (aka Fuck buddy on tap) with a younger insecure girl who has an abusive ex and whose parents have died. Sex is amazing - She of course starts to fall for him after two weeks so has to break it off .... Sounds familiar? Yep read it all before. The rest of the series may be more original but sadly I don't think I will ever find out. There is not really a cliffy to even get you to want to go buy book 2.
I really enjoyed this book. Jonas and Lily are apprehensive about relationships, and their past plays a significant role in their arrangement. When Jonas meets Lily, he understands she has alterior motives, yet he's intrigued by her. Jonas is single-minded in his determination to have Lily, and she sees something in him that pulls her toward him, even when her head tells her otherwise. This is the first book in this series, and I am anxiously waiting for the next one.
What a lovely read. Clean writing, interesting quotes. Interesting main character who comes across as real? Someone who has struggled and who struggles - Her past loss and her former relationship bleed through to the new relationship.
I hope that Jonas is developed more in the next novel.
Didn't really like where the novel left off though. - Anyone know when the next one is due?
I really did struggle with this book, but I did make it to the end eventually. It reminded me too much of the 50 Shades books and I didn't like that series at all - but if you did, then this may just be the book for you. This is only part 1 but I won't be reading part 2.
This is an age-gap (12 yrs), insta-crush, alpha male relationship story - as expected with an erotic story it is full of sex.
Lily seemed very confident with her work, even though it's not something that she planned to do as it doesn't relate to her degree. I found her to be very quiet and quite a pushover in pretty much all her personal relationships. She didn't stand up for herself in any relationship, and this made it harder for me to like her. She is a victim of a past abusive relationship, which does explain a lot of her behaviours, mixed with the loss of her parents and she was someone who craved love and attention. She becomes very needy and obsessed with Jonas very quickly.
Jonas is full of contradictions, he's a bizarre mixture of business alpha billionaire but is part hippie, attending tantric yoga and having past open relationships. He was domineering with the way he spoke and treated Lily but it felt more controlling and manipulative than affectionate, it felt like he sometimes even bordered on gaslighting her. He describes their relationship as a 'companionship', although he treats her as if she is a girlfriend/mistress, but then constantly reminds her that they aren't because he doesn't want to commit to a relationship. He has not advertised his divorce as he said he would feel like a failure but then proceeds to take Lily out and grope her the entire time. His relationship with his ex-wife was refreshing because she seemed nice and they had remained friends, but she was more involved with his life than most wives are with their current husbands which was just strange.
Lily's relationship with her boss is also bizarre, he sends her to meet Jonas to hopefully get a contract, however, he implies she may end up sleeping with him, and that he's OK with whatever she decides, but then spends the rest of the book warning her away from him. Lily described Gregor as a good friend but seems to forget that he all but pimped her out to help the company.
There is a lot that hasn't been revealed yet but it isn't enough for me to want to read book 2 to find out.
"All I knew was that the connection had me wanting him in ways I knew I shouldn't."
When Lily Salomé is tasked with winning over Jonas Crane for the rights to publish his book, the last thing she expects it to find herself accepting a different kind of proposal from him. To be his companion whenever he's in town, but the lines between companionship and relationship are blurred, as Lily struggles to keep things defined.
"I need to see, touch, and taste every inch of you. And I want you to want me to do that."
This was such an engaging read. I loved the chemistry between Lily and Jonas. They were fire together! Sensual, erotic, and all-consuming. Jonas was commanding but kind. I loved his desire for Lily and his patience and care for her. I loved that he wanted to make her life easier and look after her. I thrilled at the fact that Lily completely enchanted him. The drama between Lily and her ex, Declan, added to what we learn about Lily's psyche and her past relationship experience. Gosh, that Declan was a nasty piece of work! He'd beaten her down psychologically so badly that her self-esteem was pretty fragile, but I loved how Jonas made her feel beautiful. My heart hurt for her loneliness and the fact she could count the number of friends she had on one hand. I couldn't put this book down and looking to read the next book ASAP!
Thank you Amélie S. Duncan and Fallen Crest Crew for an eBook of this book, these are my honest thoughts.
“My mother encouraged me to be carefree, and my father encouraged me to be brave. Both great qualities of a Tiger Lily princess, they told me.”
Lily Salome is a 25 year old working as an assistant at a publishing agency. One day her boss asks her to go to a bar and try to get Jonas Crane, a wealthy and newly single billionaire, to sign with their agency. Lily agrees for the purpose of work, but the moment Lily and Jonas lay eyes on each other the connection is instant. Lily just got out of an abusive relationship of 3-years, during which she also lost both of her parents. Jonas is a 37 year old wealthy businessman who is freshly divorced. After their initial meeting, Jonas asks Lily to dinner again, but not for business. She agrees, and he asks if she would like to be his “companion” - a friend he takes places, shows off and gets to have sex with whenever/however he wants. Lily reluctantly agrees, but Jonas is so tender and kind to her she can’t resist. She even gets to know his son, Paul, and his ex-wife, Dani - whom also like her company.
Part one of the Tiger Lily trilogy is mainly just the start of Lily and Paul’s relationship as well as Lily’s relationship with Dani. It very much ends on a cliffhanger and I immediately went and purchased the other two parts!
This would be a great read for you if you like spicy, billionaire age-gap romances with a Dom/sub style relationship.
I was immediately into the feel of this story and basically read it in about a day and half. Lily is on the track to bigger and better things in her career. When she gets an assignment that feels a bit out of her comfort zone, she jumps in, albeit maybe a little nervously. Her mission: meet the allusive Jonas Crane and convince him to bring his new book to the publisher where she works. Jonas proves to be everything his reputation calls for and then some. Even upon initially meeting there seems to be a spark between the two and Jonas definitely seems intrigued by Lily makes it clear he wants to spend more time with her. Work related…. And more. Their relationship escalates pretty quickly from there and Lily seemed to feel a little out of her depth with him in some senses and lets some of her insecurities color her relationship with him. But, while Jonas is protective, a little possessive, and demanding in many ways, he is also trying to work through his past and he genuinely wants to know everything about her. Be in her presence and part of her world. Oh my, the ending of this first book 😳 Very intrigued to see what happens next for Lily and Jonas!
📿Quick Notes📿 Billionaire Romance Some serious 🔥🔥🔥 between Lily & Jonas A no commitment arrangement that turns into more Age gap Contemporary FMC working through insecurities Not a standalone
In the beginning I was intrigued: a young woman self-confident enough to walk in a bar and get the attention of a potential client for her publishing house. After meeting her ex fiancé she turned into a doormat, behaving completely irrational. Although she failed every time she wanted to solve her problems by herself she refused any help. Very annoying behaviour.
I also didn't understand her feeling of inferiority: she had been raised by loving parents as a single child, she had a good job, been able to keep her mother's charity afloat and only one man had demeaned her as fat and that had stuck and still was used as an excuse for her feeling unworthy. Lily and Jonas constantly have sex without any condoms ( and she is throwing up quite often), I suppose there will be a pregnancy.
One of my pet peeves is bad grammar and spelling, this author should have a good editor or proofreader.
Thoughts - Love, love, love!! A great book to read in a day. I loved the spice and the drama! I couldn’t stand Declan which will become obvious when you read it. Jonas is amazing and annoying all at the same time 😂 I just wanted to shake him and tell him to get out of his own way! Lily is driven but holds a lot of common insecurities woman have which made her extremely relatable. Definitely worth the read! - Also this has Paul from The Billionaires Arrangement as a teenager 😉
Plot: Lily is smart, beautiful and loves her job. Needing to get an author to choose her bosses publishing company she’s sent to try and convince him to pick them to publish with. Only the author is Jonas Crane. Successful, mega hot billionaire and he wants Lily. All of Lily. And Jonas gets what he wants.

*I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review
Lily and Jonas were absolute fire. I loved the concept of this book it was fast-paced and had me hooked from the start. This book is full of spice with a protective over the top alpha male and a timid mfc who starts to find her voice in this book.
Lily meets Jonas at a time in her life when she is lost and lonely. She has recently broken up with her boyfriend, whom she moved to NyC to be with, and now all she has is work to occupy her time. She is asked by her boss at a publishing firm to seek out Jonas Crane, who is getting ready to release a book and see if she can persuade him to sign with her company. However, Jonas offers lily more than a work contect. He offers her companionship with a lot of spice thrown in for good measure!! I can't wait to just into the next part of the trilogy to find out what happens next.
*There are some triggers to be aware of before reading*
This was my first book by Amelia Duncan and I was intrigued. She did a good job with the characters, I liked Jonas in that he was strong and caring, but he was too controlling. Lily was so sweet and compliant, but also a doormat. Some people think may think it wasn't very realistic, but having been in an abusive relationship, I would have to say she was spot on with it. And Declan, what can I say, Lily's personality makes her a magnet for those types of men. However, Jonas isn't cruel and if Lily just gets some help and grows some in the next 2 books, I feel she and Jonas can find their HEA. The other characters, Gregor, Dani, Mary, and Natasha and more depth to the story and I feel we will be seeing more of them in the rest of the series. I can't wait!
