This last book was everything I expected it to be! With many twists and turns in this magical tale, I could not put it down. Full of love, laughter, action and adventure with character growth, a dash of sadness and many surprises, this series is one of my favourites. I’m sad to see it end, but I can’t wait for Ms. Wilson to create a new world for me to fall in love with! So do yourself a favour and grab the first book in the Oberon Academy series. You won’t regret it!
What a fitting ending to this series! It was a tense, exciting read that had me experiencing December's gamut of emotions along with her. It was intense, devastating, and beautiful. The parallels to modern society lent additional intrigue and I loved the glipse beyond at their world. Amazing characters, thought-provoking storyline and more wholesome, upbeat tones make this story a standout for academy and ya readers.
Magical air battles? True love? Family and friends? This book has it all. December finds herself in a deep depression, unsure of how to defeat the evil queen. With the help and love of those closest to her, she attempts to take on Sebille. You have to read to find out how she does!
The angst and delay in timely action was a little juvenile. But, since this is a YA series, I was willing to push those feelings to the side… skipping a few sections of a few chapters near the 3/4 mark. Despite that, I enjoyed the rest of the book. It was a decent conclusion to the series.
It would have been fine but it’s like there was a choice to go back and change parts in the plot but they forgot to change some of the lead up making parts contradictory and just off.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible Membership)
This is a sad story. In the first instance, one of the characters that has maintained a constant and soothing presence is lost. Other characters are in doubt as to their lives and trustworthiness. Yes, it is a confusing situation but one that only the strong and those willing to stand together will overcome. For a grand final, the outcome is satisfying, with mostly a HEA.
I could list the faults I found in this book but honestly I cant even be bothered at this point. The series was ok overall, the ending anticlimactic and the epilogue sweet. I dont think academy books are for me. I've tried a couple now and some are good but its hit and miss for me
What a great way to end a book and series. I totally love December and Easton they make a great love story come alive. With so many twists and turns and a few sad moments, the rest of the book makes up for it. As these parts build the book up so much that it blows your mind. Totally recommend and loved the five year future view in the epilogue ❤😍
December cannot be any better! This series is worth the read! So fast paced that I cannot put the book down after first in the series! I was thrilled to finally read the final book!
I loved this series and waited excitedly for the last book. I enjoyed reading this and while yes you do see a little of what is coming there are definite surprises and twist. Very enjoyable
Another major good guy didn't make it to the end but at least a couple of baddies met their end so that kind of makes up for it. Everyone else lived happily ever after.
It is free on audible at the moment, if you have an account.
When Easton is kidnapped by the dark queen, and Fin the King, dies due to a mystery sickness, Easton's abusive father somehow takes the throne and forbids anyone to go save his son. RedFlag's anyone?
So, when December realizes she can't do anything to save her soulmate she enters into a depression. She sleeps for days. The new king has threatened her, her parents, her friends, and his own wife's life if she leaves the campus. He tells them that they will all be sent to the Fae Reform School (more like a prison for young Fae's) and then he will kill his wife so he can be with one of the STUDENTS at the academy. The bully of the entire series is his secret lover.... gross.
After finally getting out of her depression, she finally gets back to the old December and basically says "screw the king" until Freya, Easton's mom comes in and explains how she has been portraying this weak woman when in fact she is a strong fae that has been glamouring her husband into thinking he has been giving her the punishments he thinks of. In reality, she never suffered the way Easton thought she did. Everything she did, she did to protect him from her husband. With this new development they leave once Freya glamours the king.
And of course, the dark queen is waiting for them because the king is a traitor who KILLED Fin and allowed the dark queen to kidnap his own son all so he can be the king and have the power that title holds. The group also find out that Puck, December and Shilia's grandfather did not betray them. He was caught trying to protect Easton and has been imprisoned since. December goes nuts at the sight of Easton's broken body and someone heals him with her thoughts and using the elements. He is able to surprise attack the dark queen enough for December and her parents to raise a full fledge attack on her. At first it doesn't work, she only laughs. This gets December even more upset and suddenly more power comes out of her and the dark queen becomes scared. They begging to fight midair and all of a sudden, the dark queen is attacked by one of Decembers lightning bolts and falls to her death. In doing so, her death wakes up all the "bad faes" and we find out that she used her controlling power on them and they really are not bad. They were being controlled by a bad fae. Then the new king, tries to kill December, but Freya comes in the nick of time and uses tree branches to stab him. And then everyone is reunited.
In the epilogue, Eli and Chris are expecting another baby and December is excited. Her and Easton and instilled as king and queen of the different races of the fae, and then surprising her, Easton proposes to December.
There is another jump where December is doing her royal duties and Easton comes in with their 8-month year old girl, Finley (AWWW) and announces that she is pregnant.
Sheila and Charles are married, and she is the headmaster of the school.
Perfect ending.

I didn’t like this book as much as the first three. Yes, it’s totally fine and reasonably satisfactory in terms of it being the last in the series, but… it’s ridiculously predictable. The other three books were predictable too, but they still felt fresh and fun, which the final book did not. There was no depth. The book has great potential, but it feels like it could have been SO much better.
Let’s start with the good things. I enjoyed reading it, despite its issues. It’s an easy read that doesn’t require much of its reader, and I don’t regret reading it by any means. December continues to be a great protagonist who has grown throughout the series, and I think she might be one of my favorite protagonists out of all the ones I’ve encountered in recent years! I like her.
That said, her relationships have grown increasingly superficial throughout the series. December forgave Puck—her grandfather—way too easily once finding out who he was, only to instantly turn on him again when Easton was taken. I understand the need to plant doubt, but her opinions changed extremely drastically with no nuance what so ever. I would have liked to see some more complexity to that relationship. Perhaps it was meant to show off how naive December could be, but she didn’t strike me as a naive character..! On a whole, the relationships in the book tend to be either all good or all bad (very black and white), and there is never anything in between to make it feel more realistic.
There were several other issues with this book that made the story unrealistic, such as no one realizing who December’s mom was until they told them, even though it has been said repeatedly that they look almost exactly the same. It was also in incredibly obvious that Easton’s dad was a traitor from the start. These things are not dealbreakers for me, but they could have been handled better.
It’s a cute story and a nice ending (who doesn’t like a happy ending?), but the “ultimate battle” was very anticlimactic. Saving Easton, killing his dad and the queen was all way too easy for my liking, and it was over before I could blink. All that buildup for only a few sentences of resolution..? The books made it seem like the queen of the Zephers was extremely powerful and that only December had a shot at taking her down, but the way it happens in the book makes it seem almost easy, and makes me wonder why no one else had tried and succeeded before?
The story as a whole is good and it’s one I will remember, but this last book felt somewhat poorly executed. It didn’t make me feel anything at all. Overall, this was an enjoyable series to read and it brought back the love I had for reading as a teenager. It was also a positive surprise as I expected nothing when first picking it up. Could this last book have been better? Yes, definitely, but the story is good and I will miss the fictional universe the author created here.

The finale to the Oberon Academy series does in fact get a lot more interesting than the rest of the books. It feels like Wendi Wilson was putting the pieces in place for the epic finale, and honestly it makes me like the series as a whole much more.
I was surprised with all of the attacks and (the latter wasn't that much of a surprise actually). An issue I have with most of the fast paced series I tend to binge is the characters changing emotions so quickly. It truly gives me whiplash how a character can be in love with someone who makes their lives hellish. Maybe it's just me, but when I say I like enemies to lovers, I like when the enemies know everything about each other but still fall in love, not just bullies who prey on surface level things.
While the ending was cute and wrapped everything up, the epilogue ends with December pregnant with her second child five years later, aka at 23. Truly, couldn't be me, but I guess I'm happy for her. Overall, I think this book completed December's story in an action packed way, and I enjoyed it more than the rest of the series.
And, so this series comes full circle in the most expected ways. Overall, it was an easy read and the build up from book 3 paid off reasonably well. In fact, I think this was my favourite entry in the series, despite being a little short. The plot was concise, the characters fully developed, and a storyline that wasn't so jerky or cringy. This series is a little out of my demographic but unlike the last one, this one is definitely back in the YA genre of teen fantasy. If you want an easy read, this series is alright. It's like Harry Potter but less warm and more dramary...
This series is absolutely fantastic and definitely one that I would absolutely recommend. This book is great with it's twists and turns, that leave you guessing who the double agent is and what their agenda is. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down it is that addictive, I really enjoy the way that Wendi writes her characters, as I get invested in them and really want a happy ending for December and her family. Although I'm gutted that this series has come to an end. I can't wait to see what Wendi has got in store for us next 😊💖
Loved, Loved, LOVED this series!!! So many twists and turns, Fae, and soulmates!! Family, Friends and love & loyalty!!! I am glowing with love for this awesome YA Fantasy Romance series!!! A perfect ending to leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy.
If you love YA, Fantasy, Romance, Fae, Fae taking over the world, and friends and family fighting together to stop the wicked Fae, then you will ADORE this book!!!
A 5hr audio book. The ending to this was annoying, Idk if the author didnt think it through or if I am just being too realistic but (Potential Spoiler Alert) bad guys dont wait weeks to torture someone. I also would like to understand the whole power level thing going on in this story, seams to me like the fae dont know what powers they really do have. Despite this rant, I think this book was good.
This title has multiple meanings to it, I think. The ups and downs of war, the challenge of seeking the truth, and the love that will stay strong. This book had lots of movement and many challenges "D" had to overcome. Love the ending and how things ended up. A good series to read and enjoy, if you are into fantasy and hint a of romance.
This last book did not disappoint in any way. I am so happy I stumbled upon this series. I love the characters and the story. Don't pass this series by!
An epic finale to a wonderful series! I absolutely enjoyed this series tremendously. Definitely a must read! So many twists and turns and just utterly amazing. I’m so excited to read more from Wendi!
I loved the whole series of these books ,a bit less lovey dovey would be better and why the writer has started using swear words in this last book I don't know ,quite unnecessary.
1/5 🌟 Well then…😶 It lived up to my expectations and I had expected nothing. The childish writing put me the hell off. The entire series build up for nothing but that rushed ending is just unbelievable.
Cute fantasy/YA series of perseverance, identity and found family. FMC has a bottomless vat of loyalty to those she loves and has resilience in spades.
FYI— Love storyline is pure and any hanky-panky is glossed over/closed door. I’d call it a 15+ series.
