I'm a pretty critical reader - I'll be the first to admit that. I read the author's previous two books and while I enjoyed them immensely, I have to admit that this is, by far, his best work to date. Very well researched, and a very enjoyable read from the first page to the last. I love the fact that his primary characters started in the first book and have continued through to the 3rd. This book is obviously a direct parallel to Marilyn Monroe, and contains characters that are 'eerily similar' to other famous personages of the time frame the story is based in - Robert Kennedy, Howard Hughes and several others. It gives a really good idea of what the relationships were between a number of notable figures, and into what likely truly happened to end Marilyn's life. I won't say that the ending surprised me, but I was happy with it - it brought the story full circle and provided closure. I read this one twice - primarily because I was reading before bed after some long work days, and I wanted to give it my full attention before writing a review. It was worth the 2nd read, absolutely, Read his first two books first - they set the stage for some very important characters in this book.
