So Hectic

Rate this book
A Super Spicy, Enemies to Lovers, Playboy, standalone romance from critically acclaimed author Eve Dangerfield

Tabby DaSilva’s life sucks. Her dad’s AWOL, her Prosecco-themed music festival ‘Sparkling Whine’ bombed, and her big sister’s pregnancy means she’s officially transitioning from ‘youngest kid’ to ‘weird aunt.’ But hardest to take is her best friend Toby Tennant becoming pure evil.
Relieving him of his virginity was supposed to seal their alliance. Instead, Mr Nice Guy vanished only to resurface as a full-blown finance douche, complete with Lamborghini and a podcast shilling creatine every five minutes.
Frankly, it’s a fate worse than death.
But Tabby has the perfect solution: run away! All she needs is enough cash to start a new life in Colombia, and since Toby’s petitioning for her to tattoo him, what’s a girl to do but slowly inject ink into her enemy’s rippling Ken doll torso?
Little does she know that her ex-best friend doesn’t really want a tattoo. Toby wants her, mind, body, and soul. He's spent the last two years becoming the Sugar Daddy of Tabitha DaSilva's dreams, and he’s finally ready to show her that he can take care of her and dominate her in ways she can’t even imagine…

SO HECTIC is a full-length contemporary novel and is the third and final book in the Silver Daughters Ink Series.

4.5 STARS!!
That was the beauty of obsession... In a world of ridiculous, unexpected, painful things, it was delicious to find yourself in a place where all that mattered was him.
So Hectic was so worth the wait!! And while it wasn't anything like I expected it to be, it was still an amazing end to an amazing series. I love this family! 😍

Tabby is the youngest DaSilva sister, the wild and free one. Always fun and impulsive. And Toby has been 100% in love with her since almost the moment they met. Unfortunately, he finds himself firmly in the friend zone.

After a night of partying, they accidentally-on-purpose end up in bed together and despite their amazing chemistry . . .
He'd realised that nothing, not even fucking him senseless, would ever make Tabby see him as her match. He'd known then that he had to go and become her match.
. . . and much to Tabby's dismay, he ghosts her.

Fast forward a couple of years and Toby is a new man . . . and Tabby wants nothing to do with him. But the new Toby proves irresistible.
He'd grown up in a hyper-controlled environment. For better or worse, he knew how to exert that control over others, and he'd craved that dynamic with girls even before he'd really understood what sex was.
Good grief, the kink in this book singed the pages. If degradation role play is your thing, this book is a huge must!
"If you're too ashamed to look at me, then shut your eyes while you take my dick."
And with this 'in' to Tabby's life, Toby makes a run at the brass ring.
It was the man he was that scared her as she stared into his pale blue eyes. Not the fake rage and entitlement, but the genuine affection beneath it.
Tabby puts up a good fight since she'd been burned by him in the past.
He was trying to tell her something when there was nothing she wanted to hear except exceptionally filthy sex talk.
But you know what they say, love conquers all.

I am so fucking disappointed she will not get her story! I don't judge the decision the author made to stop writing but leaving this series like this is super disappointing. *sigh*

I loved it so so much. Gosh, what a wonderful, heartfelt ending of a series.

To be honest, Tabby wasn't my favourite in the previous books, too much of everything, too over the top... But damn, did I like her in this book, all her struggles were relatable and real.

Both, Tabitha and Toby, went through a decent character development and I loved how much they grew, I ate up every little bit of the drama. I appreciated the whole family being a part of the book as well, it was lovely to see all of the sisters and their partners again.

All in all, it was lovely.

Thank you, Mel and Izzy, for reading it with me!

It’s out today!!!!

I received an ARC of this book, which releases 5/23/24… and there is a preorder link on Amazon…

…and I loved it!! Full disclosure, I always enjoy Eve’s books. Her writing, her characters, even her spice, it all just does it for me. That being said, I haven’t loved every single one. My favorites are now Degrees of Control, Act Your Age, and now… So Hectic!!

This is the story of the youngest sister, Tabby, and her best friend Toby. They’re very dysfunctional, but for valid reasons. I was very skeptical of the whole idea that he had to desert her to become a viable romantic interest, but that turned out to not be a problem, because so was Tabby. At some point she even called him a “nice guy incel” and I cackled with glee. That being said, Tabby is far from perfect. In fact, she’s extremely messed up, which is the only reason I couldn’t exactly hate Toby for ghosting her and coming back as an asshole. She did take him for granted. She loved him, but she didn’t appreciate him. But most of all, she wasn’t ready for the kind of love he would have given her.

As per usual, the spice was amazing. Eve usually nails role play, and this was no different. Tabby had a thing for being a bought and paid for sugar baby, and also for some levels of degradation (not serious- just the idea, really). Besides the sex, the best part of the story was the side characters. Maisy, Toby’s surrogate mother, as well as her pack of middle-aged divorceés. Mopsy, the breeding spaniel. Edgar, the dad. I hadn’t read the first two books in this series, which I was worried about, but that didn’t end up mattering. In fact, now I’m just even more excited to go back and read those two so I don’t have to leave this wonderful, quirky little world.

I do want to say one thing: there are some triggers around infertility, so if that’s something you’re sensitive to and need more info, message me. I can be sensitive to it as well, but the details here didn’t bother me. Probably because I know better than anyone the complicated feelings that can go along with… what happened.

Such a beautiful and heartfelt conclusion to the Silver Daughters Ink. Definitely my favourite out of the three.

Deeply personal, to the point where it was sometimes uncomfortable, but in a good way. It's like watching your best friend struggle, knowing you need to let them sort shit out on their own timeline. It can be frustrating, but when you see them on the other side of it - oh, it's just glorious. That's how I felt for Toby and Tabby, they took their sweet time being absolute plonkers. I wanted to smack some sense into them more than once. Still, I can't say the journey wasn't fun. Eve Dangerfield will always deliver the fun and the flames with a dash of the signature kink. So, sooo good.

Over and out

2 stars | This was so amazing in the beginning that it got me out of a serious book slump. Unfortunately it doesn’t stay that way and left me feeling sad. Kinda wish I hadn’t read it tbh.

My notes and highlights are full of spoilers so read those at your own risk.

The focus of the book was very much on the bdsm elements (exhibitionism, sugar daddy/baby arrangements, cuckold roleplay, treating FMC like a sex doll, degradation stuff) which is fine had they also dived into emotional intimacy as well. (I do have a bone to pick with whoever tagged this book as “praise kink” on Romance.io because it is the OPPOSITE). They both supposedly love each other but Neither MC is honest about their feelings or treats their partner like they’re anything but fuck buddies. After they have sex he will ask her if she is okay with what they did and SHE LIES. Everything between them is consensual but when one partner is upset after but never says anything it feels wrong and unsafe.

Biggest pet peeve was how often the MMC rubbed the other women he was with after her in the FMC’s face.

I wanted scenes about them becoming friends again and talking about things that matter but we got none of that (except in the big blowout at 80% and that is the only time they actually communicate the entire book). The last 20% is the MC’s communicating with all the secondary characters instead of each other. She says, “I love you” in the final reunion scene which lasts a few sentences…and that’s it. The epilogue is from her dad’s POV who had fucked off for 2 years. Yippee.

I was so disappointed by this book. I usually love Eve Dangerfield's writing and I've been waiting for Tabby and Toby's story. I was hoping for a friends to lovers, opposite attracts tale about growing together and two people realising they were exactly what they need.

This really isn't that. It starts out like that, but then takes such a stupid and unrealistic turn.

In the prologue Tabby and Toby finally sleep together. For someone who's read the series, this should have been a major part of the story. But instead the sex is glossed over, and Toby stupidly takes one (of the many) outlandish suggestions from Tabby and reshapes his whole life around it. And in order to do that, he abandons the girl he claims to love. He knows she has been abandoned by both her parents. He knows she is depressed. But he does it anyway. nd then is surprised later when she's mad about it.

I usually love Eve Dangerfield's books because they are so different. But this was so cliche. Toby went from a lovely and loving guy into a complete alpha hole. He slept with hundreds of girls and transformed himself into the least sexy person ever - a finance bro. Shudder!

Meanwhile our previously promiscuous Tabby has gone the opposite way. Because of course she has. We can't have the heroine sleeping around like the hero does, can we! I really thought Eve Dangerfield would subvert that stupid storyline. But no. Tabby pines whilst Toby has threesomes. So predictable.

I loved Tabby in the previous books but she's unrecognisable here. I understand some of that is due to her depression (which makes Toby and her sisters' treatment of her so awful.) But one makeover session, organised and paid for by Toby, seems to cure that. It's all pretty insulting and not a great example of mental health issues. And as a result of this makeover Tabby loses all her fun and individuality, becoming another beige beauty who somehow doesn't mind being treated like crap both inside and outside the bedroom.

In fact the main message of this book seems to be that both characters feel like they need to completely change themselves in order to be worthy of the other. It's like they both remodel themselves into a 50 Shades of Grey couple. So dull and such a damaging message.

Somehow the sex scenes are so boring that I just skipped past most of them. They are just copy and paste from Sam and Nicole's books. Another Silver sister who likes role play and wants to be degraded by her lover. Which is fine but repetitive when it literally reads the same between each sister. I personally think Tabby and Toby's first time together would have been far hotter. I was hoping for some Domme action from Tabby! Now that would have been interesting.

Finally the ending feels so rushed and forced. Sam and Nicole are awful sisters who again are unrecognisable from previous books. Toby does realise the error of his ways but it's right at the end, so he does hardly any groveling. It's all fixed with a surprise pregnancy which I hate as a trope. Babies do not fix relationships!

There's no growth in any character and I really don't know what Toby and Tabby see in each other. Their relationship just seems so toxic that you can't see it lasting. I'm so disappointed as I had such high hopes for their story.

This book is a very particular enemies to lovers.

And by that I mean they started as friends and due to their shortcomings and lack of understanding they became enemies because their attraction was so big.

This book is all about big feelings, big life moments, and equally big spicy scenes. And this is extraordinary, for this book is full of substance, it's not your usual erotic romance. It left me with a lot of thoughts.

Ultimately it's about people coming from dysfunctional families trying to get their footing. There were some scenes that broke my heart and maybe I wanted Tabby to rise up more, do more. But don't we hope WE would do that?! While probably her reactions, given the terrible situation, were quite natural.

The book's main themes are this heart trial that comes as a culmination for all the 3 sisters. And the way Tabby and Toby built their relationship, which is full of hot, hot, sizzling moments and fills so much of the story. Eve Dangerfield has a special talent to create the quiet guy that unleashes in bed and Toby is a stellar example of her skill. At one point, and that is the point, the hotness gets a bit into nauseatic territory and it becomes to lose it luster.

Did I like this book?! Well, I did gave it one sleepless night of my life. Do I regret it? No. It is superbly written, it flows wonderful on the page, I couldn't put it down - hence the sleepless night. The characters have such well shaped identities and Taby is such a special one. And it was truly complex in the psychology it unravels so how can one not appreciate fully this level of talent?!

Maybe this was intriguing for me due to the heart matters. You may read it just for the hotness, and that is perfectly great, you will probably adore it, this book has so much to offer!

I got this in order to share my view on it.

I wanted to give this more stars, but the rampant misogyny disguised as “kink” was just way too off-putting.

Tabby and Toby have consistently been my favorite characters throughout the series, so my hopes for this book were unreasonably too high.

Tabby’s personality stayed pretty true to character from the previous books.

Toby’s personality got the “body snatched” treatment when the author, I guess, decided they didn’t actually want to write a story with a decent human being as the MMC. So instead we got Toby 2.0, a “nice guy incel” (the authors exact words). And that was a real tragedy for me. RIP genuinely kind Toby.

The sex was some of the least romantic sex I’ve ever read. Degradation, humiliation, male-centered drivel. I don’t know who wrote those scenes, but it wasn’t a woman.

And literally every character in this book (with the exception of Maisy) was just a terrible person. Mean, emotionally volatile, selfish, unlikable.

And yet! I still enjoyed reading this book. 😂 I would not reread it though. The meanness of the sex was too traumatizing.

Play by play and spoilers below:

********************************

Toby’s inner monologue is hysterical. 😂 2%

“Maybe I should give up on having a job and lean into being some rich guy’s fuckdoll. I think I’d be good at that.”
Tabby’s new life-plan is 😚👌🤣4%

Why did we fade to black??????! 6%

Oh ok. Flashback details. Phew.

“It took everything she had not to go through his social media and fuck everyone who’d ever meant anything to him out of revenge, including his dad.” 🤣 9% I would read that book!

I can’t think of a reason that could justify Toby ghosting her. I hope the author has a better imagination than I do.

Was Toby body-snatched? Why is he suddenly an asshole? 10%

Ok I totally thought that was her mom!!!! Excellent foreshadowing by the author. 13%

Oh poor sweet, stupid Toby. Yes women (and men) want a rich husband, but not if it means being married to a douche bag. We’d rather be poor than financially dependent on an asshole. 25%

I want to claim that kind people like Toby (from the first two books) don’t turn into douche lord Toby (from this book) but I have had first-hand experience with this, and the author is writing it so well. Totally spot on! 😭 32%

Stop trying to make “cooked” happen. Gen Z is not reading your books. 34%

So…. this kind of reads like an adolescent male fantasy. Nerdy boy falls for hot girl, she friend zones him, nerdy boy gets rich and hot, comes back into her life, treats her like shit, and hot girl can’t keep her hands off him. I wanted better for Toby and Tabby. 😭 40%

I’m gonna need to go reread Heated Rivalry to remember not all men are assholes. Sure. They’re fictional men written by a woman, but apparently that’s how I like my men. 😂

Sam is seriously insane. 46%

I did not think I was going to like the Cinderella makeover montage…but damn! I was wrong! 52%

The sex in this is straight male-fantasy. No female fantasizes about being used as an object. 56%

I am not here for this. 😑 I do not read romance for “fuckboi energy”. You can’t just call “being an asshole to women” a kink. 63%

Ok. I just need to say this for whatever women reading this have experienced miscarriage. Stress causing miscarriage is so unlikely. Humans have babies during war, in refugee camps, in all kinds of stressful conditions. Miscarriage is about the viability of the fetus. It’s not because you’re not “zen” enough. Even the most chill women on earth have had a miscarriage. 68%

Some of the least romantic sex I’ve ever read. 69% It’s hard to even be like “well, I won’t yuck on someone else’s yum” when the “yum” in question is just straight misogyny. If you’re “yum” is women being treated terribly, then maybe it’s time to do some personal work.

Boo. I hate when these people are mean to each other. (Noah to Toby) 71% Maybe I’m a grudge-holder, but I would never forgive someone treating me the way these people treat each other.

Six-inch pumps?! This author has either never worn heels, or they’re a drag queen. No woman is driving a car, much less walking around, in six-inch heels. 73%

Yikes! What is this weird story line with their mother??? 76%

This might be the only time I’m hoping the FMC isn’t pregnant. But Tabby and Toby are for real toxic and no kid should be born in to the hellscape they’ve created. 79%

The use of a Lindsay Gibson quote at the beginning of this book is pretty bold considering the author has written some of the most emotionally immature characters I’ve ever read. (ACEIP is a fantastic book and Dr. Gibson is lovely.)

These are like just legitimately terrible people. 😂 85% and I can’t tell if the author wrote them that way on purpose, or if the author has never had a healthy relationship before.

I need to remember that this author doesn’t write love stories. They write heartbreak stories. It’s always betrayal and self-sabotage and people being really, really mean. To themselves and each other. This is like a soap opera, not a romance. 86% (Like Cate C Wells)

I prefer to read stories with likeable characters, but I get the appeal of reading train-wreck stories too.

If I never read the word “dahling” again, it will be too soon. 79 times this book inflicted it on the reader. 88%

My brain always wants to identify a “good guy” so that I can cheer them on. But sometimes everyone is a bad guy. Like this series. (Except Maisy. She’s pretty great.)

This is such a lovely HEA and wrap up of the entire series. And usually I feel a sense of longing for the characters, like, that I’ll miss them when the series ends. But these people are so quick to anger and so viscous when they do get angry that I’m mostly relieved to not have to worry about their explosive tempers anymore. 94%

This was a really beautiful book about community, love, the importance of communication (and hot hot chemistry between the protagonists).
I couldn't put it down and it was a delight to read it. The characters felt so real and alive, with all their beauty and flaws.

10/10 would recommend and also the spice is *chef's kiss*, as is to be expected from Eve Dangerfield.

Welcome Home.

Silver Daughters Ink will see you now.

If you aren't an honorary DaSilva yet, you'll want to be one by the time you read "the end."
Coming home is hard. Being yourself amidst strong personalities is difficult. Finding your self drifting and wondering what happened- reality.

The DaSilvas have had a rough few years. Wild, Steady, and now Hectic! Each one has gained perspective, a man, and life experience. This time Tabby stars in her own story. Supported and loved but still feeling alone, she tries to feel anything.

She winds up feeling everything! Come home to SDI. Laugh, love, and cry with us. You'll love every minute.

(Oh and the "smashing" is wicked hot!)

So Hectic is an instant classic 5 star read for me. It had all the amazing kinky spice and laugh out loud humor I’ve come to expect from Eve Dangerfield, but also a whole lot of heart too. I found myself tearing up a few times. I’m reading the two previous books in the series asap! I’m also OBSESSED with Maisy and how she talks just like Baabara from Animal Crossing. And Mopsy the dog, of course!

Whoa, Tabby and Toby hit a heat level that was all their own! We knew these two had crazy chemistry, but when it was unleashed, frenetic, cataclysmic, and stratospheric passion overtook them both in the most wild of ways. I mean, they still couldn’t communicate worth anything, and there were lots of external factors pressuring them, so the emotions were there, just manifesting differently. It did all eventually come together, and all the loose ends ties up, and HEA’s happened all around <3

Eve Dangerfield rarely misses.

When this series first came out I was hooked and with good reason. I can say this last one was, without a doubt, the best of the three.

And the other two are amazing books all on their own.

Maisy is delicious and this epilogue was cry worth.

Give this one a go. Give all of Dangerfield's work a go, she is an excellent writer and nine out of ten, I'm glad to have read her works.

*****************CAUTION: My shelves are filled with spoilers!**************

4.5* rounded up to 5*.

This hit the spot! It wasn't "perfect" literature, but that isn't a huge priority of mine, I'm all about the overall vibes of a story. This second chance story was unique, I don't think I've ever come across a shy, pining nerdy mmc setting out on a mission to become a rich arrogant playboy Sugar Daddy. The story grabbed me quickly, kept my attention throughout, and was just a lot of fun to read. I love Eve Dangerfield's writing, and although I realize that her humor isn't for everyone, I think she's freaking hilarious. Her quirky brand of humor was stellar in this one, the fmc's creative insults had me rolling on the floor. I was also surprised by all of the angst and emotion in this smutty little kinkfest, sometimes it's difficult to find erotic reads that include a bit of emotional depth.

If you've read any of Dangerfield's other books, you already know that her sex scenes are usually amazing, and this book continues that tradition. The couple's shared kink, role play with degradation, was negotiated in advance. The scenario involved cucking her imaginary boyfriend, with heavy degradation playing a big part during those scenes. I'm not typically a fan of degradation in sex scenes, so I was shocked and surprised when their consensual role play scorched my undies into ashes. I never thought I'd find degradation hot, kudos to Eve Dangerfield for teaching me something new about myself!

One final thought, this story doesn't include a groveling mmc, so you may want to keep that in mind if you decide to read this. I'm the rare reader who is able to enjoy a romance that doesn't include groveling, and the epilogue had a ton of feels, so I thought their HEA was both adorable and believable. If you enjoyed the previous two books in this series, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

ARC REVIEW (thanks NETGALLEY!)

I havent Read the rest of the series so jumping into the last book was kind of weird. Tabby and Toby (ugh) were besties and from what I gather Tabby was a super bad ass sexy tattoo artist and Toby was just a nerd with weird parents who bred dogs? One day Toby confessed to Tabby that he’s a virgin and she gets rid of that and it’s amazing for both of them. Tabby had made some off hand comment that maybe she should get herself a sugar daddy and Toby takes the idea and runs. Literally runs because he ghosts tabby for 2 years to reinvent himself. They’re reunited after 2 years and start some kind of really weird really, hot hate-sex role play relationship. Side plot involves Tabby’s dead beat mom showing back up in her and her sisters lives. Their dad (im assuming this happened in previous book) fucked off and disappeared for a few years. Idk Tabby runs away from everyone after love confession from Toby and SURPRISE she finds out she’s pregnant. Dad comes back from his sojourn or whatever. The End.

I dunno how i felt about this one the spicy scenes were pretty kinky and hot but the plot and how (mostly Toby) character changed at the turn of a page really threw me.

I think this book is trying to wrestle with some pretty weighty questions about identity and how much of who you are is what you present to the world vs what you are on “the inside” but I am sorry to say it doesn’t really do so with any kind of insight or wit. Instead you have a MMC who is an asshole on purpose and a FMC who dyes her hair brown and finds herself. The sex is hot, up until the surprise pregnancy at the very end. I hate surprise pregnancy.

4 stars. This was a good book! So Hectic is book three in the Silver Daughter's Ink series and the final sister, Tabby's book. I have read and enjoyed the first two books in the series, but I had honestly forgotten much of the details about those books. Still, that did not hinder my enjoyment of this book at all.

This is Toby and Tabby's book. Toby was the slightly nerdy best friend of Tabby, the youngest DeSilva sister. He had a crush on her at the time, but nothing had ever happened between them. Tabby liked Toby so much and didn't want to lose his friendship, so she kept him at arm's lengh. But one very steamy night, everything changes between them. Afterwards, Tabby hoped this was a new beginning for them, but Toby blew her off by text and left town, leaving her hurt. Now, several years later, Tabby's going through a rough time. Her mother who left her family as a small child has reappeared, her father is still missing and her sister is struggling with fertility issues. Toby shows back up and seems to be a completely different person. A rich, jerky, playboy. She doesn't recognize him as her old friend and is still hurt by his blowing her off. But she's decided that she wants to leave town to get away from everything stressing her out. When Toby offers her a lot of money to tattoo him, she decides to take the money and put up with the "new Toby" to get what she wants. Little does she know that when Toby left, he did so to reinvent himself into the kind of man that Tabby really needed and that could take care of her needs in all ways.

This book was good. Toby and Tabby's dynamic was interesting and different. Toby could be mean at times and it made me not sure if I liked him for a bit. I felt really bad for Tabby because he had really hurt her. I wasn't sure if their relationship could grow beyond their past, but it did. Although I wanted them to communicate a little better, I ended up really liking them. I wanted to see a little more of the "old Toby" come back a bit. Also, I wanted more of a glimpse into their everyday relationship after the climax and how they made it work. Still, their making up was really sweet and I was happy they worked things out between them. They were a really good match. I do think I will go back and reread the first two books of this series to remind myself of Toby and Tabby's dynamic at that time.

Overall, this was a good story and the ending was a cute way to wrap up the series. So Hectic has Ms. Dangerfield's unique blend of steaminess, angst and humor. I enjoyed this book and just writing this review makes me want to reread it asap. I am sad to see this series end but I look forward to more from Ms. Dangerfield in the future!

4-4.5 stars.

What a lovely end to the series. The wait for Tabby’s book was well worth it, in my opinion. When reading an Eve Dangerfield novel, you can always expect to find the steam level set to 1000, and Tabby’s book did not disappoint. It was definitely filled with an abundance of steamy, kinky scenes between Toby and Tabby, but it was the deeper plot within that really made this book shine.

Tabby and Toby’s relationship was a bit of a rollercoaster. I have to admit they both frustrated me at times (Toby more than Tabby tbh lol), but I do think they had a lot of childhood issues working against them, and they acted in a way that kept self preservation at the top of their agendas. While this is a romance novel between Toby and Tabby, and there are many things I can spoil about that here lol, I think this was a love story for the DaSilva sisters as well.

There were a lot of heavy topics in this one, and the DaSilva sisters were put through the wringer here. I especially felt for the journey that Nix and Tabby go through. There were a lot of difficult situations and emotions that they were dealing with, and I think Eve did a good job of showing them react in a very human way. When a person goes through tragic or traumatic situations, they won’t always react in a pretty way, and you could see that with the DaSilva sisters. I think that made this novel so much more riveting to me. They felt like real people struggling and reacting in ways that were unique to their personalities and learned habits. They go though so much chaos here and their relationship took heavy hits, but they come out whole, at peace, and with a sister-bond that is stronger than ever.

I won’t forget about the men that fully accept them and their chaotic selves, and do their best to hold them up when things get rough. Well, this is an Eve Dangerfield novel, so I guess I should say the men that hold them down when things get rough (insert wink here) lol. The guys had great scenes together that showed the depth of their characters. Seeing the men struggle in their own ways as well helped tie the strength this family has by the time you get to the end of the novel.

Overall, this was a wonderful way to wrap up the trilogy. Eve held nothing back here and now I’m sad that this is the last we’ll see of the DaSilva sisters. I guess I’ll just have to come back and reread the series again and enjoy the lovely final epilogue where everyone gets their own version of their HEA :’)

I liked it more than the last book but something was missing. I found this more dramatic and almost mean to the characters. After everytjing they went through (especially the sisters) i hoped to read more joyful things but nooo. Toby's way of thinking was dumb and Tabby's way of being oblivious was annoying. They still were great together but they deserved more real moments (the sex was explicit but their sweet moments were told.
I found Edgar confusing. I totally understand he wanted his daughters to grow but not be here in pivotal moments was bad ...
Overall i liked this series but was not as into it as i hoped. There was a lot of potential though.

Where to begin? This book is hot. Stupidly hot. Despicably hot, even!
Tabitha and Toby were complex characters driven by the past that shaped them. She’s aimless and ready to run at the drop of a hat, while Toby’s determined to be man enough for her, so much so that he completely changes his life.
There were some pretty deep lessons in this story, which isn’t surprising if you’ve read this author before. She does smut like a boss, but with a side of pathos and angst that will make you weep. [insert smutty joke here about moisture at both ends!]
All in all, these perfectly imperfect characters really held my attention. The DaSilva sisters have really been through it and it’s a beautiful ending to see them come to a pleasing conclusion.
Could not recommend it more.

I think Eve Dangerfield definitely deserves more street cred. Her spice is top of the line and her characters are really enjoyable for me. I didn’t love Tabitha quite as much as I liked Charlotte in Degrees of Control but I still liked her. And I’m full send for our guy Toby. Enjoyed this book enough that I’m gonna plan to go back and read the first 2 in this series.

I liked getting back into this world! The beginning of the book was a bit rocky for me. I wasn’t a huge fan of tabby or Toby, but the steamy scenes were fantastic from the get go. Loved this dynamic. As the story went on, we got to know Toby and tabby better and I realized they were much more complex than it seemed at the start. In fact, I wish this book were a little longer and we were able to dive deeper into their minds. They are great, complicated characters and I feel like if we had seen more of their development as individuals (and as a couple) happen on page, that would have been great. I even think there is enough material and depth to them and this storyline that this could have been a duet. But either way, I do recommend!

I hate to give this a low stars but storywise, this was rushed and kinda ass for the characterisation.

I love Tabby and Toby's relationship on the twins' books but the author kinda forced Toby's whatever alpha male induced finance gym bro shots in his body and made him RAH RAH scary. They didn't get to explore much things unless it's about sex after the reconciliation. Sucks so bad I should've gotten more lovey dovey cute moments where Toby blushes a lot at the sight of Tabby *sighs*

Nicole and Noah was super shitty for no reason too. I mean they weren't really my favourite but can't believe they went lower in this book then come begging for fucking sorry.

The only consistent characters are Sam and Scott like we love you childhood besties to lovers. Can't believe I'm defending the first couple of the books because they're usually as unflavoured as a boiled chicken but they were so cute in their books and they resolved their own dramas in their books and i respect the king and queen shit.

Love that Edgar's back and he finally had Maisy to always talk to when his kids are finally with their partners instead in their little tattoo studio they grew up.

Initial review:

Love you Tabs but can't finish your book because Toby had become a fucking tool. Adios.

Eve Dangerfield sure was saving the best for last.

Tabby and Toby were best friends until they crossed the line and slept together one night. Shortly after, Toby leaves without a word and spends the next two years remaking himself into the man he thinks Tabby wants. When he comes back, he’s determined to show Tabby just how much he’s changed.

I love, love, loved Tabby. She was a spitfire who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind, but she also had a soft, vulnerable side that I loved. Few authors could pull off writing a character like Toby, but if anyone could, it’s Eve. He’s a sweet, cinnamon roll hero with a filthy mouth, but you can’t help but root for him the entire time. My only issue was, at times, the book was a little too chaotic, and I’d have liked to see Toby and Tabby get their heads out of their asses a little sooner than that. One of the things I love best about this author is her books are sexy, but they always fit the characters and story; she doesn’t write smut for the sake of smut.

Tabby and Toby used to be best friends, but when he ghosted her after a special night together, she was left hating him. Now years later, he's back, only this time he's not the kinda nerdy, sweet guy she used to love. No, he's a rich, douchey finance bro whom she hates even more. The last thing she'd ever do is give him a second chance to break her already broken heart.

Toby took what Tabby said to heart, the night they spent together, even though they were both drunk. Since that night, he's transformed himself into the man he THOUGHT Tabby wanted, and now he's back to claim her. He's going to have fun making her beg him for what he knows they both want. Except...Tabby's mad at him and though it bothers him, he's still intent on making her his. If only the two of them had actually communicated after that night, things might not be so toxic between them now.

My God these two! I wanted to smack both of them for how completely dysfunctional and idiotic they both were. They were seriously hot together, but their mental and emotional states were all kinds of of f-ed up. I can't say I liked either of them, nor do I think that they have long term potential, but by the end, I was glad they had gotten on the same page. I haven't read any of the other books in this series, so I may have come into this one at a disadvantage. I will say the only character I ended up liking is their dad - now he's a character whose story I'd love to read. His daughters? Eh, I don't like them so much, but So Hectic is well written and the spice is top notch, so I can safely give this a 3.5.

Disclosure: I received this through Netgalley.
Eve Dangerfield's "So Hectic" promises a blend of romance and chaos but falters in its execution of character development. The characters, initially intriguing, undergo abrupt and inconsistent changes that feel unearned and out of character. Despite engaging writing and chemistry between characters, the flawed character development detracts from the overall enjoyment. For readers who value consistent and well-rounded character growth, "So Hectic" may prove disappointing.
