Great Story! This is the tale of a young girl with a challenging life that firmly believes it is her destiny to be a great dragon rider and does everything in her power to make it happen. Great characters, action & adventure, and hints at much greater goings on. A great beginning!
Chosen: book 1 - Very Enjoyable! This is a cute & entertaining story about setting a goal and putting in the work to make it happen. It has interesting characters, humor, and DRAGONS! I am greatly looking forward to the next one!
Awakened: book 2 - Awesome! Eist finally gets to meet her dragon. And he is perfectly imperfect, just like her. Raising a dragon isn’t easy, but it is never boring! And don’t forget about school work, bullies, her grandfather, and inadvertently uncovering evil. No wonder she’s always tired. Bring on book 3!
Taken: book 3 - Interesting! The start of her second year is challenging for many reasons...and them things go really wrong! This is a great story with characters you really care about that is building itself up to something even bigger. Can’t wait to continue the story!
I was astounded by some of the negative reviews for this book. I found the story engaging, entertaining, and wonderfully fun. Who doesn't want to have a dragon soul mate? This main character of this book starts out at 14 and in my opinion views the world much how a teenager would. But this is clearly a young adult book with some heavy responsibility involved for our main character, so I find that very fitting. In my opinion, the only downfall to this book is the length. The story is barely getting started when the first book ends. If you read it like I did as if each book is a chapter to a bigger story I think you will enjoy it more. Honestly, if I didn't have kindle unlimited I wouldn't have been able to justify the purchase price for each book to the length. But with KU is was a very enjoyable read.
Having recently read the prequel to this series, I was eager to read this. I found it to be good - involving and enjoyable - but it had me puzzled at times. I couldn't reconcile times - the main character, Eist, daughter of the protagonists in the prequel, had been about 6 when they died ten years before book 1, but nobody mentions The Blight which killed them. They seem to act as if it all happened hundreds of years before. The grandfather, who was an ordinary man in the prequel, has aged hundreds of years. And Eist's parents' names were not the names in the prequel. Anyway, as a standalone it was a good read, but obviously I am thinking about it too much!
So many writers waste their time on specific and graphic sex leaving the story waning. It takes a truly talented storybteller to weave a tale keeping tbe listener attention without resorting to graphic violence or sex. These books accomish the art of story telling with the art of a great story line. Good family read for all thecright reasons.
This is a story about a young girl who's parents were both Dragon Riders killed in Battle. Who is dead set that her destiny is to become a Dragon Riders. Main character is bullheaded, determined, but thinks most thing through. She never bothered to develop friends because all of her energy and time was being spent on learning all she could to become the best.
This story shares many traits of Ann McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern. The hatching and empressing. The colors of the dragons. The feeling that history has been lost or obscured. These facts do not detract or lessen the story's Interest though, Eist and her companions are still very compelling characters.
Love Eist, Fior what a gorgeous dragon..can almost see him 💖. Yalchrist Dille all the rest of the baby dragons. Action family love mystery the whole darn package.. ready for more
Well we travel a little farther along our journey into who knows what. A darn good read with the characters now fully developing into friends and allies plus of course Eist’s new and forbidding enemies. Wow
This series is fun and developed well. There really are twist and turns constantly 🙃 which really keeps you wanting more... and this Author delivers. Enjoy 😉
I read this via Audible. So glad I could read the first 3 stories together – I didn’t want to stop reading! I was immediately drawn into the story of a young wannabe dragon rider – with a disability (I won’t spoil it). This follows her quest to become a dragonrider, and her fight against the evil striving to rise again in her land. The pace was good, and the characters well fleshed out and believable. Looking forward to the next book. Note: “hell” was used a few times. The female narrator at first took a bit of getting used to – she does a good job of changing her voice, but at first, it didn’t seem to me to be ‘weighty’ enough – but I soon was so engrossed in the story that I didn’t care. I received a free copy of the book, with no obligation.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first three books in the Brindle Dragon series. Seeing the characters develop and friendships made, the hatching of the dragons and a great story evolving . Looking forward to the next three books
