Poorlier Drawn Lines is the third graphic novel anthology sourced from Reza Farazmand’s webcomicstrip, Poorly Drawn Lines. This hilarious book reads very quickly, so if you’re a fan of his absurdist, poignant, cute, and weird humor, you might also want to check out his other works, Poorly Drawn Lines: Good Ideas and Amazing Stories, Comics for a Strange World: A Book of Poorly Drawn Lines, and City Monster: A Graphic Novel.

Like Kevin the bird, I too can flip from upbeat to optimistic to devastated all within the three panel comic strip that is my life.... (Also like Kevin’s dad, my dad had a moustache. Appreciate your moustache dad while you have him, Kevin. He gives good advice.)

Reza Farazmand clearly has some sort of mind reading apparatus and knows all my deepest secrets and least funniest jokes. I laughed out loud reading through this collection of comics while my cat silently judged me from across the room. 5 stars! (Out of 5, not the infinite stars of all the galaxies.)

P.S. I am Kevin.

The comics are funny, but they read better as daily strips instead of being read in a row in a book.

- such a fun read!

smashing wee book of incredibly funny cartoons which are all too relatable. The cuteness of the characters is just the cherry on the cake!

Me encantó.

This comic will never not be hilarious. Perfect for angst-ridden adults, but not for the kiddies.

The problem with this book is that it is not infinite and that there is no possible way for me to pick my favorite part.

Honestly, this book is one of the best mood enhancers in the known world.

One of the few books that constantly makes me laugh out loud. Simple yet snarky, pick it up and read a strip or two or the entire book in a sitting.

Farazmand’s third book is every bit as good as his first two. Simply (but not at all poorly) drawn animals (along with a few people, ghosts, skeletons, and one possessed skull) demonstrate human insecurities and failings: social anxiety, anger, greed, depression, self-doubt, and so many more. Funny stuff that will resonate with a lot of imperfect humans.

Farazmand is still super funny, and I liked that the strips worked both individually and as some larger stories. I think reading it as a book all at once might be too much, like the jokes aren't as effective because it's one after another, but I still really enjoyed this.

3.5 stars.

Absurdism meets sentimentality meets word-play. I've enjoyed Farazmand's webcomic for years and was delighted to spend a hour going through this collection. Don't let the simplicity of the art fool you, Farazmand captures a surprising amount of emotion and depth with a few lines.

i can't think of a better use of my time. these animals and people are so funny in a way i cannot describe. i was laughing to myself at 2am in the dark, my screen bright on my eyes so that i could keep flipping through the pages. i bookmarked my favourite ones; which is about half of them. by literally the second page i was loving it, i knew it would be one of the most enjoyable things i've read, or seen, in quite a while. i was very, very right. in the midst of a pandemic, isolation/lockdown, it's been difficult to find something to enjoy so much, like i did before all this. Poorlier Drawn Lines was a remedy for a strong craving for something actually good and enjoyable and funny. this is the perfect thing, especially right now.

Hilarious. This is the first of the books I've read, but I've read the comics online and enjoyed watching the show adaptation.

Farazmand's style is a great blend of optimism, snark, and humor. I really love all the reoccurring Poorly Drawn Lines characters he's created.

Perfect for those who enjoy binging comics. I love webcomics but tend to read a bunch of them at once, take a break for a while, then repeat. So, having a print collection works perfectly.

Weird and delightful.

To escape from studying I picked up this book at the local library. While I was able to escape from my work I was unable to escape from the cloud of my own cynicism and gloom. It was like a mirror! I was confronted by a familiar dark humor, another friendly absurdist. I chuckled a bit too heartily at Reza's comics. What fun to commiserate with a comic book artist and his poorlier drawn lines.

I hadn't read the first one, but was ordering this for the library and was intrigued enough to put it on hold. Farazmand is rather good at shifting between poignant, melancholic, snarky, and optimistic - and believe it or not, those all work well together here. I'll have to pick up the first.

This 3rd book has some of my absolute favorites in it. (Basically any ones where characters are disgusted by the skeleton). But I think if I had to rank them it’d be:
First best-1st book
Second best-3rd book
Third best-2nd book.

An absolute joyful read and funny as hell.. love his work.. I have an intrinsic fear instgram is gonna be obsolete anytime soon or I'd somehow not be able to see the works of artists I absolutely admire and I plan to have their books to always cherish.

Another cute book! I love these quirky characters, and I usually find about 10 comics that I just have to share with everyone I know. I think there’s something for everyone in these simple yet profound comics. Can’t wait to see the next compilation!!
