From USA Today Bestselling author Khardine Gray comes a sizzling hot enemies to lovers office romance.

Dylan has a stare colder than the Arctic.
Even so, I can’t stop staring at him.
I should - the guy’s been a thorn in my side since my father hired him as a consultant. I’m supposed to be taking over the company but it feels like dad doesn’t trust me at all.

To impress him I have to impress Dylan.
Not an easy task when I’m pretty certain Dylan is the devil.

The devil with the kind of gorgeousness that should come with a warning.
One that says ‘look but don’t touch’.

I learned the hard way one late night, when we turned into something more.

A mistake?

Yes, it should be.
Until it happened one more time… and again and again.
Then we became a hot, sinful, secret that could cost us everything.

If you like hot, steamy, romance with gorgeous, drool-worthy bad boys you will love this book. Dive in now for some fun.

One Last Time is a complete standalone and a part of the Bad Boy Bachelors of Orange County series.

2024 reads, #30. This was my latest attempt to read widely and deeply within the world of quickie genre novels published through Kindle Unlimited, in order to stay on top of the latest developments and help out my freelance clients who write and publish under the same circumstances. I would consider this book a textbook example of what I typically expect from such novels, by which I mean it’s aggressively mediocre, the kind of book that deliberately chooses to not expend even one ounce more of energy than absolutely needed to qualify as A Book That Exists And That I Suppose You Can Read In A Single Day If You’re Super Bored Without Necessarily Becoming Infuriated At The Author. As such, it of course features cardboard-cutout characters, an easily guessed plot, the absolute minimum amount of pages needed to count as a “novel” while ironically featuring a storyline that’s much too slow, and a prose style that maddeningly adds a new paragraph break after every single freaking sentence in the entire book, which makes me want to go to the author’s house and give her a high-school tutorial on “How to Write Narrative Prose When It’s Not a Twitter Update, Sheesh, Enough Already.”

I mean, I suppose all this is acceptable, which is why it’s getting three stars from me -- Lord knows, Kindle Unlimited is now filled with millions of these kinds of lowest-common-denominator books, and they’re apparently delivering just enough to keep their always-grinding readers satiated through their book-a-day habits; it’s just always disappointing to me to see authors who don’t even try to be even a little bit better than the absolute minimum required of them to break even with their latest title and thus afford to live another day. I always try to push my clients to be better than this, and books like today’s are a good reminder of why that’s so important for anyone who aspires to something more than “eh, I guess this will do.” Inhale it on your next bored Tuesday with this warning in mind.

I enjoyed Dylan and Taylor's romance. I thought that the chemistry was great, the story fun and the characters likable. The forbidden angle of their relationship added lots of tension, while the hidden similarities they were dealing with added a bit of the awww factor to the read. A very good start to this new series and a very entertaining book. This is my impartial, independent review.

Man I was surprised with this book..I dont remember if I had read from this author or not, but it doesn't matter because I know that I would continue to read regardless.. Taylor works in PR for her dads company and is being groomed to take over for it, everyone in her family is doing good and she is going to prove herself, so imagine her surprise when her dad brings in outside help. Dylan works for the company that they brought in and he also needs to prove to his father that he can take over the family and that he is no longer the bad boy, but both him and Taylor what not expecting the other and man o man, excitement....Grab a copy and enjoy!

This was a good read. Taylor has to work with Dylan. They don't get along at first. However, they soon fall hard and fast. The problem is that his father doesn't take their relationship seriously. This causes problems but luckily it all works out in the end.

Such a great book! I loved it so much and I read it in one sitting. I was so captivated, I didn’t know when time flew by. Dylan and Taylor have so much in common when it comes to their careers, but little when it comes to life outside the office. But when they meet, a fire ignites, at work and anywhere else.

“One Last Time?” is a book full of emotions, with funny moments, with hot moments and reactions that would surprise you. I liked how Dylan has an influence over Taylor’s personality and how he makes her feel free, in a way. The way they challenge each other and their results at work is well described and this complements the intensity of their encounters outside business hours.

The reason I did not give full 5 stars is because Dylan has a bad boy reputation, a cold stare and all that jazz, but I am not convinced. I wanted more proof of that. Also, the ending was too easy. I know, it makes no sense complicating such a great relationship, but still…

Having this in mind, I remain with my 4 stars. I will add that the title is absolutely fitting! Great story, I enjoyed my time with it and immediately moved to book 2.

For starters the situation and set up of this book were not believable. At. All. Taylor’s father brings in Dylan as a consultant to review the last year of her work, and the most damning thing he finds is she’s “over spent” 2 million dollars, of the billion dollars she’s spent on PR. I’m not sure the author comprehends that a billion is 1000 million…so 2 million is peanuts comparatively. The OBVIOUS problem is she’s spent a billion dollars in the last year on PR campaigns! 🤦‍♀️ I know it’s meant to be fiction, but come on, it’s gotta be a little based in reality!

There are a number of other issues that irked me. The dialogue is often stiff and unnatural. Dylan cancels all the suppliers for Taylor’s events in the next 6 months without any consultation and without confirming new ones. It’s then it’s never mentioned again…. He goes out of his way to sabotage her and her relationship with her father, and excuses it by saying “we got off on the wrong foot”. Not the fact he’s clearly under qualified, doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing, but that’s nepotism for you.

They then both spend the rest of the book (9 weeks) calling out from work and screwing each other silly.

Oh gosh. This had all the feels. I love the back and forth between Taylor and Dylan and it's like their very own start to their relationship. The connection is there and the added benefit is that both are trying to prove themselves to Taylor's dad. But you will be smiling, crying, laughing, and everything else in between.

Meh

I liked it. But I still feel like there is something missing, the pace is a little too fast and while there were some steamy scenes I felt like they were rushed andnit was one of those cases of "show, don't tell". No major drama, it solves quickly and the book wraps after that. Everything is just near perfect and fast. Also, maybe I wasn't invested in the story because FMC giggled a lot. Felt silly for someone in her position/age (not sure how old is she, I picture her in her 20s, early 20s maybe, although she says one time that MMC being 32 is old, as in "so much older than her, so who knows 🤷‍♀️).
3 stars because I deliberated DNFing for reasons above but finished it and still didn't feel much for this book.
I think Abby's and Gilly's (silly name for an adult man, I keep picturing a woman) book could be interesting (friends to lovers).

There’s the delicious elements, just a hint, of enemies-to-lovers. Just enough to get the tension rolling. Loved it!!

~~~
Trope(s): Contemporary. Romance. Coworkers. Forced proximity. Friends-with-benefits.
Trigger Warnings: Some angst. Mentions of death. Cheating (not by MCs).
This is an entertaining and engaging storyline that has steam, miscommunication, meddling family, and high-powered occupations. Both MCs are successful business persons, great at their jobs, and have past and present issues to overcome. They make a darling pair, decide to have a no-strings relationship, but that attempt crashes and burns as it morphs into something more. There are some bumps to navigate before their HEA. I loved this book. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
3.5 out of 5*s
This book was pretty cute & just a tad bit spicy. I enjoyed the characters but felt like they were very surface level & it would have been nicer to get to know them on a deeper level. I also felt like there was so much business talk in this book & some of it was a little redundant. It wasn't really a boring read but I could definitely feel myself spacing out while reading it sometimes.
Oh my
Another good book, so far I am loving this series. It would be so awesome to find a guy like Dylan to want you as much as he wants Taylor. It is definitely a dream. I love this story, it is sad that there are people out in the world that would take advantage of rich girls instead of working hard themselves. Brody was such a con artist it is sad. Thank you.
Great read.
Loved this story. From the heartbreak of a cheating boyfriend to the stress of her father wanting to review all her work, Taylor is not having a good couple of days. Then the hot guy she made a pass night, is the consultant reviewing her work! The only thing that could make things worse was if they were insanely attracted to each other. Oh dear!!
Awesome
Loved Taylor and Dylan's love story. Unexpected meeting led to sparks flying. Dislike to true love.
Family being important good on both sides. Both had issues which got resolved. They were always honest with each other. They truly enjoyed each others company.
Khardine truly enjoy your stories. Look forward to your next adventures.
Die eerste ontmoeting is er een met humor.
Uiteraard kan Taylor hem daarna niet uitstaan, helemaal niet waar hij voor staat in haar leven. Dylan maakt het door zijn gedrag niet veel beter.
Maar de chemie blijft ervan afspatten, tot ze er niet meer omheen kunnen. Maar hoe verder?
Lekker weglezende new adult.
Afternoon delight
Refreshing take of an office romance.The main characters were like for & ice towards one another. As you delve deeper into the book the ice melt & their is a fire that is burning hot.
I love an enemies to lovers plot but for this one, the enemies went away too quickly and they were soon jumping into bed with each other. Pacing seemed fast and I could not see the emotional bond between them, could only see it as lust, not love. An alright read to pass the time.
