Sleeper Agents takes us to and beyond the other end of the First Doctor’s era, with Ben and Polly returning to London on the day that they left. This time the narrator is Anneke Wills, the only one of the four to have actually been on TV Who, reprising her role as Polly. Again we have Mr Harman and Miss Leaman, and a good role for Polly’s pet cat, and a mysterious Arctic Island; but it’s a bit of a middle story in the arc, with the ending leaving some plot strands to be resolved.

Ben and Polly return home after traveling in the TARDIS.
This is a well told story by Paul Magrs and narrated by Anneke Wills. It zips along well, and touches upon the reality of leaving the TARDIS and Doctor.
Despite enjoying the story, there wasn't much 'bite', it felt a bit lightweight. But Anneke Wills narrated it brilliantly. 7/10 as it does zip along.

The mystery of Penumbra continues, this time focused on Ben and Polly. The worldbuilding is great with vivid descriptions, but the narrative feels too similar to the preceeding story, "London, 1965" to be anything fresh or exciting. Even if the ending was clearly not all it seemed, it still felt a bit rushed after all the set-up and worldbuilding of the volcano base to just suddenly be pulled from it.

That’s it. That’s the review. This is a Doctor Who story with CATS 😻 and it gets an extra star for that alone.
I also like these companions, so although I would have liked more… I don’t know… closure? regarding how companions adjust to life post-Doctor, I enjoyed this audiobook.
