Brief Intermission

Rate this book
While everyone was worried about the latest spreading virus, very few took into consideration the aftereffects of it. How thousands, and in some areas, millions of people would adjust after months of quarantine. For Sasha and Jace, the virus wasn’t the worst thing to happen – it was the crime, riots, and lockdown that followed.

For two weeks straight, this duo of old lovers will be trapped together as the Mayor of their city tries to come up with an action plan to regain order. In their own world, they try to regain order as well – of their hearts and love for each other.

Sasha swears they will never be together again while Jace is convinced fate is the reason they are stuck together… and their time apart was only a brief intermission.

I'm not understanding why everyone is saying Jace messed up. Jace was in an impossible situation and did what he had to do. The man got evicted from his apartment and, instead of moving in with his girlfriend, he broke up with her until he could get back on his feet financially. I don't see the problem. I get Sasha was heartbroken but, you have to respect a man who doesn't want to depend on his girlfriend financially. It really pissed me off when she kept saying she couldn't trust him with her heart. Ummmm, why not?!!! It's not like Jace cheated on her. Adulting is hard in your 20's and Jace had to make some adult decisions regardless of how painful those decisions hurt both of them. But, fate was truly on their side because, she did not want Sasha with Evan. Between the lock down and catching him with his ex, she made sure Sasha got back with Jace. He told Sasha he was comin' for that azz and he meant that. Any man that can win your heart back with love letters is a keeper. Sasha and Jace were flawed and imperfect but, they definitely belonged together. Brief Intermission was the perfect black romance read. It gives you all the black love feels.

This was a cute little novella. A super quick read at 74 pages. It’s definitely relatable as I feel like this story happened to a lot of people at the beginning of the pandemic!

I loved the love letters element. I personally do that when I have stuff I really need to say uninterrupted so that was appealing to me. The fit of the two different rings was an interesting way to highlight Jace and Sasha’s love. Everything at the hospital was cute. It’s just a sweet short story. Not super angsty, not dramatic, quick and to the point but still enjoyable!

This?

All I can say is, well done. I mean I haven't read a romance with one person's perspective in a very long time, but I must say nothing was lacking in the story telling. I completely understood Jace, a love like the one shared by him and Sasha is rare and should be held on to. I agree that they needs the break to get a clear vision of what they truly wanted from each other. If ever fate played a role in people's lives this is definitely the instance. Well done Ms.Love, you made two characters and 5 years of history thoroughly fleshed out in a short story a true testament to your skill as an author. I recommend this book.

5/5 stars!

This is a short and sweet read for me. Jace and Sasha's second chance romance is my favorite kind of second chance in books! I enjoyed it. The characters felt like real people to me. There's lockdown situation going on here and I guess that really is the new close proximity trope setting today. Nonetheless, still a 5-star read!

I liked it. Sasha and Jace were meant for each other. I loved Jace's letters and their responses to one another. I'm glad Evan's shadiness was revealed and Sasha dropped him. Very mushy but a cute story in the middle of this Coronavirus nightmare.

I loved this story and its imperfect characters. Jace effed up and had to own that that by him doing so, he left Sasha vulnerable to the opportunity of another. Sasha should've stayed single and focused on her business, but again I get it she was vulnerable.

Aww I love this book. It was so touching. B, you can write words lady. Jace and Sasha’s love was so deep. They truly were made for each other. It took strength for Jace to wait and for Sasha to give him a second chance. It was beautiful. Great job👍🏾👍🏾

All love!

This was so sweet, those letters were everything, had me crying. I was scared for a minute because she seem so steady in her letter to him to give Evan a chance. Loved both of them. This was a great break!

Brief Intermission

Going to end a friendship to save a relationship bought Sasha two weeks of lockdown with her ex Jace. Evan had all the audacity in the world but fate let it be known how he spent his time apart from his fiancee.

Oh how you have a love hate relationships with brief intermissions. This book was definitely meant for those who feel as if they had a love lost and in reality the love just needed a break to grow further in it's destiny. Loved reading how this couple came back as one♥️

Yes, Jace and Sasha had a short intermission. Evan was never meant to be her one. Ladies, learn to Trust a man's actions not his Words... Talk is Real Cheap.
