The action felt ramped up in this volume compared to the previous one! I'm still not feeling that invested in the Kamomedai team overall, but seeing some of Hirugami's backstory was interesting. In a series that's ALL about volleyball, it's kind of refreshing when not every character is obsessed with the sport. 😆
Asahi got a chance to shine, too!
Favorite moments:
-The silent thumbs-up.
-Hinata jumping higher than ever!
-That tiny interaction between Tsukki and his brother. (Aww! I still want to smile just thinking about it. 😊)

Tsukishima, you clever little bastard. I was worried for a moment that Karasuno would lose this set.
I relate to Azumane on a spiritual level, and I’m glad he’s becoming more confident in himself and his abilities, I need to take a page from his book there.

"One point. I think we can get that."
This was an absolutely fantastic volume! Just when I think the series can't get any better, it blows me away!
I actually wiped away tears when reading this one though. I've noticed this last half of the year that whenever I'm reading a manga about depression no matter how big or small the focus is, I get super emotional about it. Hearing Asahi share and open up about how he spirals into depression really knocked at my heart. I related so much to his words and seeing him overcome such a hard internal battle ripped open my heart. SO MOVING!
That last half/quarter portion was sooooo goooooooddddd too! Seeing Hinata try new things even FASTER then he already is definitely left me on the edge of my seat! It's amazing to see who he was at the beginning compared to who he is now.
And WHOAAAAA to that ending with Tsukki! Talk about getting the last laugh!
Truly, that last half really got me excited and my heart-racing!!
Some of my favorite small parts were Kenma saying Asahi has activated the "ultimate skill," Hoshiumi looking for praise but no one giving it (the expressions were hilarious!), Kageyama faithfully telling Tanaka "good bump" even if the commentators talk about how messy the bump/pass was, Hinata getting the attention of at least one blocker, and Kenma's dream (LOL!!!!)
I know I've probably said it a lot, but I think this volume is going to be a very memorable one for me because of Asahi and already look forward to reading this volume again some day. <3

READ FOR: best character developments and themes that I have ever encountered
READING LEVEL: Level 1-3 out of 5
*All of my reviews are as spoiler-free as possible unless stated otherwise*
I don’t think I’ll ever have enough words to express how much I love this manga and anime series but I’ll try anyway. But I just need to make it known that this has changed my view in anime and manga forever. I caught up with this manga in the last 30 or so chapters but I won’t say much to avoid spoilers... but it was crazy.
It made me laugh, cry, fall in love, think, and honestly... what else do you need in a series? I can keep going on and on about this series but honestly I think you should just read it for yourself. I really don't think you'll regret it.
When someone asks me what the plot is, honestly, all I can say is “they play volleyball” HAHAHA… but it’s so much more than that.
PLOT: ★★★★★
The plot was so well thought of from the very beginning and when I re-read the manga I can’t believe the amount of foreshadowing Furudate actually placed. My mind was so blown… I just. No words. I am seriously in love.
ART STYLE: ★★★★★
The art style… *chef’s kiss* especially in the later arcs. There were so many matches but even then Furudate never failed to leave me breathless at each one.
CHARACTERS: ★★★★★
The character development here is THE BEST. HANDS DOWN. that I have ever come across. I fell in love with the so many characters in this series that I did not even think that was possible.
The character relationships... the character dynamics... their mindsets... they are all so perfectly well done and realistic GAHHHH I've said this so many time throughout this review BUT THEY JUST MADE ME FALL IN LOVE SO EASILY. I can't pick my favourite one but hinata and kageyama just hold a special place in my heart.

Honestly I basically thought the themes were just gonna be “teamwork” and “friendship”… while it is all that, Furudate sensei was able to make it even deeper. And the symbolisms? You are not ready.
I think the one that was focused on the most was “It’s not always about winning, it’s about growth”. But there were also so many smaller things that lead up to that bigger point: (1) we get our strength from others, (2) but you also need to make yourself dependable, (3) there is always room for improvement, (4) working hard is good but overworking yourself isn’t, (5) you are built on the small things you do everyday, (6) an ace's back should be an inspiration to your teammates (hi bokuto), (7)+++
The way I wrote it was very straight to the point but I was amazed at how Furudate tackled the so many messages that I received from this series.

I don’t think I’ll ever have enough words to express how much I love this manga and anime series but I’ll try anyway. But I just need to make it known that this has changed my view in anime and manga forever. I caught up with this manga in the last 30 or so chapters but I won’t say much to avoid spoilers... but it was crazy.
It made me laugh, cry, fall in love, think, and honestly... what else do you need in a series? I can keep going on and on about this series but honestly I think you should just read it for yourself. I really don't think you'll regret it.
When someone asks me what the plot is, honestly, all I can say is “they play volleyball” HAHAHA… but it’s so much more than that.
PLOT: ★★★★★
The plot was so well thought of from the very beginning and when I re-read the manga I can’t believe the amount of foreshadowing Furudate actually placed. My mind was so blown… I just. No words. I am seriously in love.
ART STYLE: ★★★★★
The art style… *chef’s kiss* especially in the later arcs. There were so many matches but even then Furudate never failed to leave me breathless at each one.
CHARACTERS: ★★★★★
The character development here is THE BEST. HANDS DOWN. that I have ever come across. I fell in love with the so many characters in this series that I did not even think that was possible.
The character relationships... the character dynamics... their mindsets... they are all so perfectly well done and realistic GAHHHH I've said this so many time throughout this review BUT THEY JUST MADE ME FALL IN LOVE SO EASILY. I can't pick my favourite one but hinata and kageyama just hold a special place in my heart.

Asahi character development FTW!!!!!!
Seriously, words cannot express how happy I am that we FINALLY get to see Asahi receive some character development and finally come to terms with his fears. And I love how Nishinoya's the one who has stood by him and cheered him up the most, they have such a sweet and supportive friendship. But for reals, his dink was fucking amazing and hilarious at the same time. Everyone (including myself) thinks he's gonna smash it, and instead he just kinda boops it over the net. Loved it, loved every second of it.
Tsukki's feint at the end of the volume was also fantastic, talk about a character that has grown throughout the series. And that face he makes at the other team when they score-damn, his smirk's probably going to haunt them for the rest of their lives lol.
I'm bummed that I'm caught up with the volumes now, since that means I actually have to start WAITING for the volumes to be released in the US. *sigh* but I'll carry on anyway, because I love this series so much and nothing will keep me from it.

Continua la partita tra Karasuno e Kamomedai, una sfida che mette molto in difficoltà i nostri protagonisti. In particolare, come si evince dalla stupenda copertina, Asahi nelle vesti di asso della squadra viene preso di mira: il muro gli sta dietro e diventa difficile per lui superarlo e fare punto. E a guidare questo muro dall'altra parte della rete abbiamo Hirugami, l'inamovibile che però è un personaggio che nasconde molto più di quello che sembra dal suo impassibile e freddo viso. Mi piace molto questo personaggio, mi ha conquistato pian piano nel corso dei capitoli in cui compare lui e la sua squadra e lancia un bel messaggio, di accettare le proprie debolezze e i propri limiti e di saper anche rinunciare quando non riusciamo più. Insomma si diversificano i modi di giocare ed amare la pallavolo e si lasciano aperte molte porte per ulteriori sviluppi di questa partita e dei personaggi coinvolti che comunque vengono approfonditi in vario modo e sotto diversi aspetti, sempre in maniera stupenda.

THIS WAS AMAZING
After volume 39 i was very reluctant to pick this up and continue but HOLY SHIT WHAT A SET. It's was very intense and i loved the inner dialogues/flashbacks which touch on heavy mental health topics.
ALSO TSUKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII - added to the shrine, after the setters I'm collecting the MBs
