Mazus is the frightening finale to the terrific Mrs. Fields' Journal trilogy by Charles Campbell. The story hits the ground running and does not let up until the end. Mazus (the demon) is a force to be reckoned with as he seeks the ultimate revenge on Reggie and everyone he loves (and has loved). The body count rises as the story hurtles towards its climax. Thankfully, Reggie doesn't have to fight this battle alone. Campbell writes these characters and their interactions with each other in such believable way. As I've stated in reviews of the two previous entries in this series, the cast is relatable and grounded in reality even as the supernatural is happening all around them. You naturally want to pull for them in their effort to put an end to Mazus and his horrible deeds. If you've read the first two books, you owe it to yourself to find out how it all ends. And if you haven't read the first two, what are you waiting for? Pick up all three and enjoy the ride!
(Note: This says I read the Kindle version, Actually, I read the amazing hardcover with a creepy cover by Kervin Lacson.)

This is a great ending to the trilogy. I had to stop reading several times because I got nervous and needed to take a slight breather. I'm sure if I'd had my Fitbit on I would have seen that my heart rate was elevated. The introduction of new characters was seamless. I have truly been invested in the people and story and I was not disappointed. Also, I am local to the author and to be able to recognize the places he talks about made the story that much better for me. If you've read the Mrs. Fields Journal and The Locket you will not be disappointed. If you haven't read them, what are you waiting for?!

Ah...Mazus...you always deliver

A most excellent end to the Mrs.Fields trilogy. A page-turner extraordinaire. If you seek a creepy romp through a thrilling world of mayhem, this set is the real deal. Not wanting to be a spoiler, I will just say the characters come alive beneath the pen of Charles Campbell and you hope it all goes well...for a change, but twists and turns leave you edgy and staying late in the night to find out what happens...Kudos Charles and sad to see it end...but loved it!

Charles has done a phenomenal job with the ending to this trilogy. The ending was beautiful but bittersweet. This trilogy is one that grasps your heart to each of its characters. Tonya being the heroine in this book will forever hold a special place in my heart. The ending was much like one of the last parts of the book, "a last kiss of honeysuckle and love."
