This was a very intriguing tale filled with murder, sex, love and lust.
Silly me didn’t realize this was the third book in a series until I had already downloaded it but I decided to give it a chance anyway and I’m so glad I did!
Surprisingly, this worked great as a stand-alone, and the author filled the reader in on past events that were important to the story line.
I loved the way this was written with a few fourth wall breaks and humor intermixed with the darker topics. The characters were all wonderfully developed as well and I found myself caring for everyone - even the more evil of them.
I highly recommend this author to any fans of murder mysteries with a twist. This is an author to watch!

The Adulterer's Dilemma is a psychological thriller involving a serial killer. This is the third book in the Adulterer series and it takes us on another adventure with Lee and Jo.

Lee's girlfriend, Jo is pregnant with their baby and he wants to start over with a clean slate. He decides to join the church to receive forgiveness and intends to turn himself in to the police for his past crimes. Lee wants to become a better person and a father that his baby will love but Jo insists that he remains silent to avoid a lengthy prison sentence. What does he decide to do in the end?

The book is written in the third person with multiple point of views. There is an interesting mix of characters from all walks of life. Occasionally, the author's commentary pops up in the narrative which may throw the reader off. However, this adds a touch of humour that we could all do with, given the story is about a serial killer's mission.

The chat room conversations in the book work quite well and they greatly enhance the plot.

Based on the early clues, readers may be able to guess the identity of the serial killer and suspicions are confirmed at the end, although there is a slight cliff-hanger. The book still draws readers in to find out what happens next, chapter after chapter.

Amongst the plethora of sexual content described in this book, it is surprising that the main characters then shift into having intelligent conversations surrounding religion.

Despite the wildly evil acts of the perpetrator in this story, it is definitely a fun read and a book you won't be able to put down.

The Adulterer’s Dilemma

Ingeniously, Sam Anthony has blended a serial killer thriller with ribald humor. If not a new genre, certainly a refreshing take on a frequently stale storyline. Drawn in by the whodunit mystery, I was titillated by the bawdy characters and launched into many laugh-out-loud moments. I will begin following this author. Highly recommended.

The saga continues with the heavy conscience of a guilty adulterer/ murderer. Honestly, I bored of him trying to come to terms with his emotions. At least he made a few fun friends in a serial killer chat room. ( Sidenote... I'm gonna look in to that and try to find one). Anyways, the first 2 books were way better, but when I'm this deep in a series, I kinda feel the need to follow along with the story. One thing that really bugged me was how the author decided to 'talk' at the reader. I don't recall this in the first two books, so it seemed very out of place in this one. For example, the author would write something along the lines of 'a reader who was paying attention would already know this'. I'm totally paraphrasing, and I think I highlighted a few of these callouts from the author calling out different types of readers, but it annoyed me. It pulled me out of the story..not cool. Now I have to decide if I'll read book 4. Normally, this deep into a series I stick with it. I'm not too sure about this series.

Holy crap in a handbasket!!

Talk about intense. Lee and Jo are hiding out in England, running a pub under fake names. After Lee sees his kids he feels guilty and wants to turn himself in. Jo of course fights him on this but he hires an assistant manager for the pub in preparation to do just that. Frankie is a highly attractive redhead who seems to have a thing for Lee, going so far as to kiss him under the misletoe. Meanwhile, Lee is in a serial killer chat room, talking with someone who is actively commiting murders of teenage girls. This book literally had me rolling with laughter and the twist at the end? Look, i didnt figure out who the other killer was until almost when Lee did. Maybe a chapter before him. It was awesome!

In for a Penny.............
Very mixed feelings about this one. Sam Anthony leads the reader through a plethora of characters, religious musings and ultimately a different direction of where I thought this series was heading. So I am on the fence, I did guess, correctly of course but the ending, oh my. I am sincerely hoping the wait isn't too long, I am not big on patience, especially in this case.

Must keep reading …

Something about these books makes me want to keep reading them. As much as Lee creeps me out, as much I read some chapters and feel dirty, I have to keep reading!

Book two has been been my favourite so far but this was another very enjoyable one. I adore Jo, definitely my favourite character and such a good match for Lee.

This was one was darker, yet with the authors familiar style - a group of characters with many failings who are bodging their way through life - I was happy to see DI Khan again! - and thinking more with their groins than their brains often!

I’ll be into book four soon!

First time reading this author after a recommendation and was not disappointed. Clever way of writing and kept me guessing most the way thru the book.
Enjoyed it very much due to the way it was written.

Ahem

How did we get here? We went from adulterers to serial killers and I like it. I enjoy books that have love/sex, humor, and action in them. This book encompasses all of that. It boggles the mind that a book primarily about serial killers can be dang funny, hilarious even. Now I have to wait until next month to continue the series. Argh!

This was by far the best book in the series. The author kept us guessing who the Alphabet Killer was. Kept us guessing what was going to happen to Lee. Just started reading next book. It keeps getting interesting.

The third book in the series franchise lives up to the hype generated by the first book and makes up for the disappointment which was the second book. Author Sam seems to be a fan of Agatha Christie, as he has referenced the ABC murders, which coincidentally was also my first read of hers. In the current book, we are introduced to a whole new array of colourful characters with personalities and faults of their own.Although side characters, they are pivotal to the plot. The third book will keep you second guessing, right till the end about the identity of the murderer on the prowl. This book is less about explicit sex scenes and more into the mind of a serial murderer/ possible rapist.

Addicting

I could see why this type of mystery murder might be addicting. The author keeps you turning pages to see if the police will ever get a break.

I cannot, and I mean cannot, get enough of this series. Once I start a book it's impossible for me to put down. Sam Anthony is quickly becoming a favorite with this style of writing. Keeps you on your toes, has you laughing, figuring things out.....

BUT! Even though it's pretty obvious at the end of the book who the Alphabet killer is, I don't appreciate the cliffhanger. Rude. Guess I'll have to start the next one now ;)

Start reading this series now!

I was not prepared to be so amused by what is essentially an extended (or perhaps recurring) dirty joke told from multiple points of view. But once I knew that the book reminded me of Terry Pratchett's gleeful insanity I had to finish it in a single sitting, and now I have to share it!

Start reading the "Adulterer" series now, because you don't want to miss any of the fun. You also won't want to have play catchup when the series goes ballistic in a year or two. You really need to be into Sam Anthony before it's cool.

An interesting book; very quirky and not to everyone's taste, I would think.

I enjoyed it, but I can see why some readers are put off by the author's opinions. The erotic sections are near the knuckle for a mainstream novel; these did no offend me.

I had the plot sussed out very early on. I knew exactly who the main killer was. The chat room stuff was funny, but the dilemma of the protagonist was a bit tedious. He's a killer. Which court is going to forgive him and let him off with a small sentence if he confesses and asks for redemption? Fantasy stuff...

Well done to the author, but I would imagine the other books in the series are pretty much the same. I won't be troubling them...

Another well-written novel! Even though there was a lot of head hopping, it WORKED for this story.

I liked the continued saga of Lee and his family, but I didn't enjoy reading Book 3 nearly as much as the first two. There was a pretentious overindulgence where the author frequently broke the 4th wall and revealed himself, which added a level of amusement to the novel, but took me out of the story every time.

The characters were all well fleshed out and believable, and the story was well constructed for the most part. The twist at the end wasn't a huge surprise, but it was well done. The ending seemed rushed. I like that the author left it up to the reader to decide for themselves whether the character(s) survived or not.

All in all, I was glad to read Book 3 and find out what happened to Lee and his family after Book 2. And I'll read anything Sam Anthony writes!

Unusual mystery

This book was really strange. I don't care much for British dialect though. The serial killers forum was kind of interesting. The best part of the whole book was the twist at the end.

Still going strong!!

Just when I think it might be time to put this series down, there's another twist! I picked up on the twist in this book more than I did the first two books. I'm loving how different each book is, but how they all mesh together!

What a great “final” book - or is it? Definitely left us hanging ... I’d like to read the next one!??

Another total about turn in writing style but again hugely successful in my opinion.
3rd person this time. This always works but I really like how each book was different in that respect.
More clearly crime writing this time. A good killing storyline with some pretty disturbing scene descriptions along the way. Very well done, there is no denying that our new villain is seriously screwed up!

The ongoing saga of Lee’s life is still compelling, he is still lovable despite the terrible choices he has made - now with pregnant Jo he battles with his desire to do the right thing and confess.
I loved the Tommo and Pritch characters, very entertaining and endearing dialogues and friendship there.

This was my favourite of the 3 books, but gotta say I really enjoyed the whole series.
A compelling well written page turner - again. Precisely what I am after when I read.

Sadly lacking

What could have been an interesting (if somewhat pompous) tale descends quickly into an overbearing treatise of anti-Christianity. At some point the author decided to give an unwarranted and unnecessary lecture on why (in the author's mind) there is no God, and in making that detour, doomed the novel.
