Her Dirty Secret was heavy on the unrealistic storyline but, it was still an entertaining read. Poor Joella. She was the queen of poor choices. Her marriage is in a terrible place because Andre, who is a surgeon, doesn't spend any quality time with Joella. Then, to add insult to injury, she catches him cheating the night of their anniversary. Andre also refuses to support and fund Joells's dream of opening a non-profit organization because, he would prefer for her to be a stay at home trophy wife. Deciding to give Andre a taste of his own medicine, Joella not only starts having an affair with her FIL but, they also start a Fans Only account. Whew chile! The audacity, the disrespect, and the foolery! When Andre realizes Joella has emotionally checked out of their marriage and is serious about divorcing him this time, he steps up and starts showing her he wants to save their marriage and be a better husband. Blaine ain't tryin' to let Joella and Andre have their HEA so, he starts blackmailing her when she ends their affair. Little do either of them know, Andre is well aware of their dirty little secret (pun intended) and their Fans Only account which leads to one hell of a climatic ending. We'll just say Blaine got exactly what TF he deserved and leave it at that. Her Dirty Secret gets a A for the over the top dramatics. Honey, these characters were doing the most and I was here for it. I love that the author didn't rush Joella and Andre's reconciliation. It took a year and some very intense therapy for Joella and Andre to get back to a place where he could finally forgive her. He recognized that, while sleeping with his father was a shyty thing to do, he played a large role in Joella's actions by not being supportive and cheating first. Her Dirty Secret was a twisted tale about infidelity, duplicity, betrayal, and forgiveness. These characters took me through it but, I enjoyed every bit of the ride. This was my first book by Endiya Carter and it did not disappoint.

There are few I trust when it comes to book recommendations but when Annette says “read this book”, I blindly read. Her recommendations do 👏🏽not👏🏽disappoint!! But sis we need to chat because 🗣️WTF DID YOU HAVE ME READING?!?!?!!!!!
The level of mess that was in these pages was INSANE!!!! And I only have one word to describe how I feel, MORE!!!! I wanted more 🤣🤣 more mess, more lies, more secrets!!

Stunned...😳😳 all I'm going to say is Andre is better than me because ain't no fking way. This secret is one I would not have been able to overcome.

This book is just as short as it is messy! And I mean MESSY! At every reveal I was like IKYFL. It’s definitely good though. It’s a quick, entertaining read.

This short novella is definitely going to blow your mind. A business transaction between Joelle and Blaine, her father in law, turns deadly.
What happens when you find out your father wants everything you touch??👀… yall this was sooo good go add it to ur TBR.
This was perfect 🤩 I wasn’t not expecting this at all and I definitely wasn’t ready for the end. I was almost 1000% sure she was gone meet the same fate as his dad 🤦🏾♀️. I loved that he eventually forgave her I supposed and I hope they work it out. But it was definitely shocking and I loved it truly.

What a dirty secret!🔥Oh My God! I’m just at a loss for words. Okay, Joella and Andre are a married couple... their marriage has been pretty shaky and they both lack communication. Andre works so much and has had his own issues with infidelity AND he did not support Joella’s dreams.. now, my issue with Joella is there’s just some things you don’t do! I love when a book can get me all fired up and upset about things because Joella and Andre took me there.🤣 in this short novella I was taken on an emotional journey that had me questioning my morals.. smh.

What did I just read?
This novella packed a whole lot of story in a minimal amount of pages! My first read from this author, and it was unlike anything I've read before! From the first page, I had to keep going to see how it played out! Mind blown!!!

What a crazy ride! Whew! Andre and Joella definitely went through it as a couple and Blaine, Andrew's father was a hot mess. I wanted to understand why Blaine did what he did. It was beyond reprehensible. Even though things turned favorably in the end, you pray that they both learned their lesson , heal, and truly love each other. If you are looking for sex scenes done right, Endiya is that writer.

Like I have no other words for this book…Andre was a good man even though he had his faults sleeping with your father-in-law is major no no and for him to stay with Joella was a major big thing. Blaine got exactly what he deserved for all he put his son thru, he set Joella to get caught and she fell right for it. This was truly a short and wonderful read!

Joella and Blaine were dead wrong for what they did. I felt sorry for the husband. Sometimes we need to chill and approach opportunities a different way. I was all into this book because I needed to know the outcome. Let’s just say I didn’t expect the outcome to be so juicy.

Talk about a dirty little secret. This short story will have you like ok two people stepping out of their marriages engaging in some steamy sexual affair for the world to see. But the kicker is how truly connected Blaine and Joella really are. The plot definitely thickens with secrets, scandal and heartbreak. Wasn't expecting that revelation from Andre about his past relationships. This is a read that will have your attention from beginning to end.

joella… girl. i get wanting revenge, truly i do — [although I don't support cheating] andre played in her face in the beginning, so i understand the urge to spin the block and get your lick back. but she is NOT a good decision maker because why would you keep the revenge THAT close to home? messing around with your father-in-law is CRAZY. like… ma’am, that is not the type of get back any of us had in mind 😭

I must say Endiya that this was messy! Blaine was something else. What was his beef with his own son we’ll never get to know. Poor Andrew! I initially was like it too late he did this to himself but by the end of the book I still felt he was selfish but he’d been through too much. He could’ve honestly told Joella he knew but what fun is that?! Now, to Joella…man idk what to see. I initially saw a woman who was trying to make her way & she used what was in front of her. I still don’t feel no way about that aspect! I wish she would’ve told her truths as soon as she became back invested in her marriage. She was the one manipulated & honestly by them both. Andrew cause he wanted to hurt her before she hurt him but in the end he still got the biggest hurt. Blaine cause he’s just evil. I loved this quick messy read!

I was not expecting this story to go the way it did. I was alil disappointed in Joella for her tacky decision making although I get why she did it she could’ve chose a different person. As a female we want our significant other to support our dreams and when they don’t we kinda lose interest a bit. Blaine was a sad excuse for a father. Like what kinda dad does this to their son unless he hates him. Andre wasn’t innocent either he definitely could’ve been a better husband and I was rooting for him. When him and Joella started to work more on their marriage it was goood. I loved seeing them in their element. This is a recommended read. It’s short & keeps you engaged.

This story was...different. And crazy. And mind-blowing. But I loved it!!!! Kept me on the edge of my seat! I didn't agree with Joella's actions, but I empathized with her desperation. And given the history, Andre should have disclosed his dad's messiness way before now. But choices are made so all you can do is deal with it. I will say I appreciate showing the reality of there not being a magical fix for a situation like this. Takes time. A lot of time. And work. But I closed this book hopeful for the future. Great job, Ms. Carter!

Super short read. Toxic. Nasty. Dramatic. I was here for all the drama. Fun, short read. Andre was a major eye roll. Some things just can’t be undone though. It was a little predictable but I was definitely on the edge of my seat like how is this going end? But when I got to the end I was like dang why she do that stupid stuff? She didn’t even have the facts.
They should’ve gotten a divorce though.
The chapters didn’t need Joella’s name since the story was only from her POV. It’s also “strolled in” not “scrolled in.”

Spoiler alert 🚨, although it was wrong I have to take my hat off to Joe for not getting dicknotized. I know she kept pushing back her stop time but that was because she liked the money. As soon as her husband got his sh*t together she ended things, it’s just Blain caught feelings. I know kids can be hard headed but that is not the way to teach them lessons, Blain is a horrible father. If this book was longer we might’ve found out that he harbored resentment towards Andrea.

I really didn’t like how at the end he got to drag her along for over a year b/c he couldn’t get over what she’d done when he was the cause and KNOWING that your dad has done it to all of your other girlfriends in the past.. you basically pushed her into that trap. but I do wish I got more from the ending b/c I did like them together lol… am I toxic and messy? Clearly 😂 but oh well

Hard one for me
This was a difficult book for me to read and review. I hate the act of cheating any any relationship, but we are all humans and we all make mistakes, no one is perfect. In saying that, I loved the way this story was written and I couldn't put the book down until I finished and that says a lot for me as I read so many books. I just found this author recently and I like her style of writing. I hope she continues with this career.

Blaine was on some hoe ass shit though so he got what was coming to him. Kinda intense but eh 🤷🏾♀️ Andre…let’s go, young black surgeon in Atlanta but damn, he was on bullshit too. I wasn’t expecting ANY of this so even though it was short as hell, sooo much happened!

Lissen……. My girl took it a little to far to make her dreams come true. Although she was hurt and embarrassed it wasn’t worth the pain she would feel later.
Pops was wrong and I would love to know what his reasons were for treating his son the way he did. Andre went through a lot and his peace wasn’t worth trying to maintain a relationship with his father.
Let me stop before I tell too much. This is a quick great read. Enjoy!

This was a good read! I didn’t see any of this coming. Like what did his father have against him to go that route...every time?! Jo had to have known better...she had to know that he was going to use something against her. I can’t believe her husband knew and stayed. It was definitely his and hers dirty secret.
