PREACHER When it comes to firewalls, no one gets through my defenses. For the past five years, protecting this band of f-ed up brothers has been my mission. But Everly pulls me from my cave and does the one thing no one else ever has... She makes me believe there’s a life outside the world on my screens. Too bad actions have consequences, ones that threaten everything and everyone around me. Including the beautiful tattoo artist who has managed to etch herself onto my heart.
EVERLY The emotional upheaval of the last six months would be enough to break anyone. And I can already feel myself cracking. A tall, sexy, tattooed bad boy is the last thing I need thrown into the mix. All I want is to keep my head down and pour my pain into my art. But Preacher walks into my life and offers me safety in a world where I thought there was none. Until our pasts finally catch up with us…
Preacher and Everly. Fear and loss. Hope and heartbreak. This gamble may be worth the risk.
I adored Preacher and Everly's story, they are a wonderful pair of characters, whose broken pieces fit together to make a beautiful whole. Whilst it might be possible to read the book stand alone, the series really does need reading in order for maximum enjoyment. The first two books are amazing and I highly recommend reading them.
For some reason, and it could totally have been me, the start of this book seemed to drag a little, I felt almost as though the story wasn't going anywhere. It wasn't full of the same action that the previous two books held and I totally appreciate that it did need to be different and carve it's own path. However within a few chapters I was totally hooked and loving every minute of it.
The obvious aspects of the plot turned out to not be obvious at all. The threats and peril came from some very unexpected sources and whilst some trouble was easy to solve, others were not such simple cases. This story will draw you in, both your mind and emotions will be caught up by the clever writing, the finely crafted characters and their complicated love story.
The very mysterious E is up next and I can't wait to continue on this amazing adventure.
I know this book is focused on Preacher and his lady but Cutter just amused me in this book, "he inclines his head backward. “I don't know who the eff I’m yelling at, or I wouldn't be asking the question, would I?” I liked this book, and I did like Preacher, but I was more interested in everything going on around him, than him.
This series is absolutely EXCELLENT! This is Preacher's story and this guy is a wee bit closed off, so of course getting in his head would be wonderful. You can see the struggle within himself and with Everly as well and it turns into a book that you absolutely will want to read!
I'm loving the Inland Seas Series so much! All the characters have pasts that torment them causing them to struggle in the present and possibly believe they have no future, at least in the romance department.
Safe Harbor focuses around James "Preacher" Davis. He's the security and computer nerd for the team who throws everything you thought about computer needs out the window. He's tatted with muscles for miles and his upbringing clashes a bit with his current occupation but this is what makes him so lovable.
Everly walks into his life unexpectedly and they feel that immediate connection of soul mates. Everly also has her tormented past biting at her heels and the present day events are tearing her apart.
Can Preacher be the man to comfort and protect her? I loved their story and Safe Harbor is full of all the action the Island Series is known for. There are so many comical moments between these guys, and I love that they all seem to get caught in the nude and reaching for a pair of pants might just take too much time.
There are two more guys with stories to tell and I look forward to them hitting my kindle.
Preacher is the computer nerd and so closed off. There is so much more to him than I could’ve ever thought. Once you learn the way he grew up it will blow your mind to the man that he is today. Everly is covered in tattoos and running from her past. But comes running when the only man she’s ever loved as a dad calls. Everly has sworn away danger and secrets. This book was amazing. I got sucked in from the beginning. These characters are so perfectly put together. Gwyn knocked this book out of the park.
Preacher and Everly’s story started off by chance! Neither expecting the other and neither was looking for love! One was trying to hide from the demons in the dark while one was paying penance and existing in a life not wanted! When a new threat emerges preacher finds himself doing all he can to keep Everly safe even if that means removing himself from her life!
I enjoyed the journey that these two endured together! Preacher though a hard man was the most kind out of the bunch and a definite fave! This series keeps blowing me away!
I loved Preacher’s story. I actually could relate to his religious background. Everly was running scared, and had to deal with the loss as soon as the book opens. I loved that she connected to him right away. All of our pirates are falling in love. I can’t wait to read the next one.
"Safe Harbor" by Gwyn McNamee takes readers on a turbulent journey of love, redemption, and the high stakes of protecting those we care about. At its heart, this novel is a gripping romance between two complex characters, Preacher and Everly, whose lives intersect in unexpected ways.
Preacher, a dedicated protector hidden behind a fortress of technology, is drawn out of isolation by Everly, a tattoo artist grappling with her own emotional scars. Their initial connection sparks a glimmer of hope amidst their turbulent lives, but soon they find themselves entangled in a web of consequences from their pasts.
McNamee skillfully weaves together themes of fear and loss, contrasting them with moments of hope and heartbreak. Preacher's steadfast dedication to his band of brothers contrasts sharply with Everly's desire for emotional refuge through her art. Their evolving relationship serves as a poignant reminder that healing and love often emerge from unexpected places.
The author's prose is both gritty and tender, capturing the raw emotions of her characters as they navigate through challenges that threaten to unravel their newfound connection. The chemistry between Preacher and Everly is palpable, drawing readers deeper into their journey as they confront their demons and fight for a chance at happiness.
"Safe Harbor" is more than a romance; it's a testament to resilience and the transformative power of love. McNamee delivers a compelling narrative filled with suspense and passion, ensuring that readers will be eagerly turning pages until the very end. For fans of romantic suspense with a touch of darkness and redemption, "Safe Harbor" is a must-read that promises both thrills and heartfelt moments.
Preacher is the one who I consider to be the most "innocent" of the Inland Seas crew. He's hardly out on raids, and much like Elijah aka E, he usually speaks up to allow cooler heads to prevail. He's in charge of keeping the computer/technological side of things running so that he and his men stay safe from surprise threats. A man of contradictions, his moral code provides him with a sort of peace despite the many things he has had to do to survive. He's convinced that he's not ready for love, but when Everly enters his life, he's a goner.
Everly finds it hard to trust any man - and with good reason. But one look at Preacher reassures her in a way words never could. As she says goodbye to one aspect of her past, she's unprepared for the repercussions from Preacher's own past. As she unwittingly becomes a pawn in a game of unknown players, Everly has to decide whether to stay or to go - whether to follow her heart or follow the logic that could keep her safe from the brand of danger Preacher usually courts.
I enjoyed the suspense - as usual. I also enjoyed - as I did in the two previous books - the way War & his team gel. They are all distinct individuals, governed by their own personal codes, yet they all have each others backs. Every. Single. Time. Looking forward to what Elijah's story will bring.
This series is remarkable, so far. I recommend it.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
Everything about this series is amazing. From the solid writing to the connection between the characters, their loyalty, suspense, secrets, and an unbelievable foundation of a backstory that is interwoven throughout all the books it is no wonder that I am devouring these books back to back.
I liked Preacher. Even though he didn't have the same draw to him that Cutter had, there was something about his character that I was drawn to. There was a duality to him with his name and the demons he has. There really is truth to the Devil being at your back. I felt this with him. I also felt Everly and how she needed both sides of him, even if she didn't know to what extent she did. I liked that Jimmy saw that they both needed each other. Everly's backstory was heartbreaking. I enjoyed watching how this all fit together.
This book had a lot more humor in the bantering between the characters. It also had steamier times happen earlier in the book. However, it still worked into the story and didn't dominate it. This author can write some steam. Sweet holy hell...
Looking forward to the next book. I am not sure what I am going to do knowing that there is only one book left after it.
Safe Harbor is the third installment of The Inland Seas series by Gwyn McNamee. It follows Preacher, the hacker of the Pirate group we've know to come to love. He's very different than I expected, but I truly loved this story and the chemistry between him and Everly.
This installment of the story shows more about the second most mysterious guy on the team (this first is totally E). You don't really see or hear much about Preacher in the first two novels, you just always know he's in his room on his computers.
Everly is taking care of things for Jimmy, Preacher's tattoo artist in their small town in Wisconsin. She is unique in many ways and I really liked her and her journey throughout this story!
Anchor Point is next in the interconnected series list from Gwyn McNamee - so onward to Anchor Point!
This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Preacher and Everly’s story. Preacher is the computer and security genius, who rarely ventures out of his cave. Every is a tattoo artist who from the moment her and Preacher meet there is an intense connection between them. Both characters are broken from their pasts, but together they can heal. I loved all the witty banter from the secondary characters which were highly entertaining. This is a well written flawless tale which is action packed, and with suspense, twists, emotion, heartbreak, and is an all round humorous and all-consuming read. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series and highly recommend this talented authors’ work for all.
4 Everly and Preacher need each other to break free from their own heads. They both fight it, and are eventually forced to deal with their feelings, but it’s truly for the best. There’s not a burning inferno, but an acceptance of who each other is that makes this book romantic and there’s no lack of adventure and action. I love Preacher and Everly together, they complete one another. Their story isn’t for the light hearted so pull up your big girl panties and buckle down, because this book will take you for an unexpected ride you won’t soon forget. Modern Pirates, tattoos, alpha, badarse
Safe Harbor is book 3 in Gwyn McNamee's The Inland Seas Series which is about modern day pirates on Lake Michigan. This book gives us the story of Preacher and Everly. Once again Gwyn doesn't disappoint with hot scenes, suspense and surprising twists.
I devoured this series in less then a week and waiting for book 5 to release this week. I can honestly say The Inland Seas series is on my all time top 5 list of favorites!
Preacher is such a solo dude that it is funny as hell when Everly comes on the scene and blows his mind.
The last thing Preacher wants or needs is a distraction, and boy is Everly a distraction! She comes out of no where and causes so much havoc in Preacher's life.
Everly is always looking over her shoulder so when Preacher waltzes into her life, she is amazed at the feelings he stirs in her.
OMG.. Preacher has become my favorite pirate in this series. He is a man who protects what is his. His band of friends and their loves ones to Everly. He is a force when provoked. DON'T POKE THE PREACHER BEAR!! When something comes to harm Everly, he is a thinking with heart and not his head. I can't wait for the next book in this series. Who will your favorite pirate be?
I am glad I stuck with this series because it is actually getting better. I was so disappointed in the first book. I liked Everly and Preacher had some redeeming characteristics. Unlike War and Cutter. I am very hopeful for Elijah and Rion.
Preacher is my man! I loved him and Everly. They have past hurts to get through and some may call them broken, but together, they're whole. Their story is sweet and sexy and I loved having the other characters around too because Cutter had me laughing.
I like that these books don't go for the obvious next. Little bits, maybe, if you're looking for it, you might see it. But I can't wait to see where the next books take me
Oh my gosh!! I love Preacher and Everly they are my favorite couple so far. This series just keeps getting better with every book. Well let’s see what out favorite pirate’s get them selves into next.
Who is the quiet guy behind the keyboard? That is what I have wanted to know since we were introduced to the team. Preachers story was just...perfect! ****** Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kindle unlimited: no Standalone: no ****** Preacher was just awesome! He has a heart of gold, compassion, and a back story that will break your heart. Everly has been through more pain in her life than any person should have to experience! What happens when two broken people come together? Healing, swooning, revenge, and just pure f&king magic!
Preacher and Everly meet unexpected through the meddling of a close friend that’s dying. Tragedy has a way of bringing people together and their tragedy thankfully leads to healing and letting go of the demons that are chasing both the MCs.
Everly has been abused in the worst ways. Young and in love she feel for the worst bad boy. Axle deserved everything he got and more. Preacher hasn’t let a woman into his life since a tragic accident caused him to leave his former life. Can these two let down their walls and give love a chance?
This book builds on the underlying storyline from previous books. It has more twists, turns, and surprises and just when we think our pirates are safe, a new villain comes out of the woodwork.
I loved Preacher’s book the most! I have a soft spot for computer geeks, especially if they are a hot pirate computer geek! Next book is the elusive enigma, Elijah and I can’t wait! This series is amazing and I definitely recommend and will keep reading!
Wow! I have read and loved each installment in this series - Preacher (heart eyes emoji) and Everly just may be my favorite so far.
Each of these heroes on the team has their quirk. Like their ism's that set them apart. Well Preacher's is just wow - sighs - he is tender yet still tough, protective and oh so masculine. Deep down a truer gentleman than any pirate could even try to pretend to be. Thanks to his upbringing, no doubt. His transformation once he meets Everly is everything swoon worthy. They have an instant chemistry. Neither expects the pull they feel. Everly has been through a lot. She doesn't trust her judgement and is leery. Was Jimmy right is bringing these two together, knowing they'd be perfect together? Or will the danger of her past and his present keep them apart?
This perfectly woven storyline really picks up too. The action, especially in the 2nd half is fantastic and unexpected. Plot twists caught me by surprise. Love when that happens. All impeccably written. Paced to perfection. Unfolds beautifully and is completely entertaining from cover to cover. The title - gah - utterly brilliant! Well done, Gwyn! Another amazing read and I am dying for the next one!
Safe Harbor, the 3rd book, shows us into the world of Preacher. The man is not your typical computer nerd. Preacher is a man with secrets and he keeps himself closed off. Everly, a tattoo’d beauty, is only in town for the man who was like a father to her. Everly has had a rough past and is afraid of it catching up with her. Both of these two know that whatever might happen between them is no good. Everly isn’t looking for anything, especially anything similar to her past. Preacher believes Everly to be too good to be brought into his world. The universe has different plans though and things change.
Preacher’s story is different from Warwick and Cutter’s. They are men that don’t have a problem taking care of business. Preacher is a man raised in the catholic religion, it takes threats to someone close to him for him to understand how they do things.
I loved Preacher and Everly’s story!!! I can’t wait for February to get to read E’s story.
Safe Harbor is the third book of the Inland Seas series. All the guys have their own skills. Preacher is the computer nerd of the group. He has built firewalls no one can penetrate. He believes all his defenses are unbreakable until he walks into a tattoo shop and the guy that normally does his tats is gone. He meets Everly. Between the two of them, they have enough secrets they could blow everything apart. Can Preacher protect the men he swore to protect and follow his heart with Everly both? You will have to read the book to find out. This is a great series. If you haven't started reading it, grab Squall Line, the first book of the series today.
