This human woman was my last chance at salvation.

I am a soldier.
I have always been a soldier.
But the Battle of Horus IV had left me broken.
I was unfit to do what I had trained my whole life.

There was only one hope.

To find a mate for Commander Caan of the Alliance.
I set an ad. Ashley answered. She was willing to be a mail order bride.
Pick her up. Transport her. Collect my fee.
It was simple.
I’d be left with enough money to regain my skills and go back into combat.

There was only one problem.

Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with her.
Now it’s a question of choosing my destiny… or my heart.
To do what I was born to do.
Or to follow my heart.

Little did I realize that in transporting Ashley through the cosmos…
I had already found salvation in her love.

Ja'Vel is the part of the Tales From The Athenaverse series within the same world as all other books. It’s a full length romance designed to be read as a quick read. It can be read as a standalone, but it still shares the same universe and situations you’ve found in other books. Each book features the romance of an alpha male alien warrior and a human woman who doesn’t put up with any nonsense. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and HEA guaranteed.

Athena Storm

Athena Storm is the pen name for two authors who fell in love with writing science fiction romance as they fell in love with each other.

She's the Athena. And he's the Storm. Athena hopes that one day it won't be a boyfriend/girlfriend writing duo, but a husband/wife team. But she's not pressuring at all. Not one bit.

Science fiction is the biggest love for the writing duo, and they've been doing the writing for quite some time now, building a universe that readers can get lost and explore in. Filled with big bad alien warriors, sassy human women who give as well as they get, hilarious situations, and enough steam to melt stars!

The duo have created the Athenaverse, where all books in all series are tied together. You can start anywhere but once you do, you'll want to explore them all!

When they get married, they plan to continue writing science fiction romance forever. But again, no pressure on the marrying part. Not at all. (Not like writing Happily Ever After ALL Day won't give you any ideas on its own, right?)

This is a quick read. Ja’Vel puts an and up for a mail order bride for his commander so he can raise money and go back to being a warrior. Ashley agrees and Ja’Vel goes to retrieve her, they meet and sparks fly. What will he choose, war or love? Entertaining read with plenty of steam.

Ja'Vel was a Pi’relli warrior in the Alliance Military until injury forced him to retire. In the hope of paying for upgrades to cure him, he strived to find a mate for Commander Caan of the Alliance to raise the funds for the needed repair. Human Ashley responded to the advert for a mail order bride for Caan and so he starts the journey back to hand her over. However, at some point in the journey, he has fallen in love with her. Suddenly he is faced with a decision - be healed through surgery and upgrades or find salvation through the love between them both. Can he make the right decision?

This is a novella although there is still a start, middle and end. I enjoyed the story and the ending was exactly what I had hoped for although it did feel a bit rushed at the end. Easy to read and understand. Contains a little sexual content at the end of the story. A reasonable introduction to the Athenaverse.

Ja’Vel was a Pi’relli warrior in the Alliance Military who should be in combat. But a plasma beam had hit his pod, forcing a crash and changing his life. Most of the others died in the crash. The serious injuries he sustained – crushed legs and burned skin – were repaired by the doctors. But his targeting systems, interfacing mechanisms, and other implants were beyond repair and will cost substantial resources to fix; and without those, he is not fit for combat duty. He received an honorable discharge and a bonus, but he wants his warrior life back.

The best way to make money seemed to be what by The Intergalactic Mail Order Bride Agency provided, finding brides for wealthy men. He finally got Commander Caan as a client, then began to look for a human bride for him. He only needed to do this once and would have enough money for his implant repairs.

Ja’Vel finds Ashley Verkeef in a frontier colony on the human planet of Luvon. Ashley is looking for a better life than the one she has now. She was an orphan so nobody would miss her. She wants a husband and can use the money they’ll pay her. So she agrees to be a mail order bride. Ja’Vel doesn’t have a luxury vehicle to pick her up, so he lands his old, slow, junky shuttle at Luvon’s spaceport.

At first, Ashley mistakes Ja’Vel for her Commander, who is a big Alzhon warrior, but he explains that he is there to deliver her to the Commander. At first she balks, but he is sincere, promises to take care of her, and he has nice eyes – so she gives him a chance. After all, she gets the top bunk and a very slow 3-week trip through space as they head toward Titanus Vox. By the second day, Ashley had started cleaning the dusty and messy ship, much to Ja’Vel’s dismay. Feeling guilty watching her struggle to move the heavy things, he gets out of bed and helps her.

After the first week, both of them are fighting an attraction for the other. Ashley wants to take a 2-day trip to Syfer to buy jewelry, to which Ja’Vel agrees just so they can get a little distance between them. However, she wants him to go with her, defeating his purpose of some time apart! Nor does he want to be dragged from store to store while she shops. She smiles because shopping was not her real purpose – if she were still on the ship, she would have jumped his bones! Even now, she could be happy staying with him. She admires him and would not mind being with him for the rest of her life. Then his comm beeped and he told her Commander Caan was coming to Syfer the next day on an Alliance Military vessel to claim her, cutting off the final two weeks they would have had together! And when Ashley meets the Commander, he was so busy with his data-pad that he hardly took notice of her. Ja’Vel knew she wanted him to keep her; she begged him with her eyes. But he was committed to returning to the military – wasn’t he? Would he walk away from her? Could he leave his heart behind?

I can’t believe that so much story could be packed into a small book! Two strangers meet, Ashley thinking she needs money for security and happiness; Ja’Vel thinking he has only once choice which is to return to the military. Both get a chance to find real love. Will they take the chance? Or will they walk away and stick to their plans? I loved the characters who were fun together. The story line was simple but so powerful. The author did a really good job on this one! Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Ja’Vel and Ashley. You won’t easily forget them!

A new life for a dedicated soldier!
by sewsummore

Ja'Vel had been a warrior trained to defend but after being injured he was decommissioned, angry that he could only return to that way of life if he could have his implants repaired. In order to raise the funds needed he opened a Intergalactic Mail Order Bride Agency. His first bride had been found and he was on his way to collect Ashley for her new husband to be. When she first met Ja'Vel she thought he was her new mate and was disappointed to learn that he was only there to escort her to her mate. She had been attracted to him immediately and that attraction only increased during their voyage, especially when it was obvious he was attracted to him in return. Does she marry her mail order husband or do they commit to the attraction between them? You will have to read the book to find out. This was an entertaining read that kept me interested from the first page. Ja'Vel had spent his life dedicated to the military, his dedication was to be applauded, I think he deserved a true mate of his own just as Ashley does.

This is a story that involves a Pi'relli warrior, Ja'Vel, that survived the battle from Horus IV. This was the battle that caused our characters from the Maurder Mates to become outlaws. During that conflict Ja'Vel was seriously injured and a lot of his circuitry was damaged. This was a mission for revenge and he needed money to pay for his repair. He was desperate and arranged for a companion for his commanding officer. Ashley was looking to make a match and agreed to his offer. After spending weeks together on his small ship they reach Commander Caan. I like the way their affection for each other just sneaks up on them but neither says anything to the other. However, Ja'Vel leaves Ashley with the Commander. This is a short story and will touch on the chaos and destruction the Coalition caused on Horus IV. You will have to read the book to find out what happens with Ashley's Commander and Ja'Vel's enhancement repair. This is a short, sweet, 👽alien romance💕, and even though it has an ADULT scene, it is not topheavy with erotica, as some books of this genre can be.

Ashley is looking for a husband. She agrees to be a mail order bride so that she can have someone stable to be with her. She believes that being a trophy wife to a military commander is the way to go. The problem is it’s gonna take her three weeks instead of a couple days to get her destination to meet her husband. Ja Vel is the one who created this contract between her and the commander. Delivering her is his mission so he can return back to old life once paid. Funny HEA and love the character’s conversations. Short read.

Ja’Vel is a quick but satisfying entry into the AthenaVerse. As a Pi’relli warrior, Ja’Vel wants only to get back into fighting shape so he can reenlist after being severely injured. To earn the money to pay medical bills he brokers a human bride for one of his former commanders. Ashley became an Intergalactic Mail Order Bride in order to have a better life and to help keep orphans like herself safe on her home planet. The trip to Ashley’s intended takes three weeks and Ashley and Ja’Vel become confused about their futures and their goals. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

This is my first time reading one of Athena Storms books and I must say I quite enjoyed it, I wish it could have been a longer story and in some places it seemed a bit rushed but overall I liked it. Ja’vel and Ashley’s story is about two people finding ways to get what they want out of life by settling but end up coming together and realizing that they want each other and have fallen in love and that nothing else matters anymore.

Sci Fi is not my preferred genre, but the writing duo of Athena Storm has quickly made me a convert, at least for their crazy Althenaverse. Ja'Val is in desperate need to earn money and Ashley needs a husband. He opens a matchmaking service, although he has no experience and she answers the ad and agrees. But who knew they would become attracted to each other. The authors have a great ability to write funny alien rom coms. It is a gift and these books make me laugh out loud. Fast, fun read.

Ja’Vel was severly wounded in a horrific battle and needs money to fix his “emotion” chip. His way of earning it is to find a “mail order bride” for one of his former commanders. He finally finds Ashley, who is looking for a better life and thinks this is the way to go. Problem, they must travel together in his small space craft for 3 week along and end up falling in love. Apparently Ja’Vel’s emotion isn’t broken after, but he almost lets the girl get away before he figures it out. A short story, but a fun read.

This is another sweet short story from the Athenaverse. Ja’Vel needs money to pay for an operation to return him to full operation. Ashley needs money period. They are connected by Ja’Vel offering to find a mail order bride for his commander and she agrees to go with him to meet the commander. Neither one of them expected to fall in love on the way. The first person narration by Ashley adds an element of humor. A short quick read is complete as a standalone in the Athenaverse

This is the story of Ja’Vel who was a warrior his ship had crashed leaving him with injuries he couldn’t afford to get fixed so he got a job in the mail order bride agency it was up to him to pick up a bride for his commander but a long the way he falls in love with her. Ashley is an orphan and she comes from poverty so when she see’s an advertisement for a mail order bride she applies for it but when she meets Ja’Vel she is instantly attracted to him, but what about Ja’Vel’s commander and will he give it all up for love?. Fantastic quick fun read and I highly recommend this book.

Ashley wasn't brought up to be a companion but she was an orphan and signed on to be a mail order bride. Ja'Vel was a warrior who couldn't afford repairing his injuries so he thought he could make money off his old comrades. What is that old saying about tight quarters with a single male and female? Sometimes you can't help falling for each other. Another great read and more insight into the series by Athena Storm.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this as an ARC
Ja'vel thinks he's broken after a horrific battle and needs cash for upgrades. Ashley thinks she needs money to be happy. This quick lighthearted read shows just how wrong they both are. Athena Storm delivers a story of two characters looking for one thing but finding what they truly need. Ms. Storm delivers an alien male that made me drool and a female heroine I could relate to.

An enjoyable & light-hearted quick-read alien romance with a interesting plot & engaging characters with realistic flaws & chemistry.
There is: a injured Pi’relli warrior (Ja’Vel) desperate for funds, a female mail-order bride (Ashley) looking for a better life, a Alzhon commander (Caan) looking for a human female bride, mild twists, some drama, memories, disagreements, strange attractions, indecision, doubts, regrets, determination, declarations, love, happiness & a sweet happy ending.

This was a fun and fast story in the Athenaverse world. Ja'Vel decides to make m0ney from the mail order bride and ends up picking up Ashley. Ashley herself was a great character. Lots of chemistry and some steam with lots of humor. What happens when Ja'Vel has to deliver her you will have to find out on your own. An HEA made this a fun story. Ja'vel was wounded in battle and had to retire because of his injuries. He had a bucket of medals and a cash reward, but what he wanted was to get back to his unit. For that he needed funds to get his enhancements replaced. Solution: Start a mail-order bride service!

Ashley wanted to find someone to love, and Ja'vel's bride service seemed to fit the bill. Now they just need to get to her new mate!

What happens when you put two people in a shuttle for weeks... Come see and enjoy!

Short read

This author really needs to inform her readers of the order in which to read these books because I was about to start Caan's story and had no clue who he was this is why but for being such a short story the instalove was crazy I don't see what made them fall for each other besides her being attracted to him and him to her anyways it was free for KU subscribers that's the only reason I read it if you have to pay Don't do it

This was a quick read that gave an introduction to the 'Athenaverse'. But it was a joy to read. Sometimes it doesn't take two people long to realize they are meant for each other. The author nailed that! A short with a HEA included.

This new story from Athena is as captivating as ever. I love reading her galactic lovestories. The story might be short but to me it was an amazing book and I was sorry when I was at the last page. I could recommend this book to anyone who love lovestories between human and alien.

Mail order bride with a twist. JaVel fall in love with the mail order bride he is delivering to his commander. The story is very short and cute. I felt sorry for Commander Caan, the stranger in the bar was a bit weird and puzzled me, but overall this is a fun short read

I like Ja’vel and Ashley story. It started off with her being iffy because of his transport wasn’t what she believed. Jav’el not being able to be the military person because of his injury is sad. But in the end it works out.
