Tara Pammi can't remember a moment when she wasn't lost in a book, especially a romance which, for a teenager, was much more exciting than mathematics textbook. Before long, she was hiding romance novels within bigger textbooks, smuggling them into the home through her unsuspecting younger cousin’s school bag, and cycling more than a few miles to her favorite library to borrow more.
Through numerous ‘true’ loves :-) and traveling thousands of miles from family and friends, her attachment to books and especially romance novels stayed constant.
One fine day, toiling away as a grad student in a basement lab, Tara started typing the beginning of a story instead of her thesis. But it wasn’t until years later, encouraged by her real life hero, Tara realized what she truly wanted to do was to write.
Tara lives in Texas with her real life hero and her two little girls. When she isn't writing or reading, Tara can be found failing in the kitchen, watching TV or making resolutions to exercise more, or even a little.
Yup ! This was a lot of fun and brought a happy smile to my face. It was a light and sweetly romantic story with a bit of the old Arabian nights fantasy woven into it. There was some angst but it was well done and the chemistry between the MC's was off the charts ! This is about a sheltered heroine called Amira who has been betrothed to Prince Zufar but she feels no love for him and her bullying father hits her when she objects to the way her future has been mapped out for her. I liked Amira a lot; she was a beautiful, warm, loving, lovable and generous heroine:
The story kicks off with intense drama and there is no lull or bland intermissions as it continues. Amira is at the palace where she is staying with her father, as they're both guests at the royal funeral of the late Queen Nawani of Khalia. The H is the bastard son of the dead queen and he appears in front of his half siblings ( one of whom is Amira's fiance Zufar ) to pay his respects and to make them acknowledge him as their half brother. Adir, the H, is the ruling sheikh of the Dawab and Peshani tribes and he's a billionaire in his own right because of his interests in information technology, oil, eco tourism and other business sectors. He's only 31 and he had been abandoned by his late mother because her husband ( the King of Khalia ) hadn't wanted his wife's illegitimate baby to raised in the palace. Adir wasn't ever told the identity of his biological father. His half siblings are cold, bitter and insulting to him when he encounters them for the first time:
“Are you worried that I will want to rule Khalia, Prince Zufar? That I will ask for a slice of your immense fortune? Because if so, then let me tell you, I have no intention of taking anything from you. I have no use for your wealth. All I want is recognition.”
“And you will not have it, not as long as I’m alive. You are nothing but my mother’s dirty secret, a stain on our family.”
The words came at Adir like invisible punches, all the more lethal for the truth in them that he had always tried to fight. He was her dirty secret, banished to the desert without a second thought.
“Watch your words, Prince Zufar. They carry heavy consequences.”
Adir was a sexy, self made billionaire desert sheikh who preferred to live amongst the nomadic tribes that had chosen him as their leader:
The insta-lust was obvious from the moment he met Amira. He wanted her more than he'd wanted any other woman in his life and she was captivated by him:
She sighed. It wasn’t as if he didn’t know.
“I’m attracted to you. I could steal all kinds of romance novels from the library and read about all the feelings that hit a woman when she finds a man attractive, but it’s not even close to what I feel. You could be forgiven for thinking it was all cooked up to sell books, this whole chemistry thing. And yet...it’s new and it’s strange and it’s utterly scary and it’s...”
They end up having mad, passionate sex on that first night and then they part ways because he's not allowed to be at the palace and she's betrothed to his half brother. I didn't see what she had done as cheating because her fiance Zufar didn't care about her and they had never even kissed or spoken to each other about personal stuff. They're reunited 4 months afterwards on the morning of her wedding to Zufar. Adir, who has been celibate since the night with the heroine, turns up to take her away because he couldn't stop thinking about her. However, their joyous reunion is marred by the fact that he also thinks that he's getting revenge on Zufar by stealing his half brother's fiancee. The heroine is already in love with him and she's 4 months pregnant but her pride kicks in because she is fed up of being a man's pawn in the eternal power struggle among men. She has been treated like a pawn by her father and then by Zufar, so she doesn't want Adir to do the same to her.
The H spirits her away to his desert encampment where he makes arrangements for their marriage, because he is determined that his unborn child will not share his stigma of illegitimacy. These 2 were definitely besotted and in love even before they admitted it to each other, but it was the H's obstinate refusal to give in to this love that created so much angst between them. Adir has been so hurt by his past and by the way his late mother's manipulative letters affected him, that he is reluctant to put his happiness in the hands of another human being. There's a lot of communication ( sexual and verbal ) between these MC's and the heroine doesn't shy away from getting him to confront his issues. I found that very commendable because heroines usually tend to just shut up and ignore important conflicts that need to be resolved. This heroine kept trying really hard to make her H communicate with her because she loved him. She was a sheltered but very strong heroine who knew what she wanted from her marriage and tried hard to get it. They eventually discover the identity of Adir's biological father; he's the king of a neighbouring kingdom but since he's already dead, the H is only allowed to have an off page reconciliation with his half brother.
The MC's are parted temporarily, towards the end when Amira gets fed up with Adir's continuing efforts to push her away each time she tries to get him to communicate with her. The heroine runs off but leaves a message letting him know her destination and that she's safe. Of course, like all besotted alpha male H's, he only misses her when she's gone and he rushes after her to fall on his knees and declare everlasting love ! I enjoyed this a lot, especially the parts that were set in the desert while they were living amongst the nomadic tribes. The sexy scenes in the romantic bedouin tents were hot ! The one complaint I have is the lack of an epilogue ! I needed to know the gender of their baby. The unborn baby was a huge part of the storyline and the novel should have had an epilogue where the baby was revealed to be a cute toddler.

3.5 stars. Heroine in this one was great. She was the abused daughter of an ambitious man who groomed her to be married to the King (hero's half brother). She escapes the same night hero shows up at the palace to claim his place in the family and is rejected. They have a fantasy encounter in the garden and heroine falls pregnant.
Hero returns four months later, on the day of her wedding, to rescue her. Heroine discovers that he is the leader of two desert tribes and he is a millionaire in his own right. They negotiate their marriage and fall in love with some hiccups along the way.
The love scenes are very well done and actually advance the characterization of the H/h. I would have given this four stars except the ending felt very open - I guess because this is the first of a series. If you like royalty/sheikh stories and marriage of convenience you'll like this one.
WHAT A HEROINE !!!! God i loved her , definitely not a doormat! i love that she loves her job and so passionate about it , Hero was sexy but a little bit a jerk but that's ok because he is hot 😎 but ....... i wanted an epilogue with their baby 😑 and just like( my friend Carmen) i want to know if it's a boy or a girl!? it's important to me to know 🤔 so excited about Adir 's brothers and sister especially Zufar .
This was so close to being a perfect book for me but the ending just sucked. No epilogue, no closure on his evil mother and father, his newly found half brother, and no baby! He tells her he loves her and we are done! It was a smoking got and steamy romance and I loved both the hero and heroine. There are three stories and I have read two of them. The third comes out in October and the fourth in November and I can't wait! I have to know what happens.
Sheikh's Baby Of Revenge began with family drama. That family drama dominated the story. It overwhelmed the romance. The more I read, the more the family drama became too much. I just wanted to see the hero grow close to the heroine and then profess his love instead I get a hero obsessed with his mother. A mother who abandoned him. And no fucking epilogue...boooo.
Revenge plot with a very believable love between H and h with fast paced and crisp writing. Main characters are well developed. H is not unnecessarily cruel and h is strong capable woman ... with both passionate and sweet moments thrown in ...
Part where h refers to her unborn baby and compliments H on his looks by wishing the baby boy is handsome as his father .... very touching and sweet
Amira for the win! I loved the heroine. She’s strong, rational, quirky, sweet, mature, she’s a nurse, and her strength far surpasses every man in her story. She is what every other HP heroine should strive to be.
The hero Adir is a good man, he’s just a bit twisted because of his mother. He was able to overcome the circumstances of his birth and become a powerhouse in his own right. The guy is impressive.
With histories of emotional, physical and mental abuse, these two came together and helped each other overcome their fears.
A very satisfying read. It kept me up all night because I couldn’t put it down.
Sheikh Adir is determined to get revenge against those that want to keep his heritage a secret and safe from scandal. So, what a better way to do it than seduce his brother’s fiance. However, when he discovers she’s pregnant, Adir knows it’s not going to be easy to win her trust, especially when she discovers his motives for wanting her. Will Adir be able to win Amira’s heart or will she walk away from her chance at happy ever after? Read More
An almost perfect book... until I realised that the author left a lot of unanswered questions! No epilogue? No meeting with the newly discovered half sibling? No resolution about his fickle mother? Perhaps the questions will be answered in the other books in the series.
He seduced her…in her fiance's garden. Her fiance is his half brother who is his rival.
Now he’ll steal her for his heir!

Strangely, it felt like there were two of me reading this book; one was the objective reader and the other was the cranky, jaded, impatient reader that really wasn't in the mood for a romance and all it's typical cliches.
The cranky me rolled her eyes alot and skimmed ahead a little which wasn't good because she missed details. The cranky me got annoyed by bits and pieces and had to put the book down.
The objective me picked up the book and didn't skim ahead. Yes, the book was so much like all the others of it's kind; one night stand leads to prince/sheik/billionaire finding out and making her marry him which annoyed the cranky me. The objective me reminded me that I picked the book out because I like that sort of book. The reality is that I think I'm just burned out on these sorts of books.
The objective me didn't mind the cliches so much and felt that the hero and heroine were better than two dimensional, they were sympathetic and understandable, relate able. I liked the female protagonist (not sure if that's the right word), and liked the male protagonist which is rarer. Too often the male just comes across as an ass. This one didn't.
So, the cranky me might give it 1 1/2 stars, but the objective me is going to give it 3 stars. Maybe even 3 1/2. It wasn't the best book ever but I think it was a bit above average. Also, it might be interesting to read the other books in the Bound to the Desert King series since there are overlapping characters and you get to see the other sides points of view i.e. why they interacted with the book's characters as they did, you get more of the story that way instead of just a hint. They're linked.
So, read it, get it from a library book sale, maybe even add it to your collection if you like this type of story, I think they're above average.
I always pick up these light fluffy reads when I need to cleanse my reading palette or when I am in a reading slump. You can knock them off in about 2 hours and they just hit the spot. I just finished two dystopian novels and I wanted to read something light and fluffy before I got stuck into the third. Thanks Mum for dropping off two books in this series :-)
I usually hate the whole Sheikh thing and it is definitely NOT a story I would seek out, but this one surprisingly worked. The last few books I have read like this have had all these crazy convoluted story lines which could have been solved with a little communication. They are frustrating to the max as they are just so absurd in their efforts to come up with something new (my brother's dog's therapist who was kidnapped at birth is really the long lost princess bla bla bla). This book though went back to basics and was about two characters and their relationship and some communication!
The other thing about this is that it introduced three other siblings (and yes there are four books in the series) - but it worked. I so want to read the other books in the series as I am invested in their story arc. Great marketing plot :-).
By definition, I rarely give these books anymore than 3 stars as I, at best, like them but they are never life changing books that push me over that reading pleasure edge :-P (and unfortunately these days most end up as 1 or 2 stars) - but this one was quite a pleasant surprise. 3 Stars it is :-)
Royal scandal abounds! With the first book in the Bound to the Desert King quartet, Tara Pammi is tasked with the job of laying the groundwork of the royal family we are to become entrenched in, as well as bring us the ousted family member's story. Adir's plight is quick to grab our attention and the fast paced story line keeps it stoked throughout. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next book!
Sheikh Adir Al-Zabah has waited a long time to claim his rightful place in the Khalia royal family, and the blatant rejection he receives when he steps forward has him boiling mad. Who do these people think they are to treat him like he's lower class than them? He'll find a way to get his revenge!
Amira Ghalib is betrothed to Crown Prince Zufar of Khalia, but it's not a happy union, and she's easy to sway with kind words and affection when Adir encounters her outside the palace. He figures what better way to get his revenge than to help himself to the virginal bride to be, but when he returns to offer her a way out of the marriage she's about to enter into, he discovers she's carrying his child. Whisking her away to his desert paradise is easy, but can he convince her to marry for the sake of their heir?
This book was really good as far as romances go. It’s very well written and I was hooked to every word and page. The only thing I have an issue with is how it ended. Maybe it’s because it’s a part of a series, the author might have left things out to be revealed in the following books. However, I found it so unsatisfying how it all ended and I wanted to see more. The female lead’s pregnancy is the main supporting plot of the entire store so I don’t see why it didn’t have an epilogue or an extra chapter to facilitate the end of said pregnancy. Uh! I was really disappointed.
Nonetheless, it was great read and I must say the plot really thickened by the end. The overall mystery surrounding the Adir’s birth father was a real plot twister for me. It’s been a long time since I’ve been shook by a plot twist because I always predict them before the story even gets anywhere. It was nice.

Best part of the book is the heroine who was no pushover, spoke her mind, and actually stayed with the whiny hero.
I love sheikh stories but this hero was just too messed up - I like heroes who have baggage but he just couldn't handle anything til the end of the book.
A lot of 'narrative', too. Balance between dialogue and narrative seemed unbalanced to me.
Not a bad book but it didn't come up to my expectations. Pammi seems to be a 2-star author for me, the other two I've read of hers have the same rating.
Amira has been promised to Zufar since she was born. He would be king, and she his queen. Nothing else was expected of her. Nothing else really allowed. Her one mind saving grace was being allowed to train as a nurse. But the, Adir comes in to her life.
Adir has long known he was the unwanted one. The illegitimate child of Zufar's mother and an unknown father. Upon her death, he could finally claim his place in the family. Only to be turned away. Amira becomes his way to achieve revenge. But Amira turns in to so much more.
Amira was a great heroine. The meet cute with Adjr was so good! Without spoilers, I will just say that once the characters meet you won’t want to put the story down! There were so many sexy and tender moments in this story that I enjoyed. My only caveat was the ending felt a little rushed.
This one star goes to the first two chapters 🔥🔥Whoo! That’s why i thought this would be an OK read. It was not. Buddy was like every other emotionally stunted hero. It got real tiring, real fast.
