Married to the same man for over 25 years, I am a mother to three children and two Miniature Wiener dogs.

After owning a business and experiencing considerable success, my husband and I got caught in the financial crisis and lost everything in 2008; our business, our home, even our car.

At this point, I put my B.A. in Poly Sci to use and took work as a waitress and bartender (Insert irony). Unwilling to give up on a professional life, I simultaneously went back to college and obtained a degree in Energy Management.

And then the energy market dropped off.

And then my dog died.

I can only be grateful for this series of unfortunate events, for, with nothing to lose and completely demoralized, I sat down and began to write the romance novels which had until then, existed only my imagination.
After publishing over twenty novels now, with one having been nominated for RWA’s Distinguished ™RITA Award in 2019, I am happy to tell you that I have finally found my place in life.

His soon to be fiancé however doesn’t make his heart beat faster , give him butterflies in his stomach or make him long to wake up next to her , only one woman does that , her companion Eliza.

How does it turn out ?
That would be telling .

My review :

Can an Earl in need of founds and Lady’s maid in need of work follow their heart...

Mrs Annabelle Anders has such a talent to describe the bottomless despair of the soul when people knows they are not at the right place with the right person at the right moment.
If the prologue was sweet and funny, as soon as the matter of the heart is engaged, it becomes a harrowing plea about impossible love because of society’s rank.
But it is also a magnificent supplication about the power of love and the strength it gives to those willing to surrender to it.
Definitely a must read.

When lust moved to something deeper ...

I confess I am not a fan of insta-lust stories, and here, it is how the main characters began their relationship, instantly drawn to one another.
At time, I wondered why were they so attracted to one another.
But slowly it morphed to a man having lost all hopes and dreams finding light in a woman he was persuaded was not for him.
When she has meet a man who challenge her intelligence and cleverness by also shaking her certitudes.
A sweet read about moving forward in the name of love.
4 stars.

Can they have a future when their relationship is based on a deceit...

It is not often I do read a story with a heroine so determined at being a success in the marriage mart. She was painted as the usual nemesis of the poor awkward wallflower often set as the classic historical romance heroine.
At first I did not like her, not a true dislike but more like wondering what determined her up at being a heroine, she, such a scheming and conceited girl!
So full of herself that she imagines by her simple appearance, everyone will fan themselves over her presence.
So when her very first meeting with the so coveted Duke does not go as she anticipated, she requires to a quite outrageous ploy.

It is certain, she is not the most engaging heroine, which in fact made her more real, she is so imperfect, she is perfect. Like would be a young miss with a country upbringing losing her head in the twirling of the London’s pomp. For once, I read the story of a calculating Miss as everyone of her steps are figured out, and she is no monster just someone whom embraces society’s expectations and wants to do the best with them.
She is even blind to the idea of failure. Yet it is this same self-delusion that gives her the strength to believe she can actually achieve her goal.
The Duke is the classical wounded hero, persuaded he can’t be love for who he is. Why he dismissed Emary as a debutante of no interest, she is one among the plethora of misses seeking for his name.
Which is true, too.
Why I was quite astonished when he fell for her trick without a second thought, and soon became enraptured by her charms. I understand Emary’s plot but the duke to engage in it ...

I would have liked to see them interacting more, to witness when their relationship switched to something other than a husband’s hunt.

Misbehaving Maid by Annabelle Anders
This was such an entertaining read! The characters of Anthony and Eliza were very engaging. Poor Eliza, having to work as a servant and not be able to,give her opinion. Anthony, the Earl of Mapleton, was in an unenviable position, having to marry for money to a woman he had nothing in common with. I enjoyed Anthony’s siblings giving him advice. Eliza and Anthony had an immediate connection but could anything come of it given their situations? This is just the first in this set of stories and I’m looking forward to reading the remainder. A great start!

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders 5 Stars

Eliza Drake is devastated when her Vicar father suddenly dies, her brother has a growing family so Eliza becomes a lady's maid & she's failing miserably, she's onto her fourth job . Anthony Crespin, Earl of Mapleton is failing miserably at wooing Eliza's mistress. Perhaps they can fail together.
An absolutely lovely short story. I love the authors’ novels but she also writes a mean short story. The characters almost leap out of the page at you & I really felt all of their emotions from despair to the joy of choosing a gift. I read this enthralling novella in a sitting & finished it with a satisfied smile on my face & a sigh of contentment

A Gypsy’s Christmas Kiss by Dawn Brower

Fin and Lulia have a history. One that neither one has forgotten. When they meet again they are drawn together. After that chance meeting they share a magical kiss. Along the way they discover that sometimes the one thing a person needs isn’t what they would expect.

Mistletoe, Whisky, and a Rogue by Jane Charles 5 Stars

One gossiping parrot, a few sips of whisky, and mistletoe could seal one’s fate not forgetting three aunts who are nothing if not maddening.
Ethan Copeland is in England for a family wedding but would much rather be back in New Orleans that is until one encounter with Miss Fanella Grant, a lass with a taste for whisky and adventure, could change everything
Another lovely short story which features the Grants, Macgregors & now the Copelands. Well written with strong characters, I loved both Ethan & Fanella especially her feelings after their lock in, in the dungeons.

Silver Bells and Mistletoe by Anna St. Clair

Lady Susan Winslow wants love and a Christmastide wedding. But when her father betroths her to a stranger—she rebels. Lord Grayson Harding signs a secret betrothal to his childhood love, before realizing first, he must woo her. Lady Susan’s brother is being murdered. Will they save her brother but lose a chance at happiness?

Stealing a Rogue’s Kiss by Amanda Mariel

Determined not to grow old alone, Daphne takes fate into her own hands. Marcus made her a promise years ago, and she's ready for him to make good on it. One passionate kiss. How could either of them have guessed where one stolen moment would lead?

Bedded under the Christmastide Moon by Christina McKnight 5 Stars

Brigham Clarke, Viscount Whitmore, has endlessly championed those less fortunate than himself by introducing social reform bills in London all while his wife of five years, Melloria, remains alone in Hertfordshire. When Brigham arrives for the Christmastide holiday, Melloria has only one thing on her mind the seduction of her husband. Heart warming & so very enjoyable, I love the author’s books & haven’t been disappointed with any of her books. There was something so endearing about Brigham, a hero with glasses doesn’t sound sexy but Brigham was very sexy. Melly was a woman with a mission even if she wasn’t sure how to go about it. I read this story of misunderstandings in one session.

A Winter Wish-By Nadine Millard 4.5 Stars

Mariah Bolton the local doctor’s daughter is thrilled to be able to catalogue the library at Greywood Manor prior to the new owner Brandon Haverton arriving. However when a snowstorm traps them in the house, they argue, they bang heads and they drive each other insane.
A well written novella, the chemistry between Brandon & Mariah was sizzling. I also loved their verbal spats. Whilst it was lust at first sight they did come to like each other too. They were just what the doctor ordered to help her escape her mother & for him to find hope

On a Midnight clear by Sandra SooKoo

Christmastide 1814 takes a fateful turn when Major Cecil Stapleton returns from hospital and finds his cottage in the country already occupied by the lover he left behind six years before. As shared memories collide with budding romance, he and Olivia will need to work through painful truths and personal expectations in order to grasp the love they both desperately need.

Miss Pageant’s Christmas proposal by Tabetha Waite 4 Stars

Miss Emary Pageant is a diamond of the first water & she knows it. Donovan Wainwright, Duke of Windwood, is a physically and emotionally battle-scared war hero. After accidentally bumping into him Emary has a rather shocking proposal.
I do like the trope of fake engagement & I read this well written novella in a sitting. My only problem was I disliked Emary I found her to be extremely arrogant & whilst she did redeem herself to some extent I felt she needed a full length book to be able to fully make me like her. I really liked Donovan but felt he’d been deceived. Whilst I did really enjoy the story I would have liked for it to have been longer to fully do it justice.
Nine short stories in one volume each with a Christmas theme. I’ve loved the 5 I’ve read so far, each one has been well written & held me enthralled
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

A wonderful collection of stories by nine fabulous authors sure to warm you up when it's cold outside!

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders
A heartfelt romance that played like a beautiful song. Maybe a few off key notes when Miss Fairchild was around or her mother, but otherwise a song of despair that turns to hope. Drake, Lord Wonderful and Handsome, oops, I meant Lord Mapleton was in somewhat dire straights. Since his father had passed away, his mother would not leave her bed, his sister and brother were his responsiblity. Then two thirds of the structures in the local village had burned to the ground and he needed funds to help rebuild. Coming to the conclusion his next door neighbor Miss Fairchild would fit the bill, he was going to offer for her. But fate, or was it the Christmas spirit moving brought Miss Eliza Drake came into his sphere. She was the lady's maid to his soon to be bethrothed and most unlike a maid, due her intelligence and comments. This was Eliza's fourth position and she needed it to work. Since her father, the victor had passed away, she felt she could not burden her brother.
Wow. I should not have been surprised how much I absolutely adored this story because Annabelle Anders, with her amazing imagination penned it. She always pulls in my heart and leaves me sighing at the end. Of course there are always a few chuckles and characters that just speak to me. I really want to hear the stories of his sister and brother so have my fingers crossed!!!!

Silver Bells and Mistletoe, Anna St Claire
Susan was so distraught. She heard her father and stepmother arguing and found out her father and bethrothed her to someone. How could he do that? She wanted to have a love match like her father and mother but now she did not have a chance! "Be easy daughter. You no longer need a season. A good man has asked for your hand. I approve of him. You will be protected and be able to enjoy life. Trust me." But how could she!
But then her beloved childhood friend Grayson came back into her life. He was now Lord Harding since his older brother had passed away. They had been inseperatable until she was twelve and he had left to go off to school. She was so happy to see him and him her.
But something was going on with her younger brother. He had been sick for a couple of months and they could not find the cause.
I adored this story. I loved Grayson and Susan, plus all of the characters in this story including Noelle, Susan's cat.. A mystery, a small subterfuege as to who Susan was bethrothed and a wonderful ending that brought a smile to my heart!! I always look forward to reading anything this author pens!!

Mistletoe, Whiskey and a Rogue by Jane Charles
The event of the Christmas season was the wedding of Donovan MacGregor and Lady Claresta Copeland, daughter of a duke, to be held at Chatwell Castle. Fanella Grant was bursting to explore the castle from turret to dungeon and her imagination was so fanciful! Her and her family had come to attend the festivities which were lasting for a fortnight. Fanella was just delightful! Full of energy and wanting to explore and learn new things. Well, that got her in a little bit of a pickle when she ventured to the dungeons and was followed by Ethan. It was his cousin marrying the groom and he was visiting from America. Well, let the fun begin! Let's just say the two became locked up together and a pernacious Parrot named Rogue went for help!! What an adventure..
Just adored this story and Jane Charles I can tell had a lot of fun bringing these two together! I could not wait to see what happened and this is a story you do not want to miss!! Loved it!

Stealing a Rogue's Kiss by Amanda Mariel
I listed to this on audible!
I just finished listening to this delightful story and I can only heave a hugh sigh! The narrator took me through the pages picturing the scenes as they unfolded with her wonderful voice.
Lady Daphne was a true wallflower. Three seasons and no potential matches, although she craved love and a family, but feared that will never be. But fate steps in and when she is at a house party, she finds Marcus, her old friend from childhood that she had not seen in a long time. Oh, but he had indeed grown into a handsome man and she could not keep her heart from pounding!
Could he possibly be her future? I loved Daphne and Marcus and my heart smiled as the narrator said The End! Do not miss this romantic story of hope and love when least expected!!

Lady It’s Cold Outside
Maid Under The Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders.
This is a delightful Christmas love story! The story is based on Anthony, the Earl of Mapleton, and the bold maid who can’t seem to control her snorts and eye rolling at Anthony’s over done flowery complements to his spoiled and not so sweet, future intended. He can’t seem to ignore his attraction to this enchantingly intelligent and beautiful servant when his and his family’s future depend on him marrying a Lady with a dowry.
I enjoyed this warm and charming Christmas love story! I recommend it to everyone who loves a romantically fun holiday regency with witty characters and a happily ever after that will leave a smile on your face. Happy Reading♥️

5 Stars * * * * * MAID UNDER THE MISTLETOE, ANNABELLE ANDERS
Anthony Crespin, Earl of Mapleton has turned 30 yrs of age & knows it is time to take a wife & start a family. He is, unofficially, betrothed to his neighbor's daughter but has found himself not in the least attracted to his intended but instead drawn to the lady's companion, Eliza Drake.

Eliza is the daughter of vicar & after her father's death is forced in to the working world of being a servant - she is educated, beautiful & too forward with her opinions for this position but needs the money to survive.

Anthony & Eliza are drawn to each other from their first meeting but issues of an upcoming betrothal, the difference in society's class division are major obstacles facing them.

I really enjoyed the couple in this entertaining story but I wished for a less rushed & more in depth growing of their relationship. I enjoyed the way Ms. Anders' draws you in to the book with the wonderful details she writes & the humor made this sweet book very entertaining. I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.

4 Stars * * * * A WINTER WISH, NADINE MILLARD
This was a fun, romantic holiday book with an endearing couple. Mr. Brandon Haverton comes from a well respected family in the south somewhere & has made himself quite wealthy over the years with investing & starting businesses but he has become a dark, broody, moody, sad man.

Mariah Bolton was the daughter of the only doctor, surgeon & apothecary in the small village in Lancashire she has lived her entire life. Her father was in great demand & her help was being used by him more & she had taken over the apothecary.

Brandon buys an abandon estate & wants to have it ready for Christmas. His representative hires Mariah to catalog the library that was full of old books so Brandon could decide to keep or sell some or all of the books. When these two meet, fireworks explode & not in a good way. He is arrogant, overbearing, crabby, rude & oh so handsome! She is vivacious, noisy, opinionated & oh so beautiful. Their bantering is fun & the journey for his happiness takes a bit of work. This is a "feel good" holiday story & the only negative is I wish it would have been longer so the couple to develop their feelings more.

I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders...

Such a delightful story that takes place at Christmas time when miracles can and do happen:) I thoroughly enjoyed Eliza and Anthony's story and as always, this author knows how to write 'em!!

Eliza, a vicar's daughter, finds herself having to work as a lady's maid and no matter how hard she tries to be a good one, she's always finding herself in trouble. She's in even bigger trouble when she meets Anthony, The Earl of Mapleton, who is there to propose to her mistress! It's instant attraction between them but he really needs to marry a lady with a large dowry while she's just a lady's maid. When everything comes to a head, the magic of Christmas comes along to help them out!!

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Maid Under the Mistletoe: As the daughter of a vicar, Eliza Drake is having a difficult time adjusting to being a lady's maid, but since her father's untimely death she has no other choice. Anthony, the Earl of Mapleton, is having just as much difficulty in his courtship of Eliza's mistress, especially given his attraction to Eliza herself.

I was unsure about watching the hero actively court someone other than the heroine, but there were some lovely grand romantic gestures here and it was a sweet, enjoyable read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Maid Under The Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders
Maid Under the Mistletoe is a wonderful Regency romp. Eliza Drake is the vicar’s daughter turned maid who makes hilarious quips about her employer under her breath. I found myself laughing out loud throughout this story. Anthony Crespin, Earl of Mapleton must wed quickly and is about to propose to Miss Fairchild. But his head is turned by the beautiful and intelligent Eliza Drake - Miss Fairchild’s companion. Why would an Earl even look twice at a simple maid? I loved the story. I couldn’t put it down.

Lady it's Cold Outside is a Christmas themed regency romance anthology consisting of nine short stories from various authors. Anthologies like this are a great way to trial romance authors, and potentially find some that you're interested in reading more from. I appreciated that the stories in this anthology varied in setting so that they don't all follow the typical regency romance template. This also helped in not making the anthology feel too repetitive, especially when each story is, of course, dealing with romance as a primary topic. As with all anthologies, there were high points and low points, but aver totalling my individual ratings this book got an average of 4 stars. My favourite story of the anthology and the only one I gave five-stars is 'Miss Pageant's Christmas Proposal'. This was also the final story which left me feeling especially benevolent towards the book. I read each story in its entirety, which shows that even my lowest-rated story, the two-star 'A Gypsy's Christmas Kiss' which lacked plot, was readable. Overall I would recommend this anthology as a lovely read for the month of December, or when you want to feel a bit Christmassy.

Writing my review for Annabelle Anders book, Maid Under the Mistletoe...

Eliza Drake has a problem. A vicar's daughter fallen on hard times, she's too outspoken to be a servant, but that's exactly where fate landed her. If only she could keep her opinions to herself.

Anthony Crespin, Earl of Mapleton, has decided the time has come to take a wife. Unfortunately, he finds himself drawn to his intended fiancee's companion more than his fiancee herself.

The issues of class distinction, propriety, and love all come together in a wonderful story woven by one of my favorite authors of historical romance. Crisp dialogue, friendly characters, a keen eye for detail, and a finely tuned sense of humor infuse all of her books. Another winning tale from Annabelle Anders!

Dawn Brower, A Gypsy's Christmas Kiss

Somewhat Disappointing Collection of Romance Novellas

I usually enjoy collections of romance novels by different authors. It allows me to explore new authors and novels with little risk on my part, as they usually launch for only 99 cents. I especially enjoy collections of historical novels based around a theme, so I was greatly anticipating this book. In terms of sensuality, the books in this collection range from tame to steamy. I thought this collection was a little more uneven in terms of quality compared to some Christmas collections. I did enjoy some stories, although most of them did leave me somewhat dissatisfied in one shape or form. Let me tell you about a few of the books.

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Anabelle Anders: I really enjoyed this particular book because it is rare that a Regency novel has a maid as the heroine. I felt like the author already predisposed me to like the book in her dedication, where she said that the novel was dedicated to those who have to work during the holidays. Having been a night-shift nurse, I have worked my share of holidays—which don't make the day seem particularly holiday like. The heroine in the story was actually gently bred as a vicar's daughter, but when her father dies unexpectedly at a relatively young age, her brother makes it clear that she would be better off making her own way in the world. But given her upbringing, she is finding it very hard to act as a servant. We see servants so often in Regency romance but usually only just briefly as they demurely serve dinner, clean the house, or serve as chaperones. So I really liked that the book focused on a servant who honestly never should have been one. I loved the first scene where she just couldn't help but react to the hero’s awkward declarations to his possible soon-to-be betrothed. That young woman was just awful. The earl does find himself attracted to the maid but is very nearly on the point of making the maid’s mistress an offer. (Though I must say that he was not too bright in singling her out, as this young woman is vapid and unkind. Seriously, who would want such a woman as a wife, even if you need her money!) I will admit to finding myself very frustrated with a hero as the book wore on because he was just so incredibly stupid about the other woman. He even insulted the poor heroine, offering her carte blanche. I don't like it when a “hero” acts like that.

Stealing a Rogue’s Kiss by Amanda Mariel: I like the light and fluffy concept of this book. At the start of it, one young woman reads another's palm and tells her that if she doesn't get a kiss by Christmas, she will remain forever unwed. The heroine is a shy young girl, but she decides to put herself forward because she truly does not want to remain a spinster. My big problem with this particular book is that it doesn't look like it was professionally edited, and you could tell; this book was published a year ago, so it is not like this is an uncorrected ARC copy. There were several want wrong words (like marrow for morrow) as well as some very awkward sentences. Also, sometimes the author had these historical characters speaking words and phrases that are definitely more modern. I want my historical characters to sound as if they are from their time, or at least what we think of as their time. But they certainly shouldn't use modern words and phrases.

Bedded Under the Christmastide Moon by Christina McKnight: All right, I'll admit it; after having read several rather tame books, I was hoping for something with a little more steam. Given the title of this book, I thought I would get it. I suppose it did come eventually, but what came before it felt like a hot mess to me. We are given very distant backstory for this couple when the book first begins, and then we immediately flash forward five years in time. The way that the main character's thought about each other and their situation just seemed bizarre to me. I couldn't understand how the heroine could have such thoughts as were described on her wedding day and throughout the book. Maybe the author needed to actually show some of what happened before the wedding day. The two main characters actually are distant emotionally and sometimes physically from each other, and it doesn't make any sense why. He goes away to London the day after they marry and only comes back at Christmas for five years while she takes care of her mother? Why? It felt like the book was all sound and fury, signifying nothing. I hate it when drama is drawn out when if two people just talked, things could be resolved instantly. Instead, both of these characters just got caught up in their own heads about what they thought the other person might be thinking. Not quite what I was hoping for.

I received a free copy of this collection, but that did not affect my review

*Will update review as I read each story

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders
5 stars
Starring Eliza Drake and Anthony Crespin, Earl of Mapleton. Forbidden romance between a lady’s maid and a peer.

This was such a fantastic read!! Eliza is a vicar’s daughter who finds herself in service after her father suddenly passes away. She is a little too outspoken to be a lady’s maid. The beginning scene where Eliza (not so quietly) snickers at Anthony’s attempt to woo her employer’s daughter had me in stitches. Anthony is an Earl who has decided to take a wife. He is supposed to be courting Eliza’s mistress, but gets distracted by his surprised attraction for Eliza. Oh my goodness!! I was laughing, and sighing, and awing throughout this novella. I was so giddy for Eliza and Anthony and their road to HEA. They totally made me smile. By the way... I don’t want reveal any SPOILERS, but the exchanging of gifts scene had my heart, y’all!! Freaken made me bawl!!! Such a sweet story. Kissing passionately only, but still toe curling good. Absolutely enjoyed it. Fantastic job, once again, Annabelle Anders. Not a surprise you’re one of my “Keeper shelf” author.

I'm posting my review on "Maid Under the Mistletoe" by Annabelle Anders only at this time. I will come back to this bundle closer to Christmas and add to my review then for the other authors.

When love cares not for station or propriety.

The thing about love is.... it does not care about one's station in life, or what is proper and what is not. It sees the spark of attraction...and rightfulness between two people and plants its seed. Such is the case with this story.

Eliza, a vicar's daughter who has recently lost her father, is living with a brother who can barely provide for his own family. She's forced to seek employment as a lady's maid, her third position in a short few months. Once a vicar's daughter and now a mad, she's struggling to find her place in this world.

Anthony has fallen on tragic times. A fire that spread throughout his town had him using funds he had intended on repairing his own home and putting it toward those more in need. He still had a roof over his head, after all. So he has set his sights on his neighbor's daughter who comes with a large dowry that will allow him the freedom to make the repairs needed setting his income to rights. Except, Miss Fairchild does not impress him. He's bored to tears with her and is wallowing in pity over chaining himself to her for eternity. Until he notices her maid, Eliza. A bright intelligent woman who sparks easy conversation and he fights the attraction he feels for her. He's betrothed, and a promise is a promise. Or is it? Could happiness outweigh his betrothal regardless of the financial gain he'll make?

Every single book I've read by Annabelle Anders has touched my heart. If this is your first Anders book, I would recommend you browse her other stories. Each story is unique and you'll walk away either learning something new, understanding someone's perception on matters, or witnessing a really good love story. But in every case, the book will touch your heart. I consume many books in a year's time and when Annabelle Anders has a new release, I drop what I'm reading to read hers.

I was gifted with an ARC of her book and am willingly posting a review. What a heart-warming story for Christmas!

A great collection of Christmas regency novellas. A lot of them are different than most regencies I have read and they are uniqueness was welcome and enjoyable.

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders. 5 stars
Very much unlike any other regencies I’ve read. Startling difference, in fact. But, that made it way more enjoyable and felt like I was reading “on the edge.” I loved the bits of humor woven in. I look forward to reading more from this author.

A Gypsy’s Christmas Kiss by Dawn Brower. 5 stars
This is my first book from this author. An unique story. Nothing like what I normally expect from a regency novella. It was a welcomed diversion and an enjoyable read. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

Mistletoe, Whisky, and a Rogue by Jane Charles. 5 stars
My first book by this author. The language was a bit much to get past at first, but once I realized it was just with those Scottish I was able to convert the reading into that with an accent and it all smoothed out beautifully then. A unique book for one of the regency type. But it was a welcome difference.

Silver Bells and Mistletoe by Anna St. Clair. 5 stars
An exciting and enticing adventure. My first book by this author and I’m excited to read more! Wonderful characters and storyline!

Stealing a Rogue’s Kiss by Amanda Mariel. 5 stars
This is my first book by this author. A fun and unique premise. Very short, but enjoyable.

Bedded under the Christmastide Moon by Christina McKnight. 4 stars
A premise under taken all within hours of marriage. Enjoyable characters. This is not a clean romance.

A Winter Wish-By Nadine Millard. 5 stars
A good deal of humor involved which was most wonderful and welcome. My first book by this author and I absolutely loved it. It was wonderful in all ways.

On a Midnight clear by Sandra SooKoo. 5 stars

I appreciate the war and soldier dynamic. It’s easy for people to equate the two and I’m glad that this fleshes out the soldiers perspective. Wonderful characters and an adventure of a story.

Miss pageant’s Christmas proposal by Tabetha Waite. 5 stars
This was a grand adventure. I truly loved it and the characters. A perfect ending to the boxset.

I received a copy of this book from Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders 5 stars
This is such a sweet and magical Christmas time story! These two were clearly meant to be together even though they come from very different backgrounds. Everyone can see what's between them, but Christmas magic will make sure they are together.

Eliza is strong-willed and sharp-tongued and not meant to be a Lady's maid. She has a way of knowing the perfect gifts for anyone and speaks her mind.

Anthony puts others first and that's why he needs a wife with a dowry. He couldn't stay away from Eliza no matter how hard he tried.

A Gypsy's Christmas Kiss by Dawn Brower 4 stars
This one is kinda a whirlwind romance in a way. They met when she told him he would have to choose a path one day and neither one forgot that meeting. Then a surprising chance encounter reignites the spark between them and they quickly realize their love for each other. They come from different worlds in some ways, but they are meant to be with each other.

Lulia is a woman that had taken care of herself for years, but she does have a secret that will change how some see her. I loved her right away because of how she was with people and seemed to float between to worlds. She anchors Fin and helps him realize what path he should take.

Fin has avoided choosing his path for years and meeting Lulia again will force him to decide. He is an impulsive man at times, but that makes you love him because he doesn't hide his feelings. I loved that nothing was going to stand in his way when it came to her.

This is a collection of 9 books by 9 different authors. Some of these authors I have read before, some it has been awhile since I have read them, and some are brand new authors to me. – This is the beauty of a collection of stories. At this time, I have only read 3 of the stories so I will review them.

Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders is about Anthony, who is an Earl and Eliza who is a maid. Anthony was courting a woman who Eliza was her Lady’s Maid. Eliza was a Vicar’s daughter but when her father died, she had to go out to service and became a Lady’s Maid. As soon as Anthony saw Eliza he was intrigued, and almost felt like she was not a servant. Annabelle Anders wrote a nice story with a Happily Ever After, and I really enjoyed it.

Stealing a Rogue’s Kiss by Amanda Mariel is such a sweet love story about Daphne and Marcus, it will have you smiling. I really like Marcus and how he accepted Daphne. I always enjoy reading Amanda Mariel stories.

Bedded Under the Christmastide Moon by Christina McKnight is a sad-serious story of Millie and Brigham who knew each other since they were little. They married so Millie and her sick mother would not be homeless. They never had a true marriage, but this Christmas season Millie wants to change this. I believe this is the first book I have read by Christina McKnight and I also enjoyed this story.

What an awesome anthology!
What an awesome anthology some of my favorite authors are in this collection. I picked up the arc on Booksprout because of Amanda Mariel, but Dawn Brower, Christina McKnight, and Sandra SooKoo were authors I have read and loved. Now Annabelle Anders, Jane Charles, Anna St. Clair, Nadine Millard, and Tabetha Waite were all new authors for me. I loved each and every book. Amanda Mariel’s Stealing a Rogue’s Kiss was delightful loved Daphne and Marcus. Christina McKnight’s Bedded Under the Christmastide Moon had some very sad parts but the story was really good. Nadine Millard is new to me but I adored her book Mariah and Brandon are all cold on the outside but the fire that was in the inside oh my. I could go on and on about this collection. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up they are wonderful stories. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

I read Maid under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders
Eliza Drake’s father passed away earlier than predicted and so she is now relegated to being a servant. Eliza is outspoken, intelligent, beautiful, and clearly was not raised to be a servant. In her fourth position, due to her demeanor, she is the new maid to Lady Felicity. Lady Felicity is a snob and practically betrothed to Anthony Crespin, the Earl of Mapleton. He is in need of a wife who can fill his coffers. Because of recent fires in his village he has spent a lot of his money in order to rebuild the town and its businesses.
Anthony and Eliza have a bond from the beginning. He sees her for the woman she is and not the servant. I enjoyed this book. I thought it witty and romantic. It was also nice to see life from the servant’s point of view. I received an ARC of this book and chose to post a review.

My review is for "Maid Under the Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders".
This is a clean short story about Eliza, a down on her luck ladies maid and Anthony the earl that fell in love with her. characters. Their romance is sweet, cute and centered around Christmas with a HEA.

This a book of short Christmas stories. Some are longer then others but they present the opportunity to experience a variety of authors writing styles which is always a good thing when looking for your next great read. Short Stories are not my favorite since I need more background to connect with the characters, but if Christmas short stories are your preference you should enjoy this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy provided by Annabelle Anders.

Loved this anthology!
Maid Under The Mistletoe by Annabelle Anders is a great story. Eliza’s a misplaced person trying to find her way in the world after her father passes away. She secures a job as a lady’s maid, but she’s-not very accomplished. Enter Anthony, the Earl of Mapleton, who is courting Eliza’s lady. But, Anthony is attracted to Eliza and he cannot deny it.

A Gypsy’s Christmas Kiss by Dawn Brower
Finley Prescott meets Lulia Vasile after his father passes away. They are 15 and 20 and Lulia reads Fin’s palm. There is attraction there but they part and Fin leaves for London. Many years later they meet again and their story continues!

I was happy to receive a copy of this anthology! I’m a fan of Annabelle Anders and there were some authors included that I didn’t know. Too be honest, I only enjoyed 3 of the 9 stories. Another was almost good. One was so boring! Not Annabelle’s :-). I did not care for the outdoor love scene in another, nor the yelling hero either. Some highs, some lows. I did not take away a new author to enjoy. There needs to be some serious editing still. Hopefully this will be corrected before release.
