Loving a man is hard, but loving an abusive man is definitely a challenge. Somehow, even though an abusive man gives off several warning signs that you should stay away, you can’t. That’s the situation that Gina finds herself in when she meets Sameer. Even though Sameer seemed to have issues with his temper and her sister Nina warned her about him, Gina can’t help but be drawn to the handsome stranger. It doesn’t take long for Sameer to start exhibiting violence towards Gina, but she still takes up for him. She claims it was an accident and he didn’t mean to do it. Which twin will get a happily ever after or will they both become victims and end up being a statistic? Follow these two sisters in the first installment of The Day She Tried to Leave…
These twins are starting to have turmoil in their lives like they've never seem before. Gina should have listened to her intuition so she could have avoided the dangerous situation she is facing. Nina's problems are also starting to arise. Looking forward to reading next part to see how this story ends
Lord these characters were something else in this book. Sameer was so childish and im ready to see how things are gonna end between him and Gina. I wish Gina would've listened to her twin about him after he kept showing her who he really was. I can't wait to see how Brock and Gina's marriage and problems is gonna end in the next story. This was a good book
From start to finish this was a very good read. Gina should have listened to Nina when she told her to not get involved with Sameer. He is messed up in the head because of his father. Gina deserves so much more. Kalisha is a fool for thinking a baby would make Sameer change and want to be a family with her and their unborn. Seeing Nina admit that she had a problem and needed help was great. I believe every thing she did especially when it came to Gina, pushed Brick to do what he did. Can't wait to read part 2.
Damn Gina. You done pissed me off. You were warned time and time again, but you didn’t listen. Now look what happened. I hope you get away before it’s too late.
Good job… I’m actually looking forward to part 2. I think sameer can change ur be get help. Hear me out ladies he needs counseling and def need to understand that hurt people hurt people. I think he love Gina and she can maybe be the woman to allow him to change his ways and see that his actions are wrong af and he don’t wanna be like his father and his dad. Abuse if never right he needs to get himself together. I hope Gina don’t die or she can leave him alone and they both learn a lesson from this. Follow me on ig though @_thicki_minaj
Violence is never the excuse to put your hands on.
Sameer which I know this is friction I can relate to this story line been in a abuses relationship as a teen was hard to get out Of because I thought it was love 💘but some me up something my mother shared with me her words to me a person doesn't hard something they 💘
Why didn't Gina listen to her sister and leave Sameer but alone. He's got a temper but he's trying b to control it but he can't it is only gonna get worse. Nina got a temper also her and Sameer needs help before they end up in jail. I can't wait to read the nxt part to c who Gina leave Sameer alone and if Nina get back with Brock
Great job ladies you both did a excellent job it was truly difficult for me to read after getting into it but I chose to finish book 1 I'm a victim of Domestic violence and almost didn't get out I will definitely read book 2 too see if Gina gets out.❤❤💕💕📚
This story is to much. But I realize things do happen this in real life. I want say to much because I will tell the story, and I don't want to do that. It's a really touching story. If there is anymore interest in stories of this natural read it. Lata
The book is really a good read just some grammatical errors and one name mix up but other then that I loved it and couldn’t stop reading until I was done
Sameer is trash. He made me sick from day one. If Gina would have just listened to her sister but a hard head makes for a soft behind. Smh enough is enough.
They say love makes you do stupid things. Gina was warned by her twin from day one. Looking for something her sister had in all the wrong places. When is enough enough???
Sometimes a person need to heed to the warnings that they're given because all the warning signs Nina was giving Gina she didn't take heed because Sameer is very manipulative, his past life had taken over him because of what his dad and grandfather but their wives thru. He felt like he was entitled to every and everyone else was wrong. Once someone hit you then it will turn out to be a repeated thing, Nina could comprehend that because she was very abusive to her husband which made him step out on their marriage. Sameer was something else with himself and Kalisha allowed that man to treat her like she was dirt and she kept going back to him knowing he didn't want her. Gina should have walked away from the 1ST sign of abuse then he was very jealous so that was another sign. He was a woman beater and thought it was ok but he couldn't best Brock up. Domestic violence is a very serious matter so after the first lick then that person need to walk all the way from that situation. This book was a very good read as usual coming from these 2 authors so 5 stars are not enough for this book.********************************************************************
Domestic violence committed by both male and female is portrayed in this book. Nina, who is abusing her husband, recognizes that she has a problem. She is also fearful for her twin, Gina, who is being abused in her own relationship. Gina is in denial, though and makes excuses for Sameer's behavior. The thing that upsets me most about Gina's situation is that she's not in a relationship; they're just bed buddies. They only actually went out once, and the rest was booty calls with one of them leaving afterwards. So what is she taking all this abuse for? She's been warned by her sister and by Sameer's ex. And the ex is now stupid for Sameer again. Each of these characters need help and Gina definitely needs to cut her losses and move on. I rated a 3 because I didn't like how weak Gina and Kalisha were depicted. Domestic violence is a serious problem and they act like they've never heard of it.
I don’t know much about domestic violence except what I’m reading or seeing on TV. There is one similarity though: It seems like men who are raised by their father’s alone seem to have some type of pinned-up grudge against women because their mother left them with their abusive father to spare her own life. On the flip side of it all, women caught up in the abuse tend to blame themselves when their mate beat on them. In the beginning of this story Nina saw all the signs of abuse in Sameer, but her sister Gina thought she was being too over-protective. Maybe Nina knew because she possess some traits of being an abuser herself, but nonetheless Gina needed to move slowly with Sameer. Her desire to be with a man so badly got her caught up in a bad situation. Now, Kalisha, she is just plain out stupid. Stay away while you got the chance. Why are you fighting to be with someone who doesn’t think twice about beating on you? Another informative read by Lady Lisa.
The Day She Tried To Leave: A Domestic Violence by Lady Lissa and Shelli Marie is a interesting story. Both ladies did a excellent job. Those ladies know what they are doing when comes their writing skills. They’re a beast and an amazing authors. It’s well written and it’s phenomenal page.
Gina should listen to her twin sis Nina and Kalisha about Sameer. I believe that Gina and Sameer are rushing into relationships because Sameer is a handsome man but he’s not a right man for Gina. He doesn’t know how treating her right.
Hopefully, Gina will walk away from drama and focus on herself. Gina needs to find a good man who cares about her and understand her. Kalisha needs to focus on herself and her son because she doesn’t need Sameer in her life.
I can’t wait to read part two of this series.
Good read: Gina needs to walk away from drama. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢💙💙🙄💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🙄🙄🙄
Let's get right to it....Kalisha is an idiot because she thinks a baby will make Sameer's abusive a$$ magically convert to being a wholesome, loving family man. Yeah right. She's engaging in social media beefs with Gina, for what?? A good piece? Girl bye! Nina is a bossy, judgmental hypocrite. I get that she hates in her what she sees in Sameer, but her approach was all wrong. Who is she to block contacts, demand Gina not to see him then take it upon herself to block him. Right or not, Gina has to not want that relationship to leave him alone, not Nina. As for Gina, smh, how many times does Sameer have to show his temper for her to get a clue and leave him?
I'm reading the next installment in the hopes of finding out why Brock cheated and where Nina has been hiding. Gina and Kalisha, getting what they think they deserve, so 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
This was a really good book on Domestic Violence. A serious issue that is happening everyday. What is it that makes Gina stay with Sameer. The warning signs were there from day one. Her sister Nina has tried to warn her but Nina also needs to take her own advice because her actions against her husband are no different from Sameer. What I love about this book is that it shows Donestic Violence on both sides; Man against Women and Woman against Man. What we dont always hear about when the woman is the abuser. Now that Sameer's behavior has elevated will Gina finally leave? Will Nina get help for her behavior and Is Kalisha done with Sameer for good. Looking forward to reading part 2.
Nina and Gina were identical twins and thick as thieves. Nina was married to Brock and Gina was single as can be. When Gina meets Sameer he seems to be the perfect guy by looks , car but his demeanor screamed dark and Nina begged her sister not to see him. Sander has came from a line of abusers and will not stop with Gina. Jealousy can be cute and we gals will smile not knowing that first grab turns into a smack and then a beat down. Nina see’s her sister slowly breaking down but she’s got some things going on in her marriage . Sander knows he has Anger issues, his ex Kalisha says she is pregnant and not going anywhere! As Sameer surprises Gina with their renovated home the table turns and the monster appears. I just hope Gina survives and gets out!!!
I'm just go say domestic violence is real and it's sad some women don't know their worth. I hope they realize before it's too late. I am a survivor myself so this a pretty touchy topic for me. I was only 17 when it happened but I got out and ran and never looked back. I hope other women can do the same. I know Sameer is beating the hell out of her. I wish she would have listened to her sister who clearly had her best interest at heart. Maybe in book 2 she'll get the strength she need to push through and get away from him. I really hope he end up dead. Well I'm bout to get on book 2 now. I'm really enjoying myself here Lissa 🙂
Sameer is a F boy he needs to grow up from his past and face his demons because with him keep hitting on Gina and Kalisha it is not going to end well. Gina is so naive her twin sister keep telling her Sameer is no good for her but she so 🍆matized that she can’t see he isn’t no good for her. I feel for Gina because I been in her shoes where I wanted unconditional love but sometimes when we want something so bad at that moment it’s not meant to be hopefully in Parg 2 Gina can find the strength to walk away from F boy Sameer
These authors really brought the fire with this book. Domestic violence can have men and women as the perpetrators, and it was shown with Sameer and Nina. The only difference is that Nina realized that she had a problem, whereas Sameer was a complete dog. I feel so sorry for Gina and can’t wait to read book two.
Domestic violence please ladies and men get some help. Gina really should had listen to her Gina. Gina needs some helps also. I really hope that Gina pull thru this but I'm afraid she ain't because she didn't tell anyone where she went. Melissa if you want your baby stay away from him clearly.
Gina is crazy for wanting Semeer abusive ass. Kalisha pregnant by Sameer and know he abusive but don’t want him then she do want him to not move on with Gina. Nina is abusive toward her cheating ass husband Brock and talk shit to Gina about Sameer! All these SOBs fucked up🤣🤣🤣
Woo!! Gina red flags from the beginning. Nina Warned her several times. I hope both Kalisha and Gina catch there heads and leave Sameer completely alone!! I commend Nina for admitting she has a problem hopefully she seeks help. Brock getting them hands big time.. Great read .. On to part 2
