The power of life and death lay in the palm of her hand. With a single touch, Ebony Saintizaire could heal you or kill you, depending.
Like the daughters of Mama Bah that came before, Ebony didn’t choose her gift; the gift chose her. However, keeping her supernatural ability a secret proved difficult in a battle of good versus evil; light versus darkness, ascension versus damnation. Which side would Ebony choose or had that decision already been made?

This 3rd book of the series discussed Ebony who had powers that could heal the sick. The storyline was written with a past and present timeline and included previous characters, London and Sable. Their combined powers worked well together and prevented a catastrophic event from occurring. Good read. Looking forward to next installment
I really don’t know how to feel about this series. On one hand I’m ecstatic about beautiful black women in power, and the aspect of this I love. But the back and forth between times got really tiresome and a little overdrawn. Sometimes confusing in trying to figure out what going all the way back to the slaves and the young girl having the baby had to do with the story. Either I missed the purpose of that or it was never explained. Then out of all the cases they got only 3 were solved so we never got to find out what happened to the guy attacked at school or the police brutality case. I probably won’t read more after this if there is more, I felt like out of 3 books we didn’t get far. I wound up skipping chapters in this last book and wanted to in the first two, but didn’t because I wanted to see if it was going to really get some where, but I had to skip in this last one. Overall it was an okay read, but I’m glad it’s over now.
Choosing a series to read is something I do selectively as I've found some to lose their glow down the line. This story line just flows as if it's one book. The emotions felt by each character are personally identifiable to me as a Black woman. The only issue I have doesn't take away from the great skill of the author. The editing needs work but it's not anything that interferes with the joy of reading the book. I almost never leave reviews so please don't hesitate to read Ms. Green's work.
Either I am reading too fast or the books are shorter. I can't put them down, I want to not binge read, because I don't want the series to end, great story telling. You are truly gifted. On to book 4

"Ebony: Tales of a Blackened Soul" by Deidra D. S. Green
My Rationalization:
We are presented with another 'Tales of a Blackened Soul' which featured Ebony [healer] and her mom Anaica along with other characters such as Mama Bah [priestess], London [vision], and Sable [moving things] to name a few. The thing about London, Sable and Ebony were that they all had special gifts. It was quite interesting when they were able to work together as it was for London and Sable to achieve a certain goal.
You will be given a lot of information about Ebony with her mom Anaica. The story will take on several themes that will be covered from those horrible Tunstall's who was into sex trafficking, to police brutality, This is where we find Lance [former cop] who now worked for the Reynolds Private Investigations was taking on a case that had been turned over to him by his employer that involved two black boys Shemar and Jeremiah who had been beaten badly by some crooked cops. What will Lance have to do to help these boys? By the end of the story, we see Mama Bah doing her thing at bringing people together and we will also be given another character of interest Damian Fitzpatrick. So, I see we will have to pick up the last series to get the rest of these stories to see how this author brings it all out to the reader.
I will say there will be lots going on in this story from good to evil so you will just have to keep up and I would definitely suggest if you haven't read the rest of this authors series of 'Tales of a Blackened Soul' please do. It will make it a lot easier to understand what has gone on before and how all of these characters connect so very well to each other.
Was on kindle looking for NTMA and ran across this book. The cover automatically gains a star from me because it does as hell! This was definitely out of my normal genre but it intrigued me. The reason I only gave it 3 stars because the title insinuates this book was going to be about the character Ebony in the book. Although her story was told I still don’t know Ebony. This book was greatly written and I saw where it could’ve gone but didn’t quite reach it. With all that being said would I read another book by this author? ABSOLUTELY!!! And I’m on to Onyx next to see what that’s hitting for.
This story really brought all loose ends together. It was a fantastic read and I felt like I was right there as the scenes were unfolding. I can’t sit to find out what happens next and what the next “Daughter” will add to the story. Must Read!
First time reading anything from this author and she's definitely has my attention👍👍👍👍 I have to go back and leave reviews for part 1 & 2 of this series I'm on to Onyx great job
