It’s a challenge to read something written in an age of tacit misogyny (1940s) and be unbothered. The story and its unraveling of mysteries are beautifully crafted. I enjoy a good murder mystery. It is a nice vacation book in that it takes place at a summer retreat. The constant reference to a beautiful woman deserving to die because men lusted after her was a damp towel.

Was slow at first, lots of characters to remember. However, after Chapter 5, things started to pick up. I was surprised I felt, the climax and the investigation was a bit rushed compared to the rest of the story.
This was my first Agatha Christie book and boy! I really enjoyed the twists and turns and how Hercule Poirot gets his man! I was not given to reading the Dame earlier but this really opened my eyes to her writing! Not for nothing is she the most widely read author after Shakespeare. Hats off to the story!
I think this is a very interesting detective fiction that I like very much. The most interesting thing is the excited process to find the murderer and catch him. This is hard for the detective to find the murderer. He use a lot of things to confuse the police so this is a very good book
