In the end, there should be no excuses, no explanations, and no regrets.
It all comes down to this…
Dark forces led by Damien are amassing, threatening everything Dean and Mikael have ever loved and cared about. As the couple desperately try to save what might be the last druid child, they, along with the rest of their group, have to face down not only monsters but painful memories made into unspeakable horrors.
The Grove is the focus of Damien’s evil attention, along with Dean and the child. Everything comes down to one final confrontation in the place where it all started. As both sides come together, Dean is forced to face the last of his demons, and along with the rest of his family, come to blows with the greatest evil they have ever known.
It ends here. Dean and Mikael’s final stand against the Darkness. Is the light at the end of the tunnel worth the journey it took to get there?
The Grove is where it all started, and The Grove is where it must end.

Being a natural introvert with significant extrovert tendencies he expresses himself through the world of writing MM books, often with a darker, paranormal twist. His books are written from the heart of his deep, sensitive and mysterious, but playful and creative, wild spirit.
Noah is dedicated to giving something back to the universe, sharing generously in his successes and inspiring and motivating others through his writing and in any other way he can. He believes in living a natural, healthy lifestyle and has embraced meditation as a way of clearing the 'noise' in his head and allowing his dark creativity to shine through in his books.
He is determined to reach out to as many readers, who he considers his 'friends', as he can through his unique personal touch and through building like-minded communities online. It is this personal touch, with his readers, that sets him apart from most other authors today.
Our awesome couple, Druid/farmer, Dean and the Carpenter, shifter Alpha Mikael "Me-kell" are beginning their trek into the frozen tundra and unknown territory with the team. There is a new Druid to save. Lucile, Apollo, Dante, our men and Silun, 19, the new Shaman are working together. Back at The Grove there has been an attack, but our team must finish their quest. It's trecherous and a disaster is discovered, caused by the zombie-like beings from the Darkness. Dean saves the baby named Dimitri, plus the team escapes the devastation, violence, and death, and head home.
Our men are closer than ever, plus dedicated, extremely tough, and steamy in their M/M sexy times.
More trouble awaits in The Grove, as everyone is preparing for battle. Many Alphas and their Packs have gathered to help. Damien shows up before the war and delivers a deathly blow. We see the grief and continued and renewed measures to defeat the Darkness, knowing the violence is coming soon.
The vile creatures wreak havoc, causing injuries, while we know the fight is life and death on the line. We get big action and battle scenes as Damien and his minions keep attacking. The ending is spectacular, breathtaking and final.
I have loved these fabulous characters, the fresh and exciting plots, the terrific humor and witt, and the scorching sex scenes. I highly recommend these tales. Be sure to have tissues handy... The 10 year epilogue is wonderful.
E N J O Y !
======= Thanks so much dearest Darlene for this recommendation !
I have loved this series since staying up all night reading book one, the Carpenter's Secret, and now the end is here. I really enjoyed following along with these characters on their journey to their happy ending, it was a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. This final visit to the Grove was bittersweet but I loved every minute of it. A perfect ending to this amazing series.

The Carpenter's Fate by Noah Harris is an awesome story to read. This is book number eight in this awesome series that I have fallen in love with and I can not get enough. I highly recommend this story to everyone who love reading about LGBT and paranoraml romances in their stories as much as I do.

I always find something new every time I read Family Secrets
I want to start out my review by saying in 1999 while I was walking across the street a pickup truck ran a red light and tossed all 125 lbs of me ½ a block. I cashed in my "Get out of dying for free" card. I won't bore you with the lasting injuries I sustained other than one. I have Traumatic Brain Injury which means I don't remember most of the following two years and I still get to read books, or watch movies for that matter, for the first time (as far as I remember) three or four times. As I read "Family Secrets" I begin to remember that I have read the series before but yet It's still remains as if I never had. As the series progresses I don't know what will happen until I finish a book, but I do know by then that I've read it before. I believe that with eash "first" reading I find parts that I don't remember and I treasure those moments. Noah Harris wrote this series while in his 20's and either he has either had all the same joy, heartbreak and experiences that he pours into his books or he did a lot of research for each one. In his books you will a find deep wisdom that is beyond most men in their 20's, in the characters and artful depictions of their everyday lives. I can't speak for everyone but if you have read the entire series then I'm sure that some of you have laughed out loud, became entangled in the various passions, plots and schemes. And maybe like me, even cried for the characters as if they were your own dear friends. I can think of nothing better than getting sucked into a story as if it's happening in front of my eyes and Noah accomplishes this feat with seemingly ease. As for what happens in the book all I can say without giving you spoilers is that Dean comes into his own power dragging his mate and their friends along for the ride. You will not come away disappointed.
With all the foreshadowing in the first 7 books I thought I was prepared for the events in this book that I knew were inevitable. I was not. I felt the lose more then expected and almost cried with the lose of a character.
I also knew a child would come into the story line and reading Noah’s other works I was anticipating a surprise pregnancy but that’s not what we got.
As all good things must do, this series comes to an end. I wish Noah would have made the final book slightly longer and gave us alittle more for the final climax but he accomplished the goal we all wanted in the end.
Wow, what a wonderful adventure it has been. I wouldn't mind seeing a follow up series with Dimitri's generation, but I just hate seeing such an in depth world come to a close. Thanks Noah Harris for creating a world that drew me in and gave me an emotional rollercoaster ride.
I read all 8 books, though they hit a lot of rough patches, the love and trust in one another is truly inspiring. I'm not ready for their story to end. Excited to read more from Noah Harris.
This was a powerful final book to the series, Family Secrets. Dean and Mikael and the group who original left for the hot desert are now in the coldest region in Russian. Silun ghosts have reach out to him about a druid child in need of being saved. So the group set out to locate the child who’s in danger of the Darkness killing it.
I love the trials this group of men go through and the bantering of Dante and Apollo are a hoot which adds so much to the story. The mission is more dangerous than the desert. This time the Darkness includes Damien and his group of emissary’s with him to kill Dean and bring him into the Darkness and then an endless void.
They arrive at a town that Silun says the child is at, but they decide to hold back because it was so late. But trouble doesn’t stay away and the group was woken in the very early morning by a fire blazing in the town.
Of course Dean doesn’t wait for anyone and rushes into the burning city with one thought on his mind; get to the child. It was a good size town and Dean wasn’t sure where the child would be, but a crying child got Dean’s attention and hurries towards the sound. In a burning home the sound of crying came through the closed door. It had something holding it shut and Dean shoved his way in.
The dying mother was propped up at the door, there he finds the child, a baby. With her dying words she told Dean his name was Dimitri, said he was special and to take care of him as she said her last goodbye. That’s when Dean was confronted with his old Talon who dies in the mountain was now back having the Darkness in him.
It wasn’t just Talon there but his friends and mate where also fighting all the dead shamans that died in the mountain; all with the Darkness within them. Mentally they were not they’re old friends and mentors, but a vessel to hold the Darkness to do its work.
Even when the group and the baby made it back to the states and home, there would be a war waiting for them. Dean and Mikael accepted to raise the baby as their own and Samuel the leader accepted it and Dean to be his biological father. Before the war began, a group of Alpha’s was checking out the area for the war, Mikael’s father was killed by Damien after a failed attempt on Dean’s life.
Everything was an emotional high; Mikael’s father’s death was the hardest, but also when Dean decided to send the baby away with Lucille. The fight between Talon, Damien and Dean was frightening and thrilling all in one. All of it kept me riveted to the pages. Noah does outstanding writing and brings the plots from over all the books to satisfying conclusion. I especially loved the Epilogue, Ten Years Later. It was such a thrill to hear how taking Dimitri was doing and what our two loving men were up to. I loved the book; I loved the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Total Score: 5/5
Summary: This series has been a roller coaster ride leading to the ultimate clash between the light and dark. Dean is determined to find what could be the only other Druid left in existence before the members of the Dark find him. Wit the help of his mate Mikael and other pack members they continue their search. The dangers they face is daunting, but the safety of the world is at stake. The Grove, the packs home, comes under attack, but they manage to repel it and hold their own before Mikael and Dean return. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes as one of their own makes the ultimate sacrifice leaving the others to lead them either into victory or death.
This was a fast paced story that took the reader into Dean and Mikael’s world as the struggled to keep their love alive while protecting their family. It was terrifying how the Dark could corrupt anyone they got control of taking away their identity making them into little more than a slave. It was sad to see people that Dean and Mikael loved turned into a shadow of what they used to be, but as Dean said what they saw wasn’t their friend anymore.
I loved how Dean and Mikael took Dimitri, the future Druid they found, into their hearts giving him the love and home he had lost at the hands of the Darkness. Watching Dean’s initial fumbling attempts at fatherhood to his growing love for Dimitri was wonderful to see.
What a stunning conclusion in the fight for light over the Darkness. This book picks up where book 7 left off. Please read the series, it is time well spent. I could not put this book down. I had to see what came next! I loved this book. You will too. Mikael and Dean are headed off to save what the spirits tell them is the last druid baby. Accompanied by Apollo, Dante, Silun, & Lucille , they will do all in their power to save the child. As Dean's druid powers continue to grow, he will need all his new- found strength to combat the coming Darkness. Enemies abound, along with corrupted friends, and an ancient evil. There is violence. There is death. There is sacrifice, bravery, humor, and love. Did I mention hot sex? Ooh, and the most adorable baby! You will be carried away with our intrepid warriors; feeling their terror, their love, their loyalty, their courage. You will love this book! There is HEA. But triumph will not come without sacrifice. Despite being the end of this quest, you are left wanting more. Unwilling to leave their lives behind when you close the book. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex, violence, and is intended for mature readers only.
Oh, how I wish I could give this book many more stars than five. With each addition to this series I find myself more in awe of this author’s ability to create such amazing characters and adventures. This is more proof that he has an ability that is truly a gift. Returning, once again, to The Grove and reuniting with the citizens there has been a journey that I’m sorry to see come to a close. Dean and Mikael have become friends and their struggles, trials and wars have kept me actively invested in their lives. We’ve watched them from the beginning, hurt with them and rejoiced here, as they fought this battle and won their lives back. Hoping for another set of adventures with other members of the pack and realizing our heroes live on in our hearts. Another absolutely phenomenal escape into the The Grove and another phenomenal experience we were allowed to share while there.

An excellent conclusion to this series, the final battle between good and evil as Dean and Mikael rally the werewolves to fight against the Darkness . As Dean and his crew of wolves find themselves in Russia trying to rescue what might be the last Druid child from Damien and his evil , they have to face the horror of friends corrupted by the Darkness and used to cause pain not just in a physical sense. The story is full of excitement and plenty of blood and gore in the various battles, but it still has the humour and yes the heated love scenes that you expect from Noah’s books. Yes this is a m/m romance, but it is well written and full of emotion and loveable characters. Anyone who loves PNR would enjoy this book and the series definitely goes out with bang. Best read in order to get the most enjoyment.

And so the Family Secrets series ends. 😪 The last outing for Dean and Mikael. 😫 but they go out with a bang! Noah has excelled himself with this entire series and the ending is absolutely perfect. From the Russian tundra and back home to The Grove, with a baby in tow, the two men have to deal with an old enemy and some corrupted old friends. The story is full of emotional ups and downs, and there is peril, injury and, yes, death along the way as Dean and Mikael make a final stand in The Grove. There is also some belly shaking humour and of course the requisite romance and heat that Noah writes so well. This is MM romance at it’s best, loveable characters, an intrepid plot, emotion, heat, humour and so much more. I’d love to give more than five stars. I read an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Dean and Mikael with the merry crew are in Russia looking for a child that the darkness is wanting. The emissary are targeting mouth the grove and the group. Getting back home with a baby safely was going to be either the hardest or worse for Dean. With enemies knocking at the grove's door can Dean keep the ones he love safe? Long dead enemies merge thanks to the darkness bringing it home. This was such a emotional and physical struggle with Dean gaining control his powers along with keeping everyone safe until he couldn't keep one safe enough. The fight for control over the world stands in the way of eternal darkness. On a side note you get a glance at Danta's softer side and a laugh at Mikael with his gift giving. Loved this series.
Pros ** - action/adventure ** - some angst ** - some sweetness ** - established couple I love... Mikael and Dean ** - shifters/wolf ** - druid ** - brought me to tears
Cons ** - the only con is that this is the last book in this series so I have to say goodbye to Mikael and Dean and that is making me very sad. I will miss these guys!
Over the course of this series my rating for individual books has been 3 - 4 stars. Now that the series has finished I give the complete series a very solid 4.5 Stars with the last book being the best of the bunch for bringing the conclusion to a satisfying end. It definitely needs to be read as a whole to appreciate it!
Note - It looks like there is going to be a spin-off featuring Dante and Apollo. I really hope that will happen, I need to know more about those two!!!
Outstanding Noah Harris. Bringing together the forces of good and evil, showing that sometimes love is not enough that you have to stand up and fight for your future and the future of everyone you love. not to mention the world in general....No pressure Dean. Dean has come into his own. He is mated to Mikael, who is a wolf, but is not one himself. But he is learning to be what he was born to be, a Shaman, with power from the earth that he is learning to harness. The 8th and final book in the series brings both forces together to decide the future. Great series, and the ending is more than you could hope for. The writing is great, the action is amazing. I would love to see a book for Apollo and Dante. Love Dante's character.
Noah Harris did a beautiful job with this last book of the Family Secrets Series! I spent this last week doing a re-read of the entire series because I felt it was the only way to truly appreciate the story. As I've come to expect, this was well written, both the plot and characters. I was able to connect and became emotionally invested with each of the characters, not just the main characters. This whole series was 5 star quality! I'm just sad that it's over... although Noah did an excellent job wrapping it up without making it seem as though I was missing anything. Well Done! :)
When you are following a series, reaching the end is never easy. This last book in the series closes it amazingly with all conflicts solved and the love and companionship between Dean and Mikael and the rest of the characters growing with every book and every chapter, making all of them a nice happy family. I’m sorry to say that if you are new to this series you needed to start with book 1, to fully understand and appreciate this last book. Amazing reading! I hope we can hear something more about these characters in a spin-off or special short story. 🙏🙏🙏 I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.
This is an incredibly brave dedicated team! This last story is good. I could read this series forever! The mission is absolutely terrifying, challenging, rewarding and brings out all emotions on the spectrum. Mr. Harris, wields his keyboard with the utmost talent! He equals Shonda Rhimes in all his plot twists, gotchas and forcing the reader up to the top of the Kingda Ka and shoving us down. I put on a sweater because I could feel the cold in the Russian tundra. The battle scenes were so descriptive, I was reaching for my 'bat'. Mr Harris draws you into the story very well. Absolutely enjoyed it. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
This is a bittersweet ending to a wonderful series! The final conflict between the wolves and the master of darkness is comparable to the rings!! I could visualize the fights and hear the roar of the wolves as they battle the darkness of the undead. Dean worrying about the child he just found and sending him away is what you would expect a parent to do. However, there are two unexpected surprises and one breaks my heart while the other has me jumping for joy! All in all this is a great ending and I enjoyed it to the end!!
I loved it however this is the first book in this series that I have read, my advice would be to start with book one. This book has a lot of action and I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on the first seven books in this series. If you are looking for a great adventure, lots of action, great world building and fantastical characters you can’t help but to love then this is the series for you. I loved it and hope you -Enjoy.

This series of books has been excellent and so captivating. Each gets you caught up in the characters quickly and keeps you there book after book. This final one had me crying as things happened to some of the characters that I have learned to enjoy. It’s a shame the series is over as it seems as though there are many more untold stories In the Grove and with other characters. Hopefully, a new series will start and give us just that. Thanks Noah for being so creative and writing such wonderful works of art!
Mikael, Dean, Dante Apollo Silun and Lucille are searching for the missing druid baby - but Damien;'s darkness is getting stronger, and the Grove is attacked. Should they keep searching, or return to help their pack protect their home? Will Damien finally win, or will light overcome his darkness? It seems that all roads lead back to the Grove. I have loved this series!

The carpenters fate was such a incredible finale to mikael and deans journey his finale had me on the edge of my seat from page to page and word to word
You get action intensity moving powerful and meaningful moments
But you can also feel how much love mikael and dean have for each other aswell
It is the perfect ending to a amazing journey
I voluntary reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
Omg, drama, betrayals, laughs, suspense, and heat, but love perseveres! Emotional journey (keep the Kleenex handy) you don't want to miss. Can Mikael and Dean get out from under the darkness of Damien and crew, or will he prevail? I liked the growth of Dean and Mikael individually and together! They have weathered some horrific storms, but is the price too high this time?? Check it out. Amazing end.
This book was entertaining and captivating. It has suspense, action and a sense of adventure. It has few twist in the plot that gives it an edge. The family bond was strong. The love and loyalty shown by the characters were remarkable. The ending was beautiful. It was an excellent read you won't be disappointed.

This is the final book in this series. It does not disappoint. This series provided the reader quite the adventure with all of the elements. Dean and Mikael and their companions are in for the fight of their lives and the author grabs the reader and takes us along for all of the suspense, worry, fear and the good and bad that comes with these kinds of stories.
