Three Sisters Ranch #3

The Cowboy's Heart

Rate this book
It would take a Christmas miracle to get these two together

Veterinarian Janice Sullivan has been horse-crazy all her life and only wanted to work on her family’s cattle farm, the Three Sisters Ranch, but her father’s constant criticisms drove her away, forcing her to choose a new career in dressage and leaving her secret crush behind. With the ranch facing possible bankruptcy, Janice has an idea to save it – a woman’s retreat. With Christmas around the corner, Janice is not only hoping for a chance under the mistletoe with the one man she’s been unable to forget, but also to give a few cowgirl wannabes a chance in the saddle.

Bah humbug! The last thing ranch foreman Nate Pierson needs is a bunch of weepy or giggly eggnog-swilling city chicks getting in his way and distracting his men while they’re busting their tails wrangling long horns. His short temper and lack of patience often push people away except the one woman he needs to leave alone. As tempting as she is, Janice, the boss’ daughter, can never be anything more than a fantasy. The only Christmas spirit he wants is 100 proof, especially when he has to matchmake Janice with the ranch’s vet.

Nate knows from experience that Christmas miracles are for suckers, but it doesn’t stop his heart from wishing Janice could wind up under his tree instead of with the man her Daddy wants her to marry.

The Cowboy's Heart (Three Sisters Ranch, #3) by Jamie K. Schmidt The Cowboy's Heart (Three Sisters Ranch Book 3) By: Jamie K. Schmidt
Will She Get To Be "The Cowboy's Heart," or Will SomeThing Interfere...
She's been "The Cowboy's Heart" since they were IN their TEENS!
But "The Cowboy's Heart" won't pay CLAIM to Her,
As Her Father is opposed to a Relationship between the Two,
Cuz He's the ForeMan, & She's the Owner's Daughter!
Plus, the Ranch is IN Financial STRAIGHTS...
And Her DAD wants Her to Marry for MONEY!
Unfortunately for Him, She's NOT Sooo HOT for the PLAN...
Cuz She knows She's "The Cowboy's Heart,"
Even if He's UnWill'n to Act Upon IT!?
I was granted, via B00|{$P®0UT, an ARC of Jamie K. Schmidt's "The Cowboy's Heart (Three Sisters Ranch Book 3)." I recommend this book to others based upon its own merits. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!
Until next time... Happy Reading!
1🌟:Hate IT! Didn't finish; usually only given if/when some contents truly objectionable (i.e. main characters does something awful & gets away w/it!)
2🌟:Don't like IT! Rating means I felt the writing was poor, editing was bad, I don't care for characters, or book had some major flaw.
3🌟: I like IT, BUT! There are minor issues... Rating means there's editing issues, needs character development, is too unrealistic, or has issues– I do not consider it an overall bad rating.
4🌟:I like IT a lot. Great, Solid Story w/ few if any inconsistencies or errors. This is a HIGH Rating, & I rarely give OUT a Higher Rating.
5🌟: I LOVE IT! It's Spectacular, & I'll read IT Over & Over Again. Few books Receive this rating from me. HowEver, those that DO become Classics.

I like Jamie's books but this one bug the crap out of me. So we know the sisters are back to save the farm, there father was overbearing and totally annoying, he needed to step the hell back and let his daughters do what they needed to do it was his fault they were gone in the first place, that is how I saw things. so you think he would have learned but no, here is Nate and Janice who have cared for each other for years but he gets in the way. Now i could see Nate stepping back years ago, but this is your change now, ball the hell up and get the woman you supposedly love. Janice if a guy doesn't man up its time to move the hell on.

Frank Sullivan ran his family the way he ran his ranch--with little sentiment and with a fiery, stubborn outlook. He drove his three daughters away, but when times got too tough, and the future of the ranch was in peril, he turned to his three daughters for help. Janice, the oldest sister, and a trained veterinary tech, loved the ranch along with her two sisters, and each of them had their own ideas for a progressive, secure future for the ranch--but how to convince their mulish father? Nate Pierson, the ranch foreman, had come to the ranch as a young man without a place to live and without much hope. He was given a home and a job, and he worked just as hard as Frank to keep the ranch going. There had been a special spark between Nate and Janice from the beginning, but Frank had forbidden them to be anything more than friends--he wanted Janice to "marry well" and bring prosperity to the ranch. Nate and Janice had never acted on their mutual attraction--except for a stolen kiss here and there. However, seeing each other again years apart fans that flame of desire to roaring life, and they also realize that love has been there all along. There are many obstacles in their way, most of all her father's failing health along with his unyielding concepts of what should be and what would never be. The heart will have its way, though, and just maybe, two people who have waited so long for each other will finally have a chance for a bright and happy future.

Janice and her sisters came back home to help save the family ranch. Each sister bought her own piece of the land and started her own business plan on it. All the proceeds helps the ranch and the businesses. Janice starts a retreat however it was struggling to get started and every chance her father got he reminded her what he thought of it. Nate was her best friend and the man she wanted but every time she thought they were getting close he never made a move. What she didn't know was her father was behind that he has warned Nate off because Janice was the only single daughter and he had plans for her to marry a rich man to save the ranch. Janice didn't care what either man thought she has a mind of her own. When she got her first group of guests at her retreat and everything was going well she started thinking positive and thinks were changing between her and Nate. Will Nate let what Janice's fater says dictate their lives? Can Janice show him that she will be happy if she only has him?

This is a great story that will draw you into the characters world and have you rooting for them. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Frank has three daughters, two of which are engaged to be married and the third one likes the Ranch Foreman Nate. Frank had a heart attack and while he was sick he sent the girls a message telling them they need to come home one last time before the bank forecloses on the ranch. They each come home and start a project that will bring income to the ranch so they can get out of the negative and save it.

He seems to always want to control Janice. He wants her to marry Pete the Veterinarian who has plenty of money instead of Frank's poor foreman. He wants her to become a large animal veterinarian so that he doesn't have to pay for one and she can work with Pete in his practice.

Nate wants Janice but respects Frank and Frank has told him hands off when it comes to his girls especially Janice. Frank also tells Nate to help push her and Pete together.

A very good book.

Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review
A quote (from ARC):
“It was uncanny that he picked up on things she didn’t say. Emily often joked that Nate and Janice could have entire conversations with each other without saying a word. It was true, too.”

A great story about long last friends’ attraction not materialized because of a stubborn parent’s opposition.
Nate and Janice’s forbidden passion seems refreshingly real and their turbulent relationship feels vibrant. Nate’s temper and their arguments seem realistic, making the romance work despite Nate’s exhaustion and burnout and Janice’s ranch troubles.
An entertaining read with genuine characters facing real problems.

This slow burning romance is filled with tension and emotional turmoil. Janice and Nate's story easy captured my attention and kept it with a enticing combination of drama, heartache, strong emotions, poignancy, desire, duty, angst, family and steam. A very enjoyable read. I am posting a candid review of my own accord.

3.5 stars.

What a ride.

This is the last book of the series, and much like the other two, it doesn’t disappoint.

This time we hear from Janice and Nate; they’ve known each other for years and loved each other from afar; that doesn’t change even when Janice’s father awful behavior drives her away for years.

I really liked Janice, we heard from her in the previous nooks, so it’s great to hear more from her in this book. I loved her love for the ranch and her family; and adored her idea of a women’s retreat!

Nate was swoony and loved him, even though he was tough and kind of a jerk at times, lol. He had a good heart, so it’s all good. I loved him with Janice, how he showed his softer side. :-)

These two were great and loved how they finally had their second chance at love.

It sucks that the series is over, I really enjoyed this girls and wish them happiness!

*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

ThreeGirls Ranch

Janice and her two sisters have come back home to try to save their ranch. They know things have to change but getting their father to agree to anything is a fight. He is hardheaded and stubborn and thinks he can run their lives. Nate is the ranch foreman. He and Janice are in love but again her father interferes. Dad doesn’t know he has raised three strong and independent women but he is about to find out. Close as only sisters can be they come up with a plan. Will Janice’s father interfere and keep Janice and Nate apart? That is a question that doesn’t have an answer until the very end of the story.

Oh Lordy…this book was absolutely amazing!! ❤️❤️

Man oh man—this book literally steals your bra way. It has a little bit of everything…and you’ll definitely need tissues to get through it. The storyline was truly amazing; the characters something else; the plot twists and turns were sort of crazy; but the HEA was totally kick ass. Even though you knew that Janice and Nate would end up together, it still made your heart hurt during the journey to get there. You need to read this book. I definitely think you should grab a copy today!

I really liked ‘the cowboy” … I did not like the parent’s. They have driven the ranch into the ground and have called the daughter’s home to save the ranch from having to be sold. Dad is still being a bully even with a bad heart. He is trying to force one daughter to marry for money. Blocking the head ranch hand who is actually working himself into the ground to save the ranch from having a romance with her. Amidst lots of drama amongst unlikeable characters the daughter saves the ranch. Some sex, but no need to skip it.

Janice finally gets her love with the foreman Nate that she’s been in love with for a long time. When their personalities clash and her father conspires to break them apart to have her marry a wealthy man to save the ranch, their relationship is strained. Can they hold onto their love or will everything else always come between them?

Smutty Language

I was enjoying this book until the love scene. It was a well written story with pleasant characters ...nothing special but a good read. Then came the love scene, abd the language shifted from pleasant to grossly graphic.

This felt like a cheap bait-and-switch. If you are oing to use very graphic laguage to describe something we all know, then use it from the beginning so a buyer knows what she is getting. This was a foul.

Janice Sullivan fled home after her sisters left and went on to Kentucky where she became a vet tech. When she fled home she left a part of her heart there with Nate Pierson the ranch foreman. When Janice gets a call from her father saying the ranch is in trouble and she needs to come home she must deal with her feelings for Nate again. You won't want to put this book down!

Saving the Ranch

Janice's father had called all three sisters home to try to save his ranch. Nate was working overtime in the same effort. Though he didn't like all the sister's ideas he would support Janice as well as he could. Her idea of a resort for people to get away and try ranching wasn't his first choice but he'd let her try to prove it.

not for me

Explicit sex scene, some crude speech, and a lot of wo is the farmers life. Got up to the sex scene and couldn’t be bothered finished it. Very very predictable, a lot of crankiness, surliness and debt thrown in, extended family. Emotions and emotions. Like I said, not for me.

Working on a loving relationship

Nate and Janice had loved each other since they were sixteen years old. As Nate was the foreman of the ranch it was difficult for him to proclaim his feelings for his employers daughter. Finally though they were able to admit that they loved each other and build a loving relationship between them.

Great ending to a series

I enjoyed Hate and Jamie's story and learning how they worked out the stumbling blocks with their relationship. It was also great to see how the 3 girls " grew up" and stood against their father in order to save the ranch.

I L❤️VE this series!

I loved each story in this series. I loved the girls and their men…but their Dad-what an a$$! I don’t think I could have kept my mouth shut like they did! How they could over look such a bully, I’ll never know-I guess that is why it’s called fiction!

Thoroughly enjoyable book after a few repetitive chapters. Had a lot of laughter with Frank, Nate and Janice’s behaviours. Didn’t want to put the book down.
