He’s my best friend, and I’ve had a crush on him since forever. But I know better than to let myself turn into a soppy puddle of feelings over him. He’s a drop-dead gorgeous dragon with women trailing around him like paparazzi. And I’m a plain Jane with a dragon-hating family. The thing is that we made a pact. If we’re both single by the time I’m thirty, we’ll have a baby together. Twins. Well, I just turned thirty, and he hasn’t forgotten. He wants me to be his surrogate, and he’ll be my donor. My mind is on fire, and the questions are haunting me. What will I do if he really wants to be my babies’ daddy? What will I do when he touches me like he owns me? What will I do … if he decides to mark me and our babies as his own?
Hi there! I’m Layla Silver, and I’m so happy to see you here :) I’m a mom of three adorable kids and after all these years, still wildly in love with my awesome and hard-working husband. I LOVE to write about hot shifters, whether Wolves, Bears, or Dragons, who are looking for their mates and will do anything to protect them no matter what comes their way. When I’m not writing or spending time with my family (which is pretty rare, but I’m not complaining!), I like to be in the mountains chasing paranormal dreams.

Let me start off by saying that I REALLY liked this book. I liked how the H and h made a pact when they first met. How they stayed close friends all these years even though her family hates Dragon shifters. I Loved how close Will was with his brother and how he accepted him and loved him no matter what. I also loved how Badass the h turned out to be and how she stands up for who she loves without hesitating.
But...
This book could have been 4.5 ⭐️’s for me if it wasn’t for the H past experience with OW being brought up all the time. Mind you, it’s all off page but It was distracting, annoying and not needed. I know Will wasn’t a virgin, hello, the guys 100yrs old but I don’t need to know that he’s good in bed because OW told him or that the h knows he’s a good kisser because she’s witnessed him kiss OW and it hurt her to watch. I started to question if the H and h had true feelings for each other. He talks about how he’s always wanted the h but then unintentionally hurts her by being with these women in front of her.
In all honesty this could have been ok if we knew how the H felt about the h past experiences. But it was only brought up once or twice and it was her thinking about it not him. It wasn’t till they officially became an item that I new their love for each other was real and they were true mates. Once that happened I was all in.
So yah... I would say this book is Safe with exception. There is no cheating. Everything that is mentioned (minus the H dancing with 2 women) was off page. Once the H and h were together they were all in and only thought of each other and no one else.
I may have made it sound bad but overall I really did enjoy it. This story got a reaction out of me and it made me feel for the characters. I even recommend it to all who like PNR. Just be prepared.
Happy Reading Everyone🖤

Setting aside the intricacies of shifter genetics, this book was an interesting take on the trope where lifelong friends make a pact with each other if they haven't already settled down by a certain age. The hero and heroine were so sweet together, and truly felt like longtime friends. Will was the right amount of protective/possessive towards Maia and their babies, and I admired how strong Maia was and how she stood up to her dragon-hating family, even before she and Will realized they were mates. That said, though, the story was kinda tedious to me, but only because I knew that Maia and Will each secretly liked each other, so I kept waiting for them to confess their feelings and just *ahem* kiss already. Also, I wasn't a fan of Will's initial plan to have twins with Maia and then split them up. Like, has he not seen either version of The Parent Trap?!
Purchased- March 25, 2020 Title: The Dragon’s Surrogate Series: Shifter Surrogate Agency #5 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Layla Silvers Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger #PRN #Dragon #Coyote 5Stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ •••••••••••••• 💢 This is really a fantastic book, fast easy read. Definitely a Must Read! 🔹️ Will Kent is a DragonShifter, since college he’s been in love withs one person who only wants to be friends she only wants to be friends. But once Maia turns thirty things change. Maia is a CoyoteShifter who family hate Dragon Shifters in fact they’re hunting for one. So how can Maia be with Will? ☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.
This is another wonderful feel good read and a great addition to his series
Will and Maia have been friends all their lives he is a dragon shifter and she is a coyote shifter and years ago they made a pact that if they reached the age of thirty and they where both still single they would have a child together Well that point has come and they use a surrogate service and Maia is now pregnant with twins The only thing is that there are starting to be feelings between them and that is a problem after all her family hates dragon shifters and a whole stack of family drama will be released Can they have a future together You will have to read to see
Wow what a well written book. Loved this brilliant characters two shifters from different species know they are mates but have never acted upon it. Maia’s parents who are coyote shifters hate dragons as there relations where killed by some and are after vengeance they think they know the family who killed them and attack Will when he comes to check on Maia as he is a relation to the dragons who killed there family member. Maia stands in and puts an end to explaining what Will’s family had done to those dragons and also telling them Will is his mate and she is pregnant with twins and they need to change if they are to see her and her babies.b
Terrible. He knows she’s his mate. But she’s seen him with so many floozies and seen him kiss so many that she knows he’ll be a good kisser. Disgusting. After he met her, he knew she was his mate and should have never been able to ever touch another woman without extreme discomfort. What is up with these “mate romances “ that have the guys screwing around with other even though they met their mate?! It’s wrong! It’s cheating! It ruins everything. It ruined their first kiss because she’s picturing all the women she’s SEEN his kiss. What a joke.
The Dragon’s Surrogate: Shifter Surrogate Agency Book 5 By Layla Silver Kindle unlimited purchase Will and Maia have made a pack, if neither one of them have a mate/baby by the time "she" turns 30 they will have one together. This book had a bit more action than the other books in the series but it was no SURPRISE it was going to go in that direction. The Wolf’s Surrogate The Bear’s Surrogate The Alpha’s Surrogate The Lion’ Surrogate The Dragon’s Surrogate
I so enjoyed every bit of this series however I will always have a special place in my heart for these two lovebirds. When friends turn lovers you never know what to expect. The storyline follows a history in both families that causes a bit of a Romeo and Juliet vibe. It was a wonderful story and it’s a quick and easy read.
The Dragon’s Surrogate is book five in the series Shifter Surrogate Agency by author Layla Silver. My favorite of the series- this one has it all a, drama, suspense, a bit of darkness and grittiness !! Oh and it’s deliciously spicy!! Enjoy!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is not your typical shifter alpha male and female with issues. Will and Maia didn't hate each other and argue. I loved their relationship as friends afraid to make a move for fear of ruining that relation. The only thing I would have like to see was Will's parents meeting Maias.
The angst of love and how long it can take to find out that there is love. Communication is sometimes they are both having problems with until there is trouble then of course there is true love.
Wow! What an interesting story. The plot was well developed as were the characters in the story. I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more of the stories about other surrogates and their babies.
Maia and Will were going to be a good couple just because they loved one another but were afraid to let one another know. Seems like shifters share human issues, huh. Anyway, this was a very entertaining story.
The drama of becoming mates with your best friend, combining two different shifter(coyate & dragon)! Perfect ending to your the surrogate agency series.
Romantic story of overcoming prejudices realizing and owning up to ones feelings and having the courage to face them and express them to the ones who need to hear it.
