Who says there's no dating in the afterlife?
Saoirse Sullivan is not your average 38-year-old ghost. For one thing, she's also afraid of other ghosts, which means instead of doing the haunting, she has to worry about being haunted. But things get a whole lot interesting when she meets Hadrian, a gorgeous living creature with the rare ability to interact with ghosts like her. From being the mind-her-own-business type of ghost, Saoirse suddenly finds herself thrust into a whirlwind of murder, mayhem, and magic, juggling her time between battling poltergeists, chasing after a missing subject of Tartarus, and dating a smoldering-hot bounty hunter of Hell.

So, a little about me: I'm a single girl in her late thirties, sufficiently pretty to turn heads, but to tell you the truth, it's my incredible personality that keeps guys interested (jerks like my ex don't count). Also, I'm dead. Rather, I'm a ghost. But don't worry, I'm not the type that likes to haunt the daylights out of the living. I'm more the mind-my-own-business type, the kind you won't notice even when I'm sitting right next to you. And that's how my life has been the past few months, just your average wandering soul (literally)...until one day, this incredibly off-the-charts hot guy walks into my life, and...well... That's when things got really good. Like dangerously catch-your-breath-if-I-were-still-breathing kind of good. And bad. Like more-people-turning-up-dead kind of bad. But mostly, good.

Note: This is a companion novel to A Season of Gods and Witches. It has murder, mystery, and mayhem, along with a hot and heavy romance between two consenting adults. Magical happy ever after guaranteed!
The beginning is confusing then the female character is chasing an unknown man up multiple flights of stairs because he was “so hot” then lying as to why she was following him then she’s aggressively throwing herself at him because he’s “so hot” and next thing she’s in his car quickly making sexual advances to this “so hot” total stranger who seems completely amused by her idiocy. Yuck. Her reasoning is that now that she is not in her more restrained 20s or 30s she can. Omg, when did middle age become an excuse for impulsive regression to adolescence? I didn’t find anything admirable, interesting, funny or sexy so I quit reading. Argh, that was not a good suggestion for me, Kindle Unlimited. Next...
Right from the first page, I absolutely loved this book! The snarky humor was exactly what I crave! Saoirse Sullivan is not a typical ghost. She doesn’t do the haunting thing, and in fact, is afraid of other ghosts! But she meets a really handsome man named Hadrian, and is amazed that he can see her and touch her while not being a ghost himself! Even better, she can touch him too! He just commented to her discovery that he was different – not dead, but different. Her interview of him was hilarious! Their repartee was perfect! She will only date him if he has a job – and he doesn’t want to tell her what his job is, although she does warn him that criminal activity is not considered a valid career choice.
As they continued talking, because Saoirse had no one to talk to for months and was eager to ask a million questions, Hadrian drove them to Silver Mist Hospital. That immediately set Saoirse’s nerves on edge since everyone knows that [other] ghosts love hanging around hospitals! As she asked Hadrian what they were doing, he explained that someone had escaped from Tartarus, a section of Hell, and he was here to find out who.
Apparently Saoirse’s being the “mind-her-own-business” type of ghost, she will be finding herself pulled into murder, mayhem, magic, battling poltergeists, chasing after a missing subject of Tartarus (her first adventure), and dating the sexy Hadrian, the man who turns out to be a smoldering-hot bounty hunter of Hell! This is going to be a fantastic story line for the reader! I grinned from the first page and never stopped! Wonderful book!
This is an unusual take on a ghost love story at least it was for me. Saoirse is a ghost , who’s afraid of other ghosts and while she would like to have some pals being attacked by other ghosts has made her even more leery. Then a hunky human male, Hadrian who can see her and touch her seems to be the answer to her loneliness.
Saoirse’s passing into the afterlife was pretty low key, so as far as she knows she has no unfinished business on earth to take care of to explain why she can’t move on. Hadrian is a member of CSI Circe Security Initiative that handles crimes perpetrated with the aid of magic. He treats Saoirse quiet lovely and his courtliness at times makes me smile.
The book moves at a fairly good pace, once you figure out how Saoirse uses her “Dear Diary” blurbs at the beginning of the chapters you start getting the rhythm of the story. Although the story is only told from Saoirse’s POV I was still able to connect with both characters and enjoy their interactions.
There are a few things that are a little murky like while Saoirse says her ex is not nice, there is a scene where she goes back to see him that strikes a chord at the heart strings. A little more info on Hadrian would have also been nice and the wrap up of the case was a little confusing, despite those little things the story is still fun and quirky enough to keep you smiling and you get warm tingles from the relationship with these two.

Saoirse Sullivan was a thirty-eight-year-old woman/ghost. She was dead for only a few months and she was scared of the other fellow ghosts. She had died in her apartment which she was currently haunting and that's where she met the Tall, Dark and Handsome Hadrian. He was the first person who could see and talk to her which excited her, an added bonus was the fact that she was super attracted to him. He explained to her what his mission was and she offered to help him. Saoirse became the Watson to his Homes and when they were home she was his lady. During the investigation she learned a lot about the Underworld, she had some bad incidents with other supernatural creatures and she found out why she was stuck on earth.
Hell Meet Haunted is a fun supernatural short romance. The plot is nice, it has this mystery element that captures your attention. It's like a combination of a crime and a light funny romantic novella. It can be a bit confusing at times if you are not used to this genre and know nothing about the Greek myths. I loved the characters especially Saoirse, she was so sweet and awkward. My favorite part was the ending, it was a huge surprise to me. I enjoyed reading this and I will rate it with 5 stars.
Mr. Hell, Meet Ms. Haunted is the first novel(la) in the Midlife Goddess series by Marian Tee/Alice Bloome.
I really need to stop reading such short books. Just call it a novella next time. If you’re not going to expand on the given plot, don’t torture me with the promise of answers mkay? Can’t commit to 3🌟 merely for the potential. All while being trivial and cliche, there’s so much unturned in these pages. Why not capitalize on the full potential of the plot? Entirely too fast-paced in such a manner to completely rush and ignore social cues?
Ugggghhh. Having read Kristy Cunning’s The Dark Side series I have manifested a major soft spot for incorporeal-hell-roms. That’s what pulled me in here. I enjoyed the idea of FMC and her beau but there’s a distinct disconnect. Utterly lacking in realism. It annoys me when there are so many short novels in a series that would have made more sense as a single book, or at least consolidated. That seems to be the case yet again. Should have expected it since the Robyn Patterson’s book is what referred me to these pages.
Also if you’re going to stress the characters midlife and 30-year-old age, please for the love of all that is holy do not make her insufferably naive? Cool? Cool.
Oh, yikes, this was... this was not good. The whole premise sounded super enticing, and I appreciate all the snarky humor. While it moves along faster than I’d like, I’m ok with it because it’s a super short little book. Problem is... the MC is a major airhead. I mean, I’m pretty sure I’ve met a few rocks with more intellect. She’s more like a 20 yo than a 38 yo, and that’s generous. And then there are the misspellings (that’s Holmes not Homes, darling, you can’t reference a loved literary character and spell his name wrong), and mispronunciations that signal a book that wasn’t well researched, and very definitely poorly edited. I want to like this. I really do, I like the premise, but it’s just not well done at all.
I've read many series in the paranormal women's fiction genre that are mysteries but this book is a mixture of the sexual explicit romance and cozy mystery. Personally, I'm not a fan of reading about someone's sexual encounters often in a book but I realize some are but it does not fit the relatively new women's fiction genre for me. I just skip over those sections and they pool Soccur often in this book. The book was wonderful if 25% was not detailed sexual encounters but that's not my cup of tea. The mystery plot is well executed with likeable characters and great writing.
Saoirse Sullivan died from an aunyrism when she was 38 - and now she is a ghost. But she is afraid of ghosts! When Hadrian sees her, he takes her under his wing - and more. She tries to help him solve a case he is working on - and nearly comes to harm several times - he saves her, but what or who is he really? He calls her his girlfriend - can she really find the true love that eluded her in life now that she is dead? This story is kinda dark, and very kinda cute - I loved it!

A steamy version of Randell and Hopkirk (Deceased) (A UK TV programme) where theres a ghost and his (or in this case hers) partner investigating cases whilst having plenty of funny moments & sexy ones too. Recently deceased ghost Saoirse (FMC) finds out a lot more about her next door neighbour Hadrian apart from the fact he can see her & hes hot!! The banter with these two characters had me cracking up at times. A light-hearted, quirky, funny read and i enjoyed reading it so much. Hopefully this is not the end of Saoirse and Hadrian?? Id happily read more about these two
This was an adorable little story that plates with the idea of Christian beliefs meeting ancient Greek ones. It is almost like the author asked the question what would happen if a newbie ghost were to meet one of the oldest beings ever to exist while constantly making one liners to have their relationship work.
I really enjoyed this story and hope that future stories will be written about these characters.

The story is cute. The book however is kind of confusing and has some editing mistakes. It isn't until the end of the last chapter that the story makes sense and then its like oh...ok that's why. The explanation of what happened in Tartarus is still a bit confusing but simplisticly speaking may have cleared that up. She definitely knows how to write a good story, I just wasn't able to be pulled into this story and I hope book two is less confusing since the basics have been laid out in one.
It's an interesting idea for a story, unfortunately it isn't written well at all. The actual details are juvenile - teen movie meets bad, fanfic-style erotica. The authors have also ignored the ever-important "show, don't tell" part of writing that even the most newbie author should know. The plot is needlessly convoluted, the protagonist vacuous and sophomoric, the main guy completely two-dimensional at best. The many typos and grammatical errors are the icing on this dreadful cake. Just... no.
I used not to be a paranormal book's fan but Marian changed my mind !! Those short stories of hers are a lot of fun !! Who the hell ;-P will think that a ghost book will be fun !! Marian of course ! She is reinventing herself and her fans are the winners, you can bet on it !! This one is about a ghost hunter and a ghost that fall in love ! Yep !! Believe! You can find love in hell, heaven and earth !
This book was a little confusing to me. Saoirse dread and meets a charming man. They instantly hit it off. Especially since he repels ghosts and she’s terrified of them. They investigate a soul who escaped Tartarus. It had drama and action and romance. The whole soul swapping many times was confusing. It was a really short book and quick read. It’s my first time reading this author

This was my first read by this author and I loved every single page of this story! There is humor, suspense and banter, that brings the characters to life. The story held my interest throughout along with some unexpected twists. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend you give it a read you won't be disappointed.

I was looking for something fluffy, and this novella is certainly that. Insta-love urban fantasy romcom with a supernatural bounty hunter and world-building drawn from Greek mythology. Was breezy fun, but a throw-away line hinting at the narrator's possible homophobia pulled me out of the story somewhat, and the wrap-up of the non-romance plot seemed abrupt. (Presumably, it's setting up the next novella.)
1st off, I absolutely love the Disney Hercules references that constantly offend Hadrian. When he mentions the fates to her w/a warning look, I love how she recounts how she knows about said fates by some movie she saw back then as a kid. Lol which is hysterical lol
Awww! This was such a sweet & definitely new take of soem Greek mythology. Saroise & Hadrian are sooo sweet. & I love that saorise, a ghost, is afraid of ghosts. Lol
I found this book to be enjoyably entertaining to read. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. The story flow was great. I laughed throughout the book. Looking forward to more, whether it's as Marian Tee or as Alice Bloome.

This was a cute story! Saoirse is a ghost at the ripe old age of 38 and finds herself drawn to Mr Tall Dark and Handsome when she sees him in her apartment building. And then she realizes he can actually see her. The book was fun and I look forward to more about Hadrian and Saoirse!
This was as little disjointed, I felt like I sort of bounced into the middle of a story without begin properly introduced. So, a little odd. The ending , the wrap up to the mystery, was super fast, and slightly bizarre. I did enjoy reading it, as different as it was. Up to you.
Enjoyable piece of comedy. A great twist on paranormal romance and mythology which was a laughable book to read. The heroine was humurous and the hero perfectly masculine in the old-fashioned way we love in stories but not in real life. Except for the sex. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
When I started reading I couldn't put it down.Marian Tee is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.
The author has taken us to places, that I for one, have never been to before. The story keeps your interest so that you continue to turn the pages to see where Hadrian and Saoirse will end up.

Really enjoyed reading this. Has a few laughs and unexpected moments. I'm a devoted fan of Marian Tee, but knowing that as Alice Blooms she writes paranormal romance, I feel I've just reached heaven. Thanks so much.
Well this was a thoroughly enjoyable story with magic, mayhem, murder, heat, chemistry, mystery, intrigue and paranormal elements. Engaging characters and a captivating storyline!!! Saoirse and Hadrain were a treat to read!!
WOW! This is a new to me author and so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give this story a try. I have to say that I actually enjoyed it. It was different and unexpected. I am definitely going to continue on to books 2 & 3. Thank you!
This is a super cute story, really liked Saorise and Hadrian. Any chance of more case solving adventures from these two? Will definitely be reading more of this author.
Not fair to call this Paranormal Women's Fiction. Every book I've read in this genre keeps the sex PG. The storyline is way to simple and the sex way to explicit. It has promise but as it stands I'm not rushing to get book 2
