His creative versatility was born of a passion for both intellect and imagination, both left-brain and right-brain. The result: Brian is an artisan of word, image, and story that engages heart, mind, and soul. Just think, "Renaissance Man."
The best out of this series. Godawa's research is extensive and a wealth of knowledge here. It is impressive and shows in this series, especially in this last novel.
Loved this series better than Chronicles of the Nephilim, the prequel series to this one.
I cannot complain about Godawa's novels. Sure, some of his takes on these are controversial to some, but he presents a very convincing case in all of them.
His novels are a valuable asset to eschatological fiction, apologetics and basics of Christianity. I have learnt so much from reading both series.
I pray he continues to write novels like this.
Valuable tools/resources for the Kingdom of God and for those seeking Him.
Judgment: Wrath of the Lamb concludes Godawa's four book Chronicles of the Apocalypse series. After a quick transition through events following the last novel, Vespasian is Emperor, and Titus is poised to take Jerusalem. The Watchers in the unseen realm are granted success on at least their destruction of Jerusalem, but the fate of the Christian community in Pella and whether anyone will survive within Jerusalem is uncertain. Godawa does an excellent job keeping the reader guessing and engaged. I found I was continuously surprised at the events not matching my expectations, making this the most fun read and a very fitting end of the series.
As with the previous installments, there is a substantial appendix full of notes and references. I really enjoy the level of detail given to the historical and religious perspectives, as it gives the story a lot more sense of reality (especially when half the characters exist in the spiritual realm).
Amazing!! Whether you are reading the series as just fiction or as a Christian you have a great reading experience. The storyline is exceptional and the characters are real life. But, the research that has gone into the books is phenomenal. You really come away understanding the times of this era as well as the Roman viewpoint and culture and the Jewish perspective. For me the Jewish perspective is harder even though I have been reading the bible all my life and taken so many studies. This series has taught me so much more and I now see the Apocalypse differently.
I learned so much from this series of books, both spiritually/biblically and historically. I have a firsthand understanding now of what it was like to be a Jew and Christian in the first century. I may not agree 100% with everything Brian Godawa purports theologically, but his perspectives are eye opening and made me look at Revelation in a new way that I had never known or thought of before, and which makes a lot of sense to me! Definitely worth reading, as are all his books I've read so far.
Book 4 of the Chronicles of the Apocalypse really brought the story full circle and tied everything together beautifully. It was easy to read. It was exciting. It made great sense of the Book of Revelation. As I said in a previous review, these chronicles put a new twist onto understanding the prophecies in Revelations. I had never thought that all of this was directed towards the people who lived right after Christ, not those in some far off future. It really does make much more sense this way.
I’ve enjoyed this book! I downloaded it the first day it was available. Just like BG’s other books, I learned a lot. Having read all of the nephilum series, I’ve now compleated the Apocalypse series. Well worth the read...every one of them. Lots & lots of enlightenment throughout the books. It amazes me the research that went into theses publications. The end notes & comments there were especially helpful.
Godawa does a fine job wrapping up the series. He manages to be quiet creative in mixing his characters into the known historical details of the siege of Jerusalem. As I have mentioned in my reviews for the previous books in this series, the value in these books is not in the character development (which is satisfactory but nothing special), but in the heavy historical and theological research behind every scene.
What if? The end is not the way we've been taught in church? What if? Shouldn't we consider that just maybe the Word of God has been interpreted through the eyes of men? And maybe there are other ways to perceive the Lord's will? Oh the possibilities...we need to be mindful, inquisitive and thread carefully. Always remembering that we need to be guidd by the Spirit of God.
Biblical characters and fictional characters are so fluid. Exceptional.
What an incredible story. I was moved by this series. There is something very special about Brian Godawa. His biblical research is second to none The unique characters are so real and the mix between Biblical characters and fictional characters is so fluid .Ee Its an exceptional work. I'm looking forward to more of Godawa's writing.
This was a awesome book I enjoyed reading and studies each scriptures each character and how it relates to the Bible Book one was great and Book two was great Brian i can't expect nothing greater than the best thank you so much on these books and may God truly Bless you
This collection of books about the Bible and the end times has done more for me as a believer than all of my previous studies of over 55 years. Trying to understand Revelations is mind boggling and these really helped. In this world, times are definitely getting weirder than any times before. Get ready, Yahweh is coming!!!
I am a fan of Brian Godawa's historical fiction. I will add we are not in agreement in theology but I still enjoy the books and learn a lot. This series has been great so far, but this book seemed a bit drawn out. Could be I want to see how he captures the last 3.5 years and am impatient. I do intend to read Book 3, and I think its worth reading this series.
If you have trouble understanding the Bible then this is the series for you. Although it is written as fiction it is based on facts. The author has definitely done his research. I was so caught up in this entire series of four books that I read it in a week. Lost much sleep, but it was well worth it.
Good finale to this historical/fantasy version of the Book of Revelation! Not fantasy as in fake but as in a glimpse into the spiritual realm to see what happens behind what happens in the physical! Great story and great writing!! Highly recommended
Thought provoking and interesting. In have enjoyed the series. Looking forward to more books from the same author. All of his books are worthy of your time to read.
This series was very good. Godawa pulls no punches in his storytelling but it is worth it. I would recommend this work to anyone with an interest in end times prophecy.
Amazing author, and awesome writing to bring the fictional story out of the truth of history. I loved the footnotes that backed up the story. I read the chronicles of the neon join first which led straight to these books. I look forward to reading more by Bris.
I really enjoyed this series. It is historical and religious fiction at its finest. If you never considered a preterist approach to the book of Revelation, try reading this series. You may wind up considering it
Absolutely loved this book. Good verses evil, love God love people. Really hope to see this story as a movie one day for the folks that cannot read. Best wishes to the author for continued success.
