Judgment: Wrath of the Lamb concludes Godawa's four book Chronicles of the Apocalypse series. After a quick transition through events following the last novel, Vespasian is Emperor, and Titus is poised to take Jerusalem. The Watchers in the unseen realm are granted success on at least their destruction of Jerusalem, but the fate of the Christian community in Pella and whether anyone will survive within Jerusalem is uncertain. Godawa does an excellent job keeping the reader guessing and engaged. I found I was continuously surprised at the events not matching my expectations, making this the most fun read and a very fitting end of the series.
As with the previous installments, there is a substantial appendix full of notes and references. I really enjoy the level of detail given to the historical and religious perspectives, as it gives the story a lot more sense of reality (especially when half the characters exist in the spiritual realm).
