Under Christmas Stars is book five in the Woodlea series by Alissa Callen. Woodlea school Freya George was with a friend when a wheat truck crushed into her schoolhouse, leaving her homeless. On hearing this news, Drew Macgregor offered her to stay at his place, which surprised Drew and the town. However, Freya George wanted to ensure the Woodlea community had a fantastic Christmas and decided to organise a Mailbox decorating competition. Drew Macgregor does not enjoy Christmas, but for his goddaughter Hattie, he agrees. Would Freya and Drew forget about their past and fall in love? The readers of Under Christmas Stars will continue to follow Drew Macgregor and Freya George to discover what happens.
Under Christmas Stars is a fantastic, sweet novella that will make you smile and forget your worries. I enjoy how Alissa Callen highlights the importance of small communities getting together to help the community recover from grief in a way that allows me to understand their grief. I like Alissa Callen's portrayal of her characters and the way they interact with each other throughout this book. Under Christmas Stars was well-written and researched by Alisson Callen. I like Alisson Callen's description of the settings of Under Christmas Stars, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
I recommend this book.

All too short. A lovely little bush Christmas romance.
Freya and Drew are thrown together in Drew’s homestead when Freya’s house is damaged from a truck driving into it.
Drew doesn’t want a relationship or anything that will take his concentration off his farming legacy. Freya doesn’t want another relationship, due to her fiancé cheating on her at the last Christmas party.
Freya left the city to live in Woodlea and teach at the school, not for a new relationship.
Some of the other characters of the Woodlea series are mentioned in this book.

Another sweet novella in the Woodlea series. This time Flora's turn to find Drew. Of course Edna is to the forefront airing her opinions and seeing about the gossip in the town. Some of the previous characters make small cameo appearances. A pleasant listen with the narrator doing her usual good job.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful tale.
I didn't realise it was #5 in a series, but it read perfectly fine stand alone.
In saying that, I will certainly be looking out for the other 4 books in the series so I can read more about the wonderful friends Freya has made.

3.5 stars. A great short story. Characters well developed in the short space and the rural setting just adds to the romanticism of the plot. Highly recommended.

Although a predictable story line, I found this book to be an enjoyable and easy relaxing read.

What a lovely novella this was! 'Under Christmas Stars' by Alissa Callen is the 5th book in the Woodlea series, but it could definitely be read as a standalone. I read this book as an audiobook in 2 days and really enjoyed it. After I had finished it, my physical copy from the library arrived and I realised it was in a book that comprised of multiple novellas by various Australian authors which was cool to see. I will definitely re borrow this book closer to Christmas and read the rest of the novellas.

It was quite a short story but it still introduced new characters to one of my favourite book series without feeling like the story was progressing too quickly to follow it. I would have loved a longer story but it was another great Woodlea story with hopefully more to come
