I've said it a hundred times or more, I love journaling. Whether it's a lined blank book to record my thoughts, or a book of prompts, quotes, and memes that prime me to examine my thoughts and emotions, journals are an important pastime for me.
I'm all into positivity, so the title Positive Thinking grabbed my attention. I am enjoying the way this book promotes healthy thinking, and ways to identify and reshape negative thoughts.
With oodles of introspective prompts, quotes, affirmations, and writing space, this book is a wonderful way to embrace positivity and create a healthy and encouraging perspective each day.

This guided journal gives prompts for maintaining a positive attitude and managing difficult emotions. It is full encouraging quotes that are thoughtful and uplifting!
The layout of this book is not quite what I expected. It is laid out with one section for each of the 52 weeks, with one activity, journal prompt, or meditation to do each week. Week 1 is a journal prompt with some space for writing in a list of attributes and characteristics about yourself, and the encouragement to re-frame any negative thoughts about yourself into positive and compassionate thoughts. Week 2 is a prompt to draw a decorative mantra or affirmation of your choosing, and there is a breathing exercise to try.
Each week switches between a writing prompt, and a drawing prompt and meditation. Most of the writing prompts are lists, and I DO love a good list! The drawing prompts vary from doodling your own fingerprint to drawing an abstract that represents your future. My favorite is the one that says to draw yourself as a strong tree, because that is the only thing I can draw... trees.
The design used on the cover is used throughout the book on the week title pages with inspirational quotes for each week, and on the meditation pages. The journal pages have blank lines to write on, and the drawing pages have plenty of blank space for coloring and doodling. I really love how the book is arranged!
I think this book would really help someone to take a moment of reflection and embrace a positive attitude!

This book contains prompts for weekly writing that are supposed to guide you toward more positive thinking. There are things like creative prompts for writing or drawing, mindful journaling ideas, and more. For instance: “List something you are grateful for today, something you enjoy today and something you will improve on today. If you can, make this short list every day this week and see if your outlook changes, even if just a little, by the end of the week.” There are also positive affirmations you can read and/or repeat. They are thoughtful and can lift your spirits. And there is a decent resource page at the end.
What I liked: Each week is different from the previous and the next. They switch between drawing/doodling, writing, or making lists (yay! I love lists). There are even breathing exercises to try. All fifty-two are encouraging and designed to help you feel good about yourself.
What I didn’t like: If I had to say anything, it would be that I wish the book was in some sort of more flexible binding to make writing and drawing in it easier. But that is such a minor thing. The book itself is very well done.
Recommendation: Definitely recommended for anyone seeking to feel better about themselves and their world. I’ll be purchasing some copies for gifts.

This book is a fantastic reminder to be positive each day it contains prompts for weekly writing that are designed to guide you toward more positive thinking.
I will be honest I don't journal but I really loved reading the daily reminders and I found looking at this first thing in the morning. (I also personally decided to look up favorite scriptures) This morning reflection has really helped me stay centered and positive.
There are prompts for both writing, drawing ( I do love to draw so I doodle thru these ideas and it's very relaxing), mindful journal ideas, and more. I feel there is something for everyone when it comes to personal reflection and even though I have not incorporated everything I have found calm and peace in what I have chosen. I feel this book is very thoughtful and can lift your spirits.
This book isn't bound to be very flexible so I feel drawing and writing in it would be difficult. It doesn't bother me. I keep a sketch pad nearby but be aware you may want to have a separate journal or drawing pad to keep with the book as you work through it. Also many print shops will put a spiral binding on it if preferred. I looked into it and the average cost was $8-12 depending on the store. Ultimately I just decided to use a separate sketch pad because it suited my purposes better.
I definitely recommended this book for anyone wanting uplifting inspiration.

What a gorgeous book! I haven't worked my way through the whole thing yet, but the prompts are of a good variety. Sometimes they ask you to write stuff, and sometimes you get to draw stuff. I like the writing ones better because the drawing ones can get a little overly sentimental, but I guess that's the point of the book. This would be a good gift, I think, maybe with a nice pen or something. I don't know how long it will take me to get through the whole thing because I keep forgetting to come back to it each week, but it's a really pretty book and something I recommend if you're looking for a good positive thinking practice.
Thank you very much to Callisto Publishers for providing me with a copy. A review was not required.
Positive Thinking is a 52-week journal that through affirmations, quotes, journaling prompts and meditation helps the reader focus on positivity. Each week also has an activity (some journal like, some meditative, some artistic) to help strengthen the positive mindset.
I love the affirmations and quotes used by the author! I also appreciate that she points out that while the human brain is hardwired to focus on negativity (danger) as a built-in safety feature, we can learn to change our focus towards positive thinking and reactions.
My appreciation to Rock Ridge Press who allowed me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
This is just not the journal for me. I didn’t really care for many of the prompts and exercises. I also felt that many of the prompts didn’t really acknowledge that it’s okay to have negative emotions and/or how to address them in a way that doesn’t sweep them under the rug. Some things aren’t positive experiences and you just have to find a way to let them go, but trying to *make* them positive isn’t always an option. Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t really like this book and I’ll be passing it along to someone else.

This journal contains 52 prompts so you can do one per week for a year. Each has an inspirational quote or affirmation and one activity prompt. The activities include writing, drawing, and making lists. The book has very nice cool, calming purples and blues with some accents, so it sets a great tone for getting into a positive mindset. One of the biggest ideas the author stresses in the beginning is that positive thinking takes practice. This book is great for encouraging and guiding this practice.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not influence my review.
