A HUGE TENTACLE DILDO. imagine, ursula and prince eric and ariel and tentacle dildos.
I adore this series, and it's been almost a year since I last read book four which I enjoyed very much.
This was insta-love done right. This whole book spans over four days and they say "I love you"s during Day 3. But everything is drawn out that it doesn't really seem like it's that quick.
Anyway, with all the books of Katee, I appreciate how diverse her characters are. White, Black, Asian, Latino. Skinny, muscular, lean, plus-size. Hetero couples, lesbian ones, gay couples, a throuple— poly. What I appreciated most was how she enunciates how easy it is to use "they/them" pronouns for nonbinary people or how to respect people's preferred pronouns in general.
I. Love. It! Katee is a Queen, love her to death. She might honestly be my favourite smut author, she balances sex with plot that I get invested in the relationship.
But to be honest, this might be my least favorite book of this series. Don't get me wrong I loved all characters and the steam? These three did nothing but fuuuuuuucckkk!
BUT... but, I felt like both Zuri and Alaric had more connection to Ursa individually than they did with each other. It wasn't a very well balanced scale and I was thrown off by that honestly 🤷
Still, the next book is FF, buzzing to finally read about Aurora and Mal 😄 if you don't mind I'll be over here: dancing in sapphic, babbbyyyyyy

This. I’m not sure what happened with this book. It took me forever to read it because it was so boring. I wasn’t even invested in the steamy scenes to be honest. The whole Zuri is so innocent and naive wasn’t for me so I just may be an individual that doesn’t care for the “innocent” heroine. I wanted more background related to Ursa. I was excited to get a curvy Black lead, but her character development fell so flat and didn’t always make sense. I’m not sure how readers were supposed to see her as this hard ass and then all of sudden (literally in days) she’s getting mushy and begins professing her love. The pacing of it wasn’t right so I didn’t find it particularly believable. And honestly, I didn’t care for the three of them together. It felt like an awkward situation and the chemistry never worked out the way that I expected it to. Honestly, it felt a little too insta-love me. And the big build up about Zuri’s father was a mess. There was so much supposed tension between him and Ursa, but Zuri fixes it in a couple of paragraphs. I kept asking what was the purpose of all that build up if it was so easy to resolve. I’ll be continuing the final book, but this is probably going to go down as my least favorite in the series.

I can't deny that Ursula is my favorite vilan even if the Ariel movies in general isn't my favorite and that I keep picking books by Katee Robert up randomly depending on what characters I'm intrigued to read about. I loved the Ursa she was fun and spicy and I liked Zora(? I'm bad at remember names) that she was more softer. While poly relationship can be fun to read about I found Alaric rather pale in the comparison of the two women. A fun quick audiobook and intrigued to listen to more from Katee Robert

I wanted to love this book. I went into it thinking it had potential to become my favorite, even. But then Katee Robert created this unforgivable situation and things went down from there.
Ursa, one of the territory leaders of Carver City, wants to get her revenge on Triton, Poseidon’s second-in-command. Decades ago, she had to leave Dark Olympus to escape from him, and she’s been planning her revenge ever since.
In order to do that, she sends her submissive/sort-of-boyfriend, Alaric, to Dark Olympus to seduce Triton’s youngest daughter Zuri.
Alaric spends several weeks at Dark Olympus, meeting Zuri in secret and playing into the illusion of falling in love with her. Then, he confesses he has to go back to Carver City, because he has a contract with Hades and has been working at his Underworld club for the last 8 years in order to pay his debt.
What he forgets to tell Zuri is that he ended up at Hades’ door, seeking his help, because he was trying to escape from Triton, her father. And that he’s doing all this for revenge.
Weeks later, Ursa sends a message to Zuri saying she can help her free Alaric. So Zuri, believing she’s in love with him, fleets her home and travels to Carver City. Upon meeting Ursa, she informs Zuri that her only option is to auction her virginity at the Underworld club and use the money to pay for Alaric’s debt with Hades.
Zuri has lived a very sheltered life up till now. Her father kept all his daughter under lock at home for their own good. So even if she’s 23, she’s very innocent and naive. She’s obviously scared and nervous, but she decides to go through with it because she loves Alaric.
And during her auction, Ursa surprises everyone by winning the auction. And it’s only afterwards that Zuri finds out that Ursa and Alaric are a couple, and that they have worked together to use her to free him and fuck with her father.
At this point, I was disgusted with both Ursa and Alaric but things only got worse when Ursa refused to acknowledge what she had done to Zuri was wrong. She went as far as to say Zuri had made her choice freely, and that life was hard and it was about time Zuri learned her lesson, basically.
Alaric wasn’t that much better. Sure, he felt guilty, but at the same time he thought he wouldn’t change anything that he had done. And excused his behavior in saying that he’s selfish and an asshole and everyone should know better than to trust him.
What a pair of narcissist assholes.
But the cherry on top was Zuri. Spineless, no personality or self-esteem Zuri. She cries a little and feels betrayed, sure. But still, she chooses to stay and have sex with both of them… because she can’t help herself. The way they beat her and she went and asked for seconds was baffling to me. The way she supposedly fell in love with both of them IN TWO DAYS time was just ridiculous, too.
If this wasn’t enough, their D/a dynamic was weird af to me. Alaric wanted to be Ursa’s submissive 24/7, with no autonomy to do anything whatsoever unless Ursa said so. Even Zuri was like “uh I’m not sure I want the same”! The way Ursa treated them felt more like pets or objects, than real humans. Even at the end, when she has a small moment where she opens up and says she loves them, she was still acting odd. I think she’s my least favorite character in the whole series so far. Well, the three of them, really.
I’m so disappointed ☹️

Sigh... This could have been so much better.
The fifth book in the Wicked Villains series, this centres around Zurielle, an Olympian princess and daughter of Triton; Ursa, a Carver City territory leader known as the Sea Witch who was exiled from Olympus by none other than.. you guessed Zurielle's father; and Alaric, an Underworld worker who Zurielle is in love with.
At the start of the book, Zuri travels to Carver City after receiving a message from the Sea Witch that she can reunite her with her former love, Alaric. Zuri has lived a very sheltered life and has never even ventured out of Olympus. Upon meeting Ursa, she finds herself drawn to the territory leader. The Sea Witch offers Zuri a deal: auction her virginity at the Underworld and use the money to free Alaric from Hades' bargain.
The young girl is eager to help her love out and quickly agrees. So imagine her surprise when Ursa wins the auction..
If this book had just been about Zuri and Ursa, it would have been 5 stars. I didn't like Alaric at all, and I didn't feel Zuri and Ursa really liked or cared about him once we got into it. He could have easily been dropped out or sent packing so we could focus on the relationship between Zuri and Ursa. I would have preferred that very muchly. .
Here's hoping Queen Takes Rose is better!

The decision could either free her or chain her to just another life.
The Little Mermaid is one of my all-time favorite fairytales so I have been looking forward to this one. I enjoyed the author’s take on the story especially the FFM dynamic. However, I wanted to feel more connections with and between the characters which would have made the sex even hotter.
I loved that Ursa was a female leader with personal vs. professional dilemmas. I liked Alaric deviousness but would love to see more of it. Zuri might be innocent, but she’s willing to put herself on the line for others.
The Sea Witch is a tale of sacrifice and taking chances. It would appeal to readers who enjoy fairytale based Erotic Romance.

I can’t believe this is book five already in the Wicked Villains series. Only one more to come after this one (I think) and that just makes me feel a tiny bit sad. But let’s talk about the book. I loved it so much, which did not come as a surprise at all because I’ve loved everything I’ve read by this author so far. The second book, Learn My Lesson, will always be my favorite in this particular series but The Sea Witch is getting very close to it. It had enemies to lovers + revenge and I’m just such trash for it.
Ursa, Alaric and Zurielle, those three… Ugh! They just had the perfect chemistry together. They each had their own trust issues, especially with each other. I liked how slowly but surely they overcame those as they spend more and more time together.
All the books in this series are hot as fuck but I’ve got the say that this one was probably the hottest. Or maybe they just get hotter and hotter as the series goes on because I might have said this about every Wicked Villains book. It’s still true, though!
Another thing I enjoyed was seeing several of the characters from the previous books and also the ones that’ll be featured in the next one. I liked seeing the scene being slowly set up for Aurora and Malone’s story, which I can’t wait to read. I’ve been super excited to read about them especially.

Unfortunately, this was my least favorite of the Wicked Villains novels (so far).
I think it was a mix of things:
1. Revenge plots aren’t my favorite, along with tropes like fortune hunters and fake identities, because they involve lying. While the revenge plot was quick to be revealed so Zuri was aware of the betrayal quickly, it doesn’t change the fact that the base of their relationship was that Alaric tricked Zuri into loving him, and then he/Ursa tricked her into auctioning off her virginity. That’s major league messed up.
2. Zuri spent a few weeks with Alaric months before the start of the book. Alaric/Ursa have been “dating” for a while. But Zuri/Ursa don’t meet until the start of this book, and Zuri/Alaric aren’t honest with each other until the revenge plot is revealed. So their entire “relationship” happens within a few days. In every other book in the series so far, there has been existing relationships - except with Hercules, as he was added onto Meg/Hades’ 10 year long relationship. I couldn’t buy into the quick insta-love.
3. Ursa spent most of the book completely unsure of her feelings for Alaric. And even in the privacy of her mind, she didn’t *think* that she was in love with him and wanted him forever, she just thought that she couldn’t trust him. Then she randomly did a 180 on her emotions for both Alaric and Zuri.
I think if the book was about Ursa/Zuri or Ursa/Alaric I could’ve bought it more but something was missing in the triad relationship dynamics for me.

this is a series of seven books (6 actual novels plus a collection of short stories and additional scenes) and I am not even gonna tell you how fast I read all of them… spoiler alert: incredibly fast ;) but who would know how much I needed in my life a dark, contemporary, erotica retellings of Disney villains getting their happy endings with lots of BDSM on the way… ;) not me, that’s for sure… honestly, I am shocked by how addictive this series is… and I am totally blaming it on the amazing writing style of Katee Robert :) I’m just gonna write one review for the whole series, cause in each one I would just repeat myself :) so here goes :) first of all, these books are hot as fuck… they are very well written, but make no mistakes, there is just enough plot to move things along and the majority of each story focuses on the (very sexy) romances… not only we have all sorts of sexual preferences and kinks included, I loved how it was just… there… no judgement whatsoever… consent is the one rule everyone abided by and when it comes to everything else, just do whatever works for you :) we also have a lot of different… let’s call them relationship dynamics, shall we? :) we have an FF couple and polyamorous relationships (both MMF and FFM) and it’s glorious :) my personal favourite is the third one (A worthy opponent) with the sixth one (Queen takes rose) a close second :) there are also gonna be (at least as off right now) two spin-off series, and you can bet your ass I already bought / pre-ordered all of those books :) if you want to find an amazingly well written escape from reality that will make you melt all over, look no further and pick this series up :)

Also Alaric is the biggest drip. He can get in the bin with Beast.

Told in multiple POV, these characters are intriguing with Ursa big as life, Alaric as loyal as a puppy dog and Zuri filling a void. Though Zuri’s intention is pure, she quickly learns others have a deeper motivation driven by longstanding tensions. This was my least favourite of this series, by far. I had real difficulty connecting to any part of our Ursa-Alaric-Zuri throuple. I felt Alaric was just an asshat for the first half of the book, with not much redeeming him from then on. There was a pretty heavy early sex scene where Zuri (sub) received no aftercare, which did not endear me to Ursa. And Zuri was so INNOCENT and so young, I never felt she clicked with these older, much more experienced people.
The Virginity Auction was good, but I expected Katee to take it farther and really tease us with displaying Zuri for the bids of the 'hungry' crowd.
And then, there was a quote that took me out of the book:
Ursa to Zurielle - “There’s no pretending you’re anything but a willing victim when you’re so wet, my fingers are shining.” Ursa is threatening to take a video of Zurielle, Alaric and her having sex and sending it to Zurielle’s father to PROVE that Zuri’s ‘into’ what they are doing to her. I'm still excited to read the final installment in this series. I have been dying to know what the deal is between Aurora and Malone so I'm ready for all their secrets to finally be brought to light!

I found this such an interesting installment, but it was a bit of a let down in some respects. It was pretty crazy at times, and I will admit I really struggled with what Ursa and Alaric do especially in the first half. I was eventually won over when we got to the more emotional building part of the relationship. There is a theme of revenge and it didn't really work for me all that well. It just didn't rub me the right way. So while overall I liked it, it didn't win me over till the end and I felt so badly for Murielle, and while I sometimes like menage relationships, I just didn't feel this one like I did in the previous books. But I did enjoy the "Little Mermaid" connections.

**I’m going to rant, so there will be some spoilers**
Okay, so truth be told, this was not good…but it’s also one of those cases where the narration made it AWFUL. I am ONLY giving this a 1.5 and not a 1.0 because Zuri's narrator deserves better than that!
THE NARRATION. This book had three narrators, one for each of the main characters (I’ll address the male narrator in the next section), and its only redeeming feature was the narrator for Zuriel – rewrite this book from just her and Ursa’s perspectives and have Zuri’s narrator read it (because damn, her voice for Ursa was HOT AF) and I would probably be giving this 3.5 stars just for great narration making everything better…honestly, even if you left the dude part in and made her narrate it, it would have been better!! The other female narrator that did Ursa’s part was not good. She wasn’t unbearable, but she used some weird intonations and pacing and added this really f***ing unfortunate lilt to her part that I think was meant to be seductive and cocky, but just sounded really stupid.
THE DUDE…I’m just going to call him ‘the dude’ because he was such a s*** character with such a s*** narrator that it’s not worth looking up how to spell his name. Okay, so first thing first, his narrator can read just fine, he’s okay(ish), if boring and uninspired, but bearable…where he is unbearable and, frankly, downright insulting, is when he does the voices for the two women. Sir, is that really how you think women sound? Or are you just incapable of doing any sort of halfway passable voice for a woman? That was absolutely, unbearably foul, characterized only by the words ‘winey’ and ‘nasal’. And don’t even get me started on the level of CRINGE when bro said the female parts during sex scenes – BARF! On top of that, the dude was just such a flat, boring character. I sort of knew what I was getting into with this one, but honestly, there were WAY more utterances of the word ‘cock’ than I expected, wanted, or needed – HARD pass (pun intended).
THE CHEMISTRY. What chemistry? Lol, I mean really, these people are all just horny, that is the predominant characteristic when you get right down to it, ‘____ WANTS TO F***”. Sorry to spoil the character development for y’all! There is literally no chemistry between Zuri and that slab of meat, the dude, and only a tiny little spark of it between Zuri and Ursa (and that is NOT me just being super-duper gay, I promise). Zuri is supposedly IN LOVE with this dude, but she’s literally dripping for every other person she meets along the way.
THE STORY. Making me repeat myself here…WHAT STORY? I’m so disappointed by this because the framework of it is SO promising. You’ve got all these mythological characters and gods and so much to play with there, but instead of doing anything interesting, you just make them all queer, kinky, polyamorous sluts – EVERYONE just wants to f*** EVERYONE ELSE. I mean, I know this is erotica, but erotica is so much better when there’s a compelling story, or is that just me? That is, of course, a matter of opinion, so if you ARE looking for a story comprised of nothing but steamy, kinky smut, look no further.
Last, but certainly not least…TENTACLE DILDOS. Bruh, NO! Just no! Tentacle dildos should never make an appearance outside of hentai. SMH, there just is really nothing about tentacle dildos that sounds attractive, pleasurable, or like a good f***ing idea! PUT THAT BACK IN YOUR DRAWER, MADAM!
Okay, okay, I will also say that it’s well-written, technically speaking. And the sex is steamy af, though WAAAAAY too much dick for my liking, but oh well, I won't reduce my rating for that. Unless you have a weird kink for dudes doing really bad fake chick voices, just READ THIS ONE, save yourself the cringe and read it…

I have been making my way slowly through the Wicked Villain series since August 2021. The Sea Witch is my favorite book in the series after Desperate Measures (book 1). It took me by surprise, and I loved it.
A majority of the books in this series have poly relationships and it continues with Ursa, Alaric and Zurielle's relationship. Ursa has a reputation for being a scary territory leader, and I was so excited to get more background on why she is the way she is and get a peek behind the curtain. I was not disappointed. Zurielle has a reputation for being naive and innocent, but we learn very quickly that she is so much more than that. Alaric fell a little flat for me, but I still enjoyed getting to know him while he was with Ursa and/or Zuri.
I do wish there was a little more drama between Triton and Ursa and/or Triton and Zurielle. That part of the story line was wrapped up way too quickly and easily. I was slightly disappointed.

This one wasn't my favorite trio of this series, because Aleric was a hard hero to root for. But I loved the ladies a whole lot. Ursa was a character that I could root for whole heartedly.

I fired up my laptop in order to better take you, dear reader, on a journey.
While it is entirely unnecessary, I feel that I must first defend myself. (Though really people should feel that they can read what they like and no genre is less valid than another) A dear friend has accused me of having a sense of intellectual superiority, I accept this accusation with out contradiction. After a lifetime of gifted programs, honors societies, and academic validation; this is to be expected and I personally celebrate it. So you can imagine that I, a magna cum laude graduate and former Catholic school student, would feel some guilt over my tendency to enjoy the occasional steamy romance. Usually, the romance novels I enjoy are set in the 19th century and are a means of pure escapism, as well as, a way to soothe the dull ache that is ever present in my hopeless romantic heart as a result of being 22 and never having romantically held hands with someone. So now I'm sure you must understand, dear reader, why the same person whose "Read" shelf boasts titles among the ilk of Anna Karenina, Pride and Prejudice, and Beloved would enjoy the occasional romance romp would have found herself in this situation.
I was first made aware of the work of Katee Robert on the social media platform, TikTok (I'm more than sure you've heard of it). A young woman much like myself was all a titter over having found, "spicy Disney romances" and I had saved some of these novels as samples to my Kindle app on my iPhone (as I am in grad school and have very little money and therefore do not have an actual Kindle. It is sometimes a rather Dickensian existence I lead, dear reader). I had relegated these novels to the back burner and forgot them in favor of other works of literature until recently when I gave in to the temptation to read Robert's Neon Gods on the recommendation of a TikTok creator whose opinion I have come to respect over my time in her audience, because I was bored on my family vacation (the weather has been atrocious, dear reader). It was on this same family vacation (which I am still tediously on) that I awoke at the ungodly hour of 2:56 a.m. and found myself unable to return to Dreamland. Not wishing to cause a disturbance with my lamplight to read a different book, I chose the sample of The Sea Witch. Then, being intrigued, as I am a naturally curious person, I purchased the novel like I would an iced chai latte from Starbucks and read well into the morning.
You may have gathered from this review that I am a rather vestal individual so you can imagine that I found this book to be "a lil much." But nevertheless I found myself reading on (after all Amazon doesn't let you refund digital purchases once used and I'd already spent my 4.99 plus tax).
I could have almost gotten on board. The same bosom friend I referred to earlier and I adore poking fun at ourselves and bits of culture and art and we would have had a lark over the silly novel I'd chosen to read and I would have derived the necessary entertainment out of the experience. And of course, I'd found nothing about the world, plot, or characters unforgivable (save for an excess use of the word "clit" and the male lead's name which I found to have the look and sound of a digestive aid). This was of course until I'd read enough to find out that the characters for all their support of "sex just being sex" (which I respect and agree with immensely) the characters fall in love with each other. I found myself to be greatly annoyed at this somewhat predictable turn of events and therefore ceased to have fun. All in all I am out of sorts for the moment but will probably find myself reading another Katee Robert novel if I find myself in another such situation because my quarter life crisis has come with a healthy dose of insomnia, and (I'm only human after all) these books make me feel better about my lacking love life (I may be lonely but at least I'm not /that/ lonely). 1.5 stars.

The Sea Witch is book 5 in the Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert, and it is no secret that I am obsessed.
However, I found myself not being as obsessed or invested in this ménage compared to the previous couples. And that’s super disappointing because this was one my most anticipated releases for 2020. This is a FFM bisexual ménage and I was practically drooling at the possibilities. Katee Robert’s writing here is erotic and incredibly enticing as always, but there was something missing for me. Do not get it twisted. I still greatly enjoyed this story and found it to be SEXY but throughout my reading I found myself craving more. This one didn’t feel as kinky to me which is crazy to say considering there was a super fun scene involving a tentacle dildo.....yeah you read that right. But I think maybe my expectation was too high or maybe I’m not the only one who felt like this book kind of played it safe? I don’t know. Trust me I feel crazy even typing these words. I absolutely devoured the sexy scenes but outside of those scenes, Alaric got on my damn nerves sometimes especially in the beginning. From the bits and pieces we’ve seen of him, this completely threw me for a loop. I was expecting to be all melty for him but nope. I did fall for Ursa though. She can be my Mistress anytime! The plot and the characters are very flat and not flashed out at all in this book. It seems like, the more the series continues, the less plot we get. There’s a lot of smut in there, it’s not excellent but it’s good, but that’s about it.
It’s sad because I think all of these stories have so much potential and could have been great and it’s the same with this one.
Alaric was my main reason to dislike the story to an extent. I didn’t like his character and I think he did a lot of unreasonable things. It would have improved the story immensely if it would’ve been Zuri and Ursa and no one else.
It’s sad because I think all of these stories have so much potential and could have been great and it’s the same with this one.
