The Nowhere Trilogy #2

Nowhere Left to Run

Rate this book
I have nowhere left to run…

I’ll never love another the way I loved him. He might have been a prince, but to me he was just Erik. The father of my child. The man whose love was so fierce, it’s like it never left me.

Some days I swear I can still feel his presence surrounding me, until I’m reminded that our love song is over.

Moving on is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.

Hollow without him, the music that’s been pouring out of my soul is the only way to ease the ache.

It will never replace the love of my life, but for my baby’s sake, I have to try.

Every tragic lyric, every minor chord, proves that I can’t outrun his ghost or the truth... my heart beats only for him.

This is book 2 in the trilogy and once you start reading it, you are going to take a ride on an emotional roller coaster. You better hang on and keep the tissues handy. You are going to need them. Casey and Erik’s story is such a great one and I am so ready for book 3 especially after how book 2 ends. I need to know what happened and I need for Casey and Erik to have their HEA. They have waited too long for it.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

First off, I have to say this…Nowhere Left to Run is NOT a standalone. You NEED to read book one, Nowhere Left to Fall, first in order to fully understand the story line. And just like book one, this book ends on a cliffhanger too. So, if you haven’t read book one, then I suggest you stop reading this review now, and go get your copy. If you’re a rebel and still want to keep reading my review, then right on! *high five*

Nowhere Left to Run is a continuance of Casey and Erik’s love story and starts right where book one left off. You’re transported back into the emotional and heartbreaking story of two people who seem destined to be together, but fate, along with one truly heinous family member, has other plans.

This story has a lot going on. We are given dual-POVs from Casey and Erik, which only makes the reader feel double the heartache and misery. We continue the journey with both characters as they find some sort of way to live their separate lives without the other. Many unfortunate circumstances occur throughout the book (which I just can’t give away), which only further solidifies the resolution that these two just won’t get their HEA.

I cannot tell you how invested I am in this trilogy. After reading book one, I didn’t think it could get any worse. But it does…it SO does. My heart was left shattered and aching; raw emotions of despair and loss wept from its bruised pieces. But at this point, there’s no turning back. I’m committed to finding out the conclusion to this beautiful, yet tragic, love story. I need to know if these two tormented characters finally find peace and love together. My heart will not be the same until that happens…

4.5 Stars!

Nowhere Left To Run is the second book in the Nowhere Trilogy by Kat Mizera. If you are new to this trilogy, it is vital you read Nowhere Left To Fall before diving into this novel. Because this is a continuation of the Nowhere Trilogy, I’m going to avoid diving too deep on what this novel is about. Instead I’ll just give my thoughts on what I loved and what I loathed about this novel.

My Thoughts:

I went into this book with an open mind and an open heart. After finishing the first book, I honestly had no idea what to think and what was going on in my head, all I did know was I was left feeling intrigued and wanting more.

The Nowhere Trilogy has so much potential to be something great. But yet again, I’m left with my head in my hands and wondering what the fuck did I just read. I’m left feeling a tad bit disappointed but also I’m left feeling intrigued, yet again.

My problem isn’t with the characters. I love Casey and Erik’s tale so far. I love the angst that comes along with a rightful heir in hiding and a rockstar thinking the worst while raising his baby. There were times during these moments where I truly felt the tears building beneath the surface.

My issue was with the storyline itself and the back to back angsty situations that surrounded Casey, herself. Holy hell, there was way to much going on in this novel. It was one angsty blow right after the other. Which in the end had me feeling a little disconnected from Casey’s character. What I needed was a bit of time in between all the angsty moments. Or subtract a few moments all together. Some situations didn’t need to be there.

Another issue was this novel is extremely fast paced which in the end also made it really hard to interpret and find the connections in the new relationships that started to form. It was one heavy situation right after another. There was no time to actual feel for the characters and all they are going through. I couldn’t understand their motives behind their choices made throughout this novel.

However, When it comes to Erik and Casey, I’m willing to step it up and read the final book in the series. I need to know if these two end up together in the end. I need to feel more of the only emotional connection I have felt in this novel. I need more of Erik and Casey!!! Here’s to hoping they make it through the thick of things together.

Overall, Nowhere Left To Run was just an okay read. It needed a bit of a push to get it over the 3 star hump. If I’m being honest, the ending is the reason why I decided to rate this one a 3 star instead of the 2 I intended on rating it. I’m extremely curious to see what’s going to happen to Casey and Erik. I’m curious to see if they end up together in the end. I mean, what more can they possibly go through that they haven’t already been through. It should all be smooth sailing from here…… Maybe.

OMG!!! The best series of the year and there is one more book to come!!! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read

Emotional roller coaster you are not wanting to get off of!!! The burning love story that just keep the twist and turns coming. Make sure you have the tissues close as Kat hits all the buttons and you will not even care that the tears are flowing!!!! I can’t say too much or I will give something away but the love that Erik and Casey share is one everyone wishes they had!!! The family ties and the village they have just makes it even better. Kat even throws a little hockey reference that makes you smile!!!!

If you read one series this year you must read this one!!! I can’t wait for that conclusion !!!

Kat is really blowing me away with this trilogy!! Like the first book, this book is fantastic! Casey and Erik’s story is heartbreaking and emotional. My heart went through the wringer and my emotions were all over the place. I so wanted them to be together in this story. But life and family have other ideas for them.

Beautifully written and gripping, Nowhere Left to Run will pull you in and you won’t want to let go. I am so into this couple and their story and am anxiously awaiting book three.

Mizera has become quite the balladeer. Full of heartbreaking melodies and soul stirring riffs, The Nowhere Trilogy haunts with it's unforgettable characters and unforgettable chorus. Nowhere Left to Run is packed with emotion. The heartache is only the start to a whirlwind of inner chaos. On her own and yearning for the other half of her heart, Casey finds out just how strong she can be. Powerful, mesmerizing, unpredictable.

With this book you see Casey start to live a bit with Erik being gone. It's not easy and she has other issues come up, but her family and music helps! Casey does get thrown a couple of times towards the end, first when Luke starts to question things, then issues with Jason and finally the last statement by Jason right as the book ends. All I can say is thank goodness I have the next one ready to go.

And while Casey is living his life, Erik is forced to do the same. I think he has the worst end of things, he knows Casey is out there, still living, but can't do anything about it and when he learns how Casey is making changes in her life, it's like a knife to his heart. Erik does have one good thing, his daughter. I loved that he found that little girl and made her his own.

I'm so freaking mad at the brilliant with a side of evil, Kat Mizera right now that I could chew nails.  First off, Nowhere Left to Run is the 2nd book in The Nowhere Trilogy, and I can't make this any clearer, YOU MUST READ Nowhere Left to Run (Book 1) FIRST, because see, this is the continuation of Erik & Casey's story, so in order to suffer like I am, YOU'LL HAVE TO READ THEM IN ORDER!  I've been brought to my knees, destroyed to the point that I HATE several people bitterly, and am so angry that I can't stop crying.  First of all, Erik deserves to suffer like no other, and I mean real suffering, like he should NEVER EVER have anything good in his life!  I HATE him so much that I'm not sure Ms. Mizera will be able to put me back together, on top of me forgiving him (and make no mistake, even if there's he makes things right, I'll not ever forgive him fully).  See, he made a horrifying choice at the end of Book 1, and while I was sure he couldn't top it,but he actually rose to the occasion by seriously topping it, and frankly, I want him tortured even more than he "supposedly" says he is.  I don't believe him or he wouldn't keep hurting the people he says he loves.  And I'm not talking about "protecting (and I use that word very lightly) them", but I'm talking about another stupid, crappy decision that has made me decide he's nothing but a piece of crap.  Next up are the 3 family members who are fine with what he's doing, so I HATE them too.  Finally, there's this b*t*h Liz,  who pretends to be a decent woman, but to me she's a shady horrible woman who I HATE almost as much as Erik, and I want her to suffer big time.  Is his country that he can't save, worth hurting the people who should be the most important to him?!  I mean I could understand some time to try, but he's gone way too far, too long, and hurt Casey so badly, I hope he doesn't get to rule it.  He gave up someone, who is being hurt by this now, and I just can't even with the cowardly, lying liar, who is nothing but a plague on Casey's life.  I wish I could tell you all the horrible, crappy decisions he made, but that would spoiler douchery, plus honestly, I seem to be the only one who thinks he's a piece of crap.  Obviously, I'm not just reading this story, but actually experiencing it like I'm there, so kudos to Ms. Mizera for that, but now all I want to do is call her colorful metaphors, unfortunately I can't because it's frowned up on the site I post reviews to.  I'm hope this disaster is fixed for Casey's sake, even though I want her to never love Erik again at this point, but at the end of the day, I'm #TEAMCASEY, even though I HATE #TeamErik, (no, I don't care that I've repeated it more than once, and will not apologize).  So here's the deal, I know many people are loving the emotional roller coaster ride which is literally killing me inside, and it truly is a gripping story (I wouldn't be so mad if it weren't), so now, I'm encouraging all of you to make up your own minds by one clicking this story that I'll NEVER EVER get over, and you won't either whether it be in the good or bad way!  And again, I pray that things are fixed in the conclusion, as long as Erik pays in huge dividends first, (and not in the light ways he is now, the coward.)  So that's all from me because I'm still very very emotional, and will end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!

Omg what a cliffhanger
This is part 2 of a trilogy and boy am I desperate for part 3 to come out.

Casey is in love Erik despite believing him to be dead after he left to protect her and their son from the civil war ripping his country apart.
He has to endure seeing her grieve and try to move on. Neither of them are happy, neither can truly move on from the love of their life no matter how hard they try.
The only thing holding Erik together is the thought that 1 day he will overthrow his cousin who is causing the civil war and who tried to kill off anyone who could oppose him for the thrown of Limaj. The only this holding Casey together is her kids, especially Luke who looks so much like Erik it hurts.
I knew it would be left open for part 3 but seriously...........need the final part NOW!!!

Nowhere Left To Run by Kat Mizera is book 2 in the trilogy and once you start reading it, you are going to take a ride on a huge emotional rollercoaster. Just hang on tight and keep boxes of tissues handy.
Nowhere Left to Run picks right up where Nowhere Left to Fall ended. It cannot be read as a standalone. Casey and Erik’s love story starts right where book 1 left off. Without giving anything away, this book is in dual POV- we ger Casey and Erik's POV. It's utterly heartbreaking to read their thoughts and read what is happening. Book 2 is such an emotional rollercoaster ride so make sure you have tissues handy and your ready to hang on, for its quite the emotional ride. The epic cliffhanger ending has me dying for book 3 like now!!! Will they or won't they... that's the question.

If I could give one story this year 10 stars it would be this one! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read

Soul Burning
Gut Wrenching
Big Hard Love
Emotional Rollercoaster
A Box of Tissues... Maybe Two

These are some ways to describe all that you will get with this story(series). I for one do not regret all the tears I cried for this one. I absolutely love a story the will pull all your emotions and make you feel every single thing the character feels. For Casey and Erik they both have their share of heartache and soul shattering loss.

But one thing is for sure... the biggest thing they have is STRENGTH!

A MUST READ! 10 Gutting Stars!

My heart is pounding, my jaw has dropped and my eyes are burning...

The second book in this trilogy will break your heart and put it back together a number of times before you finally reach the end. There are too many days until I get the conclusion in my hands...until Erik and Casey finally get the ending they deserve! Kat Mizera has written such an amazingly beautiful and haunting story of love, loss and grief that it will change you forever.

This is the second book in the series, and if I thought the first book was a traumatic, Nowhere Left to Run is even more painful as Casey and Erik lead separate lives while still mourning for the loss of their relationship, but also try to move forward. I love the characters in this book, and Casey's music career is really fun with the different musicians in her life. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Again I find it hard to rate a book in an unfinished trilogy because my feelings are in suspension. I’m enjoying the story, the author does an impressive job of keeping such a big cast of characters clear but again finding it a little slower than would be ideal. I suspect my other challenge was listening to this having eyeball read the first, so no disrespect to the narrators but having already read a whole book with these characters they had voices in my head that didn’t match the narrators so that jarred a bit. I’m grateful that I’m able to binge this trilogy, if I’d had to wait after these cliffhangers I would’ve been upset.

In Nowhere Left to Run, Casey's forced into a marriage of convenience, thought up by the love of her life, Erik. All to protect her. But that protection will come at an unbearable price and she's then left to deal with the pain as her life falls apart. Will Casey ever catch a break? Ever know happiness and love again?

Nowhere Left to Run is a roller coaster of emotions. Our couple is apart for 99% of the story and to be honest, it bugged me more than a little. The pace dragged and I was wondering where, if anywhere, the story was taking Casey and Erik's relationship. Then by the end and the awful cliffhanger, I was left unsatisfied. Oh, I know (think) the author has something good in store for Nowhere Left to Hide, but I wish she had given us some of that good in this middle part of the trilogy because I felt really let down throughout, and by the end. That's why the 3.5 stars rather than the 4 I gave Nowhere Left to Fall. I'm still interested in finding out what happens, though, and am hopeful something positive comes next!

Nowhere Left to Run has left me with a bit of a book hangover. I'm in love with The Nowhere Trilogy and this is only book 2. You are left where book 1 leaves us. Casey, Erik, Nick, and Sander are doing what they can to move forward as planned. You feel for everyone involved in this one. Kat Mizera is just evil...kidding. She just takes you places you weren't expected with this one and brings out some deep emotions that have me just itching for the final book. I need to know what happens to everyone. Damn those cliffy's. But it is so worth it. Nowhere Left to Run brings the feels, the heartache. I'm hoping that soul-searing love Casey and Erik share can be strong enough to survive everything. Grab some chocolate, some kleenex, and a bottle of wine and enjoy everything that Kat Mizera brings to the pages. I'm gutted with this one and I hope you love The Nowhere Trilogy as I have up to this point. Go one-click this book and you will not regret it.

Nowhere Left to Run is book two in the Nowhere Trilogy and this story keeps getting better and better!
Talk about and emotional rollercoaster filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, heartbreaking moments to heartwarming ones and every word will keep you riveted to your seat!
Casey’s life seems to always be in chaos and yet she has somehow managed to stay strong and keep moving forward even when her heart constantly grieves for the only one who owns her soul. Erik has sacrificed so much and now there are two people and two hearts that have to beat separately from across the world. I have never read a book where I want two characters to find each other again and be able to have the happiness they deserve than these two.
Their story is not over so hang on. I cannot wait to see where Kat takes us in the final book of this trilogy!

This story was a fantastic follow up to the first one. Casey is trying to deal with life without Erik, and trying to deal with pregnancy/a newborn and being married to Nick, along with everything else in her crazy life. But little does she know, her tornado of a life has just began.

Erik is trying to help his country, but feels useless, because things aren’t going as fast as he wants them too. But he could never expect what was to come in the years to follow.

I don’t want to go into too much detail and spoil anything, but this story is so good, and left me with my jaw on the floor. I need the next one ASAP!

Erik and Casey both find themselves devastated for different reasons. Erik made the decision that he thought was best for his country and Casey while Casey had no choice but to move forward with her life and ensure that the memories they had when they were together live on for the son he never got to know. With all the obstacles and secrets standing between them will they ever find their way back to each other?

Full of emotion and angst your heart breaks for what Erik and Casey have had to endure and leaves you wanting to know what the future holds for both of them in the final installment of this trilogy.

Book 2 in this trilogy doesn't hold back and the punches keep coming for Casey and Erik, I seriously don't know how Casey holds it together as she is just sucker punched at every turn it feels like and your heart just breaks for her. Erik has loads to deal with also but on a different level and sometimes I just wonder if he really is doing the right thing and what was with that comment from Liz about where sex was part of the arrangement WTAF!! Ok I seriously need book 3 to see where everything is going to end up and to be honest right now I have no clue what else is going to happen to not only Erik and Casey but also everyone else!!!!

Nowhere left to run is the second in a trilogy of Erik and Casey story. Casey real matured throughout this book on her own, she truly became the woman she was destined to be. Erik had to put country over himself as any good royal should. As life pulled them into different directions their love was strong, but not enough.

Mizera ripped my heart out with this book. I cried in a few spots, which proved to me that Mizera hates her characters and us the readers ;) A book that can pull these kinds of emotions can only be amazing. I can't wait to read the last one.

Absolutely Fabulous

This book is the second book in the series and should be read in order to fully understand everything. Casey Hart is the daughter of a rock legend. It has helped her get her start and stay in the limelight. She is recovering from playing along with the scheme to keep her and her baby safe. This book by 17% in had me in tears. It is absolutely necessary to have a Kleenex box on hand while reading it. It also does end with a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book. Was absolutely blown away with this one.

This book will take you on an emotional ride. There are highs and then there are the lows. Casey and Erik will break you heart. Casey is trying to stay strong with the absence of Erik from her life. Erik is trying to keep Casey and their baby safe. I am loving them and hoping that they will finally get their chance together. The cliffhanger at the end of this book nearly broke me. I cannot wait for the final book in the trilogy!

OMG! This trilogy is blowing me away! Casey and Erik’s story is fantastic! It’s an emotional roller coaster ride that I’m glad to be on. It’s filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, heartache, heartbreak, secrets, drama, angst, loss, grief and romance. This like the first one ends in a shocking cliffhanger. I can’t for the final book in the Nowhere Trilogy! It’s going to be great!

Really difficult to rate

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers
There are no grammatical or editorial errors.
I have to be honest and state I am not totally enjoying the series, it's superbly well written, but good God it's full of angst.
I don't think the characterisation is particularly exceptional, I couldn't care less if any particular character gets killed off.
There are very few lighter moments to balance all the emotional overload, there is very little show and way too much tell.
The characters don't seem to have developed at all in ten years, the same fretting over the same worries ad nauseum.
That's my opinion, which is at complete odds with the fact that it truly is very well written.
It's not light hearted, it's not a romance, it's not a thriller and it's not a mystery suspense. It's something else all together.
There is very little swearing and only hints at sex.
I will be purchasing the next book in this series, because I really need to see how it all ends, but it's not one I will ever re-read.

Star Review Nowhere Left To Fall (The Nowhere Trilogy #1) by Kat Mizera

Audio
This was an entertaining romantic suspense story that ticked all the boxes for me. Well written, the narration was good and the narrators, and   were easy to listen to. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that was told. There were equal amounts of romance and suspense which was entertaining. The characters were easy to relate to and I really liked them. The chemistry between them was intense and I found myself laughing out loud on a number of occasions with the witty banter and humour. The narrators certainly did justice to the characters and the wonderful story that the author created.
