The Indarian's Ghost

Rate this book
My name is Keta. I’m an elite soldier for the interplanetary military, a Ghost operative. I’ve lived my whole life preferring solitude. I'm content to live my life without any males trying to control me. Who needs love, I have my blasters, right?

But fate changes my lonely existence. Somehow I’ve ended up mated to an Indarian triad - a shapeshifting race of Alpha Males. Lucky me.

The Indarians are a patriarchal society, which goes against everything that I stand for. I refuse the triad and disappear, determined to continue to live my life on my terms, as a Ghost.

I immerse myself in my work and my newest assignment, may be my toughest one yet. Not only do I have to shut down a black market slave ring on Heruta, I also have to work with a team of Indarian triads. And guess what, they are mine.

Can I really let go of my solitary life and embrace my Indarian mates, or will I continue to Ghost them when all is said and done?

First, I'll list some specific trigger warnings for those interested in reading this book.
Trigger Warnings:
Sexism
Slavery
Violence in gory detail
Violence against women
Rape (both male and female)
Torture
Child death and mutilation

The Good
Excellent quality of writing, flows amazingly well.
Interesting world building
Lots of alien diversity
Interesting creature design
The 3 love interests for the most part

The Not So Good

While the author is an excellent writer and has a vivid imagination creating her worlds and characters, I personally had problems with the main character and the messages presented. I'm not sure if it was unintentional on the author's part. It's not easy writing with gender inequality as a main theme, many who try don't succeed without doing more damage.

That being said, if you DO like domineering alphas, sci fi, strong characters and cool aliens, you may enjoy this one! I will be looking for other books written by this author in the future.

My issues:
- The writing.
- Triggers. It's a bias possibly, but I don't like detailed torture scenes. Also there are mentions to sexual assault.
- Blatant sexism. Keta wasn't about the sisterhood. She hardcore hated on women and that is not okay. Also, this book had subtle and blatant hints of sexism.
- Keta. I did not like her. She was annoying and mean. She overcompensated by trying to be badass. I love a tough chick, but she wasn't really. Also, she's abusive which is not okay.
- There was instant attractant and insta love. Neither worked because of the writing.
- There was literally no plot. I'm totally down for the main plot of a book to be the romance. But this book hinted at the plot being about Keta's military job and the romance, but there wasn't any. There wasn't any development. It was basically just random situations being thrown together.

I'm not an author, but I read enough books to know if something is good or bad. Yes that's my opinion, but I'm allowed to have one. I think next time the author should take more time to flesh out the story. Your main character needs more personality aside from hating other women. She was like a child constantly throwing a temper tantrum when no one was undermining her. I also think this book would've worked if we had a gradual push of the connection. Keta went from hating her mating bond to wanting to climb them like a tree. It was confusing and threw me off.

umm... what???
okay, where to begin? honestly i don’t even know.

First of all, i love a badass, take no shit FMC. Keta was exactly this, until about half way through the book. Sure, she had her faults. She was sexist, had a quick temper, and was honestly annoying at times. However, even though i didn’t enjoy her childish moments, i could tolerate them due to her upbringing and the knowledge that the society she lived in was extremely sexist as well.

What really killed this book for me though, was how when she found out what her triad was keeping from her (which was pretty significant) she just basically rolled over and had sex with the last guy to complete her mating. what the what?? that was so inconsistent with her character, even if the mating urges were present. honestly i quickly lost interest in this book once they were mated. all of her morals and values suddenly disappeared as soon as she started having sex with them. what is that bs? not only did they keep this one thing from her, but they kept several other important things from her as well (can you tell i’m trying not to spoil stuff? lol) and she just basically physically abused them and made a bunch of empty threats. yikes.

and then there’s also the whole extremely graphic violence she experienced and the scene with the little girl that i felt was just unnecessary. we didn’t need that much detail, imo. this is the perfect place for a fade to black scene. or at least put some trigger warnings in the description or first bit of the book.

Two stars for the first part of the book, pretty much just skimmed the last part for closure. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Just keeping it real with you guys. However, this is just my opinion. You may feel differently. Even though I have my problems with this book, it was well written & the author had an interesting concept for the book.

*Spoiler Alert*
Kera lives in a society where women are treated like second class citizens. Where women should be meek and docile. Bowing and scraping for their traid - Mates. Except Keta (the MFC) isn't going to conform to that stereotype. Strong-willed and Bad*** she's worked her way up to become a Ghost. An elite soldier. So she has no time for her triad (Takio, Moaz and Etan) and she lets them know in no certain terms of that but things have a fun way of not working out how she planned in this book. Loved the banter and the power-play between Keta and the guys. The scene in the nightclub with Keta and Moaz was damn right hot!!! Yes there's some dark bits in this book (just don't read it if you have a problem with dark romances) and some were a little bit much for me. Saying that though in order to understand Keta you have to have an idea about who she is and why she does what she does. Makes for a pretty good read as far as I'm concerned

Decent read

This was a decent read but I struggled through the “alpha” attitudes. I couldn’t help but feel that the males were overly chauvinistic and that they never apologized for their attitudes. They just expected her to adjust and forgive them and submit to what they wanted.

The Idarian Ghost is a strong, stubborn female who insists on living life her way. Her life is turned upside down when a set of triplets recognizes her as their mate. She fights it tooth and nail, only to end up on a mission with them. Will they succeed in their own personal mission to claim her and her feisty attitude or will they be left alone without her?

Let me start with saying this book was freaking amazing. If you want an FMC who seriously a tough chick, take no prisoners then this is the book you need to read. So Keta wants to serve justice and can take care of herself. She is tough, smart and has a foul mouth. I instantly fell in love with her. Then these three males just walk into her life. Takio, Moaz, and Etan who are Indarian. A triad, an alpha and two betas. These men know they found their mate but Keta does not want anything to do with mating. Then fate happens and she has to be around these males for a bit. These three guys have no clue what they are up against when it comes to her. She doesn't liken to be ordered around and Well she lets them know. That was just hilarious to read. Well something happens to Keta and she decides that if she can get pass this hurdle, she was going to accept her mates. But first she needs to fight and get her revenge. Make no mistake Takio, Moaz and Etan will do anything to complete their mating bond. it just take a bit for all to understand each other. These fine males soon prove to her that she will have her freedom.

This book will suck you in quick and will not be done with you til you finish. There are so many intense moments that my heart was pounding, hands shaking and even cried. Be prepared because there is a moment where it gets dark and ugly. Other than that, this is a five-star book that you need to read.

Amazing book!!!

I understand this is the author’s first book but honestly I could not even tell!! Her writing capabilities and creativity was amazing for someone who is just starting out!! The story and plot were well thought out and executed perfectly. Nothing felt rushed to me at all.

I always enjoy a good alien/sci-fi romance especially when the men are more of the alpha dominating type. The characters were all well described and their personalities were differing enough that I never found myself getting the men confused. Keta is a woman who has worked hard to earn her spot as a Ghost and can definitely handle herself in tense situations. However, this book does have a few dark elements in it such as slavery, and sexual assault. Please keep that in mind when picking this book up.

The steam is pretty hot and I would consider a fast burn. While I loved reading all that wonderful smut, the “I love you” bomb was dropped pretty quickly between Keta and Moaz when they were imprisoned. I get it that between mates their is the instant love kind of connection but the phrase “I love you” just seems so trivial and juvenile in this type of situation. I would have rather read them telling each other how much they mean to each other with a heartfelt declaration. Just my opinion.

Overall this was a fantastic book that was wrapped up nicely with the epilogue. I highly suggest this book if you love aliens and RH. Fantastic job to the author on her debut book!!!

I absolutely loved this book. It’s very intriguing and has everything for an incredible RH. To be honest alphas for me are what RH are all about. It’s not about control and the author clearly portrays this. It has everything I love though! The story revolves Keta the KA heroine. She is incredibly strong considering the life she has led so far and is simply put amazing. No matter what struggles she goes through she overcomes it. I love that she is everything strong, brave, a soldier fighting for what is right and also so caring to everyone in her life. It is an incredible story that sucks you in from the get go and continues to keep you there until the very end. Bot to mention the steamy scenes!! Holy hotness what a trio! Nothing like a great story with intrigue and a great story line with a twist of a super heroine and some sexy beasts. I loved this book so much the only downside is it ended. It does have some possibly triggering scenes which is clearly mentioned and I think this had a bigger impact on the story and although it made me cry and yell it is such a good read and I definitely recommend it! What a great author KC Morgan is thank you for sharing Keta and the Indarian’s story with us.

Wow!!!

Seriously what did I just read? The world KC Morgan has built and the characters are amazing! Seriously I can't say enough positive things about this book! Its probably one of the best Sci-fi romance books I've read in a long time, if not ever. The characters are just so real and the way they handle their situations is so refreshing. Keta knows what she wants an it isn't to become a wife and have her choices removed and meeting her men doesnt chanhe this. However, there are no immature relationships here! They have their issues but they find ways to work around and through them to strengthen themselves as a team. I can see fans of people like Auryn Hadley loving this. Just read it! It will be so worth your time!

Strong lead and hot aliens

First loved the FMC Keta. She was didn't put up with any s***. Keta is a soldier but not just any soldier she's a GHOST and has worked hard to get to her position. While on a new case she comes across a triad of Indarian from her mother's home planet. They are forced to work together even though the butt heads due to their patriarchal race. Keta is use to being by herself and doesn't conform to what they are use to. Which causes plenty of arguments but they work together to complete the mission.

This book has a tough FMC and 3 hot alpha males. The author also starts to build a world that I can see expanding more in the next books. I'm excited to see what the next book holds

The Indarian’s Ghost by KC Morgan was a hell of a ride! Brutal and action-packed, but still fun to read, it gave me all the feels. The characters are fierce and completely lovable. I loved the female MC, she was a badass and I loved that she didn’t bow down to the men in her life, she stayed strong throughout. Well written and a great read! This book is the best kind of space adventure love story.

This is a dark alien rh that is medium to fast burn romance. I enjoyed the characters and plot. The mc is strong, no nonsense personality that has found herself connected to some guys that are use to meek, pampered women. The epilogue hints at another book following a different mc. I look forward to reading future books.

Pass

I just feel conflicted over the characterization of the female lead. The author tried to make the lead appear badass and I just didn’t get the vibe. She is just so zero to eighty in her mannerisms. She rages, loses her temper, is aggressively childish. She’s all about championing her sex and showing how “so far above” she is when it comes to sexism and trying to be seen as an equal. But she just isn’t. She gives into the men’s demands and it just gives you the “rolls over bearing her belly” attitude. She’s supposed to be a warrior, and I wasn’t impressed.

I don’t think I was prepared for the triggers to include murder of children let alone the detail of it.

I wasn’t a big fan of the males, how they commandeered her life, her hard work, her job , her status. How they expected her to be ok with it and then she was pissed, did her ragey deal and then just. Accepted it? Her M.O. is that she loves her job and doesn’t want to end up like how the females of that planet end up and she did! This book just really was missing something. There felt like a disconnect.

I don’t even feel like I understood the whole shape shifting thing. I understood it better at the end when there was a glossary to make sense of all the info and verbiage that went into making this story ( types of alien races, planets, alien language, ect) should’ve been put in the beginning of the book. But I still didn’t understand the look of the animal or where and how it related to the story....

There are so many things I could nitpick but at the end I was asking myself what I liked about this book. The answer, nothing really. Wasn’t worth a read.

Enjoyed parts. Needed a trigger warning for SA

This was an ok read. I enjoyed the premise and the idea but I was left thinking about plot holes.
I also didn’t love the instant love the FMC seemed to fall into especially when her entire personality is against this kind of relationship. Also she was able to change her mind with a few words from her mates? That didn’t ring true for me, I’ll give someone the benefit of the doubt but trust is earned.

Also did I miss the trigger warning for the sexual abuse story line because that was ROUGH.

I did really like the world building, I thought that was great. And the characters felt well developed, the guys didn’t blend into one another for me.

I don’t love that the mates were from a patriarchal society where women are property. I didn’t get this bit. And it felt a bit weird to write a social structure like that in today’s society.

I decided to read the book because she runs away from her mates. She is fundamentally flowed with parent issues, abandonment issues, feeling less than and so one. She needs a lot of work but the book is not about that. Maybe that was the point - that even if she despises weak women she still goes to save them? Maybe.
I was pleasantly surprised the plot is not overly deep but it does give you satisfaction to read.
So she is a secret agent of the federation, they are soldiers of their own planet. Bad guys create a slavering and abduct women to sell. They have to stop it and work together. Things get bad quickly as they weren't so well prepared and during all their planning and experience they decide to trust each other and she accepts them as mates.

When good books go bad

I was really enjoying this book up until about 60 percent, probably would have even given it five stars.. At that point the males started to do some manipulative or just unthinking stuff that made me not enjoy them anymore, besides a couple moments this lasted most of the rest of the book. And the FMC fought against it but then just kinda gave in, it was a change from how she had been written up till then. Also to then find out in the Epilogue that half her life had been manipulated by two people.. Yeah I'm just done.

DNF. God, there is nothing I hate more than female MC who is supposed to be tough and independent and skilled at fighting, but then let’s men walk all over her and never wins a fight. This character talks tough, but her actions never reflect it. Her mates mess up, she gets mad, and then they conquer her until she agrees to forgive. Then they do the same thing over again with no remorse and she just keeps on letting it go. They literally do everything she worries they are going to do, while saying that they’re not, and she doesn’t even care. Gah!
Also, I really want to stab Takio.

Ghost

I love this book. It's definitely harsh at times and if you have triggers it might not be something you want to read. The FMC is a very strong willed. She doesn't take crap from anyone. When she finds her mates, she doesn't role over either. She fights the whole way. She doesn't change who she is because of the relationship she ends up in. Natalia is a devious woman, right up my alley. The guys are a trip. I wish they had been developed more but it doesn't hurt the story that they aren't.

DNF @ 33% - didn’t even make it to the first sex scene lol~

The writing is well done, the world building and alien diversity was good. I don’t even mind the triggers.

My problem was Keta. The author tried to make her a hardcore feminist badass….but she was actually a female hating individual with anger issues. You can’t get mad at people for assuming you’re a pussy when you call others if your sex a pussy as well, hypocrite. I can’t stand that.

Full on page torture, talking blood and burning the whole thing. That should have been up front.

Now, I hate the males, especially the alpha male. He literally did what she didn’t want, and enslave her to them, against her will, and what she had been fighting against her whole life, and she literally went oh ok. How your FMC that is a fighter and a kick ass amazing Amazon woman can suddenly be a pathetic Mary Sue in one sentence.

I absolutely loved this book. Very dark, erotic, couldn't ask for more. I love when an author has no fear. Some of us love this type of book, doesn't disturb me in the least. The more brutal the more I love it. I have already finished book 2 and am starting book 3. I can only hope and pray there will be more to come!

Absolutely loved!

I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this book I just absolutely loved the cover and the fact that it had a badass female in it! I totally fell in love with each of the guys for their own special little things about them. It was such a awesome book and can’t wait to start the second one!

Although I liked some parts of the book, the last part was confusing. Keta was very strong and sure of herself in the beginning but as time went on, she lost that strength. For example, Keta told the slaver exactly what she would do to him and once her and her mates had him, she didn't keep her promise to the slaver. It was hard to read in some parts and I almost didn't finish it.
