We were both drunk, that’s my excuse. He had just broken up with his fiancé, that’s his excuse. But we both want to do it again.
Miguel Mancinelli isn't anybody's idea of a typical Daddy. He's twenty-two years younger than Dallas Coulter. He's physically bigger, but too rough around the edges to take care of anyone, but himself and his nightclub. Yet, the day they meet everything changes… can they really blame it on the drinks?
Drunk Boy is a steamy short M/M read that will leave you ready to go find your own club owner for the night. If you love stories mixed with amazing banter, you're bound to enjoy this book.
Aubrie Lee is the sexy minded alter ego of a very normal, a tad boring, always smiling mid-twenties woman. At first glance, you would never believe that she is capable of not only fantasizing but writing all the hot, steamy stories that lurk inside her mind. But as we all know looks can be deceiving, and you are given first row seats to all her stories, there will be lots of giggles and HEA's, that's guaranteed.
2,5 - 3 stars Overall a mildly entertaining story. I felt the intention of the plot. Only... I had some trouble with the way of storytelling. It felt more like a report than a story. A few things I didn’t find plausible. There were relationship claims without a real relationship. I also missed emotions here and there. It lacked depth at the moments I wanted to know more and the personalities weren’t consistent.
After all said I want to say when I look through all this open-minded I see a nice, complex, entertaining story. Both men their minds are doing overtime. So we read a lot of inner conversations. At times there are some playful kind of Daddy/boy interactions which I found more adorable than convincing. The power exchange had a lot of resistance with both men. Both had trouble with letting go and submit, both strong-headed and afraid to give over there ‘power’ Not quite the story I expected after reading #1 which I felt more connected with.
2.5 stars rounded up because I didn't dislike it enough to round down.
The promise of the dynamic intimated in the premise is one that I'm definitely drawn to lately. And it doesn't hurt that I was interested in where the MC's could have taken the story even without the Daddy/boy stuff added in. I wish the execution had been as on-point as the synopsis, but I just didn't connect with the characters or the story as much as I had hoped I would.
Miguel and Dallas had a lot of chemistry that they could play off of, but it didn't really go very far. Their first scene was a good start, it just got muddled, confused, over-complicated, and distracted by the light of day and hesitations that didn't make a whole load of sense. The secrets were justifiably frustrating as well as the predictable concerns about age, but other than that there were so many moments that I felt like I was missing something, that I'd read too fast or skipped too much, that they were just making mountains out of thin air and not just mole hills. I feel like they just pushed the many small conflicts and misunderstandings way too hard for the length and pace of the story.
The dramatic conflict that brought them together in the first place didn't really go anywhere either. I would have liked more time actually following an investigation instead of getting lost in so many other details that didn't push either the relationship or the plot forward. Adding in the side characters and it was just a bit too much for such a short story. I'm vaguely interested in what's going to happen between Dallas' contact and Miguel's brother, but other than that I think there were too many elements fighting for attention.
With some better content editing this could be a great addition to the series. I'd have liked to see them keep more of the playful moments, the sweeter side of things to balance the secret that really is their biggest valid issue, and streamlining the extraneous details and events that detracted from the story's flow. This wasn't a bad book, I just had a difficult time connecting with the characters and the story.
This is the second book in the Call Me Daddy series and recommend reading Good Boy first to know more about what’s going on (totally worth it). Dallas comes to Canada to get behind who actually stole his aunts money while she was on her death bed. If that’s not bad enough his finance breaks up with him when he leaves and admits to cheating on him for the last year of their 2 year relationship AND that he pretty much was just in it for money. Needless to say Dallas is feeling down and decides his first stop in a bar so he can get drunk. Miguel, who owns the bars, notices the older man right away and surprise surpise after a few drinks Dallas asks to see the owner of the "joint" then gets the younger man drinking with him and with then both drunk and inhibitions lowered well let the games begin. But when Miguel learns Dallas has been hiding something can he forgive him for using him and not being honest. And can Dallas get over the age difference between the 2 and let his younger Daddy into his heart. I loved the push and pull for dominance between them even though they both knew who'd come out on top. If you're looking for a fast, hot, dirty read that will have you laughing and also includes sweet moments look no further. With the age gap and younger daddy/older little boy this was a delicious read, I love when author switch up the "normal" tropes.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Dallas is P.I. and his prey is in Canada. His finance breaks things off over the phone after dropping the bomb on him out of the blue two years wasted. After the death of his cousin Paige, her low life of a lawyer had stolen her money. Dallas was going to make it right. Taking a detour in a bar on his first night in town just may have been either the best or worst decision he makes.
Miguel watches the man at his bar fast approaching wasted, when the guy asked for the owner of the "joint", it ruffles a few of his father's until looking into the sad lonely eyes before. Something about Dallas pulls him under faster then he was ready for having the older man under his control was going to be either the most torture or sweetest thing. But when he finds out that the man is using him for info can they come back from the damage that will surely follow? Older man with younger Daddy. Age--gap, fast pace romance. I laughed way to much through out this book between wanting to strangle the guys for lack of communication. This was an amazing read can't wait for Stephen and Marcus story to come out.
A entertaining story of two men who find themselves in a unique place in life. Both looking for love in all the wrong places/people. Until one night in the bar. Dallas is strong man who had his heart broke. He is drinking and Miguel meets him. The connection is there " I can be your Drunk Boy" where it all begins. This two talk and find out they have many things in common along with a hot sexual encounter. Will surrounding troubles ,people and pain break up something they have yet to begin? Will these two have more then this time. Dallas from the USA and Miguel in Canada? Can Dallas give some time for love and not always work??? Is Miguel ready to see love worth fighting for? What are you awaiting for read the second book in this series to get the answers! Finding your soul mate with open arms and maybe an open mind.
If M/M isn’t your thing, you may want to stop here, but if romance is your bag, this book will fulfill that need. Dallas, a PI, travelled to Canada to investigate a suspect that he believed had stolen his cousin’s money while she was on her deathbed. Upon hearing that Dallas was traveling and had planned to donate the money, Dallas’ fiancée breaks up with him, saying that he was only in it for the money. Sad, and now single, Dallas walks into Miguel’s bar to drown his sorrows but ends up in a relationship with Miguel. Both men have trust issues, but when Dallas’ case puts Miguel’s life in danger, will Dallas find him in time to tell him that he loves him? Drama filled romance with a Daddy vibe that you just have to read!
The second book in this series has lots of steam, some sass, some plot twists, and an ending that I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed Miguel’s and Dallas’ story; it held my attention and had a good plot. Dallas finds himself in Canada as he chases a lead on a big case; Miguel winds up becoming a part of that chase, in more ways than one. While the lead characters do go through a lot in the short span of this book, they do get the HEA I was hoping for! I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
Thanks to Aubrie for the advances copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It was a solid read!
Dallas is a private investigator his current job is trying to find the person who screwed over his cousin and he's has been recently dumped by his partner of 2 years. Miguel is the owner of a bar and is bisexual but keeps his sexual preferences to himself after an incident as a teenager. Dallas and Miguel meet when Dallas goes into the bar to drink his sorrows away. Dallas realizes Miguel can help him get close to the person he's looking for, so he plans to have fun but use Miguel for information. Will Miguel open his heart up for the first time? What will happen if Miguel figures out Dallas is using him? Will Dallas get the bad guy?
this is the second book in the Daddy series. I recommend you read book 1 to fully understand some of this book.
Dallas is a P.I. heading to Canada to find his suspect in the disappearance of his cousin's money. His fiance breaks up with him because if he gets the money back he wants to donate some of it. Miguel owns a bar and has one best friend. He keeps his circle small because he doesn't trust people. Both men are attracted to each other but their walls make it difficult. When Dallas's case puts Miguel in danger can he save him and tell him his true feelings? You have to read it.
Drunk Boy is the second book in the Call Me Daddy series by Aubrie Lee. This is a short but great contemporary m/m story that gets steamy, has fun and flirty banter, a touch of mystery/suspense and interesting characters. Miguel and Dallas are fun and hot. I like a younger Daddy and older Boy story.
This book was exciting and entertaining. It was steamy hot and left you wanting to read more about Miguel and Dallas. Miguel is a bar owner and finds Dallas very sexy. Dallas is a PI and is investigating Miguel’s friends but he is attracted to Miguel. I loved the ending except it left me wanting to read more.
This has to be my favorite book by Aubrie of all time. I found myself laughing in some parts. While in others mad that each of these men had their reasons for the hook up. This is a short read that you can finish in one evening. Cannot wait to see what is next.
This is book 2 in this series. It is best to read book 1 first to have the story background to fully enjoy this story. A drunken hookup that leads to more. A hot, steamy and quick read about Miguel and Dallas. A PI and a bar owner. With all their secrets, can these two make it work??
This is a hot and steamy quick read about Miguel and Dallas. About a PI and a bar owner. It is best if you were to read the first book to get the full background to enjoy this story. The characters and the storyline are well developed and flowed pretty well.
What a hot little book. Different from the first book but still really good. Was a enjoyable read and I believe I'll be reading it again. Can't wait to see what happens next.
