If you’re going to feature a character who has suffered abuse in your story, at least have the courtesy to treat the subject with a bit of respect. Didn’t dislike the characters or the romance aspect but with other issues thrown in and handled lazily, the drop in standard between these later self-published titles and those published by Berkley/Headline under the Green Mountain moniker has become evident.

I admit, after the last installment, I was ready to divorce this series, but I am so glad I didn't. This book regained all the heart and feels that made me fall in love with this series to begin with. This was different as the relationship of Mia and Wade didn't begin due to the meddling of Elmer and Lincoln, but with a marriage. Unrealistic? Maybe, but it worked for me. I loved it. The rest of the Abbotts figure heavily in this which added to the enjoyment. We also get a tease of the next book, with Lucas and Landon and their pursuit of the same girl. That looks to be be great fun. Can't wait! 5 stars for getting me back on board with this series!

Wade Abbott knew after one weekend that he wanted Mia Simpson, but she was already in a relationship, one he suspected was abusive. Not knowing her well, he tried to build a friendship with her, to offer support in the only way he knew how. But after a year of silence from her end, he finds her battered and beaten on his doorstep asking for a huge favor.

Wade is the quiet one of the bunch. He has always marched to the beat of his own drummer. While he loves working closely with his family, he also loves his quiet time alone. He is vegan and practices yoga, which led him to meet Mia, a woman who captivated him immediately but was off limits.

Mia was somewhat of a mystery in the beginning. She has been hinted at, though only Wade, Hannah and Homer knew of her existence. I will admit to being just as sceptical of her as the rest of the Abbott family. But as her time with Wade increased, I grew to love her and the balance she offered him. Finally, there was someone to pull the quiet Abbott out of his shell. Despite the drama she brought with her to Butler, she is smart, kind, and a wonderful addition to this crew.

These two had a lot to sort out in a very short time. The request Mia delivers shortly after her arrival means there are some massive changes in Wade’s life, massive changes that leave his family scratching their heads in confusion -- Wade is not usually the impulsive type. There were moments where even though they had known each other for two years, things felt like they were moving fast, even for the situation. But I loved the way they worked through their personal issues in order to present a united front for both his family and her demons.

I loved watching the wonder Mia felt as she met more and more of Wade’s family. Not having a large family herself, the entire clan was a lot to take in. It was great checking in with the entirety of the Abbott and Coleman extended family. There are wonderful updates with Ella and Gavin, Hannah and Nolan, and Megan and Hunter. But all of the siblings and cousins are nearby to support the new couple (and rib Wade for his secrecy). There are also some great teasers about the drama building with Lucas and Landon, and it sounds like those twins may be raising a ruckus as usual in the next Butler, Vermont novel!

This newest installment in the Butler, Vermont series is both sweet and sexy, dangerous and comforting. I loved the addition of a bit of suspense with Mia’s background and the tension that came with the danger she was facing.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wade Abbott knew exactly what he wanted when he first laid eyes on Mia Simpson. Fate dealt a nasty hand and took her away from him, but fate has now put her back in his hands. Can these two make it through all the obstacles that face them, taking on everything that comes their way and conquering it together, or will the past tear them apart?

I absolutely love Marie Force. This is my first read in the Abbott family, but I'm definitely going back and catching up. I feel like this is a feel good family that you will immediately fall into feeling like you are one of them. Even though this was #3 in the series, I never felt lost, and followed the plot just fine. I loved how the story had enough suspense, but never too over the top. I've always said second chance reads are some of my favorites, and this one did not let me down!! Can't wait to delve more into Butler, Vermont!!

"Ich kann einfach nicht glauben, dass ich dich jetzt habe und.." OKAY. WE GOT IT.

Ciao. Einfach nur ciao.

I LOVE THE ABBOTT Family!!!!!

I was captivated by Wade and Mia’s story. Returning to Butler, VT and the Abbott family is like coming home. This series is everything I love about a family saga.

Ok so my dilemma… how do I share my love of this story without giving anything away… hmmmmm

I think the first thing to say is that when I put this book down to you know live life… the characters and the story continued to run around in my head.. calling me back to my kindle.

Wade’s personality shown though in this one, no pun intended. I loved the backstory on this quiet Abbott sibling, I adored how Mrs and Mr Abbott’s tried to support him in all aspects of this life (his mom making him veggie chili and using a separate spoon to stir it was so a beautiful example of this mother’s love)

The happy Wade and Mia finds get there is a very untraditional way… but the happy they find is so very perfect in more than one way… nope not telling read the book!

It is so clear the read that Wade and Mia share a unique connection and barely witness to them exploring that was so enjoyable.

Ms Force delivered some beyond funny scenes in this one…. there is a store meeting what was epically funny like true laugh out loud humor with banter that had me re-reading the scene just to enjoy it again.

Speaking of love… I have to say I loved Hannah and Nolan in this one! They are so adorable.

Oh more Abbot love.. Max, Max the youngest Abbott and the single Dad, I am excited to watch Max grow as this series continues and I hope some day we get a happy for him and Caden.

As usually Elmer and Linc steal the end of the booK!

I want to make sure to add the twins Lucas and Landon were hysterical in this one… and now I am very very curious to see how these men find a happy! I hope one of them in next in this series!

Oh I hope we someday get a happy for Mrs. Abbott’s sister, Hannah Coleman. I loved the hint of finally a happy for her and I hope, hope we get to see a happy delivered by Ms Force!

So you see this series is like coming home, visiting with friends, catching up and loving ever moment of it.

I am really enjoying this series.
Even though it has been a while I remember this couple from the beginning. The fact that they get their chance at true happiness well it makes me happy.

There were a few things from the story I didn’t love but that’s ok. I don’t have to love all the details to enjoy the story.

Mia really needed someone on her side and Wade the moment he knew it was her was sunk. I loved that. This family is intriguing and I want more, more, more.

Again I am really loving Joan’s voice and I will be looking for her again.

What a cute book!!! This book is literally sweet as pie in its awesomeness! I am so obsessed with the Abbott family! Believe it or not this was my first book by Marie Force! And boy and I glad that I joined in on this series!  This family is so stinking adorable I just love it! I seriously have to go back and read all of the books in the series!

Two years ago Wade Abbott met a beautiful woman at a yoga retreat. Knowing she was in a relationship he didn't pursue anything but admired from afar. Suddenly Mia Simpson shows up on his doorstep, abused and with a whole heap of trouble!

Wade is AMAZING! He is such a nice guy and totally jumps in to be a hero for Mia after all of the drama that she has gone through! I don't want to give too much away, but I was completely ensnared by how sweet Wade is during this entire book. Such. A. Good. Guy!!! And then there is Mia who has been through way too much! She is strong and independent and it seems as though nothing can get her too down!

This story is told in alternating points of view between Wade and Mia. There are a few sections that are told from various family members. I wish I have read the previous books because I feel as though those interactions would have a bigger impact so I definitely need to go back the series and then come and read this one again!!!

If you are looking for a super sweet book that will keep you smiling, then this is the one for you!

My ARC copy of the book was provided in exchange for a fair, unbiased review.

** ARC kindly provided for an honest review. **

It was my first book by Marie Harte. The blurb was intriguing and I couldn’t wait to read about this two characters.

When Wade and Mia met, it was from the start a powerful pull, but never overstepping the relationship and friendship they shared at a time. Deep connection, huge chemistry but life happened and they parted ways until that moment when Mia came back, turning their lives upside down.

Their story did not start in a conventional way for sure. The thing is, the way it started didn’t take time to set the pace, I was directly dragged into it. I don’t usually mind but surprisingly I didn’t connect right away.

Like Wade’s family, I needed time to get along with it, to get to know them. I wished more development at the beginning to let me enjoy their story at the fullest. Wade and Mia’s story needed more time to work its magic to me but it was getting so much more better throughout the story.

Bringing a lot of baggage from Mia, some uncertainties from Wade but their feelings never changed. But how it’s possible to fall in love with someone you’ve just met? I do believe in strong connections, to find someone and to be drawn, noticing everything about that person.

Overall, I enjoyed the interactions and banter between all the family, coming very easily and naturally in spite of all the siblings and history between all of them. I appreciated to read about a tight family, having each other’s back no matter what, despite the challenges that came across during Wade and Mia’s journey.

Nevertheless, Wade and Mia’s moving story was beautiful, sincere and sweet. It was also great to meet this large household, terribly endearing.

5 Star Review of Here Comes The Sun (Butler, Vermont #3) by Marie Force

Reading a Butler Vermont book to me is like going home to visit my family. I love the Abbott and Coleman families and thoroughly enjoyed Here Comes The Sun.
I have been intrigued by Wade Abbott from the first time he was mentioned and my interest has only been peaked as each book in the series was written. So to say I have been waiting for Wade’s book is an understatement.
Marie Force did not disappoint in any way. It is an extremely well written sweet, sexy and romantic book. Marie Force's characters are often slightly flawed, yet so realistic and relatable that you cannot help but be drawn in. Here Comes The Sun shows us that you when you know it is right, it is right and that no matter what you should follow your heart, even when at times your head is advising caution.
Wade Abbott was enthralled with Mia Simpson from the first time he met her at a yoga retreat 2 years ago and although he has not seen or heard from her in over a year, he has never forgotten the beautiful women who captured his heart.
When Wade finds a nearly frozen Mia unexpectedly on his doorstep he has no intention of turning her away. Obviously she too has felt the pull of attraction, otherwise why would she have shown up in Butler? What follows is a surprising and at times heart wrenching story of determination, courage, strength and above all love and acceptance.
As always we caught up on other members of the family which was great and I read this book in almost one sitting, I was so entranced and riveted to the story. Marie Force. I’ve said it before and I will continue to say it, I would love to be adopted by this family.
This is one of my most favourite series and one I highly recommend. I cannot wait for the next book in the series which promises to be amazing based on the ending in Here Comes The Sun.

Not much in this story resembles real life. I rolled my eyes in disbelief so many times, I can't believe they didn't pop out of my head.

Spoilers below:

Person who was beaten unconscious is having great sex and ice skating 2 days later?

Person in their twenties who has worked multiple jobs and presumably filed several federal tax returns learns their SSN is fake?

Newspaper reporter gets information from a person who was at a yoga retreat with a couple two years prior? Say what?

Ex boyfriend was violent with people who previously tried to help Mia, but somehow never really made any attempt to go after her? Even with all his nefarious friends? Even though her location was made public? Huh? And he just gave up the ghost to authorities because she got married?

I have no problem with sweet, fluffy romances. But there were some seriously heavy issues here that were not dealt with in any realistic way and were instead glossed over as if they were nothing.

Another terrific addition to the Butler, Vermont Series. This one comes with a snowstorm and a frozen surprise visitor on Wade's doorstep which leads to some conflict among the Abbott family -- and a visit from Fred the Moose, too. As always, a trip to Vermont always warms the heart!

Good read, I always love when the Hero of the book meets the Heroine and he is set on her. No one else entered his mind or his bed. I truly do love that. But I wish I had more insight into their first meeting. I felt the connection between Wade and Mia but it wasn't enough for me to truly feel his devotion and preoccupation with her.

Marie Force has a gift for taking the complications of real life and creating stories of inspirational optimism. Here Comes the Sun is a story that blends moments of courage with high octane emotion and the sweetest, yet almost tragic romance. For Mia and Wade love brings surprising twists. Finding a soul mate can either complete your heart or break it in two. Is it worth the risk? A stunningly addictive journey.

I thought that this was going to be the book that would have a plot that sparked at least at little conflict between the main couple instead of being insta love and could nine, but no.

This attempt at a more heavy plot was laughable. Mia had been abused for years, and after a day of being away from that she was already having all nighters with Wade. She had been beaten to a pulp mere days before, so no, I don’t think sex would be something remotely pleasurable with the amount of bruises and injuries she had, and that’s now even to mention the fact that apparently, given what she told Wade at a point, her ex had been raping her for years. Sorry if I’m skeptical about the her being all for having constant sex with a guy that she really doesn’t really know all that well barely a day after she escaped her old abusive life.

This was a failure in so many levels, and this time not even the Abotts made up for it. This is probably the last I’ll be reading of this author, because I was motivated to get to this specific story, and now that I’ve been throughly disappointed in it, and have negative interest in the picture painted for the next installment, it’s time for good bye.

This was definitely a different story than I was expecting, and while I liked it, I didn't love it. I think what I like most about Marie's Gansett Island and Butler, Vermont series is that I know I'm getting a light, easy read with crazy yet lovable families and minimal drama. This story was not that. Mia had a whole lot of drama following her throughout the book, and more than once Wade questioned Mia's motives and sincerity - something else I don't remembering ever coming across with the McCarthys or the Abbotts. While I admire that she went in a different direction with their story, I think what I'm mostly having a problem with is that she took that liberty with THIS series. Not to mention, the set up for the next book in the series has me worried as well. Whether it is Lucas or Landon who finally get their story next, there is sure to be LOTS of family drama, and that worries me.
It was still a great book, and this is still one of my favorite family series to read, but definitely not as light-hearted as the previous books.

3.5* First, I loved the banter with the family, I had many laugh out loud moments. But unfortunately, I didn't love this couple. I didn't really connect with either of them, and the repetitive inner dialogue and what they said to each other over and over, got on my nerves. The whole reason for her running and what was built up as dangerous for her and all involved, turned out very anticlimactic. I'm not even going to go into her odd discovery.... The family made this book bearable. Looking forward to the twins, hope she digs beneath the surface with them.

This is the first Marie Force book I was disappointed in while reading. So much happened that was just so far fetched. I found myself skimming over all the sex scenes after they stopped using condoms. Then I started skimming most of the rest of the book. So many plot holes and everything wrapped up in a bland bow.

Wade doesn´t hesitate one second when Mia asks him to marry her. The moment he knows why, he gets into the action, despite the worries of his big family. Within days he discovers bit by bit a truth that is not only shocking and shows him that trust is something he needs in a relationship but also that his wife has gone through a nightmare. But he is convinced that with his love and the love of his family, everything will turn out good.

With this novel, the author presents a haunting and diverse story with some very erotic parts in it. Good, the actual story, the reason why Mia had come to Wade in the middle of a blizzard, was more of a background story, but that didn´t harm the story.

I like the soft tone the author uses although her figures do not hesitate to speak out what they think. In this book the author went back to the writing style she used during the first books of the Green Mountain series (the name the series is called in Germany) and I am absolutely thrilled, that the quick-wittedness is absolutely blunt and hilarious. A feast for the eyes.

Wade is a down to earth kinda guy who loves to eat as clean as possible and yoga. He is responsible for the drugstore part in the family business and the fact that he and others will soon be learning how to present and sell sex toys is a horror for him. I was literally laying on the floor laughing tears while reading the scenes where he and his other family members get all the necessary information from a woman. Holy smokes!

Mia is a woman who has tried to get out of a bad relationship for a long time. But not before she was able to do something, she felt important to do. The fact that she risked her life to keep others safe and sound, impressed me very much. That woman has heart and courage.

What a fantastic novel! If you like the mountains of Vermont, the landscape and feeling you feel while being there, then this is your book. I could literally picture the little sea they were going to just to have a good time with the rest of the family. And it was absolutely wonderful to see his parents again or Cameron from the first book. Yes, this one is one of the best books of the Green Mountain/Butler Vermont series.

This review was originally posted on Books of My Heart

I received this book for free from Publicity team in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

The Butler Vermont series is the self-published continuation of the Green Mountain series . I would read the Green Mountain series first as it is the basis with developing the town and its characters and I loved so many of these books. The Abbott family, their cousins, and this small town have captured my heart from the first book with Will. Oh Will, how I love thee.

The feel at the start of Here Comes the Sun was a bit romantic suspense. Things moved quickly.  I love the connections and so many of these characters. It felt great to catch up with their lives. The warmth and comfort is from the knowledge of the world and the long-term sense of the characters when this far into the series.  This is why I feel it is important to read the series throughout from the beginning or you miss all those feels, plus some of these are favorites of mine.

Wade is a quieter, more solitary member of the big family, if there is such a thing. I don't feel I still know him as well as some others. Wade and Mia are in a gale storm of events and activity. Luckily, the Abbott family makes it easier, in spite of all their teasing. The humor and banter. understanding the characters, makes it all the more fun. During this book, their Country Store adds a new line they've been preparing - sex toys. The story arc for this, over a few books, has been awesome. Wade and Mia go through some shocks and twists but each book in the series is an HEA. I love this series and always look forward to more!

Giggle-worthy quotes:
"We're introducing a new line of sex toys this month," he said, breaking a long silence.

She turned to him, her cheeks flushed with what might be embarrassment. "Really?"

"Uh-huh."

"Was that your idea?"

"Hell no. It was my dad's."

"I have no idea what to do with that information."

" Come on, Wade." Charley said. "Don't be a pain in the ass. You know what we're asking."

"I learned everything I know about being a pain in the ass from you."

Wade Abbott knows who he wants to spend his life with and that is Mia Simpson. But fate plays a cruel joke as she isn’t free to be anything more than friends. Wade knows his feelings for her are strong but not logical since he thinks she is in an abusive marriage. All it took was one look, one touch from her and he was lost two years before, falling in love with a woman he couldn’t have.

Until she turns up half frozen on his doorstep two years later and all he can do is breathe a sigh of relief she feels as he does but Mia has secrets and those secrets can hurt Wade in many ways. Can these two make a go as a couple even as danger looms behind Mia, a sudden marriage proposal and wedding and the big question is- will Wade’s family ever accept Mia as Wade’s heartmate even with the suddenness of her arrival into their son’s life?
I normally devour this author’s books, especially this series since this is the first one I found of this author’s that had me laughing up a storm while reading and falling in love with a family that is as normal as you and me. But HERE COMES THE SUN fell flat to me and this was why. I could not at all fall in love with Mia as a main character as I did for the other women in the series. She annoyed me to no end and I just could not see how someone who was supposed to be abused act like that in any way.

What I didn’t really like was I think how Mia reacted, when she dropped into Wade’s bed even after being beaten by her ex, skittish at one point then falling all over Wade like he was going to leave her. As a person who has dealt with a physical abusive relationship, this had me not as keen as others were on Wade’s heroine, Mia. I found her to be not as authentic as I would have preferred a character would be dealing with the aftereffects of two years of abuse and more. To me, Mia was just not that enjoyable and I may get flack for saying that, but she just grated on my nerves. I love Wade Abbot and the whole Abbott family. I was eager to see where the author would go for Wade’s story and I just couldn’t get into this one as much as I did the other books in this series as well as in the Green Mountain Series. For me, Mia was fake and just going through the motions of being an abused woman and checking off boxes of what they are like. Check-bruises and emotional beatdown. Check-Fearful and self loathing. Check-Jump at every noise. It all felt off to me within the story. As much as I love the scenes with the Abbotts and all my favorite characters, I was not as enthused about this one as I normally would have been.

HERE COMES THE SUN is a nice story but I didn’t love it as much as I did in the past. Maybe it was because I am sensitive on how a good domestic abuse storyline should be used in a story or the fact I was once a statistic for being in an abusive relationship. Whatever the case, HERE COMES THE SUN is well written, great cast of familiar characters and a tease of a future books has me wondering if the twins will find their own happy ever after plus we got to see Fred, the Moose who I simply adore.

Ms. Force delivers a nice story that you may or may not enjoy depending on your trigger issues but its overall a good book, just not that great in my opinion as past works in the series have been.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement

I couldn’t wait to read this book. It seems like I waited forever. I LOVE this series. It has a very large, quirky family, and this title was about the black sheep of the family. It was a really fun, quick read. As usual, the family dynamics are front and center. This book more than lived up to my expectations. Every character is so vivid, and I want them all to be my friends. I can’t wait for the next one.

Another brilliant instalment of the Abbott family. This time it’s Wade’s turn. I’ve been looking forward to Wade’s story since his confession about the woman he was interested in in Hannah’s book (I Want to Hold Your Hand). This story is probably the darkest of the series so far but still has plenty of the light hearted Abbott moments that I love about the series. Without giving too much away, my absolute favourite part was the wedding rings ❤️. Looking forward to the next instalment.

The synopsis to this book is what drew me in along with the fact that Marie Force has always been a reliable author for me. I read the first 5 books in the Green Mountain series and while not caught up on every character, I found it easy to dive in without feeling like I missed out.

While I enjoyed the book well enough, this is probably the least favorite of her books so far. My very favorite part of the story all involved Fred the moose and other characters. For some reason I just didn't connect well to Wade and Mia. The story seemed very repetitive at times as well.

The premise of an abused woman finding her real love/second chance romance(ish) plot was ok but I've read much better executions of the general storyline. I suppose I was just underwhelmed. The ending was lackluster and left me wanting more. More action, more something.

Again, not all was lost. I love the other characters in this series and catching up with them was fantastic. I'm not giving up on this series and I am looking forward to future book. This one just hit the 'it was ok' mark for me instead of being great.
