When Trista St. Paul gets the opportunity to leave her home in St. Lucia to work on one of the largest Afro-Caribbean Carnivale’s to hit the streets of Chicago, she jumps at the chance to bring some island flavor to the city. Even better, she gets to work with one of her closest friends too. Maceo is everything she’s never wanted in a man, which makes him the best guy-friend a girl could ask for!

Single dad, Maceo Alexander-Baptiste, has been waiting for the chance to take a much-needed vacation and Chicago sounds like the perfect place. He’s spent years growing his graphic design business and creating promo for this event is easy work. Working alongside long-time friend, Trista, is icing on the already sweet cake.

Years ago, Trista threw Maceo into the friend zone faster than he could blink. So, Maceo may be in the windy city to work, but he’s also determined to make her see that they may be great friends, but they’re way better lovers.

This was a cute friends to lovers story. I like how Green always crossovers her stories so we can see some of her characters we’ve grown to love. After reading this story I’m ready for a Caribbean escape and to go to a Carnivale to turn up. #friendstolovers #bestfriendsmakesthebestmates #romancedoneright

Summer Kisses is a hot and spicy friend to lovers read. Trista St. Paul had a crush on her long-time best friend, Maceo Alexander-Baptiste, since they were kids, but she learned to compartmentalize their relationship and keep him in the friend zone. Unbeknown to Trista, Maceo had deep feelings for her that ran way back to their childhood days. Nor did she know that Maceo’s days for keeping his feelings at bay were running out. When the right opportunity presented itself, and they both found themselves single, Maceo put it all out on the line and made the first move. He held nothing back when it came to him expressing what he wanted from Trista. Straight, no chaser, and to the point. He could not take the chance of her not having clarity or dismissing him, for Trista was a shoot it to me straight, don’t beat around the bush type of girl. Not to mention smart and sexy with all the curves in all the right places.
Who knew that a business trip to the largest Afro-Caribbean Carnivale in Chicago, providing both a change of scenery from St. Lucia would forever change their strictly platonic relationship? This was supposed to be a work opportunity for a change of scenery and a great opportunity for them both to work in their perspective gifts of graphic design and event planning. With Maceo changing the game plan of the trip, Trista is in for the ride of her life as she tries to keep their friendship at bay. Being in close living quarters and her burning desire and attraction to Maceo does not make things easy, especially when he knows her so well.
Sherelle Green brings the fire and fuel-burning chemistry that ignite the pages with scorching flames when it comes to Maceo and Trista. Summer Kisses is an enjoyable quick read full of excitement, drama, and romance to keep you turning the pages until the very end. You will not be disappointed.

LOVED IT !

This was such a sweet short story. I wasn’t sure how Sherelle Green was going to hit all the elements that it took to write a good story I such a short story, But let me tell you she did that and more❤️

Maceo and Tristian had been best friends for a life time and Tristian knew that she was no where near being her best friends type. So it was a no brainer when the two of them were invited to Chicago to bring their expertise and help with Chicago’s Carnivale. Little did she know that Maceo had a whole different mindset as it related to there trip. Business with Carnaivale was not the only thing he wanted to take care of while in Chicago.

I don’t want to spoil it so I’ll just say Read this short story it will leave a smile on your face and your heart ❤️❤️

Forever Island Bae/Boo/Lover

One of my favorite authors, I adore Ms Sherelle Green’s work, even in the midst of complex characters and or storylines (IE: The Crowne Legacy series 🤎& Madden clan 🤎💐👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽🥰‼️)She’s is the consummate creative/innovative literary professional. “Summer Kisses: Carnivale Chronicles is another example of her literary expertise. This book & characters crappled my interest from the prologue to her he epilogue. Trista was always Maceo’s island friend/bae/boo/lover & future Mrs. Sometimes we are our own bae-blocker 🤷🏾‍♀️‼️T & M, though fictional you two aren’t absolved from the acute bae-blocker tendencies
😂🤣. Thereafter, I’m looking forward to SK updates🥰‼️

I am happy to find out this story would feature Trista and Maceo. I love how the author incorporated Trista and Maceo's story in this anthology.

So, the history is that Trista friend-zoned Maceo before they both could explore what was obvious to everyone except them. After their expert talents are requested by the committee of Chicago Carnival, Maceo decides he would not miss the opportunity to make clear his intentions of coming out of the friend zone and be front and center in her heart.

I recommend this one for your reading pleasure!

Straight no Chaser is exactly what this book was, I loved that it got right down to the point without all that unnecessary fluff, Maceo was not playing when it came to his feelings for Trista, even though it took them a while to reveal their true feelings to each other I strongly believe everything happens for a reason and it’s season. I love children in books, because they get away with so much Coop made me laugh and was my favorite character.

Great read

Friends to lovers is one of my all time romance genres. Maceo and Trista long time friends who had tapped down and his their feelings for each other for years. Loved reading their story as well as catching up on a few old characters like Meeka and Tone, Khloe and Kadaris, Miss Geraldine and a mention of the legendary Miss Peaches.

Life changes for Trista and Maceo, when they travel from their homeland of St Lucia to Chicago. These two life long friends have to now work together daily. Avoiding each other is not going to be easy, not to mention Ms. Geraldine is stirring the pot. Loved it.

It was destined for their relationship to begin the way it did. But Meeka's directions was an order not a suggestion. One of the funniest parts of the book.

Maceo & Trista were sooooo cute from beginning to end. They always say best friends make the best lovers. Well this couple definitely tested that theory. When you are off you own turf and on neutral ground it allows each of you to explore what really is happening. To know how far they came in friendship and to see the love blossom to a new level was awe inspiring. This story is definitely a must read. Friends to lovers make the best stories
