I found Gundi's book on home-based jobs and businesses to be exceptional. This is the most comprehensive list of home-based job opportunities I've come across and includes options for quick cash, home-based businesses, and franchise opportunities. She doesn't leave you hanging. She provides resources in this book that pay for themselves. Avoid scams and get this book!
Gundi has done an excellent job presenting jobs and business ideas that can be carried out in virtually any manner. Whether you want to keep your '9-5' or leave, there is something in this book that will either work for you, or provide a starting point for more research.
"Top Home-Based Job and Business Ideas for 2020" is a decent guide for those looking to explore remote work options and start their own businesses from home. The book provides a broad range of ideas and suggestions, covering various industries and sectors, which can be helpful for readers seeking inspiration.
One of the strengths of the book is its practical approach and inclusion of actionable advice. The author provides tips, resources, and success stories that can offer guidance and motivation to readers as they embark on their home-based ventures. Additionally, the book takes into account the impact of technological advancements and market demands specific to the year 2020, making it somewhat relevant and up-to-date.
However, there are a few areas where the book falls short. Firstly, the coverage of each idea feels somewhat superficial, lacking in-depth exploration and specific action steps. Readers may have benefited from more detailed information and practical guidance to navigate the complexities of each opportunity.
Furthermore, the writing style could have been more engaging and captivating. The book often reads like a dry list of ideas without much storytelling or personal anecdotes to bring the concepts to life. This can make it difficult for readers to stay fully engaged throughout the book.
Lastly, the book could have provided more insights into the potential challenges and risks associated with each home-based job or business idea. Understanding the potential pitfalls and obstacles upfront is essential for readers to make well-informed decisions and manage their expectations.
In conclusion, "Top Home-Based Job and Business Ideas for 2020" offers a decent starting point for individuals exploring remote work opportunities and home-based businesses. While it provides a range of ideas and some practical advice, it lacks depth, engaging writing, and a comprehensive understanding of the potential challenges. If you're looking for a basic overview and some initial inspiration, this book may suffice, but don't expect it to be a comprehensive guide for navigating the complexities of starting a successful home-based career or business.
What I like about this book: 1) it connects straight to the website 2) it has a category and description of what the gig is about 3) most of the sites are currently working 4) these are professional development services 5) these sites are listed under categories so you don't have to waste time What I don't like about this book: 1) some of the websites are out of date 2) some of the websites are purely informative 3) some of the websites are just for information gathering and don't have actual gigs, jobs, or employment opportunities. All in all this is a pretty good book and could give leads to lucrative business opportunities.
The book is true to its title, with no extra fluff thrown in. The author systematically goes through all the types of home based income options, provides not only explanations, but also examples that are hyperlinked to the appropriate web page. I can’t tell you how helpful that last point is, because most books like this don’t do that. Highly recommend the book.
This book was very well written and a great read. The information was very good and the ideas were great. I'm looking forward to applying these techniques.
Great ideas and links. It was very straight to the point but still provided plenty of info. I liked that you could skip to the sections you most needed thanks the organization.
Home-Based Jobs and Business By Gundi Gabrielle This is the author who started me on the self-publishing route and I have LOVED all her books since then. This one is an exception to the rule. I adored it. Can’t believe the sheer number of ideas, many I had never even imagined in my wildest dreams. Actually 127 but who’s counting? Stay in bed for 70 days and get paid for it. Come on. Really? But it’s true and the other 218 pages are jam-packed with ways of making money. Mostly from home. Except the travel ones, of course. There are links to gain more information on every page. Often 2 or three links. This info includes cheat-sheets, videos, downloadable ebooks, in-depth ‘how-to guides’ from experts in the various fields, reports and everything in between. Some of the ideas I bookmarked to return to as follows: Teach your passion, review new music; and books, (and some not for me - Where do these ideas come from? Selling used make-up, selling customer receipts?). What about selling cardboard boxes? Never thought about that, did you? Me neither. Most of the opportunities are American as is to be expected, but Gundi points out the ones that are international. Some even in Australia. Way cool. And what about providing a welcome service to people visiting your home town. Yep. I like that one. Virtual Bookkeeping is another one I’ll be telling a friend about. And writing, of course. Gundi is the reason behind my own book. That’s enough. Even if you are not looking for a job, or a side hustle, this book is a must-read. You will be blown away by the research Gundi has done and the huge number of things anyone can do. Even me. Entertaining is not the half of it. Read it for fun. Just read it. Mind-boggling doesn’t even come close. Great work. I am so excited and looking forward to reading it again, to figure out exactly what I will do. 1 million stars.
I've been working my way through Gundi Gabrielle's backlist for the last month. She's got a lot of books that are all easy reads, and while not exactly the easiest tactics to put into practice (I'm talking more the books on writing/blogging), they're filled to the brim with information that can be utilized right now to see results. This book is no exception. There are so many things in this book that I never even thought of in regards to an at-home job. For example, I didn't know mock jurors were a thing. I got called to jury duty a few months back and was dreading it, but I found out that my aunt actually enjoys jury duty and the entire judicial process. She's currently retired but in need of money. I recommended this book to her for that reason alone. I hope she got the book and looks into it. I think it could be an interesting second career for her twilight years. I told so many people about this book (I got an influx of people bemoaning job searches this weekend. The fact that I was reading this book seems extremely coincidental). I highlighted a lot of things that I want to put into practice and even got an idea for a book I could write using her Kindle Publishing book, which she advertises in this book. I'm a Gundi Gabrielle fan for life. She puts in the legwork to make things easier for the rest of us.
Well... I was pleasantly surprised to find interesting job avenues I had never thought of before. Gundi has covered a lot of groundwork to list all the ones she has, so I commend her on that. It just goes to show how many opportunities are really out there.
One I tested was doing website and mobile testing, so I gave that a shot, did a test and became a tester. The only thing I have with this model is that so many people are trying to do the same thing, so it was unavailable as so many were already doing it. If you have the persistance it may be okay for you. However, that is just one job option amongst all her other suggestions.
Gundi brings to light that there ARE many opportunities out there and it is an eye-opener, so thank you. My only criticism is that quite a number of ideas are only based in America, so that's out for me. Having said that, it is still very much worth reading and makes you wonder what else is available out there. I am still thinking of trying a handful of ideas in the book and particularly one business venture I hadn't thought of, was staring me right in the face. So that was a plus.
All her books are worth reading and cost very little so they're really worthy of buying. Her reading style is easy to grasp and full of nuggets of information believe me [and I'm an infopreneur].
The other one she has is 597 Business Ideas which I haven't finished just yet, so I am definitely going to go back and finish it now.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is a wealth of information at your fingertips. There are over 100 jobs listed, and for each section, there's information about the job itself, required experience, hyperlinks, and free courses.
When you're reading this book, it is going to get the wheels turning in your head about job opportunities. I found myself saying "Oh, I could do that" many times while reading this book. With so many professions and jobs listed, there is no way to remember everything. I actually read the book twice before writing this review because of opportunities that peaked my interest.
I liked how the second part of the book is organized by hobbies and interests. I'm actually a fashion merchandising college graduate. Virtual stylists and personal shopper are right up my alley. Until reading this book I've never considered mystery shopping over the phone. I may have to give that a try.
With the cost of living rising and traditional 9 to 5 pay staying the same for many people, getting a job that may be one of your hobbies could turn into a lucrative dream career and that doesn't sound bad to me at all.
I felt this book started off strongly, but then became too focused on leading the readers to the author`s other books. There was a lot of white space that basically redirected the reader to previous parts of the book. Then there were parts that gave very minimal information, because the author wanted readers to buy the books she had written previously on those topics. There were too many outside links to click through, and only one or two interested me enough to seek out additional information on those topics. The two work-at-home blogs that I subscribe to offer much better, and more in depth, information than this book gave. If you are someone just starting out in researching basic information on possible home-based jobs/careers, then this book might be for you.
I live in Australia so a lot of the compiled lists of companies didn't apply to me but it's given me sooooo many ideas and I'll be googling for the equivalent in my country. All of the obvious home businesses I've been advertised to death by weren't in here which was refreshing. Gundi has well researched this book for excellence alternatives and i love that. Here's an example: I run 25km a day and right after learning about Steps for $ i joined. I calculated that I'd make $200 if everyone stuck to their commitment (not everyone will = more $ for me). Now im making money doing something that i was doing for free :) It's not a business obviously but that $ will pay for my next pair of runners. Her Passive Income book is another eye opener if your still wanting more.
Useful, but many items are unfortunately US-specific
I’ve read several books by this author, and they genwrally are very good - clear and articulate.
This one has some of these qualities, but I live in Australia, and plenty of the links in this book are for those in the US.
The author notes this early on, and recommends just googling keywords related to the book category, adding your country/city name. Understandable, but I got this book for recommendations backed by author research.
I also found many categories in this book were not relevant to me - cooking, fashion, etc.
But a few ideas had potential, and I’m going to investigate those.
This books provides you with an abundance of ideas and resources to help make your journey to a new career/side hustle much easier. Gundi Gabrielle takes the guesswork out of locating useable resources and places those tools in your hands; allowing you to focus on what you really need, taking action.
Read this book if you are ready for the next step. This information is invaluable for both young and skilled professionals. The lists and links are available for you and they provide a wealth of options.
I’ve bought a lot of self-help books on many topics. Most give you theory with a few examples. All of Gundi’s book include examples, step-by-step actions and tremendous guidance. After reading this book and any of Gundi’s book, there is no way not be successful. Although this book provide over a hundred ideas for home-based businesses, thousands of idea can come to mind because this book gives your creativity and passion wheels.
She is brilliant! Have you ever thought that I wish I can do THAT for a job. I just get you will find it here. Actually , don't and steal all my gigs. My head is spinning trying to decide what to do first. Maybe the $19,000 NASA job. While doing THAT, I can organize myself for other jobs. I'm so excited! She wrote the book the we all needed. Actually, she wrote a SERIES we all need. Stop what you are doing and buy this book now!
This is basically a list of ideas for what are realistically side businesses. It’s a good, well-researched list, as far as I can tell. I’m familiar with the print on demand area having been designing merch for that since 2014 and the description is accurate though it’s hard to make much money or stand out due to the extreme competition in the field. Any of these ideas could be good for you if you’re also good at marketing.
I did not know so many opportunities already exist!
It was very interesting how everything is shown, is like a trip where you always find something better in the next block. I could not imagine I could have so many income streams at the same time. Will put to work with some of them.
Within one week of reading this book, I was hired for a full-time job and also have a part-time position pending. We've also expanded my partner's consultancy and even found work that our teen can't wait to start! If you're open to work, there's plenty here to choose from. This book is pure gold.
