Loyalty.
Family.
Power.

A code I never knew existed until now.
A code that could destroy us all.

Drowning in the sins of our fathers, everything is coming to a head.
It’s sink or swim time.
Too bad I’m already drowning…

Pocketful of Us is the fourth and concluding book in the Pocket series. Because of its explicit sexual content, mature themes, bully themes, potential triggers, and bad language, it is suitable for mature readers.

***4,25 "All I have to do is Dream!!!" stars***

And the final book is here and we can say that this series is finally complete...
This book was a freakin' race in every aspect... A race of survival for all of our characters... Especially for Sketch and Romi!!!

"War came in lots of different shades and forms.
Evil didn't just come in the form of horrid dictators in foreign lands.
It was right under my nose..."

In here, all the questions are finally got answered and the surprise of what had happened after all was too big!!!
Romi is fighting to stay alive in unknown waters and the surprises are not stop coming on her way...
Sketch is crazy without her and he is determined to do anything to find his girl, no matter what he had to give up to do it...
Poor Presley, just wants to help his friends and he is getting himself all the time in big troubles...
Those three are a strong unit who look after each other!!!

"You were the greatest friend I never knew I had. Still are..."

Now, honestly, i'm not sure that i can say much more, since this is the final book and i have to be very careful with my words!!!
In each passing book, the mystery is growing up and the things are getting more complicated than before.... But everything in here had its purpose!!!
And finally, the salvation will come to our heroes... In which way, it's not clear!!! But it will!!!

"I needed my girl, dammit.
She was the realest thing about my life.
She was the realest thing about me.
Without her, I was lost."
,/i>

Unfortunately, the ending left me a little bit unsatisfied in weird ways!!! Unfortunately, i can't reveal why i feel that way, since i don't like making spoilers!!!
I just wish some things to had end up differently!!! But that was Chloe's story and i accept it! And who knows??? Maybe Romi, Sketch and Presley will sneak up inside another one of Chloe's story!!! Ugh????

"I'm so sorry for being the very worst version of myself during a time in your life when you needed my best version..."

▹My ⭐ Rating: ★★ out of 5
▹Format: 🎧Audiobook
▹TL;DR Review: last of 4 books. I’m relieved…Would have liked the series better if it was all one book. But still wasn’t my favorite.

─────────────────────────

○★○ What to Expect from This Book: ○★○

FMC: Ramona “Romi” Dillon. I can’t with her
MMC 1: Holden “Sketch” Capaldi. learns that he’s about to enter an identity crisis
MMC 2: Quinton Presley. a comedic relief
Location: Pocketful, Louisiana (fictional town) and Italy
POV: Three first-person POVs
Spice: 1 closed-door (MM) and 1 open-door (MF) spice scene
Tropes: mystery/suspense, cliffhanger, small town, high schoolers, buried memories
Triggers: nefarious parents, being shot, abduction, sex trafficking, unplanned pregnancy, murder, graphic forced suicide, shootout

─────────────────────────

🎯 My Thoughts:

The language used in this series is…something else.

I think if you look at all four books and imagine them as one—this has a lot of interesting elements. It was for sure a wild ride…but was just OK in execution.

Separating the books really took me out of it. The first book was just one big miscommunication, the second book was probably my favorite because it started thickening the plot, the third book was too short which made parts of it confusing, and this fourth one was a cluster.

My thoughts while reading:
-Did I miss something? HOW did Seth find the ex con hangout where Sketch was holing up? Wasn’t it in Colorado?

-Was Seth really erotically flirting with Presley while a drug cartel guy was snorting coke five feet away?

-Did Romi’s dad really TRADE her for her secret twin brother? Did Romi really HAVE a secret twin brother?

-Did Romi really save her life by singing a song mid being drowned by her captor? Huh? And then she befriended him immediately after he stopped?

-That ending?? What?!? It pmo. Why. Tf Presley

huh. I don’t know. I definitely liked more the first two books. I was going to do a long review, but I’m not feeling it. I just wanna say that the big scene at the end was literally a shitshow, it was death after death and we didn’t have the chance to see how they all dealt with that. A lot of things were brushed off and I don’t know. The idea was there, I just think the execution wasn’t the best. Some of the dialogue was a bit too much, at the beginning was appreciated, but like the situation got serious and I just hmmm, I don’t know.

Oh and the new heir situation with Romi, super predictable and didn’t liked that the story went there (even though I understand why it did).

Pocketful of Us blew my mind. Honestly, it was THAT GOOD that after I finished reading I just sat there while I decided if I wanted to start a reread of the series immediately. That happens like... never for me. Usually once I’ve finished a book or series I’m done with it and moving on.

POU had everything in it that I could want in a book. Love and friendship. Angst and heartbreak. Sexy times and hot lead character. A funny and witty sidekick who had me in stitches from laughing so much. I was laughing hard at one point and then bawling like a baby a bit latter.

The storyline was bloody brilliant. I did not expect half of what happened. It totally took me by surprise which I love as a lot of books can be predictable.

Somehow (in a good way) Chloe managed to tie up all the loose ends of the series in Pocketful of Us. Well, all apart from maybe one teeny tiny little part. Maybe! We’ll have to see if there will be more books down the track. Fingers crossed there are as I bloody love these characters.

This series started really well. I was drawn in, intrigued and didn't skim.

Unfortunately the last book of the series was really really bad. OTT but in a cheesy trying to be a Mafia b grade movie, predictable kind of way. It was so ridiculous. And made worse by the secondary character Presley who was I guess supposed to bring comic relief but was just so completely ridiculous that it just made the whole debacle pathetic.

Such a shame that the author took it the direction she did. She can write. And well. This could have been a solid book with a dark underline. Instead it was stupid. Dumb. Ridiculous. OTT.

What happened??

The first three books were amazing in this series but I just felt this was so rushed and the ending was seriously disappointing... just my opinion of course but I couldn’t connect with the characters in this book and I just felt like it was all so far fetched and unbelievable.

The first book was okay. That's all. Just okay. There were a few moments that drew me in but it wasn't enough.

I skimmed through most of the books, especially when both main characters would continuously bicker. It was the same conversation over and over again. You only find out something from their past in book 3 and 4 and can honestly say it wasn't worth it.

I get the whole mob life and danger factor but neither of the main characters seemed to get it and would either yell everything and storm off or completely ignore the warnings they were given.

The one character I liked was Presley. He was funny, smart and witty but even he couldn't stop me from skimming 85% of the series. I'm sad I wasted so much time on it.

The series as a whole is 3.5 stars. I really liked the beginning but I have a bone to pick. I’ll let it be said that I hate the trope where there’s twins and the heroine loves one but is with the other she doesn’t love. And then surprise! The twin she’s with is actually gay. It’s a copout.

The entire series is entertaining but felt...childish? I rolled my eyes so many times because it was completely ridiculous. Entertaining but still ridiculous. The main characters felt stiff and a little boring at times.

The reason the series even gets 3 stars is because I absolutely adored Quinton! Omg he had me in stitches. Love him to pieces♥️

What a journey!!!

As a whole, this series was a 4★ to me. I loved the first two books but the ending was not as enjoyable as the first ones. However, I really like the story!

In the beginning I felt like this was a combo with “the inheritance games” and “never never” and I was 100% invested in the story and always on the edge of my seat.

Do not get me wrong, I ADORED the main couple but I did not enjoy the resolution and the mystery solution. I was expecting something a little different.

No matter what, I still recommend a LOT this series!! I love Chloe writing and how she does the soulmates in every book. Also, Quinston POV was amazing and I still want to read more about him!!

Pocketful series! 😮‍💨‼️
5⭐️

✨Y’all already heard me talk about this, I’m serious, I devoured these in 2 days! Romeo and Juliet type vibes, with some mafia family, secrets, lies, and mystery mixed in! 🙌🏻 The covers make it seem super spicy, but it’s not. Like maybe one or two scenes in each book! 😮‍💨 I loved the characters so much and in true Chloe fashion the storytelling and plot were excellent! ALSO a side character that made me laugh like Gibby made me laugh in Binding 13, he was soooo funny! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🥰

✨I WISHED for more at the end, but honestly that was me just not ready to be done! 😅

A Presley debe dolerle la espalda de acarrear con toda la serie. Fue sin duda el mejor personaje de todos. Mi chico vio a un claro villano a los ojos y aún así se lo dio, porque estaba horny y ya. Lo amo.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh! This cannot be the end!

OK so first things first no matter what I say from here I loved this book!

I loved it but I cannot end here! I need more!

Yes, yes, yes we got our ending kinda but was it a happy ending not really? Maybe? Is it as good an ending we can hope for them? No!

We know what happened, who did what, how we got where we were, who was at fault, who the liars and the tratories were so I should be happy shouldn't I? And I am, I truly am this book was amazing the twists and turns the enemies everything was brilliant, especially the cameos from lucky and noah.

But! I want more. I want Presley to have his own book as the key player not the amazing seci dary character as that boy needs to shine on his own and I believe that he will not like a lose end and could be the guy who can solve it all.

I need to know if Sketch and Romi actually manage to keep the kinda happy end g or does destiny find them and drag them back to fulfill what was meant to be?!!

Like I said an amazing read and I cannot fault it and if the devil that is Chloe Walsh leaves it there I will be happy as the story was fantastic but being the tease she is, she left one little comment at the end - that's is all for the Capaldi's for now!
And that for now will forever play in my mind that I can get more and I want more! I need more and I need it soon!

Loved the series read it, love and pray along with me that the genius will give in to her mastermind and give us just a little more! X

Books 1-2 were amazing
Nothing really happens in book 3, it’s like filler
Book 4 is like a mafia rom com while book 1 was a thriller?
This books tone changed from the first novels. In my mind this series is now a duopoly.

I’m obsessed with the whole angel thing, it melts my heart.

The romance kind of got repetitive and it took too long for characters to find out what was revealed earlier and then it was explained again.

Presley went from a Connor Cobalt type of character to a character whose whole personality is that he’s horny and gay. I get annoyed when gay characters are reduced to their sexuality, It was used as comedic relief during tense situations. His character used to be my favorite. And he ends up with the guy who is evil. I also never really saw him grieve his bf’s death.

Happy Romi and Sketch got a HEA. Lowkey I’m a bit confused and I think they’re technically like 3rd cousins which weirds me out slightly.

This one completely changed vibes from books 1&2.

I liked the flashbacks.

Overall Majority of the series was really good and I would recommend.

Also, the covers are so scandalous and embarrassing but there are only 2 sex scenes in all 4 books and they’re not very descriptive. They’re quickies. I think this has less sex than YA books like the Shatter Me series or ACOTAR.

Spoiler

A lot of trauma for Sketch in the last chapter and I think his consolation is that he’s going to be a dad?

Sheesh! Most of the characters...well, OK all of the characters in "Pocketful" were maniacs in one way or another.
But my favorite crazy person is QUINTON PRESLEY. Yes, he was like a saving grace to what could have been a dark, barbaric book full of broken whackos. His witty and quirky nature, though it could make your eyes roll at times was so much entertaining.

So this book is basically about how a single man's cruelty, greed, thirst for power as Cosa Nostra, vengeance affect their heirs and how the MCs the heirs of said mafia bosses lived a life of lie and loved each other fiercely despite their families wanting to tear them apart. Also add in some mix of cruel murders, kidnapping, abuse, gunfires, then tada! We get a recipe for Pocketful.

The author wrote so beautifully when it comes to Sketch's and Romi's relationship. Especially Sketch's expression of his love was so endearing and touching despite their age. Yeah we are talking about teenage love, where they love each other more intensely and more passionately than adults, at the same time sweet and innocent as first love would be, but again broken and traumatized for such a young age. It's more like they are each others lifeline, addiction.

𝑰 𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓. "𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕, 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕, 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅." 𝑰 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒔. "𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕, 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕, 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓." 𝑮𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑰 𝒕𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒏𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓. "𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒊 𝑫𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈."

The thing I liked most about this series was Sketch. Yes, he was so genuine and fierce in his love for Romi, stayed true to her even when he had to see her dating his brother and most of all doesn't stray away from his feelings. If it was any other book the hero would have played the field of girls available to him in the name of repressing the pain, of getting over the heroine, of trying to move on....what not kind of excuses for him being a manwhore. So it was very nice and refreshing for once to see the hero staying true to his feelings for the heroine and having none of the OW drama. Yeah, Sketch our hero was a virgin in this book inspite of him having a row of admiring girl fans. He's a goddamn wonder in contemporary books world.

What pissed me was that, for the whole series, Sketch and Romi were in denial of their past or their circumstances, they turn a blind eye even when the truth hits their faces which was frustrating at times as a reader. Even so Romi, because it's clear she knows everything that's happened but God her refusing to think, to remember grated on my nerves. She's a girl only driven by emotions instead of logic. As also Sketch.

Overall the book was engaging with angst, action, trauma, some humor and a beautiful young love.

(Seriously this series could have been completed as a duet instead of four short books. Why the author decided it to be a four book series, I have no idea.)

#1 ↣ Pocketful of Blame: ★★★¾
#2 ↣ Pocketful of Shame: ★★★★★
#3 ↣ Pocketful of You: ★★★★
#4 ↣ Pocketful of Us: ★★★

I made it to the end, and this was one hell of a ride.

Romi Dillon and Sketch Capaldi, with the aid of their friend Presley, have finally figured out the secrets and lies that their families are entangled with. But now, they must make their way back to each other before they're separated forever. Lives are lost, loyalties are tested, and loved ones are found.

Romi and Sketch? They represented the loved-you-since-my-childhood, no-one-else-will-ever-do trope to a tee. Presley? You either want to shut him up permanently, or let him jabber on and on to capture the utter hilarity that comes out of his mouth. And I'm glad all the other characters decided on the latter when it comes to him. If Pres were in any other mafia book, he would've been shot in the first chapter.

I think my main problem with this installment was how satirical it came off to be compared to the other books; every single character was impulsive, and all their traits became over-the-top. Pocketful of Us is by far the most farfetched book of this series. Emotions were running so high that none of characters were thinking clearly. I think that's why I started to feel a disconnect from the characters.

Also, I'm all about the characters getting it on, but come on—keep your pants on during a shootout. And why did my man Presley end up being someone's sidepiece? Not a mistress, but a mister. (By the way, a mister to someone who would happily kill off Sketch and Romi.) That epilogue left me very high and dry.

This series was engaging because of the twists and turns, the humor, and the utter ridiculousness of it all. It's a little bit of a paradox; there's dark subject matter—ranging from abuse, to all the violence you can imagine—but there's a blatant lightheartedness to it. Definitely one of the quirkiest and most comedic mafia stories I've ever read.

Notes on safety (SPOILERS):
➛ No cheating.
➛ No OM/OW drama (except for the whole h dating H's pseudo-twin who happens to be gay).
➛ h and H were each other's firsts and only's.

WOW! That was an ending! I really liked this series. It was a wild ride with so many twists and turns! Honestly, I saw a lot of them coming but the anticipation was like waiting for that drop on a rollercoaster.

Spoilers Below:

I did go with 4 stars because I did feel like the ending was a bit rushed and a few other reasons I listed below..

1. I wanted to see more interaction with Romi and Seth. Romi always came off as a sentimental girl to me. She finds out she has a twin and it didn't seem to affect her how I thought it would.

2. Ughh the big "battle! Where do I even start..

The treehouse seen was just weird. Romi and Sketh are fighting to stay alive. Sketch's Dads were on the grounds trying to help, Seth just killed your long-time butler in front of you, and you think it's a good idea to get intimate? I get you missed each other BUT SERIOUSLY!?

PLUS Seth and Presley. What?! Let's think about this from Presley's perspective.. you know this guy is setting up your best friend. You think he's good-looking. Met him once. He pushes you into a closet, starts making out with you, and you just go with it? You don't think he's up to something? OH and said closet is in your old boyfriend's family home. It was weird.

Lastly, I'd hoped we would see how the dynamic with Chris, Raeff, and Sketch would have played out. The author wanted to add some shock value obviously and I'm still salty about it.

OHH and Seth just let them go free? Why? The guy seemed like an icebox.

Lot's of WTH moments at the end there but I did enjoy the series. I'm excited to read other books by Chloe Walsh. Good writing and very addictive!

I read the whole series in three days, I think that says enough?

I ADORE Sketch💫 His possessiveness about Romi, the way he loves her and the fact that there is nothing he would not do for her...This guy would dig a hole in the ground and bury himself in it if it meant she was fine.Tell me about love without limits.

At first, he annoyed me that he didn't realize that she was silent about everything in order to protect him, I wanted him to have the power to be able to read her thoughts and shorten the suffering for both them and me. But I understand everything he did, but I also understand her.

His story and how much he suffered, I'm glad he has her it in the end...

For Romi I have applause, all credit to her for everything she has survived and how much she has remained normal.  I know I wouldn't.Thanks to her for not giving up on him❤

Presley is the friend we all want, minus sleeping with the enemy but I sincerely want to read his story with the evil twin if there is one.  Our Presley is needed dose of humor in this book, I laughed with him so sweet.

All in all, I read the series in one breath, I love that the book it goes on toes around everything until your brain blows when you understand everything.  Hard story and read the warnings before you start reading and if you don't have a problem with them, I wholeheartedly recommend it, hard story but with a happy ending ...

Quotes:

"I'm in love with you. I always have been and I always will be. I don’t want anyone else. I want all of your messes and I want all of the fucked-up complications that come with you. I want you to love me back, and keep loving me back, even when it's not good for you. I want to be with you. I want to be inside you, I just want you all the time. Day and night. Forever and always. It might be unhealthy and wrong, but there it is. Hell, maybe I'm co-dependent on you and my feelings are all kinds of fucked up. Or maybe this is what being in love feels like for everyone. I honestly have no idea." He touched his brow to mine, his breath fanning my face. "All I know is when you're hurting, I'm hurting. You call and I come running. Every single time. That's how deep our connection runs, Romi Dillon. So yeah, I do know you're going to be okay, I can say it, because I know there's no other option. Not in my life. You have to be okay." He stroked his nose with mine. "No Romi. No Sketch."

Holy hot dogs! There were a whole lot of secrets that wrapped up all the mysteries and questions from the other books in the series. I loved reading about how Ro and Sketch fixed their broken relationship and got closure about their pasts, with the help of Presley of course. I'm literally screaming because of all the emotional torture I went through while reading this. I binge read all 4 books today and I have done nothing else because the story line was so riveting. However, I feel like the books individually were a tad short (fewer than 200 pgs).

The story and characters itself were very well-written. All the flashbacks and POV changes killed me because just when something was about to happen, BAM it got cut off. I loved all the characters, but I think Presley stood out the most because he was just so darn funny and loyal; he's definitely the type of person I would like to have as a friend.

The ending was very good, but I don't feel fully satisfied about it.

If you're ready for an emotional rollercoaster with small-town secrets, broken hearts, and characters you’ll fall head over heels for, look no further.

Pocketful of Blame, Pocketful of Shame, Pocketful of You, and Pocketful of Us are all told in first-person from Romi, Sketch, and Prestley’s points of view—and they’re ALL currently free on Audible until August 5th!

Romi’s story is raw and intense. After a devastating accident that killed her boyfriend (who just happened to be her ex’s twin brother), she’s branded by her town as the villain. But no one is more brutal than the boy who once promised to protect her, Sketch.

There’s love. There’s trauma. There’s that constant what happened between them? question that pulls you deeper into every chapter. And then there’s Prestley, the absolute MVP of comic relief and loyalty. I’m obsessed 🫶 (Pocketful's Gibsie)

Trigger warning: this series does discuss suicide and bullying, so please take care before diving in.

But if you loved Binding 13 series, and crave a story packed with pain, passion, and powerfully written relationships, add this one to your TBR ASAP.

Review for all 4 books

Wow, I wasn't sure what to expect from this series, book 1 sets the scene nicely, Sketch and Romi are 2 kids that have known each other since they were 5 years old. They are totally inseparable. Book two sets a new scene, hints of problems from their past, both not understanding why they have flashbacks? Chris Sketchs brother stumbles across information that has a detrimental effect on them both. Book 3 takes you through their childhoods, both are shocked of the revelations that unfold, they run away with Chris's friend Presley. (He's hilarious by the way. I the most awkward situation he made me laugh). There are a couple of Chloes old character a that appear, which was interesting. Book 4 is where everything unfolds, two world's collide in a dramatic way.
I absolutely loved all 4 books and I read them all in 2 days!! The best books I've read this year. 10 stars from me, Chloe at her best. Brilliant x

I don't understand WHY there are vv less reviews on this book maybe it's a glitch of idk but tbh i can't see one single review on this one.

Sketch and Romi were everything - together since they were born? Damn!!! The love they too had was omg!!!
I loved Presley 🥹, he sort of reminded me of Gibs from binding 13 ( also by Chloe walsh).

*SPOILER AHEAD*

I loved and honestly i expected a re-union and mostly people to be saved but what happened was unpredictable for me.

What i didn't liked - i didn't liked that they were having sex when they could've either walked away or could've try to save their parent ( sketch's fathers). Also, i didn't liked the way Romi told him that she was pregnant like idk dude i felt a bit icky reading that since it was a huge thing obviously. Also i seriously wish Rafael was alive since he never even got to meet his son or worse talk to him 🥹😭
