Hey, I’m Amy, I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life. And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World. If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me. —In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office. —I worked at Carnegie Hall. —I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one. If you want to reach out to me—and I love to hear from readers—you can email me at amyboylesauthor@gmail.com. Happy reading!
Each book in this series is just getting even more and more gripping for me. I honestly am in love with this series and think that Amy Boyles has done an incredible job. I actually love how things are progressing between Charming and her mom, as back in the first book things were quite tense with her, plus her mom had a habit of knocking her down bit by bit because she didn’t possess the same type of power as she did. But over the three books, I have seen that their relationship is getting on track. I honestly couldn’t fault this book and was gripped as I read through each chapter. I do love Thorne though, he is quite an intriguing character and now that things have gotten a little heated in Witch’s Forge, there’s bound to be more drama happening. I’m super excited to see where things go next and see how things start progressing with Thorne and Charming. Overall, this book was a great read and I would highly recommend the series.
Just as things were progressing between Thorne and Charming, she ends up coming to the realisation that things aren’t meant to be between them as Charming’s old nemesis Frankie has come to Witch’s Forge and has demanded that Charming find her her perfect match….. The last thing that she expected to see when see who Frankie’s true mate was that she had 3 suiters…. But what makes it worse of all is that Thorne is one of them. Will Frankie end up taking Thorne away from Charming and end up having him as her fated mate??? Also, what happens when a murder comes across the town of Witch’s Forge and it seems that Charming’s mom may be the murderer? Will Charming be able to get to the truth???
This series has it all! Three generations of witches, vampires with questionable motives, a foreboding prophecy... and then there's the attack broom and the stealth pig!! Charming has all this to wrangle, as well as her newly acknowledged feelings for Thorne, so adding a televised dating game that may snatch her fella from her grasp is enough. Oh, wait, the bachelorette who's too eager to get her lips on Thorne is a fire witch with a gift for Charming and Glinda' s sworn enemy...NOW, it's enough. So adding a murder that Charming has to solve to avoid a curse and rescue her mother is MORE than enough! Ms. Boyles has packed humor, a diverting mystery, romantic hijinks, family bonding, and delightful characters into this well-written treat while still managing to insert a few teasers. How did Frankie coerce Thorne? Is Hildegarde savvier than she's given credit for? Is there more to Charming's attack and her father's death? It's looking like Charming (and the reader) has a lot more to learn!
Another entertaining book in this series. HOWEVER, I hate it when an author throws in a new plot at the end of the book and then leaves it hanging. It is a cheap trick to try to get the reader to read the next book and I find it insulting and extremely aggravating! It would have been a great ending without the last chapter. (OK. Off my soapbox now.)
Witch's Forge mayor has decided to up the matchmaking game by turning it into a televised reality show. A new witch is in town who turns out to be Charming's mother's arch enemy. When Charming Calhoun matches this witch to three eligible bachelors, strange things start to happen. Threatening notes, dead flowers delivered to the new witch, Charming's witchy powers expand and are threatened, a witch is murdered and the murder investigation creates tension between Charming and Thorne, the police chief.
A great story, good action and interesting characters. I'm looking forward to the next one.
So the mayor of the town has a new task for Charming. Do a game show for the town where one woman has to pick among three bachelors. Problem is one of the choices turns out to be Thorne, the vampire that Charming is attracted to. Still, the show must go on!
Frankie Firewalker is her mother's enemy, has had three husbands and is the woman who will choose among the three bachelors.
What else could go wrong? How about a kidnapped pig, a woman dies, Charming's mother is taken in by the police and a prophecy comes true, a prophecy that could end all magic in Witch's Forge permanently.
A lot going on. My favorite is the love-hate relationship between Thorne and Charming.
Glinda, Charming’s mom, nemesis comes to town and causes trouble. She asks to be matched with her soul mate. When Charming does her magic on her she finds that she actually has 3 possible matches – one of which is Thorne! The major comes up with the plan to start a reality dating show to help Frankie find her soul mate. Unfortunately, Frankie has been getting death threats and Glinda is the main suspect. Still enjoying this series and watching what Pig and Broom get up to!
When Charming sees three possible matches for soul mates for a witch, the mayor decides to have a dating game. Thorne, unfortunately, is one of the possible matches. He is not interested and does not want to participate but does so when Charming asks him to do so. Of course, there's a mystery to solve and many possibilities. This story moves fast and is filled with humor.
In this book Charming matches a witch with three soul mates. The mayor came up with the idea of a dating game televised. Then someone tries to kill the witch and her mom is a suspect. So she investigates even though she promised Thorn she wouldn't. Will she be able to prove her mom's innocence?
Third in this delightfully magical matchmaker series. I love these characters and the setting with different elemental witches showcasing different powers. We learned more about Thorne's past, and also some things about Charming's father... I'm very intrigued to find out more about his research. Only one more book to go in this quartet...
I'm reading these in quarantine. This was a fun book. Still like everyone. They are short fun stories with different things that happen around this magical town. Charming always has her work cut out for her. The mayor I believe is the biggest problem of it all.
Great book for a distraction when everything else is going crazy. The chemistry between the two is explosive. No doubt where things will go from here, but in a classy way.
This is a cute series. The mix of witches and vampires is intriguing. A matchmaker who solves murders sounds like mayhem. Looking forward to adding mummies.
This series isn't one to disappoint, with witches, vampires, a matchmaker, trouble and mystery around every curve. You will for sure get lost in the pages
Terrific read. A plot that based around her new job for the town - matchmaking that's televised. But no one expected the with to end up dead. As we get to see more of the characters we get to know more of their history. Was her father the intended victim of the vampire attack and was it due to his research? The mayor has the great idea to televise the next match, a witch that has three potential matches. Only trouble is one of them is Thorne and someone seems to want to kill her. When they succeed, her mother is a prime suspect as she and the witch had a history. Then there are the other two matches, the game host, a bunch of dead roses, cockroaches, a flaming skull, another magical gift and a near murder plus pig being abducted. Will they sort out who is the killer? Will she be the end of magic?
Amy Boyles is such a fun cozy author. I've enjoyed all of her series that I've read. This series does not disappoint. It's fun that she incorporated The Smokey Mountains into a series. The Smokies are the vacation spot that many southerners have visited often and she incorporates this into Witch Forge. I'm a bit more into the nature aspect of the area so it would be great if she did pull that into this series more. Newfound Gap, Cades Cove, and numerous other natural areas would be a great addition.
This last book had me hooked and this one did not let me down. I enjoy all of Amy’s book. She has a real talent for bringing the characters to life. I literally read the 3 books in this series in a couple of days. About to begin the 4th book with great anticipation. I will be definitely reading more of her books.
Charming is a fantastic character, I love her name, and her mom, great aunt Rose, Pig and Broom are hilarious. The town they live in is like Comedy Central, just when you think you’ve read it all, they will surprise you! The romance between Charming and Thorne is a very nice addition.
Really enjoying this series - the setting and the characters are a lot of fun and their adventures make me laugh out loud! Like seeing how Charming’s abilities are growing and she’s becoming more confident in herself. Looking forward to more adventures with Broom and Pig, and can’t wait to see Thorne and Charming continues their journey!
This is a fun storyline of a matchmaker in a paranormal town. The characters are well developed and likeable. The conversations flow naturally and the plot and subplots move quickly. It is a quick, entertaining read.
Amy Boles has done it again. Wow! Just love Charming and her cast of characters. Murder follows a matchmaker date and Charming's mother may have done it but did she? Turn the pages to find out.
Charming and her crazy family are back and better than ever. This series is a fun, light read that made me laugh, a small southern town filled with offbeat characters.
Charming & Thorne are back at it! But Thorne is matched to another eligible lady. What is this all about? You'll have to read it to see!! Amy's books are always on my must read list!!
Amy Boyles has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I love how Charming and Thorne are with one another. The things Charming finds herself in, along with her Mama and Rose, are funny and keep you wanting to read more!
Witches,a hot vampire, and a pig . What else could you ask for? A romance heating up for more than one couple. Cannot wait for the continuation to see how love flourishes for Thorne and his witch
